I’ve shared this bit of advice before, but it’s worth sharing again.
I am almost 8 years on HRT and before I even started taking estrogen, spiro, or progesterone, my doctor looked me in the eyes and asked a very important question…
She asked: “Do you want big boobs?”
I said yes, I wanted something that matched my frame.
She immediately told me: “Then do not go on a diet, maintain your fat, because your body will be using that and whatever you’re eating to build up your breasts and other features.”
And bless her because I’m rocking an H Cup these days.
So my trans girlies who are just starting out, I offer that bit of advice to you as well.

A few tips for young trans men/boys, transmascs, anybody who wants tips:
If somebody makes you insecure about your masculinity or manhood, 9/10 times, they're trying to sell you something (and the "something" won't be worth you fretting about)
Wash your face before shaving and use a good shaving cream. Always make sure your razors are sharp
Your body doesn't need to look like a Hollywood star's body. They are most certainly dehydrated, and they are not a realistic depiction of a masculine or male form
Dress in whatever way is most comfortable, including dressing like Adam Sandler
Military-grade is often used as a marketing scheme, save your money
If you aren't happy right now, one day you will be. This is a threat and a promise
Your emotions are not "good" or "bad," they are emotions. Let yourself feel them even if they are uncomfortable
Masculinity and/or being a man are yours to define, and I cannot stress how important it is to have a relationship with your masculinity and/or manhood that is defined by you
You're allowed to have any relationship with your pre-coming out self that you want or makes the most sense with your realization that you're trans

imagine that, for whatever reason, you suddenly duplicated. imagine that there’s another, living, breathing, identical, you, standing in front of you.
would you still be able to be mean to her? to say to her all the things you say to yourself? would you be able to insult her, tell her she’s worthless, and watch her cry?
no? but that’s you. exactly and precisely, identically you.
if you’re not able to do that then don’t do it to yourself either

So much trans advice I see online is mainly for trans femmes/trans women (in the vein like "estrogen will do x, t and z, be careful!" And things like "testosterone blockers will so these things too") and that's really awesome and I'm glad the girls got each other,
but most of the advice for trans guys i had to seek out myself. (And I still don't know like much past "testosterone makes you retain body heat" and I don't know about any of the other effects like stuff for trans girls being a diuretic and can make hydration harder most of the side effects lists for testosterone therapy don't mention those things despite my hours worth of research) And yeah it's good to do your own research, but like I have to get my warnings from scientific journals and whatnot. I'm not qualified to give any of the advice bc I'm still pre-everything (hormones, surgery). Like social transition is all I have rn. Anyway if there's any good like resources made by trans men/mascs for trans men/mascs please drop it below and we can help our fellow guys out! 🫶
But yeah any trans guys that can offer some health advice regarding post-op, hrt, effects of testosterone and so on, it'd be super appreciated!

One of my biggest pieces of advice for those taking injectable hormones is to make sure you're injecting at the right angle
For intramuscular (IM), you inject at a 90° angle.
For subcutaneous (SQ), you inject at a 45° angle.
Here is a graphic depicting what the angle of your injection should look like:

psa cause i’m seeing WAY too many people saying “ow taking off trans tape hurts so bad” “it’s peeling my skin/leaving abrasions” etc etc
TAKING OFF TRANS TAPE SHOULD NOT HURT
as someone who has incorrectly taken it off multiple times before to the point where it left huge red patches, blistering, and sometimes even bleeding: TAKE YOUR TRANS TAPE OFF CORRECTLY!!!
so here’s my guide as someone who’s been wearing it for around 2 years now, pretty much daily.
it takes time to do it correctly. it’s very time consuming and requires a lot of patience which is why i often wear tape for 5-7 days at a time instead of the recommended 3-4 days, because the removal process takes takes so fucking long. for me it can take around 15-20 minutes, however i do use 3 layers while some people might use 2.
you have to slather your tape in oil. like soak that shit. even if you think it’s enough oil, it’s not enough oil. oil up. you need more oil.
i recommend peeling from the corners first rather than just peeling from any old side. (if you round out the edges of your tape with scissors this doesn’t really apply).
pull SLOWLY. SLOWLY!!! yanking hard will leave abrasions and irritate your skin no matter how lubricated the tape itself is. it’s not like ripping off a bandaid. especially considering breasts are a generally pretty sensitive area. so always tug very slowly.
it should not hurt. it should not hurt. IT SHOULD NOT HURT!!! it’s perfectly normal for it to pinch a little bit, be itchy, or be uncomfortable, but actual stinging pain means you’re doing something wrong. usually because you’re pulling too fast or too hard or you didn’t use enough oil. if it starts to sting or hurt when you’re removing it, let go and apply more oil to the area.
massaging the edges of the tape and areas that you’re peeling from will loosen it a lot. ive found this to be particularly helpful when you start, so i usually apply slightly more oil to the borders and edges of the tape, so that the beginning removal is painless.
be careful around the areas under your arm - like sideboob areas. since trans tape pulls your breasts to the side rather than flattening them in front, if you remove it too harshly, it can cause severe abrasions where the boob has been pulled it to the side. it’s NOT fun and is painful pretty much every time you raise your arms etc. so be very careful and patient with those areas.
always wear nipple covers. this is a given but just in case anyone out there is going to be stupid: do NOT apply it directly over your nipples. the skin there is extremely delicate and it will get damaged even if you’re extremely careful. use nipple covers.
above all, be patient. it is a time consuming process and can be annoying or uncomfortable, but don’t rush. it is not worth it!! it is NOT fun to walk around with your boob areas stinging and irritated!! and it can make future trans tape application more difficult!! so give yourself ample time to do it.
good luck and i hope this helps ! stop taking off your trans tape incorrectly friends

transgender food stuffs!!
(just saying this,you shouldn't cut things entirely from your diet or eat only some things exclusively, you need to stay healthy all together yk? Most of these aren't scientifically proven or really studied at all so you can't expect them to replace hrt or anything. There's a list in the first place simply based off the fact that things in the foods have the possibility to help or lower E or T due to their ingredients chemically.)
foods that boost testosterone;
Milk, peanut butter, apples, onions, ginger, pomegranates, spinach, beans, red meat, olive oil, avocados, bananas, coca, coconuts, honey, berries, cherries, oysters, Brazil nuts, garlic, eggs, fish, porridge oats, grapes, pumpkin seeds, almonds
Foods that lower estrogen;
Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, kale, and bok choy, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, peas, beans, nuts, seeds, and potatoes with skin, fish and seafood, garlic, collard greens, turnips, green tea
Foods that boost estrogen;
Flaxseeds, dry fruits, sesame, soybeans, alfalfa sprouts, tofu, sunflower seeds, Mediterranean fruits, legume, chickpea, edamame, peaches, rye, Hummus, pasta
Foods that lower testosterone;
vegetable oils, trans fats (pun unintended), bread, pastries, soy, mint, licorice root, dairy products, sugar, fried foods, cheese, coffee, mushrooms, processed food, pasta
