A mini kylix. I thought it could make an opulent cat bowl, but I think its owner is going to keep it safe on a shelf.

This was probably 30 hours of work (maybe? I don’t really count, but there were at least two nights staying up too late painting).

I also spent a while yesterday learning Affinity Photo to edit these, in an attempt to get away from Photoshop. I learned a lot! Though I ended up taking new photos rather than using the one I spent the most time on.

This was all painted with Western underglaze. Throwing, glazing, and firing were all done at my local community center’s pottery studio.

I’m so thrilled with how my Tress of the Emerald Sea cup came out! I did a photoshoot for it.

studio classes have been kicking my ass this term so i haven't had a lot of time to make art for myself, but! i have some stuff from my ceramics class i'm excited to share!

these little guys have been bisque fired and painted with underglaze - the jackalope should come out a fair bit darker than it looks right now, but the foxes are pretty spot-on for color!

this mug is still waiting to be bisque fired, and once it is the grey-brown color should (hopefully) turn a kind of purple-blue - i mixed two engobes together, which can have unpredictable effects, so fingers crossed lol. i got the idea for the technique from @claypigeonpottery - i've always loved jackalopes and auroras both, and was really inspired by some of their pieces!

Here is one of my latest ceramic pieces! I love how much vibrant color and fine detail I’m able to put into pieces like this! I use underglaze to get the colors and patterns and then use a clear glaze on top to give it that glossy glass like finish.
