Is cerave hydrating facial cleanser good for sensitive skin ?
CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser is considered good for sensitive skin due to its specific formulation and ingredients that help maintain the skin's natural moisture barrier while gently cleansing. Here are a few reasons why it is suitable for sensitive skin:
1. Gentle and non-irritating:
The cleanser is designed to be gentle on the skin, as it does not contain harsh ingredients such as sulphates or fragrances that can potentially irritate sensitive skin. It has a mild, non-foaming formula that helps avoid stripping the skin of its natural oils.
2. Hydrating properties:
One of the key benefits of the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser is its ability to provide hydration while cleansing. It contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid, which helps attract and retain moisture in the skin, preventing it from becoming dry or tight after washing. This is especially beneficial for sensitive skin that tends to be more prone to dryness and irritation.
3. Ceramides for skin barrier support:
This cleanser also includes ceramides, which are essential lipids naturally found in the skin's barrier. Ceramides help maintain the skin's protective barrier function, preventing moisture loss and protecting against external irritants. By incorporating ceramides into the cleanser, CeraVe aims to strengthen the skin's barrier, which can be beneficial for sensitive skin that is easily compromised.
4. Non-comedogenic:
The formulation of CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser is non-comedienne, meaning it is unlikely to clog pores or contribute to acne breakouts. This is important for individuals with sensitive skin, as they may be more prone to pore blockages and breakouts when using heavy or pore-clogging products.
5. Dermatologist-developed:
CeraVe is a brand that works closely with dermatologists in developing their products. This collaboration ensures that the cleanser is formulated with sensitive skin in mind, aiming to provide effective yet gentle care.
While CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser is generally well-tolerated by sensitive skin, it's important to remember that individual reactions can vary. It's always a good idea to perform a patch test before fully incorporating any new skincare product into your routine, especially if you have known allergies or sensitivities. If you have specific concerns or conditions related to your skin, consulting a dermatologist is recommended for personalised advice.

Review: CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser is a must-have product for anyone looking for a gentle yet effective way to cleanse their skin. This foaming cleanser is designed to remove dirt, oil, and makeup without stripping the skin of its natural oils. One of the first things that stands out about this product is its unique formula. It contains ceramides, which are an essential component of the skin’s…

simple skincare routine (+ product recommendations based of skin types)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hi angels! skincare has been a big passion of mine since i was around twelve and began to develop some hormonal skincare issues. these really made me insecure and i still struggle with my skin. but being consistent and developing my routine, working out my skin type, eating with my skin as a focus and trial and error has got me to a place where im much much happier with my skin - and id love to share some tips and products with you!! remember your skin is exposed to so much and such a delicate part of your body, treat it with the love and respect it deserves. ˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
firstly: figuring out your skin type
im not exaggerating when i say the basis of a good skincare routine is knowing your skin type. it makes it easier to buy products, work out what your skin needs and how to achieve the look you want.
dermatologists agree that there are four skin types:
oily (skin produces more oils and sebum).
dry (produces less oils and sebum).
normal (produces a normal amount of oils and sebum).
combination (areas of skin which are dry and areas that are sebum heavy/oily).
so…
how do you work out your skin type?
well there are two easy at home methods!
watch and wait (requires cleanser): wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat dry. wait for half an hour or so and observe your skin. shiny all over = oily. tight and perhaps flaky = dry. shine in t zone = likely combination. hydrated and comfortable but not too oily = normal.
blotting sheet method (requires blotting sheets and cleanser): wash face with gentle cleanser, pat dry and waist for half an hour or so. press blotting sheets to chin, cheeks, forehead etc and examine the oil left on the sheets. lots of oil = oily. almost no oil/no oil = dry. oil mostly in t zone = combination. minimal all over face = normal.
˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
secondly: building a routine
now youve worked out what skin type you have it’s time to build a routine! i personally have combination skin that verges more on the dry side.
my am and pm skincare routines look like this…
am: cleanser, ice face, oil face and do gentle gua sha routine, moisturiser and spf. applying facial sanitising spray regularly throughout the day.
pm: double cleanse, ice face (only if feeling puffy/sore), moisturiser, 1 - 2 spot treatments and sanitise face.
am products:
cerave hydrating cleanser.
corsx moisturiser (great for dry and spot prone skin, little goes along way).
la roche posay spf 50+.
jojoba face oil.
vital baby face spray.
pm products:
la roche posay effclar duo.
avene hydrance aqua cream.
two over the counter spot treatments.
you may need to cleanse your face more/less, use less moisturiser etc. developing your skin care routine is through trial and error, just be observant of your skin and take notes on any effects or changes a product seems to have.
˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
thirdly: product recommendations
here’s a list of some product recommendations! some i have personally tried (they will be starred), others are popular ones based of your skin type loved by many.
cleansers
dry: cerave hydrating cleanser ⟡
oily: la roche posay effclar duo cleanser ⟡
combination: neutrogena skin balancing purifying gel cleanser
normal: paulas choice perfectly balanced foaming cleanser.
toner
dry: laneige cream skin toner
oily: body shop tea tree toner ⟡
combination: innisfree green tea toner
normal: la roche posay toner
moisturisers
dry: corsx moisturiser ⟡
oily: glow watermelon pink juice moisturiser
combination: byoma moisturising gel cream
normal: la roche posay cicaplast baume B5+ ⟡
spf
la roche posay spf 50+
black girl sunscreen
supergoop unseen sunscreen
˚₊‧꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
thank you for reading angels! feel free to give any skincare product recommendations or reviews. im planning on doing an in-depth personal skincare routine post soon. hopefully you enjoyed!!
love, m.

Update Skincare
Sejak treatment ADHD, rutinitas gue sehari-hari jauh membaik.
Cleansing
Gue rutin double cleansing. Pake apa? Kalo seharian makeupnya ringan, gue pake micellar water. Ntar kalo agak berat, gue bersihin pake cleansing balm. Micellar water gue pake merk random aja yang kelihatan di supermarket. Sementara cleansing balm-nya pake Heimish.
Setelah pake micellar water atau cleansing balm, gue bersihin muka pakai facial foam. Facial foamnya pake Cerave yang Hydrating Facial Cleanser.
Exfoliating
Gue awalnya cukup bingung milih exfoliator. Sekarang, gue rutin pake Some By Mi yang Bye Bye Blackhead seminggu dua kali. Dulu di hidung gue tuh sering banget ada komedo. Sejak dua bulan pakai Some By Mi, komedonya ilang dan kulit muka berasa lebih bersih.
Moisturizing

do you have any tips on hormonal pimples? or like teen pimples (idk what they r called) because i have so much of them but none of these toners and serums are helping.
Make sure to wash your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser. Avoid scrubbing your skin too hard, this can make acne worse.
Look for products that are labeled as "non-comedogenic," which means they won't clog your pores. This is especially important for makeup and moisturizers.
Products containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid may be helpful in treating acne. Start with a lower strength and gradually increase if needed.
Prescription strength retinoids can be very effective in treating acne, but they can be irritating to the skin. Talk to your doctor and start with a lower strength and use as directed.
Here are some product recommendations:
Cleansers:
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash
Moisturizers:
Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat Mattifying Moisturizer
Salicylic Acid Products:
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution
Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
Benzoyl Peroxide Products:
Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel
Acne.org 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment
Non-Comedogenic Sunscreen:
Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30
EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46
Spot Treatments:
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment
The food you eat is super important for how your body's hormones work. Hormones are messengers that your body makes to control your growth, metabolism etc. They travel through your blood and tell different parts of your body what to do. Eating a good mix of healthy foods helps keep these hormones in check. Things like protein, good fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals help make and control hormones. For example protein is needed for hormones like insulin and growth hormone, while healthy fats help with hormones like estrogen and testosterone.
Also, when you're stressed a lot, your body makes more of a hormone called cortisol, which can mess up other hormones. Moving your body through exercise can help with hormones by reducing stress and making you feel happy. Also, sleep is really important. Not getting enough sleep can mess up hormones that control hunger and fullness.
So, eating healthy foods, managing stress, staying active, and getting enough sleep are all really important. They help keep your hormones in balance and make sure your body works well.
Most importantly, don't let acne affect your self-esteem. You are beautiful just the way you are! Pimples are very normal and they do not take away from how amazing you are <3

Have you ever shown us your skincare? Please do if you didn’t 😶 also do you know a good face moisturizer?
i haven't 🤭 haven't really shown much of my skin here, at least up close 😂 mines very simple though!!
Step 1:Face wash: cerave foaming facial cleanser
Step 2: Toner: The Ordinary Milky Toner (this helped get rid of the dry flakies i was getting on my forehead)
Step 3: Moisturizer: cerave daily moisturizer mixed with a tiny little bit of aloe vera gel and when my skin is extra irritated from like the sun or the wind I'll use more of the aloe.
For the rest of my body I use Aveeno's calming lavender (doesn't smell like real lavendar thankfully lol) and O'Keefe's Skin Repair because my ~body~ skin tends to lean towards the dry side and it makes me physically nauseous when I can feel that it's dry lol

Trans Acne/Skin Care Routine
I (re) started Testosterone one month ago, and my face has started to break out a bit more than I'm used to. I thought I'd share the skincare routine/products that have been helping manage my acne and heal with minimal scarring. Everyone has different needs, but I hope this can help someone else the way it's helped me.
I use Testosterone PMP (1.62%) for my gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT). This is an alcohol-based gel that I apply to my shoulder/upper arms as instructed by my doctor. This formula can dry out your skin, so moisturizing is very important!
Morning | Everyday
soak face with warm water
apply CeraVe Foaming Face Cleanser (for Oily Skin, Hyaluronic Acid, Fragrance Free) with clean hands only
rinse with warm water and gentle hands
pat face dry with a clean towel
apply a little (about the size of the tip of my index finger) Palmer's Cocoa Butter Daily Skin Therapy to your face; and then apply as needed elsewhere
Night | Everyday
take a hot shower (steam helps)
apply Clean & Clear Oil Free Deep Action Cream Facial Cleanser with clean hands or with a clean, soft rag (I only use a rag every other day at most; this is for gentle exfoliation - no harsh scrubbing) to your face and body
rinse with warm water and gentle hands
once out of the shower, pat cold water onto your face and then pat dry with a clean towel
(optional) once fully dry, apply your testosterone as prescribed
apply Palmer's Cocoa Butter Daily Skin Therapy to face and elsewhere as needed (avoid where you've applied your T gel. You shouldn't moisturize the area for at least 4 hours after application)
(optional) allow your skin to dry for at least 10 minutes before dressing
[note: I apply my T at night because I don't currently sleep with a partner so it's the most convenient time for me. other folks might apply theirs in the morning]

no one asked but here's my skincare routine xx 🌚 (including pictures of all the products !)
Tumblr media
i'm a teen with acne-prone slightly sensitive skin that gets oily by the end of the day🧖‍♀️
(i'm 99% sure i'm allergic to salicylic acid bc it didn't help with my breakouts/caused them so i avoid it in my routine❕)
as a makeup remover i use the elf holy hydration makeup melting balm 🚿
Tumblr media
& a makeup eraser cloth 🧽
Tumblr media
for stubborn waterproof eye makeup i use garnier skin active micellar cleaning water all-in-1 waterproof (aka the blue one) i have a huge bottle of it :)💧
Tumblr media
(i want to start using reusable cotton rounds so pls lmk of any good brands !)
i just ran out but if i haven't worn makeup but my pores feel especially clogged i use the burt's bees oil cleanser 🥥 (you do have to double cleanse with a water based cleanser afterwards !)
Tumblr media
for a daily water-based facial cleanser i use two different ones
the cerave foaming facial cleanser 🧼 "oil control" on the bottle is no joke ! i don't get oily in the day anymore bc of the niacinamide in this :)
Tumblr media
but it can be a little drying/strong so i mix it with the cetaphil gentle skin cleanser 🛁
Tumblr media
i use this really cheap & generic silicone face scrubber for my nostrils/chin/sideburn-hairline area 🧽
Tumblr media
once a week i use this scrub pixi peel and polish its a mask with physical and chemical exfoliants
it smells like lemon cucumber water🥒 and can also be used for body acne on the chest, back, & arms !!
Tumblr media
once a week i use an AHA chemical exfoliant it's elf supertone toner 🌝 it has glycolic acid and is has a little bit of a lemony scent
Tumblr media
what i use as a daily toner is thayer's rose-scented witch hazel spray 💌 it calms down any redness i have instantly !
Tumblr media
i used to use the cerave daily moisturizing lotion but it was a little oily and it was impossible to apply makeup on 🧘 so now i use it on my hands before doing my facial moisturizer
Tumblr media
and for that i use a mix of elf holy hydration gel-yeah moisturizer and elf holy hydration face cream 💦 it's pretty self-explanatory but the former is a clear gel and the latter is a white cream, i adjust the proportions for my moisture needs :) ⛲️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in the winter or if my face feels dry or in need of healing i use clinique moisture surge overnight face mask 🦪
Tumblr media
"mask" is a little misleading as you just apply it with your moisturizer like any other lotion 🧴 it's super hydrating, it's a little expensive but i got it as a gift and a little goes a long way ! :)
after a breakout has healed completely i use a little bio oil on top of my moisturizer to fade any dark spots/scars 🐚
Tumblr media
after i shower and exfoliate my lips i use this random lip mask from bath and body works that's watermelon scented 🍉 it's thick (a little goes a long way) and yummy
Tumblr media
i also use smith's rosebud salve in this tin 🌹 it's like a nice scented vaseline
Tumblr media
i don't use it all the time bc it's expensive but i love the mario badescu caffeine eye cream💆it's so good for my sunken dark circles ! but avoid getting it in your eye and keeping it in the bathroom bc it curdles if it gets too hot from shower steam
Tumblr media
for active acne spots i use might patch pimple patches 🩹regular for whiteheads and micropoint ones for swollen spots under the skin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
those are pretty expensive so for smaller spots i use mario badescu drying lotion overnight 🫧
Tumblr media
i'm pretty bad at remembering sunscreen in the morning but i just got the glow recipe dew balm with spf 45 and niacinamide 🌸 i love the glow and the light fruity scent :)
Tumblr media
i do want mention that my life-saver game-changer for stopping cystic acne (those painful lumps deep in the skin) and just acne in general has been hormonal birth control pills ! after i started BC for pcos/hormonal reason all of my breakouts decreased significantly🪽
Tumblr media
tysm for reading !! 🕊️ xx

✦2022 beauty favorites✦
Nyahello ヽ(o^▽^o)ノ!! Last year I went through makeup like it was nothing and finally found brands that I really liked and a makeup style to compliment me and my style. It was totally fun and I just love doing my makeup everyday or whenever I have the time. One of the best hobbies I've picked up so far. This is ultimately just going to be a list of my favorite products that I use everyday. I hope it helps if you’ve been having a hard time getting into makeup yourself plus most of these products are stuff you can find at the drugstore which is always a plus.
First I'm going to talk about skin prep because preparing your skin is just as important as using good products. These products work for me but may nor work for you which is totally fine and why you should always find what works for you and incorporate it into your routine.
First is cleanser. I’ve used a lot of cleansers and have a few favorites but my top two are the CeraVe foaming facial cleanser. It's very good at cleansing but doesn’t leave my skin dry and tight afterwards. I also love the dove sensitive skin bar. It's perfect for sensitive skin like mine. I mostly use it in the winter when my skin is the driest.
Next is moisturizer. I've used a couple of these and have my own very specific moisturizing routine. Because my skin gets really dry, I use oil and a moisturizer after I wash my face. I use a mix of coconut oil and shea butter on my face while it's still damp and then go over that with Dove nourishing face, hand, and boy cream. This method looks in moisture and leaves my skin so soft. I recommend this if you get really dry skin in the winter like me.
Next is primer. I've tried so many primers and absolutely love the elf power grip primer and the elf putty primer. The power grip primer is good for when you want your makeup to last all day. This primer is for you. I use it for my special events like prom, school dances and prom. The putty primer is good for everyday use and makes my base look so smooth and amazing.
Now I'm going to talk about base makeup. The perfect base elevates a look from a 3 to a 10.
I start off my base with my foundation. My favorite is the maybelline fit me matte. It's perfect for everyday makeup simple looks but also great for a fully glammed up look. Another one I recently bought and love love love is the fenty pro flit’r matte foundation. It's so good and lasts all day. I highly recommend getting it.
Next is concealer I use the elf camo concealer when i say its matte i mean it. It lasts all day but it does dry down pretty fast so I recommend putting it on one area at a time, blending it in and repeating on the next area.
The i set with the black radiance true complexion setting powder. I highly recommend this to dark skin people since it comes in a wide variety of shades. Honestly I recommend black radiance as a whole because of the shade range and how great all the products are all together.
I don't have a contouring palette i just use the brown eyeshadow out of an eyeshadow palette i was given for christmas a while ago
One staple I always have in my makeup collection is a rainbow palette. It doesn't matter where it's from, just have one with all the colors and you’ll be good. I highly recommend any of the Ucanbe palettes off amazon. They are super bright and pigmented and are so super amazing.
And lastly setting spray. I absolutely adore the M.A.C Prep and Prime Fix+ spray. It's so good for not only setting but also fixing makeup looks. It is a bit on the expensive side so I also recommend the Milani make it last setting spray, it's a great drug store alternative.
That's all for my current faves thanks for reading.

hi! saw your post and thought i would ask "👒do you have a skincare routine?"! hope your having a great day!
ask me
👒 do i have a skin care routine?
omg i love this question!
cerave cream to foam cleanser (if you use a towel to pat your face dry use one only for your face)
cocokind turmeric tonic (i’ve used the stick version but it kinda stains you yellow but really brightened my skin so i’m trying this out. i use the roller on my fingers rather than rolling it directly on my skin bc if any acne got opened up while washing it you don’t want to get any acne bacteria on the roller bc that’ll just spread it around your skin and we don’t want that. let it dry before doing the next step)
revolution 2% salicylic acid serum (i recommend a low % or else it will really dry your skin out and probably irritate it)
cerave hyaluronic acid serum (my holy grail it makes my skin look much brighter and plump and less dull)
cerave spf 30 moisturizing lotion (i mix this with the hyaluronic acid bc i find it not as moisturizing alone. use your sunscreen people!!! no matter the weather the sun can still damage your skin!!)
cocokind chia facial oil (i bought this but didn’t like the feeling on my skin so i’ve started using it under my eyes. when i dermaplane i like to use this so i’m not tugging at my skin and then cleanse it after)
i do the same steps at night just without the sunscreen. i swear by cerave bc it doesn’t clog your skin
* if anyone has tips or products for dark under eye circles please help a girl out pls *

Ok travel pro! Any tips for skin while flying? I flew home from Thanksgiving and my skin isn't doing well.
Hi! I have a few tips but remember I am not certified in skin care. I have done a lot of trial and error of the years though and have come up with a good system. I have combination skin, so I tend to be more oily in my T zone, but during the winter months I do get dry. I also have more acne prone skin. I tend to avoid fragrance in my skin care, and I have been using retinol for a while, too. I like to keep things simple, and I am pretty religious about my skin care. I also make sure to hydrate a good amount on days when I am flying.
Morning:
Face wash, toner, vitamin c serum, moisturizer, SPF
Night:
Oil Cleanser, face wash, toner, moisturizer, retinol (3x per week)
If you are interested in the products I use, I'll list them below:
Morning Face Wash: La Roche Posay Purifying Foaming Face Wash OR CeraVe Foaming Face Wash
Evening face wash: CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Face
Toner (AM/PM): SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray OR Farmacy Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Toner
Vitamin C Serum: C15 Vitamin C Super Booster
SPF: Every. Single. Face. Watery Lotion SPF 50
Moisturizer: Summer months: Invisible Finish Moisture Gel; Winter Months/Holy Grail Moisturizer: Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream
Oil Cleanser: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
Retinol from dermatologist, sometimes I will use a Retinoid (adapalene gel from any brand)
Few tips: if you use a BHA and a retinol/retinoid, wait about 20 minutes after you apply the toner before you apply the retinoid. You want the toner to fully absorb into the skin. If you have sensitive skin, start retinols in a pea size amount a few times a week.... You can mix it into your moisturizer or apply your moisturizer and then the retinol/retinoid. The SOS spray is my favorite, it's safe for sensitive skin and also helps with redness. The Elemis moisturizer is expensive, but it's well worth the price. It's really saved my skin and makeup sits really well under it. A small amount also goes a very long way. I tend to stick to gel moisturizers in the summer when it is warm.
For my overall body lotion the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration is my go-to. The large bottle goes a looooooong way. It's also great as a moisturizer for the face too!
But at the end of the day, remember this is what works for me and it might not be what works for you. If I suggest anything it's the SOS spray from Tower 28! And if you have acne prone skin, the CeraVe acne foaming face wash has benzyl peroxide in it, but it's not drying one bit! They have a 4% and 10% available, I use the 4% on my face and use the 10% on my back/chest when I break out sometimes.
