Elevate Your Routine with the Latest Korean Cosmetics and Skincare Trends
In the ever-evolving world of beauty, Korean cosmetics and skincare continue to lead the way with innovation, efficacy, and style. At Keautiful, we’re passionate about delivering excellence and making high-quality K-Beauty products accessible to everyone. Today, we're diving into the latest Korean cosmetics and skincare trends that are transforming routines worldwide. From innovative skincare solutions to must-have makeup and wellness essentials, here's how you can elevate your beauty regimen with the freshest trends from Korea.
1. The Rise of Multifunctional Skincare
Gone are the days of using a dozen different products to achieve flawless skin. Korean skincare has embraced multifunctional products that simplify routines while delivering exceptional results. Look for products that combine hydration, anti-aging, and sun protection in one. For instance, BB creams and CC creams with SPF offer coverage, sun protection, and skincare benefits all in one easy step.
2. Essence Overload: The Power of Hydration
Essences have become a staple in Korean skincare routines, and for good reason. These lightweight, hydrating formulas penetrate deep into the skin, boosting moisture and preparing your skin for the next steps in your routine. Look for essences with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, fermented ingredients, and niacinamide to enhance hydration and brighten your complexion.
Tumblr media
3. Innovative Sheet Masks: Your At-Home Spa Experience
Sheet masks are a Korean beauty phenomenon that continues to evolve. Modern sheet masks offer targeted treatments for various skin concerns, from brightening and anti-aging to soothing and hydrating. Incorporate sheet masks into your weekly routine for a pampering at-home spa experience that delivers instant results.
4. Dewy Skin Finish: Embrace the Glow
The dewy, glass-skin look is a defining feature of Korean beauty trends. Achieving this radiant finish requires products that enhance your skin’s natural glow. Opt for luminous foundations, highlighters, and finishing sprays that provide a youthful, dewy sheen. Korean brands often use light-reflecting ingredients that create a flawless, glowing complexion.
5. Skincare Meets Makeup: BB and CC Creams
BB and CC creams are beloved for their ability to combine skincare benefits with makeup coverage. These all-in-one products offer hydration, sun protection, and a flawless finish. BB creams are great for light coverage and daily wear, while CC creams provide color correction and more coverage for a polished look.
6. Sun Care is a Must: Protect and Perfect
Sun protection is a cornerstone of Korean skincare. Modern Korean sunscreens are lightweight, non-greasy, and often come with added skincare benefits like hydration and anti-aging properties. Incorporate a broad-spectrum SPF into your daily routine to protect your skin from harmful UV rays and maintain a youthful appearance.
7. Hair and Body Care: Holistic Beauty Approach
Korean beauty isn’t just about skincare and makeup; it extends to hair and body care as well. Explore hair care products infused with nourishing ingredients like ginseng and camellia oil. For body care, consider exfoliating scrubs, rich moisturizers, and soothing body masks that keep your skin soft and radiant.
8. Accessories to Enhance Your Routine
Korean beauty accessories, such as facial rollers and gua sha tools, can elevate your skincare routine. These tools help to stimulate circulation, reduce puffiness, and enhance the absorption of skincare products. Incorporate them into your routine for a spa-like experience at home.
Tumblr media
9. Wellness Integration: Beauty from Within
Korean beauty philosophy emphasizes holistic wellness as a key component of beauty. Consider integrating wellness practices into your routine, such as consuming beauty-boosting teas or supplements. These can support healthy skin from the inside out and complement your external skincare regimen.

Products were gifted for free by OOTD skincare in exchange for my honest reviews. I really adored the various colors that these star acne patches come in. As you can see in the pictures, you get a sheet of each color. I found that these worked as well as other acne patches I’ve used over the years with the added bonus of being in a fun shape instead of the boring circles a lot of patches come in.
I’ll make a separate post once I’ve tried out the foot mask properly with a before and after. But I did the first mask on my mom and it made a huge difference in her dry skin on her feet. I’ve mentioned before that she’s diabetic and people who have diabetes can have really dry skin that leads to cracks and/or cuts that can lead to infection and even amputation in extreme cases if not properly taken care of. So skin health is super important for her and I usually do a foot mask on her at least every other week to keep her skin in check. This foot mask requires a rinse off but the tops of her feet were so smooth after use, and it got rid of a lot of the top dry layer of skin on the bottom of her feet thanks to the exfoliating acids in the mask.
As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. It is $10 for 80 patches. You can find the acne patches on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/47it6kH
You can find the foot mask here (you can pick either a two pack or four pack): https://amzn.to/3G5cGzY

What did you do/use for your facial beauty glow up?
Lip Filler.
I have 1.5 mL of lip filler at the moment and probably won’t get more any time soon. In my mind, it’s the perfect amount; it gives my lips a delicious, just bitten look, and it doesn’t look or feel unnatural. I’m someone who loves subtle changes; I’m not the sort of girl who’d go crazy with surgery, and I prefer to make my changes slowly. I started with .5 mL, slowly went up to 1.5 mL over the course of two more appointments, and I think plumping my lips up completely changed my lower face and made me look younger and more feminine.
Polynucleotide Injections.
This treatment is major in South Korea; it’s very popular, and one of my best friends went and came back singing its praises. After weight loss, this is the most important thing I have ever done for myself. These injections boosted my collagen production and made the terrible dark circles and puffiness under my eyes disappear. It took a few weeks for me to see the results, but I look like I’ve had an upper and lower blepharoplasty now; my eye area is completely rejuvenated and the skin is bright, and while my initial reaction to the set of treatments I had was intense, the end result was better than I could’ve ever hoped for.
A Comprehensive Skincare Routine.
The skin is the body’s largest organ, and the first step to learning how to care for it is understanding that you and it must be hydrated. Learning that what I put into my body was just as important as what I put onto my skin helped me change my approach to skincare. I mostly use French, Korean, and medical-grade skincare products, and I switch them out each season so that I can approach my needs correctly. Washing and changing my sheets twice weekly, going on a low estrogen birth control, and adding N-acetylcysteine to my supplements helped me more than I could ever say.
Minoxidil.
Using Minoxidil to grow my eyebrows out was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. I love the look of thick, lush eyebrows, but I don’t actually like thick brows. I used minoxidil to grow my eyebrows until they were thick and I could have them threaded and thinned out just a bit, straightened, and tinted until they were the shape and shade I wanted. Minoxidil is a great tool; it's decently affordable, and while the results take a while to appear, once they've been appearing, they’re very noticeable. I also use a regular lash serum on my lashes to grow them; it’s from The Ordinary, and I think it works slowly but nicely. You do have to be very precise with your application of Minoxidil, but other than that, it’s very good for filling in sparse eyebrows.
Weight Loss.
Losing over 80 pounds, doing a complete overhaul of my diet and limiting the amount of processed foods I consume, making an effort to care for my body and mind, and changing my mental and physical health for the better completely changed my world. My insulin resistance is totally gone, I’m healed from the PCOS that once plagued me, I no longer eat the foods I have sensitivies to, and the inflammation and water retention I’d have the morning after are gone, and I feel like my best self. My double chin has been vanquished, my bone structure is visible again, and I love the way my nose looks, and I am so much more confident about the shape of my face. Losing weight is the best thing I have ever done for myself, and I’d recommend it to anyone who feels like they need to overhaul their life.
Proper Styling
Learning how to do my makeup, contouring my face with self-tanner, and styling my hair were all major parts of becoming more confident with my face. Now that I know what I’m doing with myself and I’ve been able to identify what suits me best, things come easier. Proper styling is what’ll make or break you. You could be the most beautiful woman in the world, but if you don’t care for your appearance, you’ll struggle. I put a lot of time and effort into learning what looked best on me, learning how to style myself, learning what worked with my facial shape and bone structure, and figuring out which lash maps, brow shape, makeup style, and colors suited the overall aesthetic I was going for. Learning about makeup products, trying a variety of different makeup styles, and new makeup techniques made a world of difference for my styling journey too.
Braces.
I had braces on for just over a year—traditional metal, power chains most of the time—and they were worth every cent. I was always insecure over my teeth, and fixing them has really made it easier for me to smile and express myself. Although they’re not perfectly straight or blindingly white (Kirsten Dunst is known for her smile for a reason), I’m confident, and I love them. Taking care of my teeth is something that I really struggled with at one point, and I have had to make a real effort to get better at that. I still have my dental routines, wear my retainer at night and through the day, and do brightening treatments, but I’m focused on the health of my mouth instead of aesthetics now.
These are the major things.

skincare recommendations ♡
note: i have very dry skin and don't suffer from acne or oily skin. these products worked for me, but may not work for everyone!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
avocado nourishing hydration mask by kiehl's ୨୧
this stuff literally changed my life!! my skin was literally so smooth and texture-less after using it??? originally i had gotten this as a freebe in a small test bottle, i was a little grossed out at the texture of it at first (as i had never used a face mask before), but i'm so glad i used it!! 10/10 would recommend!!
beauty of joseon products ୨୧
out of all their products, i would personally recommend:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡ ginseng essense water
almost acts as a toner but without a lot of the harsher acids. fun fact, Hwang Jini, known as 'the most beautiful woman in the Joseon Dynasty', used ginseng root water whilst bathing! ginseng is a herb that has long been used in Korea as a natural way to supply moisture to the skin. this product helped even out my skin tone so much!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡ green plum refreshing cleanser
my favourite cleanser everr!! doesn't leave my skin dry after , i swear my skin looked so dewy after using it!! has an almost minty fresh feel to it! i was a little worried about using it at first, as it has a slightly acidic formula , but i'm so glad i tried it!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡ red bean refreshing pore mask
cleaned out the excess sebum i had on my chin! it doesn't dry fully so it didn't strip the moisture from my skin either, my face looked so much brighter after i used it !
Korean skincare  🔛 🔝 !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
innisfree products ୨୧
now, i feel some of innisfree's products are a tad bit overrated , BUT i still love thier products none the less! their face masks are super cheap and affordable , i love the dewy rose one. their green tea range is super good too! i LOVE their lip products as well.
i haven't tried their cherry blossom range , and while it is super pretty, a lot of people have been saying that it either dried their skin out or broke them out, so maybe avoid that just in case. (if anyone has purchased it i would love to hear what you think in the comments!) remember, just because the packaging is pretty doesn't mean it's good !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
rose water ୨୧
u can make this at home or buy it , (let me know if you want a recipe for homemade rose water!) i have one by natio and it leaves my skin super soft and hydrated! (i love natio entire rosewater collection, i would def recommend checking it out!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
face sunscreen by mecca cosmetica ୨୧
approved by the cancer council aus !! never gotten sun burnt when i use it, and it doesn't feel greasy at all, nor dry out my skin !

Bleach Headcanons: Skincare
Who’s the skincare expert and who uses just soap and water?
Tumblr media
Jushiro Ukitake:
He doesn’t believe in flashy skincare, thinking it needs to be convenient, gentle and affordable. Think of brands like Cerave, Cetaphil, and La Roche Posay. He’ll probably have a trusted cleanser he’s been using for years (centuries?), a reliable serum, maybe retinoid based (gotta use something anti-aging at this stage) and a good, hydrating moisturizer (illness makes his skin dry and he hates looking that way).
Byakuya Kuchiki:
Can and will only buy the best of the best. A skincare snob. Even if there’s an amazing drugstore brand, he refuses to use it. SK II, Tatcha, and La Mer are all you’ll find in his bathroom cabinet. Of course he follows the 7 step Korean skincare routine. Cleanse twice, toner, essence, serum, moisturizer eye cream. Adds a sunscreen if he plans on going out. He will not compromise his routine for anything, so be prepared to wait for him as he goes through this process everyday, twice.
Renji Abarai:
He’ll pretend like he doesn’t do any skincare but he has his little stash of items he uses for self-indulgence. He enjoys wearing face masks (thanks to Rukia), which he applies after using a cleanser that’s trending, like from Tula or Drunk Elephant. The man somehow has balanced skin so he’ll use an everyday moisturizer like the Clinique Moisture Surge.
Kensei Muguruma:
He uses his body wash as face wash, and whatever body moisturizer he has on hand he uses on his face too. What’s the point after all? It’s skin. As long as it’s clean and not cracking, there isn’t a problem.
Mayuri Kurotsuchi:
He creates his own skincare but it’s kind of questionable. He claims his skin can tolerate quite a lot, so his skincare always has heavy amounts of acids in it; glycolic acid, salicylic acid, ascorbic acid. Top this off with a heavy dosage retinol. Does it work? We may never know from all the makeup he uses on his face. At least he removes all of it before sleeping (?).
Kisuke Urahara:
He also makes his own concoctions, but in a much less dramatic way than Mayuri. Grows his own ingredients, like oranges for vitamin C, mint for salicylic acid, and carrots for retinol. Think of his products like a  clean, organic skincare line that he wouldn’t sell to anyone unless he’s happy with it himself. He rarely buys commercially available products but the one thing he will spend his money on is sheet masks, they’re convenient and he honestly finds them tedious to make on his own.
Shinji Hirako:
He may not show it, but this man is very self conscious about his appearance. He has a mix of both popular and indie skin care brands. Think Belif, Youth to the People and Drunk Elephant. He probably regularly cleanses and uses a moisturizer, maybe something with vitamin C in it, since he can’t have people seeing the dark circles under his eyes.
Ichigo Kurosaki:
Essence? Toner? Serums? Isn’t a cleanser just soap? Give him some bar soap and a CeraVe moisturizer. He doesn’t have time to figure this shit out. There’s people that need to be saved and stuff.
Rose Otoribashi:
Yes, he knows the difference between a toner and an essence. He also thinks essences are a gimmick. Give him a balancing cleanser for his oily skin, and a toner with some salicylic acid in it to further help the oil. Add a vitamin C serum and a lightweight moisturizer and he’s ready to rock.

IRIS!!!!!!!!!!!! what is - in detail - ur skincare routine + producsts that you SWEAR BY.
okay things i swear by I have a super simple one actually and it’s rlly affordable (aka things that my mom taught me she’s my youthful 34 queen)
1. when i’m in the shower i use; the cetaphil cleanser and panoxyl ance foaming cream (the highest percent which is like 10)
2. out the shower; loreal collagen cream
these two steps are for when i have bad acne ↓
3. korean face masks (any hyaluronic acid one will work)
4. mighty pimple patches after the mask
Tumblr media
Guys i’ve tried many thing and simple and easy is always the best way to go!
MAKEUP TIP TOO!
Bb creams are your best friend for light coverage days or simply putting your foundation over your underbags and uneven areas helps you look no make up, makeup look!
also i don’t use primer on my face i feel like it’s unnecessary step just wash and moisturize your face first and use setting powder!

Could you say what your skin care and makeup routine is? What are your fave makeup products? Ty :)
Hmmm long answer because I love this stuff =(^.^)=
Right now my skincare routine is all over the place, but I can tell u products I’m using.
I use the Caudalie foaming cleanser
In the morning, I’ll use either isclinical vitamin c serum or caudalie vinosource serum after cleansing and then I’ll use Nuxe creme fraiche moisturizer. It’s amazing! I just ran out and will have to buy it again. I’ve been using a Tatcha sunscreen and it’s OK - I’m not going to repurchase it. I have a lot of sunscreens to try rn, but I really like innisfree sunscreen. Good price point & works well. Trying a bottle of eltamd sunscreen next.
I also really like cosrx products - def more affordable and work really well.
I’m so bad at exfoliating, but when I do - the Dr Dennis Gross pads are great. I used mandelic acid by face reality for a bit too which I also like.
I do some research on skincare and try a bunch of stuff. I was in Paris earlier this year which is why my skincare routine is like all French rn lol. I have some expensive products that I got for free from friends who worked for estheticians. I cut out tretinoin from my routine bc it was making me soooo dehydrated and sensitive.
For makeup: the likely makeup clown blush is amazing! I use the yellow blush every day. I think it’s essential to find liquid eyeliners with good tips - rn I like the fenty beauty and rare beauty liquid eyeliners. I also love white liquid eyeliner - makeup forever has a good one. And for lip products idk lol I just go in sephora and buy random stuff. I like a lot of korean lip products rn, the glosses and tints are fun. Colored mascara always! Idk - I think it’s just fun to figure out new ways to use what u already own. I also love Aquaphor…

the diamond studs I’ve been wearing for months on end have started wearing out my ears. The piercing hole seems to get bigger and bigger everyday so I decided to take a break for a while and wear smaller/ lighter studs to make the hole close a little. I went behind my mother’s back and placed a Swarovski order because I really wanted some simple everyday pieces and she’ll kill me if she finds out (yall know by now that Mama Cherry only lets me wear real stuff and Swarovski is like a half blood to her). She’s going to fight with me when she sees them on, but I really wanted something simple for work and casual night outs.
I’ve always wanted to buy those Korean skincare devices (medicube, specifically) but I didn’t have the time to shop in Korea because of my hectic work schedule. I ended up buying some devices at the airport, and I decided to try the Face Factory’s Rink Shot device. I’ll be honest, I was skeptical at first because of the low price point but I was like who cares, let’s try it out. it works so well??? I tried out a couple of nights back with my nighttime skincare and I woke up with glowing skin. Like, glowing. Glowing to a point where I thought to myself, I don’t need to wear make up today. I was really pleasantly surprised by how good it was, and I’ve been very consistent with it since I got it. that got me thinking if this affordable device is so good, medicube’s must be even better. So when I hit my late 20s in the next couple of years, I’m going to buy the latest medicube device + their collagen serums.
Diwali season is crazy and I have decided, in typical cherry-impromptu-fashion, to host a Diwali dinner for 10 of my friends tomorrow night.
my mom and dad rejected a couple of rishtas that came my way whilst I was travelling. My mother, very diplomatically, turned the family down. They’re a pretty major family that we’ve known for 3 generations. I later found the boy’s LinkedIn and I was aghast. Not only does he have no purpose, ambition, sense of identity, but he’s also quite unattractive.
In terms of my beauty routine, I need to get my extensions refilled and shaped and get my last 2 sessions of EMS and exilis. I’m really happy with the results I’ve gotten so far, and I’m trying to work out as consistently as possible to get even better results.

Any sunscreen recs for oily skin that’s not pore clogging, clogged pores are so shitty and so many sunscreens do that..no wonder nobody wants to wear it, the ones are also pretty expensive (from what I’ve researched) ❤️
Hello, I'm entering my skincare influencer phase again 😂 if only I still got PR
Korean sunscreen is going to change your life. Buy it directly from their website or Stylevana is a reputable retailer and always has deals. Can't tell you the last time I paid full price for anything K Beauty. The shipping time is horrendous, so stock up (I usually stock up twice a year and buy 2-3 sunscreens at a time).
These sunscreen are insanely affordable at about $15-20 each! And they'll last you a few months.
The three I rotate between (all SPF50++) that have kept me sunburn free and leave my oily skin not a disgusting mess are:
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel
SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum
Wearing sunscreen will not only help with avoiding sunburn, but can also help with diminishing dark spots, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation that exposure to sun unprotected can cause.
And if you think I'm kidding - I'm almost 30 and my skin looks younger than when I was 23. My derm is shocked at the results of sunscreen and proper hydration.

In regards to the advice you gave on skincare, you don't need high end, expensive skincare for your skin to look good.
Affordable skincare can provide amazing results as well. I have tried loccitane products and honesty I have korean skincare which is 3 times less expensive and works way better.
Taking care of your skin is good but so it is not spending a fortune ( you might not have ) on expensive stuff
Yes, I agree La Roche Posay, Embryolisse, and Uriage make many of my favorite skincare products of all time!

Skincare Advice
As a person living in the UK, here is my routine with affordable options. I personally have combination skin, but this routine should work with all skin types.
-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ-
Morning Routine:
Pat your face with water. Refreshing and, if necessary, an entire morning routine (e.g. if you wake up late).
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion - put the lotion on a cotton pad and rub softly on your face. Helps open the pores.
Vitamin B Serum - use one drop on each cheek, the chin, the upper lip, the forehead and the nose, then rub in softly. Really improved the quality of my skin.
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Shine Control Day Moisturiser - put a small squeeze on the same areas as the previous step and rub into the skin. Moisturises and helps balance your oils during the day. You can either leave it on to sink in the moisturiser or wipe the excess off with a cotton pad.
Tumblr media
Evening Routine:
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion - put the lotion on a cotton pad and rub softly on your face. Helps open the pores.
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Night Treatment Gel - use the same as the day moisturiser, just be aware it is very slippery!
General Advice:
Drinking water really helps your skin and your general health, so try to drink at least 1 litre a day (if, like me, you forget to drink water, I advise downloading an app to remind you when to drink water).
The Boots website often has sales of higher quality products, so if you want to improve the quality of your skincare it's worth a look.
Research your skin type and skincare in general, so that you can maximise your routine and be more confident in your purchases.
Have specific goals in mind - some websites (such as Skin+Me) have quizzes that help you figure out skin type and goals, so even if you don't buy their package, that service on its own is helpful.
Set an ideal skincare product as a goal, so that you have something to look forward to. This can, for example, be Korean skincare that you feel could really help but you are worried you won't stick to your routine enough to buy straight away. Start doing your routine, and if it does stick, you can reward yourself.
