Best Hair Oil for Dry and Frizzy Hair
Tumblr media
Finding the best hair oil for dry and frizzy hair can feel like searching for a magic potion. But the right blend of ingredients can transform your hair from brittle and unruly to soft, manageable, and full of life. Here, we explore a range of nourishing oils that cater to dry and frizzy hair, helping you reclaim your hair’s natural beauty.
Why Dry and Frizzy Hair Needs Special Care
Dry and frizzy hair lacks moisture, making it prone to breakage and split ends. Environmental stressors like pollution, UV rays, and dust, coupled with heat styling and chemical treatments, can worsen the situation. The solution? A hair oil packed with hydrating and protective ingredients to replenish moisture and repair damage.
Ingredients That Make the Best Hair Oil
A great hair oil isn’t just about one hero ingredient—it’s the synergy of multiple natural extracts and oils that work together to nourish and protect your hair. Let’s dive into some superstar ingredients you should look for in the best hair oil:
1. Amla Extract (Emblica Officinalis Fruit Extract)
Amla is a multitasking marvel for hair care. Its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties soothe a dry, flaky scalp while shielding hair from environmental stressors. Amla is also widely believed to prevent hair loss and promote new hair growth, making it a true “beautitasker.”
2. Coconut Oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil)
Coconut oil’s unique blend of fatty acids and vitamins penetrates deeply into the hair shaft, thanks to its lauric acid content. This helps lock in long-lasting moisture, repair damage, and reduce protein loss, leaving your hair soft and shiny.
3. Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil)
Rich in Omega-9 essential acids, apricot kernel oil provides deep hydration and keeps your hair supple. Its humectant properties draw in moisture from the air, ensuring each strand stays hydrated throughout the day. It’s a perfect addition for taming frizz.
4. Orange Peel Oil (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil)
Packed with antioxidants, orange peel oil conditions the hair naturally and helps reduce dandruff. It balances excess scalp oil, making it ideal for maintaining a healthy scalp environment. Plus, its refreshing citrus aroma adds a sensorial treat to your hair care routine.
5. Kalonji Oil (Nigella Sativa Seed Oil)
Kalonji oil, derived from black seed, is rich in antibacterial and antifungal properties that help resolve scalp issues such as eczema and psoriasis. It also contains thymoquinone, an antihistamine known to promote hair growth and strengthen the hair shaft.
Squigs Beauty’s Secret to Beautiful Hair
If you’re looking for a hair oil that combines the benefits of these powerhouse ingredients, Squigs Beauty offers a fantastic option. Their formulations include natural oils and extracts that are thoughtfully curated to tackle dryness, frizz, and scalp issues, giving your hair the nourishment it deserves. It’s not just about treating your hair; it’s about pampering it.
Additional Ingredients to Look For
The best hair oil for dry and frizzy hair should also include complementary ingredients that enhance its effectiveness. For instance:
Sunflower Seed Oil (Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil): Known for its lightweight texture, this oil deeply nourishes without weighing your hair down.
Castor Seed Oil (Ricinus Communis Seed Oil): A trusted ally for hair growth, castor oil strengthens the roots and seals moisture.
Sesame Seed Oil (Sesamum Indicum Seed Oil): Packed with antioxidants, it protects your hair from environmental stressors and provides a natural shine.
Grapefruit Peel Oil (Citrus Paradisi Peel Oil): Adds a touch of freshness while balancing scalp oils.
Olive Fruit Oil (Olea Europaea Fruit Oil): Offers deep hydration and helps repair damaged hair.
How to Use Hair Oil Effectively
To get the most out of your hair oil, follow these simple steps:
Apply Generously: Warm a small amount of oil in your hands and apply it evenly from the scalp to the ends of your hair.
Massage the Scalp: Spend a few minutes massaging your scalp to improve blood circulation and allow the oil to penetrate deeper.
Leave It On: Let the oil work its magic for at least 30 minutes or, for best results, overnight.
Wash Off Gently: Use a mild shampoo to rinse out the oil without stripping away its benefits.
Embrace Healthier Hair
Dry and frizzy hair doesn’t have to be a lifelong struggle. By choosing the best hair oil with nourishing ingredients like amla, coconut, apricot kernel, and kalonji oils, you can restore moisture, repair damage, and enjoy smooth, shiny hair. Squigs Beauty’s carefully crafted products are a wonderful place to start—your hair will thank you!

it girls guide to haircare, from glossy curls to flawless braids⋆.ೃ࿔*:・💕🧁
Tumblr media Tumblr media
your hair is your CROWN 👑 and the prettiest hair is always the healthiest. so in this post i wanna explore tips, routines and recipes that can help you to have healthier hair and start ur haircare journey…💬🎀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BUILDING A HAIRCARE ROUTINE ;
when it comes to building a routine of any sort, consistency is key! the main components of building a MEAN hair care routine are the following ; cleansing, deep conditioning and nourishment. think of ur hair like a garden that you have to water and nourish and in return it'll grow and be beautiful. thats the way that hair is! it needs tender loving CARE to be as beautiful as it can be.
wash 1-2x a week depending on how much u need to, but avoid washing it every single day because it strips ur hair of its natural oils and will give u dry and brittle hair. and thats NOT hot…💬🎀
🧁 cleansing ; opt for sulfate-free shampoos to keep your hair clean without stripping away natural oils.
🧁 deep conditioning ; deep conditioning is a NON-negotiable. choose protein-rich or moisture-based deep conditioners to keep ur hair strong and soft.
🧁 nourishment ; use hair masks on a weekly basis, always use a leave in conditioner or serum to lock in moisture and shield your hair from heat or environmental stressors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so all in all, wash ur hair once a week or as much as needed, make sure that u choose moisture based, protein rich conditioners, and use hair masks weekly and invest in quality masks and oils to nourish ur hair and give it that extra UMPH.
THE GLOSSIEST CURLS ;
to achieve the glossiest prettiest curls ever, start with damp hair. apply a curl-enhancing cream, and comb through for even distribution. you can also try the LOC method, where you leave in, oil then cream ur hair. this particularly works great for hair that loses moisture.
if u have curly hair, sleeping in a silk bonnet or on silk pillowcases can help you to avoid having frizzy hair and using silk scrunchies is better for the health of ur hair + avoids breakage.
for defined curls and coils that pop, hydrate first by starting on freshly washed or damp hair. apply a leave-in conditioner for hydration. use a curl-defining cream or custard to clump and hold ur curls, make sure that ur working in sections! use a diffuser to dry your curls while keeping their shape intact and finish with a lightweight oil or shine spray for that extra glossy look.
FLAWLESS BRAIDS ;
to get sleek, flawless braids, start by detangling your hair completely. smooth your edges with a gel or edge control, and section your hair evenly. keep your braids tight but not too tight to avoid tension on your scalp. finish with a hair oil for shine and to nourish your scalp. if you’re rocking feed-in braids or box braids, don’t forget to hydrate your scalp regularly to avoid dryness or flakes.
GENERAL TIPS ;
🧁 always work in sections when ur doing ur hair bcuz it makes the process easier + more effective 🧁 deep conditioner instead of regular conditioner 🧁 wrap ur hair at night with a bonnet/sleep on silk pillowcases
AT HOME HAIR GLOSSING ROUTINE ;
for hair glossing at home, combine conditioner, olive oil, and a tablespoon of honey in a bowl and mix it together. be generous with it as u apply it to your hair. leave on ur hair for an hour. after washing ur hair blow-dry it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS ;
❤︎ i use the glossy pearl hair mask and it smells SO good, it smells like literal baby powder and it keeps my hair so incredibly soft.
❤︎ i also really love the gisou honey infused hair mask, it smells like honey (duh) and is really nourishing for my hair + leaves it nice and shiny and soft.
SILK PRESS SZN ;
the basic steps to having the best at-home silk press are simple! first, wash ur hair with a moisturizing shampoo. opt for a sulfate free shampoo that will hydrate ur hair, and not strip ur curls of their natural oils. make sure to wash shampoo ur hair 2x and make sure that theres no residual shampoo left!
deep condition ur hair and let that sit for about 30 minutes, then rinse out with cool water. the next step is also a big nonnegotiable with silk presses - using heat protectants. PROTECT YOUR HAIR. step four is to blow out ur hair with a round brush or a hair-dryer brush, after you've done this smooth some serum into ur hair for that shine and frizz free silk press that we're going for. lastly, flat iron ur hair.
so all in all these are the six steps to getting that perfect silk press at home...💬🎀
wash hair with a moisturizing shampoo
deep condition ur hair and let it sit for 30 minutes
dry ur hair and apply a heat protectant
blow out ur hair with a hair dryer brush or a round brush
smooth some serum into ur hair
flat iron ur hair

౨ৎ ⋆。• vogue beauty secrets 🐰 ๋࣭ ⭑
🎀𓂃 ࣪˖ hair
don't wash your hair every day! i think everybody knows this but i know a couple people who still dont wash their hair only 2-3 times a week. obviously it depends on ur hair type but only wash your hair when it needs it!
don't wash your hair with scalding hot water either. its not only bad for your body and face but its also bad for your hair as it ruins the natural oils and damages cells etc
if you have frizzy or easily knotted hair i recommend keeping a comb on hand in the shower and using it to detangle before putting in any products
i've been emulsifying my shampoo for only a couple of weeks but my hair is sooo much fluffier afterwards so i definitely recommend that!!
now i'm torn on this one but apparently shampooing twice is better for your hair than doing it once? i tried it one time and it did not end well for my hair type but i know it works for a lot of people so if you wanna give it a try then go for it ♡
i squeeze excess water out of my hair before i put in my conditioner so i can completely get it in there without
also change your pillow case often! this is for your face too, as the oils will build up and thats not good for ur hair or face. i change it once a week but 2x a week is good too if you're able 💓
don't go to bed with wet hair. stop doing that. its super bad for your hair and keeping it pretty & fluffy & cute
airdrying is my holy grail, been doing it since i was little and dont regret a thing. its a billion times better than blow drying & makes ur hair so fluffy too ♡
Tumblr media
🎀𓂃 ࣪˖ body
DO NOT. HAVE. THE WATER. BOILING HOT. i am guilty of this and have been for years but it has such a bad impact and you shouldnt do it! cold showers are better but i prefer warm showers so theres a middle ground (& its always cold in england, so id freeze to death.)
using body lotion after the shower has been such a game changer for me its incredible. makes you smell nice, feel nice, look nice, and its so relaxing and i feel like a princess after i do it <3
exfoliating is really important if your aim is for soft skin 💓 i have been doing it for months and as somebody with super rough skin its SO soft now
partake in some form of exercise. i hated hated hated sports and exercise when i was younger but i did do dance up until i was eleven and have been doing pilates consistently for months now, and my mindset towards it has changed drastically over the years to finally a healthy one. it can be a difficult thing to get into but make it something you enjoy. it doesn't have to be sports. ill make a post on this soon but it can be pilates, kpop dances, running, hot girl walks, anything! and most importantly, do it for mental health and physical health, not losing weight.
make sure you're eating properly. remember that 1400 to 2400 calories of nutritious substance is the MINIMUM. this of course depends on many variables including, weight, height, BMR, what it is your eating, et cetera. your body is so important & is there to be nourished and not neglected !!! ♡ (💭🎀edit: updated info on calories and nutrition from a lovely anon i received a message from this morning! ♡)
change your bedsheets every week if you wanna smell good, this is so important bc sweat and odour will build up if u dont and thats icky and wont make u smell good & probably isnt the best for your skin either!
i also put two similar body washes on in the shower that i get SO many compliments on & its really helpful if one of your priorities is smelling good
dont just wash body wash straight off, let it sit for a few moments so the scent can actually sink into ur skin
Tumblr media
🎀𓂃 ࣪˖ face
skincare every morning & every night. if ur tired or just not feeling it today then simplify it, just make sure you never leave it out because its super important! no. skipping. no work = no reward.
on this note, try not to have a too complicated skincare routine, as this can backfire and make ur skin worse than before. your skin isnt meant for 18 different products and 200 chemicals every morning!
never wash your face with hot water... this is also a given but just in case... it strips your skin of its natural oils and does more harm than good
stop touching ur face... just for those who need a little reminder
make sure ur sleeping enough. seriously disney princess movies meant it when they talked ab beauty sleep; it seriously makes a difference, so please try make this a priority, especially if you already have dark circles like myself! (like girl did you see aurora's face? my girl's skin was so clear i could see my reflection)
pay attention to what makes ur face puffy or irritated or makes you get break outs. i keep a little break out log in my skincare page in my journal (little teaser for an upcoming post 🤭) and this has helped me go over what helps or hurts my skin! i recommend this especially if ur prone to acne or breakouts 💖
cold spoons in the morning to depuff your eyes; ive only been doing this a handful of times but im making it a habit seeing as it really helps! (as someone who can get vv puffy eyes 😭)
hydration is so important, for everything in this list, but most of all (from my experience) your face! i drink A Lot of water every day. probably a bit too much. but its so worth it, my skin has been absolutely amazing ever since i started actually making hydration a priority. (and this is coming from a girl who didnt touch a drop of water when she was younger & had to go hospital for dehydration several times.)
i'd recommend scrubbing ur lips too in the morning when you brush your teeth, i saw this on pinterest aaages ago bc i had super dry lips and i do it every morning & every night RELIGIOUSLY. its so so good and i definitely recommend
i have super dry lips in the morning so lip balm in the mornings w my skincare is absolutely essential for me
i also put perfume behind my ears & on my neck so its the first thing people smell when they hug me! im a very touchy person and i love hugs and i love showing love to people so this is essential for me but its optional, just makes you smell good ♡

What do we think about:
Simon: *sitting on the bathroom counter, legs gently kicking back and forth, watching Farah dog around in her makeup bag*
Farah: ah ha!! Okay! This *showing him the moisturizer* will help with swelling and scarring, *hands him a cream*. This helps with sensitivity *hands him another* and this is for scaring as welll *hands him another cream*
Simon: isn’t this a lot of stuff to put on him face though?
Farah; it won’t be heavy, trust me *takes the first cream and gently runs it and smooths it out over Simon’s facial scars*
Alex: *walks in and plops himself down on the toilet seat* *takes off his prosthetic and starts to moisturize his stump* ohhh she’s giving you the good stuff. She gave me the generic shit for my scar
Farah: you hush *adding the second cream to Simon’s face*
Kyle: *walks by but stops and walks back* what are you guys doing?
Alex: moisturizing
Kyle: hmm. Okay *walks in and sits in the bathtub, moisturizing mosterixing his dry skin*
Gary: *walks by* oooohhhh skin care party? *sits on the floor and dogs around in Farah bags for a face mask*
Price: *comes home and it’s quiet except for giggling up stairs* hello?? Anyone home???
~price walks up stairs to the master bathroom to find Farah walking Simon through a skin care routine with like 9 different products. Alex and Kyle are painting each others toe nails. Gary is applying a clay face mask to their faces, his is already on. Nik and Captain are in the bathtub with a towel around his hair and a face mask on, cucumbers on the eyes while laying in the bathtub, spa music playing in the background*
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! AGGS!!!!
I am THINKING!!!
Now I’m imagining that about once a month, after everyone has had a very long week, Farah sits everyone down and declares it Spa Day.
The Price family shuffles home looking tired and rundown, and they all wake up Saturday with moisturized skin, painted nails, and a lot more energy.
Also, I headcanon that Simon has curly hair, but he was never taught how to take care of it. So when he first got adopted, his hair was constantly a frizzy mess.
Even though his hair is finer, Farah and Gaz can’t keep letting him walk around like that, so he gets treated to the full curly hair routine. They show him all the best hair creams and oils, and he is SHOCKED because he had no idea his hair could curl like that.
And the next day at school Johnny is amazed and cannot keep his hands out of Si’s hair. Si comes home and BEGS Gaz and Farah to teach him how to maintain his hair.
And once Johnny and Simon get together, Johnny learns the curly hair routine so he can take care of Si’s hair for him. :)))

TAKING CARE OF BLACK HAIR
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This post is dedicated to all of my black beauties, who may be struggling in haircare. No way am I an expert, but these are tips that worked for me.
DAILY
Spray water on your hair + drink a lot of water to keep it hydrated. It helps with detangling and promotes softer hair.
Use a daily hair moisturizer. This can be hair food, oil, or a leave-in conditioner, but something that can moisturise your hair every day.
Sleep on a silk bonnet or a silk pillow to prevent tangles and knots in your hair.
Apply styling products in layers. Too many products can cause grease or ‘crunchy’ hair.
WASH DAY
Wash your hair once a week. You want to avoid product buildup, as that is drying your hair. If possible, apply thick oils or gels every other day instead of every day (most spray or thinner oils/gels are fine for daily use).
Detangle before you wash your hair. I like to completely wet my hair before detangling, so it’s much easier and avoids breakage. Or, you can buy a detangling spray that aids you. Try to use your fingers instead of a comb, as it is much gentler.
When shampooing, avoid foaming shampoos as they can dry out your hair. Look for shampoos that don’t have any harsh chemicals as well.
Deep condition your hair instead of just rinsing it. You can buy one or you can make your own. What I do is, I separate my hair into sections and then put conditioner onto each one. Then I put on a shower cap and let it stay for 15-30 minutes. Extensive deep conditioning can weaken your hair.
Use an old shirt or a microfiber towel to squeeze excess moisture and water from your hair. Using a towel can cause frizziness and breakage + avoid drying your hair using a blow dryer.
PROTECTIVE HAIRSTYLES
Try not to leave in protective hairstyles for too long. A month is the best time frame, but 3 months is the absolute maximum!
When taking out protective hairstyles, let your hair breathe. A minimum of two weeks of natural hair is ideal. This allows you to take care of your strands as well.
During protective hairstyles, remember to shampoo weekly to avoid dandruff buildup + use moistures!
If needed after a hairstyle, trim your hair. Some ends cannot be saved.

HAIRCARE tips 🎀
How I changed my hair from having greasy, damaged and "your hair stinks" to having a healthy, hydrated, soft, voluminous hair and getting compliments EVERY DAY
(Like I'm not even exaggerating guys, I really do get compliments on my hair everyday 👀)
Tip#1
Do what works for you
Literally don't listen to someone when they say "Don't wash your hair everyday" "wash your hair everyday" etc honey PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try it out first!! Self care is all about trial and error it's never going to be linear and I promise you you'll have yourself figured out.
When I used to listen to my mom saying "don't wash your hair everyday it damages your hair" I literally used to wash my hair like 2 times per week and trust me IT DIDNT HELP ME AT ALL.
I switched to washing my hair every other day and my hair has never been any shinier and smoother plus it's getting what it needs!! Washing your hair depends On YOU. Please do whatever works for you
Tip#2
Oil your hair atleast 2 times per week
please I can't stress this enough. Your hair NEEDS food too and oil does that job for your hair.
You can use castor oil, coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil or best if it's Moroccan oil.
You can mix these up together and use it on your scalp every two times per week and trust me guys your hair is never going to be the same. Feed your hair!!
Tip#3
Regulate blood flow
stimulating blood flow to your scalp will not only give you healthy hair but also ensure hair growth.
(don't be surprised if you start seeing baby hair all of a sudden because I am not lying 👀)
You can use a scalp massager or a derma roller. Derma rollers create tiny incisions to your hair which regulates blood flow delivering the nutrients your hair needs.
If you're using a scalp massager then make sure to lie upside down on your bed and massage your scalp gently for 5-10 minutes every day for BEST results. but it works fine either way.
Tip#4
Rosemary serum
This is my favorite!! And yes honey you can make it at home.
Get two to three rosemary leaves and put it to a boil with water on medium heat ( quantity depends on your container and this serum can be stored for two weeks at max ❤️)
When it comes to a boil strain the water and leave it to cool down then apply it on your scalp and massage it in with a scalp massager.
I used it every night before bed and tell my why my hair grew so much under just 7 months when I had the worst hair growth??? And it made my hair smooth and healthy and Soo ughh!!! I can't even put it into words just know I STARTED GETTING MASSIVE COMPLIMENTS AROUND ME OKAY?
Tip#5
Never leave your hair open while sleeping
Please don't make this mistake. I used to do this and it didn't do me right. It makes your hair extremely frizzy and causes breakage.
Put your hair up on a bun or do a little braid on your hair every single time before sleeping. Not even a ponytail!! A BRAID OR A BUN!! PERIODT! anything that does not leave your hair out.
Tip#6
Use as minimum heat as possible
Don't overwhelm your hair with heat guys. If you think there's alternative that's gonna give you the hairstyle you want without using any heat then use that. Like
Air dry your hair
Use hair rollers (there's tips on TikTok and YouTube to how you can get heatless curls using these)
Tip#7
Trim your ends regularly
Trim your ends every 3 months. It removes split ends reshapes your hair so you're good to go for your next hairstyle.
Also if you have extremely damaged hair and you don't wanna shave your hair off to "start new and fresh" with your hair I recommend trimming your hair ends every three months. I know it's a long and lengthy process ( but so is growing new hair after shaving your hair right?😭)
That way when you get your new and ✨ healthy ✨ hair after getting into hair care, the damaged old hair gottaa have to go ( slowly but surely❤️)
Tip#8
Use hair masks weekly
Hair masks are your best friend. It hydrates and nourishes your hair and best part it defines your natural hair out
My personal favourite is the fenugreek hair mask with banana and egg (I make it at home). Using it weekly to see the most results >>
You can try any hair masks that works for you ❤️
Bonus tip : BE PATIENT WITH YOUR SELF!!
don't overwhelm your hair by overdoing it. Be patient with your hair and care for it just like a you're caring for a newborn baby and it's gonna return all that love back to you ❤️

Been seeing a lot of posts where Steve is disgusted by Eddie’s hair care process and I fully agree.
Now, let me preface this by saying, I think Eddie would think he’s doing a good job, at-least when he’s not throwing random shit into his locks to make them puffy, but his hair is like, chronically greasy, and not in the outsiders look way, he’s just washes his hair everyday so the grease builds up FAST. He doesn’t dry his hair with a towel or anything, he’ll just pile it atop his head and allow it to get mildew-y.
And Steve is absolutely disgusted when he takes his hair down five hours after showering and it’s still wet. He forces him at his house for about a week to force reset his hair.
I.E, he uses his own shampoo and conditioner the first day along with some oil, and forces him to use a shower cap in the shower for another two.
Eddie’s groaning because his hair feels gross during those first couple days and the shower cap is stupid, but Steve chastises him like, “ You can use whatever method to do your hair after, but I swear to God Munson, if you ruin probably the best natural curls I’ve ever seen, I will kill you.”
He takes him to the store, looks through ever conditioner and shampoo set because he needs one that isn’t just for straight hair, and the man can’t continue with 3-in-1.
He finds one, does the whole washing, drying, and hair oil thing again, and when he deems the hair is properly okay again, he gives him a slap on the back.
Steve still lets him use egg, mayo, and teasing methods on his hair to his heart’s content because get the want for a certain look, but he’s absolutely making sure his calendar is marked for hair wash days so he doesn’t forget.
And his hair is still disastrously frizzy, but he can at-least run his hands through it now. He runs his hands through it during movie nights, when they hug,
He runs his hands through it during their first kiss.

If your hair doesn't meet your standards or is not as healthy as you want it to be, your haircare routine most likely doesn't suit you. If thats your case, heres my guide to everything haircare.

Cleansing: How to Wash Your Hair Properly
♡ Use a sulfate-free shampoo (especially if you have dry or curly hair) ♡ Wash 2-3 times a week (oily hair may need more, dry hair less) ♡ Focus on the scalp while shampooing, not the lengths (shampoo removes oil buildup) ♡ Use lukewarm or cool water to avoid stripping moisture
✨ Tip: If you use a lot of styling products, do a clarifying shampoo once a month to remove buildup.
Conditioning: Lock in Moisture & Smooth Hair
♡ Always apply conditioner after shampooing to keep hair soft ♡ Focus conditioner on mid-lengths to ends (avoid the scalp if you get oily hair) ♡ Leave it on for 2-5 minutes before rinsing ♡ Use a deep conditioning mask once a week for extra hydration
✨ Tip: If you have high porosity hair, seal in moisture with a leave-in conditioner or hair oil.
Hair Brushing & Detangling
♡ Use a wide-tooth comb on wet hair to prevent breakage ♡ Detangle gently from ends to roots ♡ Curly/wavy hair: Use a wide-tooth comb instead of a brush ♡ Straight hair: Use a paddle brush for a smooth look
✨ Tip: Avoid brushing hair when it’s soaking wet—it’s more fragile and prone to breakage.
Hair Trims & Split-End Care
♡ Trim every 8-12 weeks to prevent split ends and maintain healthy hair ♡ If you notice frizzy or rough ends, it’s time for a trim
✨ Tip: If you want to grow your hair longer, get small trims instead of big cuts.
Moisturising & Protecting Hair
♡ Use a leave-in conditioner or lightweight oil (argan, almond, avocado) to prevent dryness ♡ Apply a heat protectant before using hot tools (straighteners, curlers, blow dryers) ♡ Air dry when possible to reduce heat damage
✨ Tip: Sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase helps reduce frizz and breakage.

Hair Porosity
Hair porosity refers to the ability of your hair to absorb and retain moisture. It is very important to know your hairs porosity so that you can learn which hair oils suit you best.
Okay but how do you know your hair porosity? Well, there is a very simple test which you can do at home. All you need is a strand of your hair and a glass of water. Just drop that strand of hair into the glass of water and see how low it sinks. Thats all!

Hair Oiling
Hair oiling is an ancient Indian haircare ritual which helps lock in moisture. There are other benefits based on the oil your using, and you can even mix some to create your own blend for your hair concerns.
Now that you know your hair porosity, you can find hair oils that suit you!
Low porosity
Lightweight oils that won’t sit on the hair but instead penetrate the strands easily.
♡ jojoba oil
Mimics natural scalp oils, making it great for balancing moisture
Lightweight and non-greasy
Helps with dandruff and dry scalp
Strengthens hair and prevents breakage
♡ Argan oil
Rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants, protects hair from damage
Adds shine and smoothness without weighing hair down
Helps control frizz and flyaways
Provides light hydration without buildup
♡ Avocado oil
Deeply penetrates the hair shaft to nourish and strengthen strands
Contains fatty acids and vitamins A, D, and E for scalp health
Protects against heat damage and UV exposure
Reduces dryness and split ends
♡ Almond oil
Rich in magnesium, reduces hair breakage and strengthens strands

Use a scalp scrubber
Scalp scrubbers (also called scalp brushes or massagers) are handheld tools with soft silicone bristles designed to exfoliate and stimulate the scalp.
How to Use a Scalp Scrubber Properly
In the Shower: Apply shampoo and use the scrubber in gentle, circular motions across your scalp. Rinse thoroughly.
On Dry Hair: Use it as a dry massage tool before washing your hair to stimulate the scalp.
With Oils or Treatments: Massage in hair oils or serums to help with absorption.
They offer several benefits for hair and scalp health:
Gently exfoliates dead skin cells, reducing flakes and dandruff
Helps remove product buildup (e.g., oils, dry shampoo, styling products)
Prevents clogged hair follicles, which can lead to scalp issues
Increases blood flow to the scalp, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to hair follicles
Helps promote healthy hair growth by stimulating the roots
Can reduce hair thinning over time by keeping follicles healthy
Helps distribute shampoo evenly across the scalp
Lifts dirt and excess oil more effectively than fingers alone
Removes excess sebum that can cause greasy hair
Gently massages the scalp, soothing itchiness and irritation
Can help balance oil production, especially for oily scalps
Helps reduce stress and tension (which can also contribute to hair loss)

Avoid These Haircare Mistakes
Over-washing (strips natural oils)
Using too much heat (causes breakage)
Towel-drying roughly (causes frizz & split ends)
Ignoring your scalp (healthy scalp = healthy hair)
I hope this haircare guide helps!

𝒗𝒆𝒆'𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒔 ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
here i'll share some beauty secrets i've learned and which worked for ME!
remember: what worked for me, maybe not work for you! try urself and see it what's the best for you!
Use a tissue between ur hair and the hair clip! it's a model tip!! it helps the clip not to leave a dent in the hair!
Brush the hair before sleeping, apply some hair oil on the ends and sleep either with a satin bonnet or satin pillow!
Use ice by morning!! it can be an ice bowl or a cold spoon you left on the refrigerator all night!! it helps with puffy face and dark circles!
Obvious but i can't not mention…don't forget sunscreen! even if it's a cloudy day! UV rays can pass through clouds up 80% of the time!!
A victoria's secrets model tip: invest in good skincare products, instead of makeup products! priorize ur skincare! don't get me wrong, buying more expensive makeup products is good but good skincare products will worth more: a natural skin will always smash a whole made up one (and we still can work with cheaper makeup)
Use a leave-in after washing ur hair!! it helps with frizzy and dry hair, besides also protects ur hair from heat damage if you use a dryer!
Don't forget the hair oil!! your best friend! trust me, i learned that the worst way, if i had started using it before maybe i wouldn't have to be running to repair my hair now! but don't forget, don't oil ur scalp only the ends otherwise you'll get a huge oily hair and we don't want that!
Never curl ur lashes after applying mascara! i got shocked when i found out people do that, do u wanna fuck ur lashes?? doing that cause ur mascara to break down faster and damage ur lashes!
So, those were some of the tips i've learned i still have a lot more to share <3
xoxo, V ☆

May Prompts (27) Jealousy
Tumblr media
The Luckiest Girl in the World (chapter27)
Summary: Rosie and Timothy travel the Greek islands. An intriguing experience on Santorini, puzzles and irks Rosie immensely. When Timothy doesn't react to her liking, there's only one option on how to move forward.
Twenty-Seven Years Old
To celebrate my birthday and my new fulltime job as a political risk analyst, Timothy and I went island-hopping in Greece. Liwia and her girlfriend had done it last year, and it appealed to us both. Having nothing but the flights planned, made me feel a bit reckless but it was quite freeing as well.
The only thing we’d decided on was to stick to the Cyclades and we started our journey by taking a ferry to the small island Antiparos. Several people who let out rooms stood waiting on the quay as we disembarked. An elderly and friendly looking man caught our attention, and the room he had to offer was more than sufficient.
Our first breakfast is one I’ll remember forever. The small restaurant was situated by the seafront where the fishing boats came in with their catch. Faded coloured fishing nets hung to dry in the sun, the scent of salt weaving its way to our nostrils.
Freshly pressed orange juice and the fluffiest omelette I’d ever come across, ensured the perfect start of our day.
We hired a moped to explore a little. The trip took us through a landscape of olive trees and flowers we didn’t have in the UK. Our destination was the famous cave with stalagmites and stalactites. The stalagmite at the entrance is apparently 45 million years old, the oldest in Europe.
We were warm and a bit sweaty after standing out in the sun, while we waited for our guide. The air inside was pleasantly chill and got even colder as we descended the 411 steps to the heart of the cave. It was a mesmerising sight, and knowing that this was the nature’s own doing, left me amazed and humble.
At a cosy taverna we ate the best Greek salad to date. The ripe tomatoes paired with the salty feta cheese, olives, onions, the rich olive oil and the homemade bread, almost made me religious for a moment.
The beach close to our quarters, was small, secluded and blessedly free of crowds. We had taken a boat to a famous beach the day before, but we’d barely found a free space to lay down our blankets, so this felt like paradise in comparison.
Another short boat ride away was the bigger island Paros. We took the bus to the other side of the island. I don’t remember anything else from that trip than the hours we spent in Naoussa. Several boats painted in bright colours lay bobbing in the water close to the restaurants that encircled the bay. It may sound simple, but it was the most beautiful view, and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. We sat there for hours, eating seafood and drinking Greek white wine.
***
So far, it had been a “normal” vacation, or tedious as Papa would’ve called it. That all ended when we sat foot on Santorini. Getting a room was easy enough, and relieved of our heavy rucksacks we went for a stroll in the main street of Fira. Every other shop was a jewellery shop, and the necklaces displayed bore the resemblance to what pharaohs and Cleopatra wore. Heavy, massive and ridiculously expensive. For each shop they seemed to grow bigger and uglier. We had quite a laugh at that.
The most peculiar thing happened at the restaurant we had lunch. It was a terrace with a breathtaking view over the Aegean Sea. We’d decided to stay for a while and ordered more iced tea, making ourselves comfortable under the big parasol. We had both brought a book, and for a while we read in silence. A repetitive sound of paper being ripped, caught my attention.
An elderly woman had taken up residence at the table next to ours. She had short frizzy hair, more grey than brown now, her glasses were round with a white frame. The summer dress she wore had big patterns in green, red, white, and orange. On her feet were white flip-flops.
“Stop staring,” Timothy whispered.
He startled me and I looked annoyed at him, but averted my eyes and took a sip of my drink. The moment the sound of ripped paper reached my ears again, my eyes were drawn to the spectacle at the other table.
The woman read a book too. A paperback. The curious thing I almost couldn’t fathom, was that whenever she finished a page, she ripped it out and placed it in a pile under her plate. Why would anyone want to do such a thing? What if you needed to go back some pages to look up something you’ve missed. It could never be read by another person, since she apparently left pages wherever she sat down to read. It bore no logic, and it irked me.
“Aren’t you curious about why she does it?” I whispered to Timothy.
“Not particularly. My book is far too interesting, and you won’t get an answer unless you ask her, and I guess you aren’t inclined to do that,” was his phlegmatic answer.
Timothy’s ability to turn off the world and disappear into his reading or writing, was admirable, but now it almost made me jealous of his book. I wanted to speculate with someone, solve this odd conundrum. There would be no more reading on my part after this, so I took out my phone instead.
Want to solve a mystery for me?
Pray tell! I’m bored to death and about to shoot the wall. P
Also available on AO3
Friendly warning: after 25 years the mystery is still unsolved. Don’t be shy about suggesting what the meaning of this appalling behaviour could be

Hi! Do you have an easy peasy guide to skincare and hygiene for depressed dummies? 😃
Hi love! Sharing a high-level, basic skincare routine and hygiene tips to follow:
Morning Skincare:
Gentle facial cleanser & water
Vitamin C serum + hyaluronic acid
Facial moisturizer
Sunscreen designed for your face (at least SPF 50 – I think that this La Roche Posay SPF 60 choice is the best option for the money)
Apply sunscreen to your hands, neck, and any parts that will be exposed to the sun (Don't forget to use an SPF lip balm, too!)
Nighttime Skincare:
Remove any makeup (I love these Simple makeup wipes!)
Gentle cleanser
Toner/serums (only use AHAs like glycolic acid or lactic acid and retinol/retinoids at night, using them during the day can increase chances of sunburning)
Facial moisturizer (can be heavier than the one you use during the day, especially in the winter or if you have dry skin)
Spot treatments (if needed)
Eye cream
Skincare Extras:
Exfoliate your face 2-3 times/week (I love the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads but the CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser is a great drugstore option!)
Always use disposable cloths instead of a regular towel on your face to reduce bacteria, breakouts, or infections (I love the Clean Skin Club ones!)
Exfoliate your body 2-3 times a week using a dry brush or a scrub (I love the CeraVe Salicylic Acid Body Cleanser, but my favorite is the OUAI Sugar Scrub) and follow it up with a hydrating body moisturizer
Always exfoliate and moisturize before shaving, waxing, or other body hair removal treatments (look up the timeframes for the type of hair removal you choose)
Scrub under your nails daily with antibacterial soap & water and a nail brush
Vaseline is a versatile staple item that can be used as an affordable alternative to an eye cream, cuticle oil, lip balm, or hand cream, and can be used to treat any dry, cracked, or rough patches on the skin
Use a hand lotion and moisturizer on your feet with socks every night before bed
Aloe vera and coconut oil are great skincare staples to keep on hand to soothe burns, irritation, or inflamed skin
Haircare Tips:
Shampoo your skull, condition the rest: Focus shampoo on your roots and work it through your scalp; concentrate conditioner on the ends and work your way up until you reach the base of your skull - around your upper ear lobe
Always comb, never brush, your hair when wet: Gently use a wide-tooth comb, from root to tip, on wet hair to prevent breakage
Use a special towel to dry your hair: My favorite is from Crown Affair (pricey for what it is but worthwhile in the long-term), but a Turbie Twist from the drugstore works infinitely better than a regular towel that weighs down and causes frizzy, damaged hair
Always use a heat protection spray before blow drying or straightening/curling your hair: (Briogeo and Oribe products are my love for all haircare products, including their blowdry creams – also love R +Co. for a heat protection styling mist)
Choose your hair ties wisely: Use seamless or silk hair ties exclusively to prevent breakage or awkward creases on your hair. Wear a silk scrunchie if you prefer. These hair ties from Amazon are my holy grail (only $7 for 100 hair ties!), and they come in a portable ziplock bag
Use dryer sheets to minimize hair frizz and water or Vaseline to slick back fly-aways
Other Hygiene Tips:
Brush teeth, floss, & skincare (2x/day); Get a water pick, too, if you can!
Use a toothbrush cover at all times; Close the toilet seat before flushing
Wash your body towels at least once a week
Wash your pillowcases weekly and sheets at least once every 2 weeks
Throw out and replace your mascara every 2-3 months
Change your underwear and socks daily or more after sweating/working out
For those who menstruate, change your pad or tampon every 3-4 hours
Vulva owners: Use a fragrance-free soap on the outside, only water to clean the inside – no fancy wipes or douching. Wipe front to back!
Wear cotton underwear whenever possible; Find a fabric that breathes
Have a similar buttocks cleansing routine that you do for your face to prevent embarrassing zits or acne
Don't shave between waxes; Use tweezers if necessary a few days after your hair removal treatment
Always wash your hands before touching your face
Hope this helps xx
