I feel upset in the way he clearly loves that server and it’s unfair for him & other creators but obviously i care if he chooses to stand by dream i will cut him off completely because that’s wrong & immoral. I feel sick that Dream mangages to ruin everything people care about i hate it so much
Yeah. That's it essentially.
Presently, I'm definitely giving him the benefit of the doubt on everything for the next few days. I don't believe Tommy checks twitter trending. He finds that sort of thing overwhelming and I don't think he will hear much unless a CC friend of his tells him about it directly.
And its an awkward position. Like, he befriended Dream when he was only 16 and has always looked up to him a lot. Now he's only 18 and Dream still DMs him regularly. So, I may still stick around for Tommy's non Dream content which is most of it honestly, the DSMP is the only exception. I'm not sure yet. I really hope he cuts off Dream and moves on from the DSMP entirely though.

Our power went out around 6:45pm after flickering every 10 minutes or so started at 5:30p. It came back twice in the 7oclock hour. It ultimately failed. We don't know when it'll be back up. Nick moved our fridge foods to the trunk of a car because at this rate the fridge will become warmer than the outside.
we're more prepared which felt nice what with having everything charged and having battery packs for charging electronics and way more nonperishables since this is a known problem in tx winters now.
This still sucks. This sucks so much. It isn't an ecot thing this time, it's the ice snapping branches and weighing down lines. And because this region isn't as prepared for ice storms that means it's pretty dangerous for power company employees to get to locations to make repairs.
I know we'll get through this, we got through worse. Just wish we didn't have this fear of losing power every winter. I grew up in Ohio where winter ice storms are normal and yeah sometimes you lose power but never long enough to risk our fucking fridge or worry about our pipes like we do living here. If I knew we'd be living with near yearly ice storms I'd have suggested we move back north years ago....

Yes, Greece still exists, we didn't all die 2000 years ago. Yes, people speak Greek. You people are so fucking stupid for real. So many of you claim to love ancient shit but can't even acknowledge the actual living culture of the people whose mythology and classics you romanticize. You keep leaving annoying comments about how you just forget Greek people still exist, thinking you're being quirky because you love ancient stuff soooo much that you forgot about the people it came from. You think about it so little you don't even realize that an actual Greek person has to read this shit, making it clear how little you actually care about the culture beyond the romanticized (and westernized) mythology. Don't claim you love Greece, don't use our mythology anymore if you can't acknowledge that we're still around without making it about how little you think about us. It's mind boggling that you'd think a Greek person would read this and think you're anything but obnoxious. Explode.

My favourite thing about tumblr, that in my opinion makes it far superior to other social media sites, is that new posts live side by side with old posts. These days, there’s a prioritization of new content. It not only shortens the lifespan of people’s work, memes and such, but it also devalues the work that goes into making certain things.
Sure, a lot of posts are just random thoughts spewed into the ether, but some posts are carefully crafted videos, photos, artwork, prose, that take the creator a considerable amount of time and effort to craft. So, as a content creator, it’s nice to see that you can put work into a piece of content on here and it can have a life of its own. Unlike other platforms where posts live and die in a matter of day, sometimes, hours

I think my favorite part of dungeon meshi + why I absolutely adore Ryoko Kui's characterization is that every single main character is unlikable. Not just in a surface level give your characters flaws way, but in a way that encumbers them and affects the people around them. laios is outright rude and negligent at times. marcille is judgemental and shortsighted. chilchuck is grumpy and mean. senshi is obstinate and often careless. They're all good-hearted and lovable and easy to root for, but they have flaws! Not only do they have flaws, but those flaws affect their relationships and are explored by the narrative!
I don't know it's just so refreshing when fiction lets its characters be bad people at times. It makes the "found family" trope so much more satisfying cause it's like yes. I'll love you and take care of you even though you suck sometimes and you've accidentally hurt me before. I've done the same to you and know you still love me back. Gosh what a good story.

How I save time on backgrounds as a full-time webcomic artist
Hi! I make webcomics for a living, and I have to be able to draw a panel extremely fast to keep up with my deadlines. I draw about 50 panels a week, which gives me about 45 minutes per panel if I want any semblance of a healthy work-life balance.
Most webtoon artists save time on backgrounds by using 3d models, which works for them and is great! but personally I hate working in 3d... I went to school for it for a year and hated it so much I completely changed career paths and vowed never to do it again! So, this is how I save time without using any 3d, for those of you out there who don't like it either!
This tactic has also saved me money (3d models are expensive) and it has helped me converting my comic from scroll format into page format for print, because I have much more art to work with than what's actually in the panels. (I'll touch on this later)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, first, I make my backgrounds huge. my default starting size is 10,000 x 10,000 pixels. My panels are 2,500 pixels wide, so my backgrounds are 4x that, minimum. Because of this, I make them less detailed than I could or that you might expect so it doesn't look weird against my character art when I shrink portions of it down.
I personally find it much easier to add in detail than to make "removing" details look natural at smaller sizes, but you might have different preferences than I do.
I also make sure to keep all of my elements on separate layers so that I can easily remove or replace them, I can move them to simulate different camera angles more easily, and it's simple to adjust the lighting to imply different times of day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then I can go ahead and copy/paste them into my episodes. I move the background around until it feels like it's properly fitting how I want.
Once I've done that in every panel, I'll go back through the episode and clean up anything that looks weird, and add in solid blacks (for my art style) Here's a quick before and after of what that looks like!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This makes 90% of my backgrounds take me just a few hours. This is my tactic when I'm working in an environment that an entire scene, or multiple scenes, will take place.
But many panels will inevitably have a location that's used exactly once, and it would waste time and effort to draw a massive background for those. So in 10% of cases, I just draw the single panel background in the episode. I save all of these, just in case I can re-use it later (this happens more often with outdoor locations, but I save them all nonetheless!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I generally have to draw about 2 big backgrounds per episode, and 3-5 single-panel backgrounds per episode! At the beginning of an arc/book the number is higher, but as the series is continuing and I'm building up an asset library of indoor and outdoor elements to re-use for the book, the number generally goes down and I save more time.
My series involves time travel and mysteries, so there's a lot of new locations in it and we're constantly moving around. If I were working on a series that was more consistent in this aspect, this process would save me even more time!
Like I said earlier, this also saves me a lot of pain and gives me a lot more options as I'm converting from scroll format to print format!
panels that look like this in scroll format...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
can look like this in print!
Tumblr media
because I drew the background like this, so I didn't need to go through the additional effort to add in the extra detail to expand it outwards at all.
Tumblr media
Anyways, I hope this helps someone! As always if it doesn't help, just go ahead and disregard. This is what I do and what works for me, and I feel like I only ever see time-saving tips for comics that involve 3d models and workflows, which don't work for me at all! I know there's more people like me out there, so this is for you!
Enjoy!
Also obligatory "my webcomic" if you want to see this in action or check it out!
