a personal belief about Tres Horny Boys that I'm really drawn to is that wherever they go (especially as a group), they're constantly making everyone of compatible orientations fall in love with them with their combined good looks and bumbling roguish charms, but:

Merle is one random lightbulb moment away from realizing he's aromantic,

Magnus has been romance-averse since Raven's Roost, and has a profound disinterest in the "special someone comes along to Fix that" trope, and

Taako would be down to clown, except his Openly Gay, Closeted Goth Standards are so astronomically high that only someone as goth and moderately unhinged as Literal Grim Reaper could ever hope to meet them — and frankly, Taako kinda doesn't register flirting from people below his league as anything different than another adoring fan. time to autograph their face and then immediately forget their name

God getting that memory back had to be the worst, assuming Lucretia had gone up to the deck after and put two and two together (that Taako was left on deck with a smoking wand, and Barry wasn’t) before erasing that too. The options are “remembering murdering one of your closest friends/family upon gaining the rest of your memories” and, in the event Lucretia/hadn’t/ erased it, “walking around with the memory of killing a man who was glad for it, thousands of feet in the air, but with no idea how you got there or why you were killing him—“ and that being a memory that doesn’t fit neatly into whatever “normal life” memories he might have been left with.

Randomly remembering the moment in TAZ: Balance when Fisher was being fed everyone's memory aboard the Starblaster, specifically as it got to Taako.

What a hellish existence that'd be, even for as short as it lasted.

The only thing you can process and understand being the fact that you had just raised your wand and murdered a man you do not recognize. Instead of shock or fear or confusion on his face, you see gratitude. You can recognize that, as baffling as it is, for the few seconds its there before this man falls over the railing behind him and begins to plummet. You don't recognize where you are, or how you got here. You murdered a man. You don't know why. You just know that you did. That he was glad you did it.
