'omg dazai treating akutagawa like he did literally makes no sense he just did it because he sucks and i hate him for it'
can we. have a conversation about this without being fucking stupid please. yes dazai fucks him up and its really awful and sucks so bad. yes it isnt necessary for akutagawa's improvement. but like everything with bsd, theres nuance to it that you are ignoring.
the initial meeting between dazai and aku is aku wanting a reason to live and dazai wanting to give him one. a repeat of what mori wanted to give him. (this does not mean those two relationships are the exact same. please guys. please things are different sometimes). Now. dazai assumes the way to give aku a desire to live is to give him purpose. he ISNT training aku to be a mindless killer - thats literally the Opposite of what hes doing. he wants aku to be More than a sword without a sheath. hes teaching aku to be efficient. not just killing people, being smart about it. being what the mafia wants. giving him a purpose through making him useful.
it also probably comes back to the fact that dazai is WRONG about what made him want (barely) to live. he believes it comes from being surrounded by death, thus making the mafia the perfect place for him. booo hes stupid boo hes wrong!! bc it doesnt. hes bored by it and he says that directly in dark era. that he thought being around death would content him with life and it HASNT. bc he was wrong in fifteen. he didnt suddenly become interested in life bc he was doing violence and masterminding for the mafia. it was bc Someone intrigued him.
dazais whole problem stems from apathy, he wants to die because hes Bored with life. nothing interests him. Except people. so he meets chuuya in fifteen and is Interested by him. and that happens to coincide with his first mission for the mafia so he thinks its the death aspect. but it isnt. and we see this repeated with the other people he cares about (oda and ango most obviously). dazais motivations for his plans arent fucking around w death for his own personal entertainment. its looking after his friends. thats the same no matter what canon material ur looking at. and that same reason is why hes alive.
his misinterpretation of that leads him to be wrong abt aku too. aku needs people, he needs a gentle hand to develop best (beast). dazai says himself that aku needs to find someone to be his sheath and that dazai cant be that person (he doesnt know how to be). ofc, the sheath is eventually atsushi and now that we see aku gain strength both with his ability, with strategic thinking, and just emotionally in general its bc of the development hes gone under w atsushi. but guess what? this is more to the thing of bsd being based on human connection. dazais alive bc of the people he cares for. aku does better around people he cares for.
this isnt to say dazais actions are at all justified, and thats not the point of this. bsd is full of grey characters. but i do wish that u guys at least understood the dynamic u want to complain about.
#the abuse cycle mentor to mentee relationships are based on misunderstanding guys please#mori believes dazai will want to live if he becomes the mafia boss bc moris reason to live is vested in responsibility for others#dazai believes aku will want to live if he makes him useful and good at working for the mafia. put him around death and make him Good at it#and aku believes making kyouka a weapon is the only way to give her worth bc that was what was done to him#but the fundamental thing w bsd is that EVERYTHING is about caring for people#bsd#dazai osamu#akutagawa ryuunosuke#nyxis hate posts#analysis

BEAST DAZAI PLEASEEE JUST ANYTHING BEAST DAZAI OR BEAST AKUTAGAWA
Brought Together At Last {Dazai Osamu}
A/n: thanks for requesting, I hope you like this since you didn't really give me any plot points. Sorry about it being short.
Pairing: Beast! Dazai x reader
Trigger warnings: spoilers for Beast manga
There were things Dazai could fix, whether he wanted to fix them was actually a different question. But there were certainly some things that felt heavy to carry after knowing everything in the book.
Knowing everything about all his other selves in the alternative universes felt odd and depressing. Yes, Oda was alive in this universe but the void his death had left in every other universe had been filled by you. And since Oda was alive... there was no you.
So, naturally, Dazai couldn't help but wonder. If Oda were to die again in this universe, would he meet you? Would you accept him as he is now? An empty shell of a man who runs the deadliest organisation in Japan? He had seen how you acted with the other 'Dazai'; giggling and participating whenever he wanted to judge something the Port Mafia did.
You hated the Port Mafia.
It was rare for him to leave his office but he did so anyways, he needed to go for a walk around town. Somehow, he found himself sitting at one of the tables at the cafe on the ground floor of the building the ADA also occupied. He only lowered his eyes once when the waitress placed his coffee in front of him and by the next time he raised them up again, you were sitting at the table across from him.
Dazai's heart stopped. You looked beautiful, mesmerising even and the funny thing was that you weren't even doing anything. A small notebook was in front of you and you seemed to be focused on what was written on it, scratching off a few things every now and then. The waitress brought your coffee order without even asking you what you wanted and he couldn't believe that you had been a regular there all this time.
For a brief moment he thought about talking to you. But he didn't know how to approach you. What was he supposed to say? Could he even hope that since everything in this universe was all messed up, you could perhaps show some interest in him even though he was in the Port Mafia?
His hopefulness was short lived. Exactly three minutes later, a tall man sat in front of you and your smile -the same smile he had been seeing in his dreams whenever he was thinking of you- lit up the entire room. The exact same smile you would show him when he would bring flowers and chocolate back home in the original universe. The smile you had promised belonged to him in the only universe where you got married.
And suddenly, Dazai was jealous. Not meeting you at all seemed way better than meeting you and finding you with another man.

Writing a complex character such as Dazai is actually really hard even for people who understand him because he is, as you said, extremely unpredictable. I don't know exactly what to tell you, but I'll try to help a little bit!
The whole thing about Dazai is that he doesn't understand humanity. He understands the basics and why people do what they do because he is analytical and has been studying people's behavior and human connections forever. But he doesn't feel connected with humanity and empathy the same way other people do. He perceives others from like, the other side of a barrier. He studies them carefully. Manages to care about them deeply sometimes. Even deeper when they're able to see him and get to him (Odasaku, Atsushi, Chuuya, the whole agency in fact means something to him). But there's always this layer of disconnection and apathy and emptiness he doesn't know how to get rid of. It's like he cares, but he actually doesn't because he rationalizes everything and turns it into a game of chess, more or less? And I think that frustrates him. He isn't used to caring about people because he doesn't understand them, but he takes an interest in the people he finds amusing to study and once he cares deeply, they're taken away from him (that's why he mourns and regrets Oda's death so much. He feels like the world takes everything away from him the second he manages to feel human). Hence the whole thing about not feeling human (amongst other things). He cares and yet he is realistic. He has regrets and suffers and feels pain and he can care about others (ignore all the people who keep portraying him as an emotionless monster, please) but he doesn't drown in self-pity when it comes to all the people he has killed and his past because he can rationalize that. It was another era. He has moved on. And if it's for the greater good of the mission or his journey to find something to live for, he doesn't care how many random people he has to kill (when he was younger he valued other people's lives way less, of course. Now that has changed because his apathy is something he doesn't turn into cruelty and instead uses to rationalize plans and help the world and the agency. Basically, when he was part of the mafia it was kind of "I don't give a fuck about random people" because he genuinely didn't feel anything for them, but now, even if he doesn't genuinely care for them, he protects even random people because that's what the image of kindness Oda had planned for him). Oda tells him that, if the good side and the bad one are the same and he hasn't found anything to live for yet, why not help the world while he's at it? And it's such a beautiful thought because Dazai has this issue with understanding humanity and making bonds. But he understands, now more than ever after Oda's death, what living and killing means. He might not actually care that much for society and its well-being, but maybe he can find something to live for in the light more than he would in the darkness. He keeps wanting to kill himself, right? He keeps trying. But he doesn't actually want to. It's common sense. If he truly wanted to, he already would've done it. "I don't like pain" is the most common thing to say when you don't actually want to do it. I think that, unlike Nikolai, who actually craves to die as a representation of freedom, Dazai only wants to keep trying and trying to find a reason for living. Chuuya was that thing when he was in the Mafia. Chuuya and Oda, because Chuuya is quite literally his soulmate (in the sense of bringing amusement to his life and also making him feel human, as his ability is the only thing that can help Chuuya. And also Chuuya not being human but being the most empathetic and emotional of all the people Dazai has met in the mafia) and Oda was the first one to actually understand him and see him for who he is, something I don't think he'll ever find again and that's why Oda's death fucked him up so bad. He found a place to belong and somebody to live for, and then he dies and leaves him alone? It's not fair, but he'll try to fight for good and live in the light if that's what Oda wanted for him. As if Oda knew him better than he knows himself because I also think he has a hard time with his own perception and personality.
In simpler words: Dazai has a hard time understanding humanity because he feels disconnected from it by a layer of apathy and the fact that he doesn't understand basic human needs/actions because he doesn't share them. One of the things that makes us human is desires, right? Wanting. Loving. Longing. Dazai rejects all of that because he doesn't know what he wants and nothing he tries ends up making him feel whole. In "No Longer Human", actually, you can read things like "It is almost impossible for me to converse with other people" and "I have never known what it means to be hungry / Eat or die, the saying goes, but to my ears, it sounded like just one more unpleasant threat". So he isn't a monster, his brain just functions in a different way. He sees everything. Analyzes every little thing. He's smarter than everybody else and he's aware of that, but he feels lonely there and only wants somebody to understand or something to fight for. Oda gave him both things, and the agency gave him a reason to keep going because he genuinely cares about doing good and keeping them safe. I don't think Dazai's journey has ended, because he still fights against.... So many things with himself. His past. His future. His desires. But at least now he has a thing to enjoy and bring him happiness. His constant act of being "silly" isn't that much of a facade. I mean, I think it is because if he acts like a clown, nobody will ever see the true self he hides. But I think he ends up having fun with the agency and annoying Chuuya because he sees them respond to his behavior and he finds it amusing. I think being extremely smart and lonely and tormented can coexist with being fun sometimes.
As per writing in his POV.... It depends on what you want to write, really. I think his brain functions differently depending on his mood. I guess the most important thing is to keep in mind his surroundings because he's always hyperaware of every little thing. But it frustrates him not knowing how he's feeling or not understanding what he actually truly needs, often focusing on others instead of looking into himself, because every time he does, he only finds himself empty and craving for something he doesn't know what it is. In his worst moments, I think it's quite obvious he tries to fix things with distractions and impulsive actions like substance abuse. In his more analytical moments, it's when he becomes more apathetic and sees the world as his game of chess and people as only pawns. He knows he's human, he just doesn't feel like it. Fyodor has a sense of superiority Dazai doesn't share. He's smarter because his brain functions differently, but he is no God. He is no entity. He analyzes from the POV of somebody external to humanity but knowing quite well he isn't God. And when he's having genuine fun and feeling some type of care/love? I think he's grateful. The emptiness is always there, though. Always haunting him. In the back of his brain. But he sees hope in Atsushi and a place to keep his promise in the agency and maybe fulfill his heart. He might always have a fucked up perception of himself, but at least he's aware that doing the right thing fills the hole in his chest more than tormenting others. As I said, he likes it there (and Chuuya) because it makes him experience humanity even if he keeps telling himself he isn't human (No Longer Human quote: "You miss her, don't you?" / "Yes." / "That's human nature, I guess").
I don't know if I helped you?? I think it's a bit of a mess, sorry 😭 It's like 3am and I don't know if what I said makes any sense, but I really hope I was able to help you!
holy FUCK it took me fifteen minutes to read all of this and i'm glad i did because this is the most succinct and articulate analysis i have ever seen of dazai's underlying nature and his ambitions in relevance to the plot OP I THINK IF ASIGIRI CANT WRITE ANYMORE YOU SHOULD TAKE OVER BSD MANGA BC I THINK U UNDERSTAND DAZAI BETTER THAN HE DOES SOMETIMES TBH💀💀 aaaa jkjk i digress you were so real for bringing up the yozo/dazai parallels bc there's genuinely so many and if i still had my fucking BOOK :side eye: i could go through the intricate and profound commentary i left in the margins but alas my dear friend insists on keeping it longer. there's nothing more i can say on this topic bc i agree w you on everything wholeheartedly i think you deserve a scholarship to harvard or smth bc god DAMN you would slay as a lit or lang major
#one more thing i will add is dazai's inherently selfish nature in the mafia which he lashes out against due to oda's last words#bc he rly DID only care abt his own interests and wouldn't take action unless he reaped mutual benefit#massive slay when he entered his redemption arc good for him good for him#anyway TY FOR THE ANALYSIS U ARE THE BEST MWAH MWAH💞💞💞#best ask i've received EVER <333333333#lotus’s asks

Guess who's still crying about Beast? Me! I watched the movie and read the beggining and end of the light novel because I got lazy. Not expecting the end in the movie though. Spoiler drawing ahead and comments btw
Made me so sad. I was going to rant in another post, but I might as well do it here.
So, number one, the sugar cube scene was so adorable I literally cried. I mean it. Like I LITERALLY sobbed.
Number 2, Oda WHYYYYYYYY?! I'M LITERALLY CRYING WHILE TYPING WRITE NOW THINKING ABOUT IT. YOU ARE FRIENDS, YOU ARE, PLEASEEEE. DAZAI'S FACE WHEN HE PULLED THE GUN OUT IN THE BAR AND TOLD HIM NOT TO CALL HIM ODASAKU WAS LIKE A SLAP TO THE FACE.
Number 3, When at the end of the movie, Fyoder was being a little rat and messed everything up, I wanted to vomit out of an array of emotions. I was confused, sad, angry, and just so dang overwhelmed. Like I was ugly crying five seconds ago cuz of Dazai and then this SEWER RAT came and made me confused. I'll get into him in anothe post.
Number 4, In the movie, when Dazai stabbed his leg to show Chuuya his commitment and how much he deserves his trust didn't make sense when I saw it, however, after I recently read the book and watched the play Julius Ceaser, I was like OOOOOOOOH. Dazai immitating Portia and Chuuya Brutus made me just sooo....wow.
Number 5, When it turned out that MORI was the new director I just- absolutley NOT. Do NOT put a pedophile in his perfect Utopia, Dazai WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! Also, I thought he killed him the whole time. Just think about it. A pedophile in an orphanage. You know how if you're being sexually assulted or something, you're supposed to tell a trusted adult like a parentor a teacher? THESE KIDS HAVE NO PARENTS.
Number 6, Chuuya being locked up in that poor governemnt facility broke my heart. Just think about how many people are going to die? Like there is no way Chuuya Nakahara is going to succumb to a bunch of itsy bitsy chains. He' breaking out and killing everyone in there and then the agency. Convince me otherwise.
Number 7, I can't. I'll make an entirely seperate post for Chuuya too, but can we just talk for a second? He went crazy because Dazai committed suicide. He went on a whole rampage and it took 3 special ability resistance units to take him down. This is what happens when there is no Dazai when he uses corruption. But the REASON he went into corruption was just...wow. I always knew they had a complicated relationship but at the same time it was just so simple. Like, they hate eachother, but they also don't. They don't like eachother, but it's not like they don't either. It's not like they complete one another, but it's like one soul in two bodies. They're so simply complicated that if you asked me what their relation was, I'd just say, they're complications. Because in reality, their relationship is just so unexplainable. You need to see it to understand it. There are lovers, enemys, frenemies, friends, siblings, etc, but they fit into literally no category but they aren't strangers either. This is getting too long, so I'll make a different post about that.
Number 8, Chuuya pleaseeee don'ttttt. There is no need to attack the agency, my guy. He wants to avenge Dazai's death, but what is there to avenge? Dazai did suicide. He wasn't killed. Chuuya was so upset that he wanted to kill all the agency. I just....can't. It's kind of sad. This is also going to be really long if I go on, so I'll make another post about this topic.
Number 9, the way Chuuya just really couldn't understand made me wanna bang my head on the wall in tears. He truly couldn't think of why Dazai did it. He was kind of alright one second and then dead the next. The entire time, you can tell how little Chuuya was incorporated into the script he wrote. The ending for each one was different as the movie had him go insane and be put under governemnt care, while the light novel just left him to do his own thing. However, in both you can see that neither of them ever knew what was going on. Dazai never gave him a reason to why he killed himself. Everyone else seems to be going on like nothing happened or at least as if they know what happened and came to terms with it, but then he knows nothing. He was his bodyguard and right hand man and yet NOTHING. I'll get back to this in another post lol. TvT
So yeah. I cried a lot.

BSD rant? (MANGA SPOILERS!!)
When will BSD fans stop babying Dazai? When will they finally understand that they are projecting themselves on him and don't really "kin" him? (Cuz if you kin Dazai, then ya'll should be in mental hospital).
When will they understand that Dazai is a nihilist person who doesn't care about life or death, good or evil? When will they realize that Mori didn't abuse him or experimented on him (where did that idea ever came from?)?
When will they learn that in BSD no one is good or evil? It's a place for morally grey characters!!
Kunikida and Ranpo were ready to let Atsushi die when he was kidnapped by Akutagawa. Tanizaki was very murder happy with killing Mori. Even Fukuzawa used to be an assassin!!
ADA Dazai is still PM Dazai cuz he doesn't care about anything else besides Oda's wish for him to be on the side that saves people (see how he doesn't say "be on the "good" side"?)
Oda himself said that for Dazai good or bad has same meaning, so why do these so-called fans and "kinnies" pretend that they know him better than Oda? As if Dazai won't kill someone in cold blood? He tried to drown Dostoyevskiy to win against him in latest chapters!
He doesn't hate the mafia, he hates Mori because Mori killed his friend!! That is a reason why he hates Mori.
"He left toxic and abused place" — Dazai is toxic and abusive himself. That toxic relationship between Dazai and Akutagawa and Akutagawa and Kyoka began with DAZAI, NOT MORI! (Unless Asagiri tells us it was Mori.) He didn't care about Akutagawa. No one went and forced Dazai to shoot or beat the shit out him. He did it on his own!
When will they stop babying him? As if Dazai would let anyone abuse or manipulate him, let alone his boss. He did what he did on his own.
It gets so annoying reading BSD fanfics cuz most of writers have him written "sad uwu boy who didn't want to be in Mafia but because he was abused, experimented (simetimes even SA'd) by Mori, he finally left the toxic space, hates Mafia and really wants to be a good person" 🙄
Do they even understand that all these are just "headcannons"? To them if you even say that you like Mori, you are a p*do excuser and abuser lover? Like, do these people even know how to think???
None of whatever they have deluded themselves with is Canon! Dazai is in ADA because of Odasaku. Mori isn't a p*do cuz Asagiri hasn't confirmed anything. Chuuya isn't a feminine uwu boy who can't function without Dazai and Mafia is actually very important to Yokohama.
"Mori doesn't deserve Elise" — Elise is Mori!! She is like Demon Snow and Golden Demon. She doesn't even have a personality unless Mori gives her one. She doesn't have feelings on her own. She isn't a human being.
"Mori said she was his wife" — well she is a part of Mori, so he can call her whatever he wants. Mori probably had her since he was a child. I wouldn't be surprised if he were to love her ♀️
"The name of his ability is sus" — well, if they had read real life Mori's book "Vita Sexualis" they would have realized that the book is about a man who has very low s*x drive, probably an asexual — there, a simple answer. So, no we don't know anything about how his ability works and wiki page that says Vita Sexualis is projecting his own sexual wants on Elise isn't canon!
"He said he like his women below 12" — yeah, as a joke, both with Kouyou and Fukuzawa. Elise calling him a "lolicon" is Mori calling himself a "lolicon". Elise hating Mori is also self hatred 🤷♀️ Because, once again, Elise doesn't have a personality on her own, do we even know if she can think on her own? BEAST and Yosano’s past kinda raise this question.
They can hate him for what he did to Yosano but if my country was in a war, I, probably, would do the same if someone had that ability. It's one person versus a whole country. It's called necesasry evil.
BSD fans have to realize that what they want to sell as canon is just a headcanon, not everyone has same headcanons and that they are reading a Seinen not Shounen.

Oh shit I completely forgot about the PM exchange thing.. anyway so here are my thoughts???!
Ok so first of all, we can be delulu yknow?? Everything will be resolved somehow and no one is going to the PM! Everyone is happy. I mean doesn't Asagiri always pull the least expected thing??
Second of all: no one is happy let's break it down member by member
Yosano: she ain't going.
Kenji: ok yknow what? I think the PM could benefit from his powers, and innocent personality! But aside from that, Kenji isn't really focused on, so the chance of this might be low, but still, reasonable.
Tanizaki: OKAY I saw someone else say this and I AGREE! Ofc it's the same thing with Kenji, it would be random asf for him to be the big sacrifice but! Tanizaki managed to trick the PM a few times with his ability! So this would make a lot of sense! I think the chance of this is higher honestly.
Kyouka: Ufff, guys idk... I mean she was in the PM not too long ago and she's focused on a good amount... This would make sense, knowing that Atsushi can't just steal her away anymore but... for a loooot of time, in the beginning of BSD, it was a whole back and forth thing with Kyouka getting to the PM, then escaping, then getting back, then escaping. So not only would the series fall back to that again, the PM might've just given up. Still, I feel like this has a 50/50 chance of happening, depending which way Asagiri wants to go.
Kunikida: As much as I don't want it happening, it might just happen.. I can't really say much about this one. Kunikida is smart, organised and loyal to the ADA and would die for them. But then again, he wouldn't stray away from his ideals and go off killing people and torturing them. I don't think this has a high chance of happening, I mean there's still a reasonable chance, but, it would be hard to work with him yk?
Atsushi: honestly, aint no way. I mean yes, the first major thing in the series was about the PM trying to catch Atsushi for money! But then again the relationship with the PM (mainly Aku) changed drastically for him! The guild isn't offering money to the PM for atsushi anymore, and Aku and Atsushi work together anyway! And mainly since he's the main character, I don't think he's going to have his POVs in the PM, since I think the ADA is going to get more focused on, and his relationship with Aku. NOT TO MENTION the fact that Dazai would DEFINITELY get him out of there bc??? His mentor?? Going down on the same path as him? Also as Aku? Killing people and basically becoming the person he promised Oda not to be anymore?? Aint no way.
Ranpo: Yeah... i could see it. But then again I don't. Because yeah it's reasonable for the PM to choose him, and since Ranpo is being focused on a lot currently, and it would really impact his story - Ranpo is then again a smart-ass brat who wouldn't even use his "ability" in the PM, especially since it's more helpful for detective work and not mafia work. So I have no clue about this one honestly, It would be interesting character arc but how would that like... work?
And lastly..
Dazai: Ah god, I wrote him last bc I don't know what to say! I mean most people I've seen guessed it was him going. And honestly? Fucking reasonable! Like why WOULDNT Mori pick Dazai? Like yeaaah he's scared of him, but throughout the series he asked Dazai a lot of times if he would come back! It would make a lot of sense! Especially since Dazai became older and wiser. Honestly the only big thing that's holding be back from actually betting on Dazai is that... would asagiri really put him back there? Right now? I mean, look, guy was in jail this entire time, barely goes back to the agency and boom, back to the PM. I think Dazai is going to be again crucial for this new arc, especially in Atsushi's character! I think, writing wise, Dazai shouldn't go back. But then again it's the most logical thing! I have so many thoughts about this.
Or then again Asagiri could just pull the most craziest shit that none of us were expecting so-
#also i didnt write abt fukuzawa bc theres like noo way imo#bro like im fucking nervous??#same thing for Sigma#if he becomes and ADA member#bsd dazai#bungo stray dogs dazai#bungou stray dogs dazai#dazai osamu#ranpo edogawa#bsd ranpo#bungou stray dogs ranpo#bsd atsushi#bungou stray dogs atsushi#atsushi nakajima#kenji miyazawa#bsd kenji#tanizaki junichirou#bsd tanizaki#bungo stray dogs#bungou stray dogs#bsd anime#bungou gay dogs#bsd season 5#bsd kunikida#bungou stray dogs kunikida#kunikida doppo#kyouka izumi#bsd kyouka#armed detective agency#port mafia

Notes I've taken from the first three bsd novels... brainrot included
Entrance Exam:
Dazai is a terrible driver
Kunikida is scared of ghosts
Kunikida actually makes lots of references to Christianity. From the direct quote "Let there be light" when using a flashlight to "There is no difference between myself and them. Are we not all born on the same planet, only to ultimately return to the eternal heavens together in death? O divine creator, answer me." (I say Christianity because I know for a fact that the first quote is directly in the bible)
Karen Dazai
Dark Era:
Dazai is repeatedly noted as appearing younger than he is or compared to a child by Oda
This novel really helped me understand Dazai's relationship with suicide better. The way I read it, it seems like it's not about dying but almost dying to him, similiar to the dopamine rush of skydiving or mountain climbing. This lines up with the fact that he always makes dumb mistakes that fail the attempt, something that would be out of character if it were accidental mistakes.
I love Oda's narration. A bit dry and blunt. Very fitting for his story.
Untold Origins:
Naomi's suggestions for the entrance exam all being [redacted]. Also her characterization in this novel was great. Really helped me understand how the author intended her be written in a way that wasn't as transparent in the manga or anime.
Dazai says "methinks"
Kid Ranpo's voice is compared to a chicken
He also seems to have terribly hand-cut hair
Fukuzawa plays by the rules of the secretary's maze of papers, Ranpo does NOT
Oh my god Oda my boyyyyy
I noted that he is vengeful even in his assassin days
Also kinda funny how Oda's youngest appearance in the series and one of his oldest appearances in the series are both in scenes with Ranpo. I wonder if Ranpo knew...
The fact that Oda talks down about V killing for justice is very ironic.
Also, V being after a skill-less world is very similiar to the whole Fyodor Dostoyevsky thing
Natsume owed a debt to Ranpo's father
Throughout the novel, Fukuzawa notes how bad he would be at being a leader or in power. Ironic.
He also didn't know he was a skill user until after starting the agency haha. An interesting world building question is how many people have abilities that they just never know?
Ranpo autism moments:
Not eating the mochi
Getting confused over if he was using the word granted right ("You can’t take connections like this for granted… Wait. Taken for ‘granite’? ‘Granted’? Uh…”)
Immediately calling Fukuzawa's business card and saying “Please help me, Mr. Bodyguard, sir. I don’t have a job, and I’ve got no place to stay tonight. I’m going to die.”
Fukuzawa can hear him doing this over the phone and across the cafe
Actually the phone call is a bit desperate.. this entire meeting has been a bit desperate on Ranpo's part. It feels like he is trying to reach out to Fukuzawa and practically begging for help. The most interesting thing about the phone call is that it is the most honest Ranpo is about his emotions and motives in the entire meeting, and yet, he has his back to Fukuzawa the entire call. And when he gets what he wants - when he is accepted - he turns around with a big grin.
Psychoanalyzing Egawa and being confused as to why she gets mad
You have to be exact in what you ask with him or he WILL NOT know what you're really asking
My babyyy adults get mad when he speaks the truth cuz he's smart and blunt
"What's a skill user" sweetie it's the middle of a play
Ranpo NO TALKING in the middle of THE PLAY
RANPO NO
RANPO
RANPOOOOO
He's very physically expressive
He is often portrayed as more cool and collected by fanon, but this scene of the play, although it takes place when he is younger, really shows the depths of his emotions. He is confused. He is agitated. He is angry and scared. He doesn't know how to deal with his emotions and he doesn't know how to ask for help. And he has a breakdown at a really really dumb annoyance because it tips him over the edge. Probably one of my favorite scenes for his characterization.
And Fukuzawa doesn't invalidate his feelings.
His parents raised him so well. I would live an au where they didn't die and were able to bring him up the way they planned to. I think that would be fascinating to see how Ranpo would turn out.
Ranpo doesn't look down on others cuz his mother taught him not to.
Fukuzawa dad moments:
Says he'll feed this kid he doesn't know later if he keeps talking
Tempted to tell everyone in the restaurant that the kid just followed him there
“Hear that? Those are the wails of the mochi you left behind”
Tempted to say he's only thirty two when Ranpo calls him old
Ranpo basically adopted him as his dad
"Three times, Fukuzawa told Ranpo to quiet down as he whined for candy. Twice, Ranpo wore down Fukuzawa’s patience until he caved. Three times, Ranpo asked Fukuzawa why planes could fly. Four times, Fukuzawa convinced Ranpo to keep walking when he complained his legs were tired. Four times, Fukuzawa carried Ranpo on his back."
Keeps imagining ways to leave Ranpo
When Fukuzawa lashes out, Ranpo is legitimately stunned, even shaking for a while afterwards
Using a chi attack to make Ranpo think the glasses did something lmao
Fukuzawa chewing out Ranpo for the whole plan

Hi, how is your day? I want to ask you about Dazai's character and its developments in the series, and what do you think of him? Do you think he's smarter than fyodor? Thank you for the answer in advance... And in the end, I would like to thank you for your hard work and your wonderful style of writing. it is relly special ..
Hi, thanks for the message. I am glad u like what I do (I don’t really “write”, just “translate”, though).
I’m quite bad at expressing my opinions. I normally do not give much thought to things until I am asked about it. So u may find it my answer all over the place because I haven’t had it arranged in my head, it’s more like pulling out old notes from a rusty drawer. So I’m sorry about it in advanced. And this is all my personal opinion, so you don’t have to agree with me.
Dazai is a complicated and interesting character for me. He is smart, too smart that it brings him misery. People say ignorance is bliss, right? Then Dazai must be the most unfortunate guy on earth. Even Asagiri once described him as someone who has lived for 2000 years. I, with the brain of a normal person, can’t bring myself to imagine how boring life would be for him, knowing things too well. Some might say that he was being overdramatic when he was young, and that he’d regret having all those thoughts when he gets older. But I personally don’t think so. I think the pain and agony he felt was real, then or now. Just that in the past, he hadn’t met people who would surprise him, or go beyond his calculations, he lived on thinking humans were ugly, sinful and stupid and didn’t understand why they should be saved. His head must have been overwhelmed with thoughts that no one would ever be able to understand, and no one would even try to understand. That is why he was always lonely, and suicidal. I don’t think he really wanted to die, he just couldn’t find what to live for.
The thing I like about Dazai’s character is that he fundamentally didn’t change, even with all the so-called character developments. He was still the smart, and sad and lonely guy that he used to be. But he have met people who made him want to try living, peope who gave him a purpose and people who genuinely cared about him. And those are things that even his genius brain couldn’t have predicted. From a fifteen year old who believed nothing was worth living for, he has become able to tell Kyouka that everyone deserves a second chance in life, to Fyodor that it is okay even if we are all sinfully stupid, and admit that no matter how well him and Fyodor can foresee things, the fate of the world is not decided by them, but the imperfect human beings that are fighting for what they deem precious out there. I doubt Dazai will ever get rid of his suicidal thoughts, or loneliness, but at least he has things he wants to protect, and it gives him the motivation to live on. We haven’t seen him talking about dying for no reasons for so long. Now he only lets himself get hurt, or take risky action for the greater sake (BEAST is not counted cuz that is a totally different universe), and I think it is a good sign in his character development.
I forgot to write about his relationship with Akutagawa and Atsushi. Basically, I don’t think Dazai was a good mentor. Someone who hardly experienced failure is not likely to become a good mentor. He treated Akutagawa badly in the past because all he could see was that the weak could not survive in the harsh world and there was no saving for them. But the meeting with Oda has changed his way of thinking. He now sees orphans and the weak as those he has to protect, that’s why the way he treated Atsushi is very different from that of Akutagawa. He is still not the best mentor, but he is better now.
About Fyodor, I don’t think he is smarter than Fyodor. They must be on the same level of wits. Dazai actually can act more human when he is around people like him, so having Fyodor as an opponent can actually be very entertaining to him. Even if Dazai is going to win the final battle, I don’t think it is because Dazai is smarter. He is just backed up by more people in the “somewhat beautiful” side.

MAJOR SPOILERS ⚠️
Bungou stray dogs manga spoilers
Chapter 105.5
ppl are comfortable w this chapter cuz asagri wouldn't kill a character easily. They struggle but they're eventually saved in the end. but I wouldn't be comfortable when this is abt dazai facing danger. his death in every universe is probable and serves the plot in many ways
I obv can’t tell what Asagiri’s plans are for every character. I can only say that he doesn’t like killing off important characters, and that I personally hope that Dazai doesn’t die (which also goes for every character tbh)
We all know that killing off odasaku was, unfortunately, necessary for the plot and dazai's character development but Idk whether him killing off would give the same effect on other characters (mainly chuuya)
If we're talking about dazai, bsd is def his redemption arc. Yes, him dying and saving everyone but himself would be poetic ngl but it'd be a pity if his life is thrown away like that, interrupting that arc. he really never forgot what oda said before dying.
There's this Tumblr post talking about Dazai's potential death that I really admire and think it's poetic but I can't help but feel sorry for him cuz he's my fav character after all and m pretty sure his death is gonna hurt. Not only from my point of view but also for bsd characters'
ppl saying "chuuya is pretending that he's still a vampire and he's secretly now working with dazai cuz dazai's speech awakened him" give me one. just fkn one logical explanation to this apart from the power of love wth????
And das dazai being so desperate to be called babygirl and all flirty flirty w this sigma at the most inappropriate time imaginable. I love him sm istg.
Ah yes and here's another beautiful panel of fyodor that will eventually be turned into a living nightmare by bones
IN THE END I WANT TO SAY THAT THIS IS SOCIETY IF THE ADA LISTENED TO RANPO AND REFUSED THE JOB

Anyone else would recognize the severity and seriousness of that threat. Akutagawa certainly would. So would Odasaku and Ango. Hell, even Mori would.
Chuuya just rolls his eyes.
“You really can’t stand someone knowing something you don’t, can you?” Dazai doesn’t answer, which is a damning ‘yes’ if Chuuya’s smirk is anything to go by. “Fine, fine. “You’re always saying how you’re going to kill me,” Dazai murmured, his expression drifting for a long moment. Chuuya clenched his jaw, not entirely liking where his partner was going with this. Then, Dazai’s eyes returned to Chuuya, fixing him with a tired honesty that had something in Chuuya’s chest twisting. “Would you do me a favour and fulfill that promise already?”

He kept coming back. But that’s not how this whole thing was supposed to go. It was supposed to be out, out brief candle. Not having that candle turn into a forest fire that engulfed all previous senses. And now Dazai was the poor player still strutting on the stage, being dragged by strings this time by a new passion and pain. If his life were such a show, the playwright or bard would see that his was far too grueling to keep him living. They’d swiftly put him out of his pain and the audience would be satisfied and feel something Dazai would never be able to reach. But this wasn’t a play. This was a coffee shop.
Part-time barista, full-time suicide enthusiast Dazai is miffed when an unfairly attractive hothead of a stranger not only stops his suicide attempt but is now a regular at his workplace. It's made even worse that his presence is just making it difficult for Dazai to actually get to it.

Who is your favorite character from bsd?
Hello!!! GREAT question hahahahahaha (pretending this question doesn't keep me up at night). i have a few to say the least. Here's them in random order (except for dazai)
-Osamu Dazai: for me dazai is like a life changing character. I can confidently say he changed my brain structure and chemistry permanently. maybe it's how he struggles with being genuinely good and how hard he tries. maybe it's how he masks his inner turmoil with a clown facade. maybe it's because, despite all the grief and all the pointlessness he sees in life, he tries so hard to stay alive, to do good and to honor the promise he made to his friend. he's a character that was written for people like me, he's a babygirl, i want to hug him and i want to see him suffer and i want to study him under a microscope
-Sakunosuke Oda: i was really drawn to him in the anime but what cemented him as one of my favourites was reading the dark era ln. His internal monologue is so bizarre and whimsical and genuinely funny and so charming. I'm enamored with him and i understand why dazai loved him as much as he did as well. In the end I really love a well executed tragedy too and oda's story is a beautiful tragedy.
-Nikolai Gogol: guess i have a thing for entps being one myself but I'm head over heels for kolya. I've genuinely never seen a character like him before. he's so unpredictable and while he's seemingly unhinged and violent, i think the glimpses of the person behind that behaviour are fascinating. I genuinely consider his interaction with atsushi where he tells him that he has guilt and feels emotions just like everybody else and how he craves freedom, one of the best character moments in the whole manga tbh. His character design is beautiful too, very hard not to love
-Ryonousuke Akutagawa: there's so much pain in akutagawa, it is impossible for me to not like him. he's so lost, so far away from the path of the light. he begins by trying to prove himself to dazai and he's so so hurt and so alone. and he finds atsushi... their rp is the heart and lungs and soul of the manga I'm so serious about this. and specifically the way they influence eachother to become better versions of themselves. akutagawa being the only one atsushi can be the most genuine version of himself with. the way he honors his promise to not kill anyone until their fight. his character is still developing and I'm SEATED to watch it all the way which also brings me to .....
-Atsushi Nakajima: i adore atsushi. I've never seen such a raw and visceral portrayal of trauma, the long term consequences it comes with and the issues it leaves people with. he feels worthless and insecure and we see how much this impacts him. he deals with things that are considered scary and he's just a great example of the fact that mental illness affects primarily the people who have it and doesn't cause them to be violent or whatever ( the fact that he canonically hallucinates is also so so so important i just love these things about his character). Same thing as aku, his rp w aku is the heart and soul of bsd as a story. I specifically love how he impacts aku in such a positive way, but also how we see his more snappy and sassy side with aku that he usually hides from others. Lovely protagonist too, atsushi you will always be famous
-Chuuya Nakahara: i love chuuya to death. Like it's concerning sometimes. I used to be a bit unsettled by him because i couldn't understand how a person like him who seems like a person with morals and loyalty and so much love in him, ended up in the horrific world of the mafia. And then i read fifteen and stormbringer. And my heart broke for this boy. I'm rooting for him to find another path tbh but idk how that will go. He's made for the world of the light and I'll die on this hill. Soukoku is also like a brain chemistry altering ship. The way they trust each other and the way they bicker like an old couple and the way he brings out dazai's protective side (stormbringer rooftop scene and fifteen arcade scene you'll always be famous). Chuuya is a storm, you can't look away, he's so beautiful and I'm just as obsessed with him as dazai is. Just like everything else i really love how he isn't scared to call dazai out on his bs, how kind he is to aku and how much he cares about people. It's so hard not to love chuuya
-Sigma: I'm still waiting for more information to be revealed about sigma but from what I've seen he's up there with the rest of them. He's similar to atsushi in some regards which makes him easily lovable to me. He also regards himself lowly because he believes that amongst these superhumans around him, he's painfully average and ordinary. That's a very relatable sentiment even if you're not surrounded be people with superpowers. Combined with the fact that he's desperately looking for a place to belong, it's so hard not to love sigma. I really hope he gets to join the agency, that would be wonderful for his character.
Thanks for the question and sorry for dumping all of this on you!

My take on Dazai’s bandages.
‘Cos everyone has to have one, right? Right. And I can’t say I haven’t spent a while thinking about this.
Like juuuust about everything else about Dazai, I think the bandages are multipurpose.
Firstly - you have to remember that Dazai cannot be magically healed. He’s like the only guy in the entire setting that cannot receive magic healing of any kind. His power just nullifies it.
That means that any and every time he gets hurt...it has to heal the slow way. He’s also suicidal and has been for quite some time. So yes, I do think some of those bandages are working at their intended purpose. Probably at any given time Dazai’s healing from at least one injury; it’s not like he’s ever in a low-risk job, after all, or that he ever shies away from potentially being shot or knifed.
No, I do not think Dazai’s into cutting. Cutting is, at its core, about using external pain as a distraction from internal pain. Dazai’s been very clear and on the record about not liking pain. So while I’m reasonably certain he’s got suicide attempt scars on his forearms, they’re going to be the ‘down the block’ variety, not ‘across the street’, and honestly I think the bandages are just there so no one sees the scars. I think the ones at his throat are likely in the same vein - literally. Ugly, visible scars that suggest having tried to cut his own throat, or rope burns from attempting to hang himself.
Dazai is overtly suicidal, but he hates it when other people talk to him about his death wish. He deflects almost immediately if a topic’s brought up that would make someone (who’d care) start thinking “but what if”. He wants to die, yes, but he doesn’t want other people worrying about him dying.
Bandages hide more than scars. This is, I think, the major secondary purpose of his bandages. He’s canonically hidden all kinds of things in those wrappings, from lockpicks to body armor. Dazai is a huge lover of misdirection, and his bandages are very definitely part of that love. People see bandages, and they think wounds, weakness. Or they see the placement and think ‘crazy, suicidal’. Either way, they are not thinking ‘dangerous opponent’. Dazai has generally loved it when his enemies underestimate him; it’s like they’re doing half of his job for him, and he’s canonically lazy.
This actually extends to his Mafia days habit of keeping one eye bandaged. It’s an old swordsman’s trick (I think the books mention Fukuzawa is fond of this one, too) to keep one eye closed when outside, so that when you go indoors you can see even if it’s much darker there - your closed eye doesn’t have to adjust to the dimness, and it’s therefore harder to take you by surprise.
And we know that in his mafia days, Dazai was a LOT more paranoid than he is now.
Lastly, though, I think the bandages give other people something to see.
I ...may have to explain this. Y’see, when I watch Dazai, I see a character who only likes to be noticed on his own terms. If he’s jacknifed in a barrel, it’s because he wants you to see him that way. But sometimes he doesn’t have control over other people seeing him in what are, basically, ridiculous or foolish situations. (Like, forex, getting caught in a trawler net because he was trying to drown himself again. Or being seen being moody at Oda’s grave.)
Dazai will usually resort to jokes and/or clowning at times like this, because he wants to SEE, but does not want to BE SEEN. (One can speculate as to the why of that all one likes; whether he’s sure that being seen will mean being hated, or mocked, or whatever. The why is secondary to the what; the man does not like feeling Seen.)
I think the bandages are, in a way, his shield against the world. They’re part of the persona he creates. Something he can make you see that isn’t HIM, not really.

Somewhere to put my Dazai headcanon.
So I'll start off by saying that this is a personal hc. it's not canon or anything like that please don't @me. Having said that, let's move on.
Dazai hc/bsd fic idea, etc whatever_ so no one gets depressed out of nowhere and whatnot, not to mention his mysterious past, etc, etc, so what if…. he remembers all the AUs he created for Oda, well somethings gotta give so what if the show isn’t actually entirely the true og verse, or maybe it could be; so anyways he got his hands on ‘The Book’ and went on this journey and created so many worlds just for him, so the Book in a sense is God’s book and this world is the story written down in its pages and we’re all the characters there, so one can’t deal so long with such an artifact and remain the same and I feel as though not many can actually even handle it even if they want to. So in a sense, he is a pseudo god almost/somewhat, in that he is functionally immortal, in the sense that nothing can kill him.
Nothing can remain unchanged, but the Book should rewrite the universe for the writer and I believe no one would properly remember not even the writer, for the previous world no longer truly exists and never actually did since it’s been erased, like pencil lines from a book. So he kept meeting Oda in every world and got attached and would rewrite the world for him not remembering the previous timeline, until at one point he slowly started to retain his memories, first in half-remembered bits and pieces and later in its entirety till he even started remembering the forgotten timelines too. The Beast AU was the only one where he could save him by forcing himself to stay away, and the show is actually his final closure he decided to get peace cause after all these worldlines he is tired, that’s where the suicidal tendencies come in. My dude is just tired of life at this point, he’s lived too long and suffered too much, made worse by the fact that he can’t actually die(cause ding ding ding, he’s immortal), thus the blaise attitude toward his life being in danger added on the fact that he’s gone through terrifying and dangerous shit too many times and too many times in too many different flavours to really be worried.
I hc that he was more cautious in the og verse and somewhat more serious as in personality wise and about death(back then the only trauma was his own shitty asf childhood and issues with his seeming psychopathy(in the medical sense)). Now he is in short basically a pseudo god in that,....think of it like this, God is the only one who can make change to the book that is the world, this book being made using pages cut from the fabrics of reality itself bound in a cover to hold the immense weight of the power and responsibility it holds, so one man kept finding this book over and over again even though he retained no memory of the previous worldline(s), that doesn’t make senses; so with every attempt his very being itself changed as the book injected parts of the realities into him and bit by bit bound him to the story that was his world meaning that he is literally tied to the universe itself and invulnerable to the Book’s changes and shifts as an author should be, for the author changes the book and it’s world not the other way around, now the thing is that he cannot supersede the true author of the Book who made it, that is impossible, but the Book and it’s powers can now no longer entirely influence him and he is functionally immortal, with the only thing one can do to kill him is destroy their universe, not worldline or timeline no, but the entire universe(multiverse) itself and every world, universe and timeline within it, basically destroying the true book of the true authour itself(why do I say true author, well the Book isn’t the true book of the worldline but more of a drafts book a segment of its power, no one other that God could have or use or even see the true book). That’s where No Longer Human comes from as well in the sense that it is meant literally that he is no longer human but something else, the ability being the invulnerability to the Book and all power connected to it, that is how he can nullify all abilities in that they cannot affect him at all.(all the abilities are connected to the book obv in that they are allowed a connection to it to draw power in their specific manner from it, abilities are basically after all like twists in reality itself so it all comes from the book but you cannot change it, that’s true, I mean thing ok its like this, killing a man with a touch doesn’t make sense, you’re basically twisting reality into giving you what you want by changing it, it is watered down and done through hoops and obstacles in such a way that no comes close to directly changing or connecting to it and thus the only way you can rewrite the world line is by writing in it directly so no one actually rewrites worldlines by using their abilities). This is also why he is considered special even though people don’t know anything, because once you truly think about it his existence doesn’t make sense as an anti-ability is in direct contrast to an ability itself being its direct antithesis and (unknowing to other people) the Book itself because he is in a sense somewhat free from its constraints and changes and abilities(more of a halfway selective(by the book)thing).
Note that this might seem disjointed, that's cause the hc literally possessed me till I wrote it down so I apologise for the word vomit. Again I'll add that this is a headcanon meaning it's not canon, I mean I wouldn't mind it being canon, but like Ik there ain't a snowball's chance in hell that'll happen. Ik I've been reaching pretty far with some of these but still. So yeah, I hope y'all were at least somewhat able to make sense of that. Thanks for reading this mess.
Have a good day folks.

Bungo Stray Dogs Season 2 Anime Review
This Includes Spoilers
First off I didn't know what to expect going into the 2nd season but I was jsut as hooked as I was on the first one probably even more so. You get to see a bit of when Dazai was in the mafia as well as his friend and mentor Sakunosuke Oda and honestly he was my favorite starting this season off. Not only was he nothing like the rest of the mafia but he had heart and passion and I'm not gonna lie I had teears in my eyes when he died and Dazai was holding him. I loved their friendshhip but for the first time I realized the only one who had given his life meaning enough was Sakunosuke and he even told him he gave him the will to want to live.
Then when he had to watch that van blow up with those kids he was taking of in it I was in tears. Like the way it broke him I was stunned how much I loved his character so fast. I understood why he wanted to take the men out that did it I would have done the same thats loyalty and that was his kids. I also know Dazai was scared for him to go and for Ogai Mori to be behind holding Dazai away from him longer than he needed be but also being the culprit that sent the guys there from mimics group to kill them kids. You could see the disgust in Daza's eyes towards him. Then as he was holding Sakunosuke in his arms making the promise that he would fight on the good side that was amazing like that was such an amazing friendship that those few words and Dazai walked away from the mafia no questions asked. Also put in there Sakunosuke was also attractive just like the rest of these men.. lol.
Then lets talk about the relationship between Atsushi & Kyouka these two have been one of my favorite couples even from season one. They are a few years apart but I feel like he understands her better than everyone else. They are good together and both of them will die for each other thats why even though they are not officially together I haven't seen either one of them kill, plan to kill, or try to die to protect the other besides for each other. I hope in later seasons they really become a thing cause I think both need each other I mean in the time where she tried to give her life to save him and you can tell it destroyed him so when he saw her and he ran to hold her yeah sorry Atsushi you just told this girl you loved her, now lets just see if she understands coming the next season after with her mind being on killing people all the time.
On to the next thing I loved about this season Doppo Kunikida I liked him before and even said I thought he was attractive but the one episode where he saves the little girl but then turns around and it looks like he has to sacrifice her yet he hugs and tells her he will die with her. I mean yeah they didn't die but this man melted my heart like really and then it was so cute when she like wanted to be with him and he's like rejected! lol. He can be funny but I do hope he eventually finds love because he proves that he has a good heart towards people he loves. Like how can you not love this man after this.
Then the little bit I touched upon before Jun'ichirō Tanizaki willing to burn the world and saying this to save Naomi. This man showed how perfect his loyalty is and I love him for that. Like I don't care sister or not he is in love with her and she is in love with him and she will do anything for him and he will kill everyone if he as to in the end to save her. I respect this man so much in his passion and love for one person. He has some pretty cool powers too not gonna lie.
Then there is Atsushi and Akutagawa who have to fight together and even though it is hard to see Akutagawa ever truly being nice he was actually nicer to Atsushi than anyone else well besides Dazai that he wants to praise him so bad. The fact that he saved Atsushi's life told me this man isn't as bad as he seems. Like I really love his character and I hope in time he gets better and more depth. He looks like a badass, he is a badass, and sexy as hell doin it too. I also think apart of him deep down respects Atsushi for going up against him in season 1 and not backing down.
Then there is the fact Chuuya is in this alot more this season him and his hot self. You also get to see no matter how much him and Dazai talk about hating each other when Dazai gets injured Chuuya is right there to check on him. You can tell deep down they are friends no matter what. Also Chuuya trusts him enough to bring him back after his powers take him over. It was really cool to see how much of a badass he is too. Also the taking of the gloves off this is like ah!!!
There were a bunch of other little things to but these are the parts that stood out the most to me and made me love this season even more than the first. I will say this again this is normally not my kind of show but I feel like you go in so much depth with these characters you fall in love with them even when you didn't plan to. Its funny because this is now my all time favorite anime and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Romantically speaking, which BSD character do you think it's more compatible with you?
hello cathy!!!
aaaaa thank you for this ask hehe! 🤭🤭
sorry it's a bit late. I try to take a break from tumblr sometimes (usually on Sundays) but yea 💞👍
I actually spent some time thinking about this yesterday.
and I came up with 2 answers.
1.)
(I so badly wanted to put a smiling picture of Odasaku but it's from pinterest and I'm not sure who the OG artist is so 😔)
but anyways!!!
Odasaku.
He strikes me as the 'ride or die' kind of friend. Whenever Dazai wants to do something crazy, Oda goes along with it and is SO CALM. He can be goofy with Dazai and Ango. In Dark Era, Dazai once drugged their food and when Dazai offered to cook again, Ango was like "NO!" but Oda was literally just like, "If it keeps you from getting tired, then it must be good."
Oda is a listener. He listens a lot and is VERY observant. He's good at understanding other people BUT he also doesn't act like he knows everything about them.
I like that.
Tbh I want more adventure in my life. I think Oda would be very good and understanding with me 🤭 If I think of doing something crazy, he might go along with it and help me. He's very calm even in stressful situations so that would help me a lot.
I'm also a listener-type-of-person so we would listen to each other. I'd listen to all his cool backstories and ask him questions about the book he's writing. We can help each other make stories haha.
He has low self esteem but I can support him and try to make him feel better.
I want him to treat me like how he treats Dazai.
Unless it's a life-or-death situation, he doesn't force Dazai to do anything. He's 100% honest and doesn't try to control Dazai or manipulate things. He's usually always on board and doesn't judge when Dazai says something crazy.
I want that. I don't want him to treat me like a kid/control things for me/lie to me and I want him to spoil me.
I think he's the type to remember everything even if it's just a small detail. 💞
Lastly, he's brutally honest but he says it in a calm, non-aggressive way.
Oda is also the kind of person who you can confront without worrying.
He's very caring and considerate.
I think we could work well together 👍
The next person is..
2.)
Nikolai Gogol!!!
I mentioned earlier that I want more adventure in my life.
Nikolai can definitely help with that 🤭
He's so chaotic, bubbly, and goofy!!
I like goofy people who are loud and make jokes.
Nikolai is VERY EXPRESSIVE when it comes to people he likes.
He doesn't get shy at holding Fyodor's hands or saying out loud in front of everyone that Fyodor is his << dearest friend >>
I like that! If he was my partner, he'd probably tell everyone about it and hug me a lot --- which I like 💗 (I really like hugs lol)
Besides being goofy and funny, He's also very philosophical.
We can talk together about the deep things of life ✨
Lastly,
with Fyodor, Nikolai continues to stay on Fyodor's side even though Fyodor doesn't respond with the same energy.
Sometimes I get drained or busy and I don't feel like responding right away.
Even if I seen zone Nikolai or send dry texts, he won't get mad at me and he'll be the same as always.
He's okay even if he cares about me more than I care about him.
My mom told me,
<< find someone who's more in love with you than you are with them so that you won't get hurt as much>>
Ik this may sound toxic to some but dw, I'll treat him better than Fyodor.
AND OFC -- I'll actually care about him. ❤️
It might be hard to connect with him at first because he is a criminal but I think he'd be fun (fictionally speaking) to have a relationship with.
Also..
I like clingy people but not *too clingy.*
Nikolai is clingy and he will always express to you that he likes you.
I like that and at the same time,
I like that he doesn't get mad when Fyodor doesn't act as clingy as him.
He still shows Fyodor affection even if Fyodor doesn't like him back lol.
*****
TLTR: Oda and Nikolai ❤️
***
Thank you for the ask!
I really enjoyed doing this :D
also I'm not really that toxic btw :")
I just don't like "clingy" when they get mad over little things like seen-zones or expect you to always be there for them.
that's all <3
#thank you for the ask!#i love it#feel free to be honest w me btw :D#Ik we're very different and thats what makes it interesting <3#im going to send you an ask too :D <3#long asks#ask
