It was nighttime, dusk to be exact. He couldn’t sleep that night.

He lays in the dim room on the bed that was cold in a cooling away, a way that would make anyone fall asleep but not him. At least not tonight.

He observed your features as you slept, looking almost lifeless before him. The only thing reassuring him was the small breaths that you took and the small mumbles that tried escaping your lips as you slept; you were a bit of a talker in your sleep. Not that he didn’t mind; he was one himself.

The way your hair fell on your face made you look so ethereal as the moonlight shined on your face through the cracks of the curtains. He liked you this way.

As he laid there, he wondered how many times you had dreamt of him, both now and before your relationship.

You two were friends who met through mutual acquaintances. It wasn't planned; he didn't even find himself wanting to date before this.
