Im back with another theory/analysis yall!

A lot of folks are theorizing that the orange side is possessing/influencing Logan and working through him, which is understandable seeing how the orange side most likely represents anger and Logan is definitely feeling plenty of that right now.

However, upon revisiting a few episodes, I'm starting to think we've got it in reverse.

Yes, in WTIT Logan was clearly overcome by orange/anger, but he wasn't the only one who was frustrated.

Thomas was, too.

He was visibly overly frustrated by Nico not replying to his text, and it's his anger we see right before Logan's outburst, which he appears confused by.

If we remember in AA part 1, when they're discussing Virgil's disappearance, this exchange takes place;

("He" being thomas)

This directly states that a side can only influence each other through Thomas, be it by fear or anger.

Without his anxiety present, Thomas was incapable of being worried about anything, which in turn also made it so the sides couldn't feel fear either.

(They are a part of Thomas, after all... it would only make sense that their well-being/emotional state is tied to him)

I do understand that in some cases it does still work the other way around, particularly with Virgil giving Thomas reasons to worry and Thomas's heartbreak being reflected primarily on Patton while Logan was unaffected, but it seems like Thomas still remains the key aspect as to where those emotions spread out to, or where they come from.

So ultimately, the only reason the orange side managed to have that effect on Logan was because it was Thomas's anger that channeled him, and Logan's own anger just made him susceptible to a sort of "contamination" once orange was present.

Song and Coyle have a very cat and cat relationship, thats the way I always like to describe them. Song is constantly testing Coyle’s authority and power, as a cop and as a prime asset. It often sets up its own traps and is constantly harassing him with bricks and bottles. I always think Coyle has a thing for people that test him, cause it gives him and reason to let loose and exercise his authority, and Song is just that. Sure they have their softer moments, mostly when Song has Coyle tied to a chair, but its mostly chasing each other around.

Riz Gukgak and his bloody hands

SUCH a metal visual and motif. Kalina, Baron, they tease him for it, they twist it into one of his worst qualities, just as they belittle that he his heart, leverage his fear that he cannot love anyone enough.

Riz Gukgak loves. He will claw himself to shreds on love. He will dig through reality, lacerating himself on crystal, just to help his childhood friend. He will hiss at the devil, he will bite out eyes, he will do anything to help his friends feel safe. He will attempt to eat an entire dragon. Out of love for a father he barely knew.

Another thing that I love about YOI is that Victor and Yuuri's love goes beyond your average idol/fan relationship

Because typically, a plot line like Yuri on Ice's is almost always a recipe for disaster. They had every opportunity to make Victor this huge egotistical asshole who cares for nobody but himself, therefore turning his relationship with Yuuri into something toxic and unhealthy.

But they didn't.

Instead, they decided to make Victor one of the silliest, lighthearted characters on the show. He's a supportive, energetic, loving character who spends the entire series being over the moon about helping his lover reach his full potential.

Victor isn't perfect. He has many flaws. His emotional intelligence lacks in many areas, and he isn't great at comforting people. His pep talks can be tone deaf and he tends to like the attention he gets a little too much at times. and yes, he may be a bit overconfident at times (even if that confidence is earned).

But never once has his 'living legend' status ever affected his love and desire for Yuuri.

He truly sees Yuuri as his equal, and he loves him like breathing.

This much is obvious throughout most of the show, just based on Victor's actions, words, and open affections for Yuuri (more of this is talked about in my previous post). But it becomes even clearer in episode 10, when we get insight on the real reason why Victor showed up to Hasetsu to coach Yuuri.

All it took for this man to fall head over heels for Yuuri was a drunken dance (and maybe some dry humping...)

Their relationship is so perfectly set up. All of Victor's flirting, instead of being something creepy and predatory in nature, was just him being oblivious to the fact that Yuuri had no recollection of the banquet. He'd been trying so hard to get Yuuri to acknowledge what had happened that night by teasing him and making moves on him, and Yuuri was clueless the entire time.

It's such a silly concept, but it really does change everything.

I'm so glad that Victor and Yuuri's relationship didn't turn out to be something toxic and uncomfortable, and I'm glad Victor doesn't follow the stereotypical idol/celebrity character norms. They made his character extremely likable and easy to love, and made Victor and Yuuri's relationship into something so incredibly beautiful. The entire show was so well done, and the amount of thought that was put into each and every detail is evident.

There is so much to love about Yuri on ice, and this is just one small example of that.

Straw Hat headcanon:

Ever since their separation at Sabaody, all of the Straw Hats have a problem sleeping to some degree without a member of the crew nearby.

Luffy is the worst of them all and will find a member of his crew to help him sleep. Sometimes, he’ll wrap himself around either Zoro, Usopp, or Chopper to sleep again.

Since joining the crew at Thriller Bark, Brook finds it much easier to sleep if someone is nearby.

Chopper is a pure cuddle bug and usually will either rest his head on Robin’s lap (much to Brook and Sanji’s jealousy) while she’s reading or curl up in Zoro’s lap while he’s napping.
