This war has really taken a toll on us. It's destroyed our bodies, our lives, and our souls. It has been so sad to see our homes destroyed, our belongings taken from us, and our beautiful places ruined. It has also changed our situation for the worse. We were living a pretty good life, you know? Peaceful, loving, and full of life. But then, we found ourselves in a really tough spot. Hunger, fear, and terror have become our new normal. My kids and I, along with my extended family, are struggling to make ends meet. We don't have the basic necessities of life, and our living situation is pretty rough. We're in these old, falling-apart tents. It's so hard to know what to do when winter comes. We'll be soaked in the rain and wind, and I'll be at a loss as to how to keep my family safe, from the bombing and from the winter.🥹

@handalapls is Mohammed Ayesh's blog. He's currently inside Gaza working tirelessly to verify fundraisers. Do I have to explain how exhausting that is? He's in constant danger every single day, and still goes out of his way to help others as best he can. He also has to care for his family, including his little brother Yasser, who is hard of hearing and has a cochlear implant

The implant requires charging, which is difficult due to the destruction and inavailability of power sources in many parts of Gaza, and it's also starting to malfunction, as they're unable to care for it properly, again, due to the living conditions they are in. Trying to repair the device or get a new one would be extremely expensive, and they cannot afford it. This means that Yasser is having a lot of trouble expressing himself, since he's also been unable to have the speech therapy sessions he used to have, which made communication easier for him

Mohammad's fundraiser is destined to collect money to repair Yasser's hearing device, fund his speech therapy in the future, and help his entire family rebuild their lives. In a post on his blog, he's expressed wanting to close the fundraiser before the end of the year, and he has yet to reach his goal. As of today, his campaign sits at £35,320/£60,000. However, for the past nine months, my family and I have been living in constant fear due to the ongoing conflict. Our once peaceful neighborhood has turned into a war zone, and the situation is becoming increasingly dire.

I am not just reaching out for myself, but for my entire family. I have two brothers, three sisters, and our beloved parents who have always worked hard to provide for us. We have faced unimaginable hardships, and the thought of evacuating is daunting, but staying here is no longer an option. We urgently need to find a safe haven where we can rebuild our lives away from the violence and chaos.

A Childhood Caught Between Loss and Hope 💔😞

My name is Reema, and I live with my young son, Tim, who is five years old. Tim found his happiness playing with his best friend, Omar. They were inseparable, playing together every day and filling our lives with laughter and joy.

Unfortunately, on a dark day, we lost Omar in an airstrike that targeted the Tal Al-Hawa area. I didn’t know how to tell Tim that his dear friend was gone🥹😭😭.

I tried to console him by saying that Omar went to Egypt, as we believe here that the souls of those martyred in Gaza find peace there🙏.

As days went by, Tim’s suffering became more evident. He would cry at night, asking if we could go to Egypt to see Omar. I told him that the only option was for the border crossing to open so we could go. However, I have been unable to afford the coordination fee required to leave Gaza for over four months. The cost of coordination for one person through the Rafah border crossing to Egypt is €5,000.

Now, Tim lives in isolation and sadness 😞💔, and I feel helpless. I am doing my best to make his life less miserable, but resources are scarce, and donations are rare. I appeal to you to help me save what remains of Tim’s childhood 🫂🙏.

Help my family🩸

I am nedaa from the Gaza Strip. In the beginning, we lived for a short time in our house in temporary stability because our country was not a country of stability in the first place due to the ongoing wars on the Strip. My husband had a job and he had a source of income sufficient for us initially. On the seventh day of October, and on this morning, we woke up to... The beginning of this bloody war, shortly after the bombs fell on us and the disappearance of our basic needs of food, water, the necessities of life, pampers and milk, and after the bombing that hit the homes next to us, and after that we were forced to leave the house due to a ground operation and an order to evacuate the homes and the advance of tanks and shooting at us. We went out and my children and I could not. My husband and I wanted to take the most basic needs of blankets, mattresses, clothes, and food due to the lack of transportation during those difficult days. This was in the month of January, when it was winter and bitter cold. We walked long distances and were stranded until after that we were able to reach and flee to the city of Rafah, which was sparsely populated and almost Deprived of life, we were displaced to a place made up of tin, where deadly insects and germs were eating the bodies of our children. There was no water, no food, and nothing of the necessities of life. We struggled to get some food and water, and after a while, due to the severe bombing next to us, we were forced to flee again to the Khan Yunis suburbs. We were displaced inside the Khan Yunis suburbs for more than Once, due to violent bombing and shooting over our heads, we lived in tents made of cloth and wood, and my children lived through difficult days of fear and anxiety due to the intensity of the bombing. We learned during those days that our small house, which we had originally carved out of my father’s house, had been largely destroyed due to the violent bombing, and after several months. Living in tents, high heat, and the bitter cold of winter led to the withdrawal of vehicles from the areas in which we live, and we were able to reach our homes, which we were shocked by at the scene we saw of the horror of destruction caused by that war. We were forced to return to our destroyed home and set up shields to protect us from the elements of nature, and there was nothing there. Among the necessities of life, there is no food or water. The infrastructure was and still is completely destroyed, with sewage in the streets and we cannot bring water except with great difficulty. Now we are exposed to the cold and harsh winter and we need scarves and nylon to cover ourselves from the winter water. Even now we are exposed to shelling, bombs and gunfire. What is the fault of my children, Aysel? And Nidal, they live in this disastrous situation that does not provide them with the simplest basics of life, such as Pampers, milk, and all the necessities of life, and now we are living in a war of exorbitant prices in which we cannot provide the money to buy these needs, and now I am speaking to you, I and my small family are forced to ask for help from you so that we can secure a future. For my children, as we travel outside this country because of the constant wars, do not let us down and do not deprive us of your kindness and generosity.

My exhaustion can't be described with words. Every day I wish I had died when this all started. Everything exhausts me. Please help, please. I'm constantly annoyed with my family because we've been packed in the same room for months while we're all on edge, but they're still my family. I can't let them die. I can't let my younger siblings and my grandmother down🥹

My name is Hamdi, and I am reaching out to you from Gaza, a place that has been my home for my entire life. However, for the past nine months, my family and I have been living in constant fear due to the ongoing conflict. Our once peaceful neighborhood has turned into a war zone, and the situation is becoming increasingly dire.

I am not just reaching out for myself, but for my entire family. I have two brothers, three sisters, and our beloved parents who have always worked hard to provide for us. We have faced unimaginable hardships, and the thought of evacuating is daunting, but staying here is no longer an option. We urgently need to find a safe haven where we can rebuild our lives away from the violence and chaos.

We have exhausted all our resources and now we are turning to you, our global community, for help. Your support can make a significant difference in our lives. We are aiming to raise enough funds to cover the costs of our evacuation and resettlement. This includes transportation, temporary shelter, basic necessities, and initial living expenses until we can find stable employment and regain our footing.

"Two Sleighs on One Path"

On a cold winter night, while the world celebrated the arrival of a new year, two contrasting scenes unfolded on the same land.

In one, Santa Claus rode his sleigh, pulled by reindeer, loaded with brightly wrapped gifts, passing through houses filled with lights and laughter. Children eagerly awaited his arrival, bringing them dreams and joy.

On the other side, a different kind of sleigh moved along a dark path. A wooden cart, pulled by a donkey and guided by a figure wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh, carried small white-shrouded bodies—symbols of war and loss.

It was as if time froze for a moment, where these two realities collided: one brimming with superficial happiness, the other overflowing with raw pain. Two sleighs moving in parallel worlds, intersecting only in the hearts of those who can see and feel.

The contrast was striking: how could the world celebrate Christmas while others perish in silence? How could pain go unnoticed?

As I gazed at this scene, tears fell, racing against my words. I realized the world is not one world but many—each with its never-ending story. Still, I believe that one day, joy will unite all, just as sorrow does now.
