Why do millenials and above get so triggered with the fucking star acne patches

Products were gifted for free by OOTD skincare in exchange for my honest reviews. I really adored the various colors that these star acne patches come in. As you can see in the pictures, you get a sheet of each color. I found that these worked as well as other acne patches I’ve used over the years with the added bonus of being in a fun shape instead of the boring circles a lot of patches come in.

I’ll make a separate post once I’ve tried out the foot mask properly with a before and after. But I did the first mask on my mom and it made a huge difference in her dry skin on her feet. I’ve mentioned before that she’s diabetic and people who have diabetes can have really dry skin that leads to cracks and/or cuts that can lead to infection and even amputation in extreme cases if not properly taken care of. So skin health is super important for her and I usually do a foot mask on her at least every other week to keep her skin in check. This foot mask requires a rinse off but the tops of her feet were so smooth after use, and it got rid of a lot of the top dry layer of skin on the bottom of her feet thanks to the exfoliating acids in the mask.

TW for skin picking

I think I finally found a way to healthily combat my anxious skin picking problem.

I found these star-shaped, hydrocolloid and salicylic acid medicated acne patches. They look like star stickers, but are actually like, zit bandaids. Everytime I get the urge to pick at my skin compulsively I put a star patch on the acne that’s bothering me and it’s working.

Acne & Skincare Update (7/11/24) - New Features, New Name! 🛀🏾

Six new skincare treatments are now available for teen and older sims to use at the sink under the “Skincare…” pie menu option.

In order for all of the face masks and skincare treatments to show up properly, please install all of the package files in the twinsimming_Acne Mod Skincare Overlays folder alongside the mod file itself.

Thank you to @nectar-cellar and @johziii for creating these lovely overlays and allowing me to include them in this mod! You can download the original versions of their overlays here and here. They can be installed along side the versions included with the mod!

In honor of the addition of skincare features, I have renamed the mod from the Acne Mod to Acne & Skincare to better reflect the expanded scope of the project 💙

The different skincare options, their benefits, and prices are listed below:

Sheet Mask (§2)

Gives custom Hydrated moodlet

Boosts Plant Sim Hydration motive

Boosts Mermaid Hydration motive

Boosts Hygiene motive

Removes dehydration related moodlets from Plant Sims and Mermaids

Chance of removing negative Uncomfortable moodlet

Reduces Acne Breakout, Heating Up (vampire), and Too Much Sun (vampire) moodlet timeouts by 2 hours for every hour the mask is worn

Gives custom Clay Face moodlet

Chance of removing Uncomfortable moodlet

Reduces Sunburn, Itchy, Mosquito Bite (low, med, high), Bee Sting, and Ouch My Face moodlet timeouts by 2 hours for every hour the mask is worn

Boosts Energy motive

Chance of removing Stressed moodlet

Reduces Bad Night’s Sleep, Buzz Crashed, Liquid Crash, and Fatigued moodlet timeouts by 2 hours for every hour the patches are worn

If my Energy Drinks mod is installed, Energy Crash and Craving Caffeine moodlet timeouts are reduced by 2 hours for every hour the patches are worn

Chance of removing Angry moodlet

Reduces moodlet hit from Acne Breakout moodlet by half (-20 to -10)

Reduces Embarrassed moodlet from Acne Breakout timeout by 2 hours for every hour the stickers are worn

Anti-Aging Cream (§10) - Adult and Elders Only

Gives custom Fountain of Youth moodlet

20% chance of removing wrinkles on Adults and Elders

20% chance of removing liver spots on Elders

10% chance of extending a sim’s lifespan by 1 day

10% chance of improving a sim’s midlife crisis

Note: Using the skincare treatments will not remove any Costume Makeup your sim is wearing, the overlay will simply cover it.

After the skincare treatments wear off, sims will receive the Attractive moodlet, or the I Am Beautiful moodlet if the sim has the Snob trait.

The “Apply Acne Toner” interaction available to sims who have acne has been moved to the “Skincare…” pie menu as well.

Reduces the Acne Breakout moodlet by 4 hours

The “Wash Face” has not been moved, but does have some additional functionality.

Smooth Skin: Given when sims use a Mud Mask, lasts 8 hours, +10 mood

Star Studded: Given when sims use Acne Stickers, lasts 4 hours, +10 mood

Subtle Glow: Given when sims use Under Eye Patches, lasts 4 hours, +10 mood

oh yeah... redrew my older pines designs + also gideon is here because I like him and will inflict him on everyone. probably in their early 20s here, I didnt think too hard about the specifics. also some headcanons

dipper started testosterone finally so he's got the classic 'shitty little puberty stache' and also hes breaking out w acne bit. wears a lot of denim on denim. him and wendy swap hats every summer its their tradition. he has a bomber jacket with lots of alien and cryptid patches. sometimes he has kind of a mullet going on

mabel regularly chops all her hair off in the mirror with some scissors whenever the impulse hits so at any given point of her life it can be either waist-length or a buzzcut. she got into making kandi and has a bunch of themed cuffs. rhinestones. sparkles. thats a tamagotchi necklace

gideon has embraced his inner cowboy and got some riding chaps ostensibly because he has a motorcycle now but also because he thinks he looks cool. his bolo tie is a replica of his old cursed variant because fiddling with it is a comfort to him. hes got a custom leather jacket with his star embroidered on the back

hes also so tall because. well honestly my headcanon is he has an insane growth spurt in his teens. have you SEEN bud gleeful? he's huge. hes got Big Dude Genes. also honestly i just think its funny if he goes from being knee-high to 6 feet tall in the space of like, 6 months.

it does take him a while to wrap his head around the fact that you might not be confident. not only because he's so confident, but also because look at you and you're so beautiful and how can you find anything not to like in that face

after getting past the denial stage of grief, his top priority becomes making sure you know how much he thinks you're beautiful and that your acne doesn't bother him in the least

"sweetheart, it's your face. obviously I love everything to do with it, don't be ridiculous"

makes a point to kiss your face and tell you how pretty you are even more than usual (which is a lot)

is supportive of you doing whatever you need to to feel confident (whether that's extra skincare, concealer, whatever) but also makes sure you know that he could care less if you do those things, he truly thinks you're perfect as you are

does think those little star pimple patches are fucking adorable, though

"I don't need you to cover them up, angel, you look incredible right now, but if you are going to can we get the blue ones this time?" (you've had to explain to him multiple times that they do different things and aren't just for fashion)

is a menace when it comes to skincare, you cannot get him to stop touching your face and kissing it when you're trying to keep it clean

eventually you probably succumb, and let him love on you as much as he likes (who could begrudge him that)

honestly? i think sevika finds your zits kinda cute.

they're like freckles... but they just change places. she treats them just like freckles or birthmarks-- like they're little 'x's marking the spot for her smooches.

sometimes, this results in her getting a mouthful of the medicated spot treatment you put on your pimples.

"bleh, babe, what the fuck?!" sevika groans as she pulls away from the sweet forehead peck she just placed on one of your newest zits. you laugh, helping her wipe the white cream off her lips.

if you're like me, and you're someone who picks at their acne-- sevika will always be there to smack your fingers away from your face. "quit it, you'll make yourself bleed." she pouts. she'll hold your hands in hers until she's sure you're distracted from the urge.

she'd find it adorable if you wear pimple patches or bandaids over your zits. she'd be buying you the cutest patches too-- the star ones or heart ones or little cartoons printed on the bandaids.

just for fun! mostly projections lol. I only did The Unholy Trinity™ (law, strade and ren) but I'm open for requests haha!!

starting off with lawrence! (more under the cut)

this was the first one I made, I really had fun with this! mostly projections lmaoao!!

redesign:

I added acne, because I do think due to his, well, not very good diet(?) it would develop acne. I added greyer skin because I think because of the way it's rotting it would make sense she would look more zombie like. also made his hair longer and more visible and messier as well! also other small changes (added scars, changed its hoodie, err and more stuff)

ren:

more projecting!!! I really like the whole weeb ren idea, so I went to the fullest with it. he's so cute...... ahhhh

redesign:

I really had fun editing this! I like to think they'd be more into alternative japanese fashion, especially jirai, visual kei and decora! I want to make a full jirai ren edit one day... one day.......

I added head accessories, gyaru-ish-styled eye makeup, lace, pins, those little star patches, a belt and a star pant chain!! I wanted to follow along with his dark, gray-black colour palette, so they look more visual kei rather than decora!

strade:

metalhead strade!!! I had a dream about this, so I kind of went wild with this one! I kinda see him as a jerk type, the type that would make offensive jokes at the dinner table and be the only one laughing, sort of jerk. I love assholes!!!

redesign:

I loved making this ... added a whole bunch of stuff.

eyeliner + eyeshadow, piercings, tattoo, heterochromia, tooth gap, and also, hand scars!!!!

from his victim's struggling, and his general carelessness, I'd think he'd have scars on his hands, especially on the left one! (he's a leftie!!!!! canonically!)

I also made edits of certain leaks with this headcanons, might make a seperate post for them!
