Trope that kills me dead: some 20 year old fuck having major beef with a random teenager because they’re both annoying and obnoxious in their own personal way and their interactions usually consist of them fighting.

Now stay with me. The teenager doesn’t really have a positive adult figure in their life that they can turn to when they’re going through something difficult. They probably haven’t had one for most of their life and because of this they act very guarded and/or push the idea that they’re So Incredibly Adult.

Now listen to me this is very important. Are you listening. Listen. The teenager finds themselves in an absolutely devastating situation that’s just their breaking point and the part of them that’s still a little kid in need of comfort and support just comes out at full force. And they do the first thing they can think of in the moment. Which is calling that 20 year old fuck for help because they’re the only adult they can trust and rely on in the moment and the 20 year old understands that the situation is different and helps out this kid they’ve disliked for so long because they’re still a kid and making sure that kids are safe is more important to them than any petty rivalry and ggrhfjf froths at the mouth and vibrates violently.
