god i seriously am never getting over That Scene in orv. kim dokja has so little compassion for himself that the only thing he can think to do upon being confronted with the most powerless, frightened, vulnerable version of himself is to try and murder it with his own hands. even when everyone is sobbing and begging him to stop, even when everyone has already forgiven him without reservation, even when yoo motherfucking pilgrim of the apocalypse joonghyuk cannot muster any animosity, kdj will not stop trying to convince them this trembling little boy needs to die. it had been well established by that point that kdj is self destructive and self loathing, but he was good at maintaining some emotional distance from his actions. but the moment he steps off that train, recognizes his own drawings, realizes what's happened, that impassive veneer shatters and he becomes desperate and vicious. this man hates himself so much. seriously, can you imagine how it must have felt to be oldest dream? you're an abused, lonely, depressed child. profoundly alone in this world, betrayed by everyone you've ever loved. you are so frightened of everything you can't bear to live in reality. you meet yourself from the future, but even he has no sympathy for you. no, he hates you. he hates you so much he wants to kill you. he would point a broken sword at his own throat if it meant he could erase you. you don't know what you did wrong. you never do. all you can do is cower from the monster and hope he doesn't get you.
like it's so fucked up. orv is so fucked up.

One of the reasons why the Bucktommy ship is so popular is because they like each other just the way they are.
A lot of romcoms fall flat because we see these cliché characters who are perfect and have no flaws fall in love with each other.
But what a lot of people want to see is characters who are not perfect being loved anyway.
Tommy's sense of humor, isn't for everyone, some people don't get him.
But Buck not only accepts it , he loves him for it. Whenever Tommy dropped a one-liner, Buck smiled or laughed and looked at him with hearteyes. Look at his face after Tommy said "hmm so not like that", "enjoy it while it lasts",...
Buck loves that man's personality and what might seem like a flaw to others is what makes Tommy perfect in Buck's eyes.
Buck isn't flawless either, he might seem needy to some and we all remember the "I'm an ally speech". And even then Tommy still kept flirting with him "Maybe it's me who's making you nervous".
Buck had a whole rant about being an ally while being on a date with a man, and all Tommy had to say was that he was "adorable".
When they went to grab a coffee later that week, Tommy told Buck he had nothing to apologize for.
Buck acted like a jealous teenager and unintentionally hurt his best friend because he was trying to get Tommy's attention. And what did Tommy do? He went to Buck's place to apologize and then he kisses him.
Tommy likes Buck just the way he is.
Buck pouted because Tommy had to leave a Bachelor party because of his job, a party that wasn't even his.
But does Tommy act like Buck is annoying, not understanding or "too needy"? No, Tommy acts like Buck has every right to do it, and even promises him he'll try to make it on time for the wedding.
Buck has had exes tell him he was too needy and Tommy might have had exes who told him he was too broody and here, they've found someone who doesn't complain about these personality traits, but celebrates them.
Bucktommy are giving:

I'm sure one of the Batkids has tried that whole "I'm locking you in this room to go sacrifice myself" schtick with Bruce and assured themselves that the plan would work because Bruce was 1) already injured and 2) down to just his armor, no utility belt or weapons/devices.
but what they didn't account for was the fact that Bruce would absolutely, 100% bust down that door with his bare hands, splitting the knuckles open and fracturing his fingers and ruining his gloves and armor if needed. he would break that door and probably the wall if it meant getting to his Robin before he did something dumb like pull a last-minute self-sacrifice plan.

[ID: SVSSS fanart of Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge. It's the scene from volume 1 where Liu Qingge is having a qi deviation. He's on the floor, face and clothes splattered with blood. Shen Qingqiu has a hand on his shoulder, and smiles as he says, "You're too hot- I mean too young to die. We should be friends now." Liu Qingge scowls at him, angry and confused, thinking "wtf" repeatedly and with question marks floating around his head. /end ID]
this is basically what happened i think

trying to go to bed but im mad at larian again because not only are all of wyll’s choices regarding mizora made by the player speaking for him, literally stripping him of any strong character moments, but ALSO the scene where he reconciles with his father is exactly the same! the player literally gets in front of him and has the conversation with his dad for him, including the fucking mind-melding to show him wyll’s trauma. like unlike gale’s conversation with mystra or astarion’s entire fucking character arc or lae’zel’s conversations with voss, wyll’s pivotal character moments literally remove his character from the action taking place. and then fans say “oh well he’s boring” yeah cause they’ve fucking sabotaged his story and hastily sawed off any opportunities for his character writing to shine. its fucking EGREGIOUS for the only origin character to get this treatment to be the only Black character.

I don’t like minimizing the importance and gravity of Laios and Toshiro’s fight into just being a childish squabble, even if to a degree it is framed that way, because to both of them it has a lot of personal significance and emotional weight and runs very deep to their characters… The fight isn’t nothing it’s a LOT, they made up but it’s not something easy to express and to get over for either of them which makes it all the more meaningful! I’m on both sides but there very much are sides, there’s no "they’re both having a ball, Toshiro and Laios hand in hand yay" side to the fight, that comes after
The fight with Toshiro WAS very scary to Laios, almost existentially so, but it’s moreso the "I thought I’d made a friend!!" bit and my god. My god actually
Like it’s not "just" about oh his friend liking him less than he thought, THAT IS SO MUCH. It’s a bond he thought he had being a lie it’s all the time and moments spent together either being a lie from his perspective or marred now looking back. It’s not only being upset at Toshiro for lying but upset at himself that he’s so easy to fool, it’s being upset that there’s something so wrong with you that you can’t even tell if your "close buddy" even actually likes you or not, it’s like. Holding my head. He can’t trust his own vision of events that happened do you see. There’s always this film of distrust that it could be a lie that should be there when he interacts with people there’s always this sense of cloak and dagger to expect backstabs out of nowhere because you CAN’T see it coming you CAN’T you CAN’T there’s something about you which makes it impossible so you CAN’T-
He’s so scared of not being able to read people. He knows it’s a weak spot he has, he’s always known. All of these bits are centered around social expectations and betrayals, the assumption that he doesn’t belong either in society or with other humans.
And Laios’ level of awareness is actually sort of complex to analyze, but it’s there, there’s how out of him and Falin he was the one sensitive to the ~aura of hatred~ he felt from the townspeople, there’s of course his nightmares whispering to him about the mocking looks, and how yeah actually he realizes that his gold stripper coworker was taking advantage of him. There’s of course the Winged Lion speech about his trauma and how he fundamentally mistrusts/dislikes humans to some deep seated degree, this distrust that he still keeps under control always. There’s how pre-canon he often wanted to suggest eating monsters but never worked up the courage to bring it up with the others. There’s how he gets across as stoic when he isn’t being enthusiastic…… We don’t know how aware and wary he is exactly in the moment but we do know he has some anxiety around social stuff, and looking back he does notice and aughh augh, the sense you have to hide yourself to not get hurt and be on your guard and shit and.
When you don’t know what to look out for and when to look out for it, the general ‘common sense’ of not always trusting people or noticing when someone’s messing with you becomes hypervigilance in social settings
"Man they really know what you hate huh". Being socially unaware literally plagues him, he knows, he knows it so well.
It’s so quick that it’s almost hard to digest how literal and blatant Laios summoning his monster to crush all the people who’ve hurt him is. His literal go-to coping mechanism for comfort in his literal monster-induced emotionally intense nightmares, saving him by taking away the upsetting element (the humans)
"Monsters are his coping fantasy, where they can whisk him away from humanity, all the hurt it’s caused him and its arbitrary rules" with the subtlety of a brick. Monsters are his comfort safe zone "because they kill humans" yes but no it’s because he pits them as the guardians against humans who to him are in the role of the agressors. To him they represent freedom from the shackles of what it means to be part of humanity, a fundamentally social species
