The Digital Natives Are Here: What Does This Mean for Your Business?
Today’s generation, the mass of infographic and demographic owning population is the youth. Not that the old ones aren’t as engaging, but truthfully, millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha are dominating the digital space and online consumer engagement, which is understandable considering the time period they were raised in was in fusion to the technological developments, e-commerce trends 2025, and digital marketing strategies and a sense of excitement regarding the future. These were the millennials; they were raised as the advents made their way, but they were also in touch and equipped with the analog technology and digital marketing evolution.
The generation post them, Gen Z, grew up in a time where technological advancements shaped consumer behavior; hence, they were surrounded by these technological improvements and digital marketing trends, and as they grew older, they came to be dependent on these tools and now form some of the biggest consumer bases, redefining social media marketing trends, and have challenged the traditional mode of marketing and influencer marketing impact, causing a revolution, the ripples of which shall forever exist. Like we mentioned, these are some of the biggest consumer chains alongside millennials and Gen Alpha. Let’s take a look at what makes them tick and how we can clock beside and improve the economic structure and social climate through SEO advertising and youth-driven digital economy strategies, and gain traction for your business at the same time.
Understanding Digital Natives: Who Are They?
Getting into it, let’s first define these generations. Millennials are the ones that were born around 1981–1996. The ones born during 1997–2012 constitute Gen Z, and the ones post-2012 are Gen Alpha.
Since these are ones that are at the forefront of online consumer engagement and e-commerce trends 2025, we can call them digital natives. Gen Z and Gen Alpha definitely fall under this category, and since they’re still in their youthful exuberance, they are impressionable and more liberal, more likely to support marginalized voices and influencer marketing impact. They advocate for equal rights and brand authenticity and have strong opinions and takes on the social climate, political climate, and economic climate.
They are self-driven, inclusive, and collaborative, and value authenticity, social responsibility, and personalized marketing for Gen Z. They are diverse and, at the same time, prefer personalization and customized brand interactions.
What Does This Mean for Your Business Venture?
Well, if you strike a chord with this audience, you can expect a loyal and long-lasting consumer base, and the fact that they are risk-takers, ready to support new products and digital marketing strategies, causes, and trends — sometimes even creating new trends that influence e-commerce trends in 2025 — could result in better engagement that could result in greater profits and improved social media marketing trends.
As long as your brand narrative, SEO-driven marketing, and service voice align with their values, you are well on your way. Gen Z values authenticity the most; they are diverse and inclusive and wouldn’t shy away from promoting and leaving positive remarks and reviews on influencer-driven platforms, provided they are happy with your services. They are collaborative, and since most of them are influencers in their own lane, you could also harbor new customers and expand your consumer base through influencer marketing impact.
And yes, personalization. Personalized marketing for Gen Z is the key to brand loyalty, online consumer engagement, and driving more conversions.
Since they also spend most of their time online — making friends, shopping, finding partners, dating, and working — you can really leverage digital marketing strategies, SEO advertising, and social media marketing trends to gain traction for your business.
Why Is This Important?
Dominant Demographic: They are the major consumer base, driving digital marketing trends.
Technologically Advanced: They are highly comfortable with the latest technological developments, e-commerce platforms, and online payments.
Value-Driven Consumers: They are drawn to brand authenticity, ethical marketing, and social responsibility.
Personalization Matters: Customized digital marketing strategies and influencer collaborations will draw them to you in bounds.
So, SEO advertising, digital marketing strategies, and e-commerce trends 2025 must be your focus, for the world is digital and the audience consists of digital natives.

How to Create a Data-Driven Digital Marketing Strategy
Tumblr media
In today’s world it is crucial for companies to increase their performance when targeting marketing their customers and that involves developing an efficient, data-oriented digital marketing plan. Here are the benefits that data brings to marketers – Being able to know consumers, tailor the message, fine-tune the ad content, make essential decisions on the efficacy, and even enable customers to improve their experiences with the brands that they are fond of. This article is a detailed manual on how to build an effective digital marketing strategy using data.
1. Define Your Goals
It is recommended that before getting to data gathering, goals are set out very clearly and ideally in measurable terms. Using the SMART framework can help:
Specific: First, you want to outline and specifically state your goal (for instance, to attract more visitors to a site).
Measurable: Make sure you can measure the achievement level by some other forms, for example by 30%.
Achievable: Targets should be set according to the available resource capacity or otherwise the targets may be set and achieve zero rates that will only indicate the failure of the company to meet them.
Relevant: This helps match its goals with other broader business goals.
Time-bound: Assign specific dates to make these goals.
2. Collect Relevant Data
The process of actual gathering of information is a key to a data-driven approach. Gather information from various sources:
Website Analytics: Some of the ways are the use of tools like Google Analytics to check the activity carried on the site.
Customer Feedback: Primary data can be gathered using questionnaires, customer feedback and customer feedback from the social media platforms.
Market Research: Since opportunities result from a comparison of the industry trends and competitors’ performance, they should be analyzed and evaluated carefully.
3. Analyze the Data
Then there is analysis: the process that follows data collection. Look for patterns and insights that can inform your strategy:
Segmentation: Chunk out your audience down to narrower demographic or behavior or preferences.
Performance Metrics: Monitor engagement rates, click-through rates, conversion rates and other comparable values that speak of your campaigns’ effectiveness.
4. Develop Your Strategy
With insights in hand, it’s time to formulate a comprehensive marketing strategy:
Target Audience Profiles: When you have your information analyzed, establish specific buyer personas to help guide everything you say and create.
Content Strategy: Content should be created according to your target audience’s preferences and potential requirements. Use Web 2.0 data trends to identify topics and the formats that should be adopted.
5. Implement Campaigns
Run your ad campaigns with data-driven execution:
Personalization: To the point where they decide what to recommend and show to customers based on their data inside of an email.
A/B Testing: Evaluate two versions of a specific ad or landing page as to which performs better using real time data.
6. Monitor Performance
After activating campaigns, monitor its performance in real-time:
Analytical Tools: google analytics and social media insight should be utilized for assessment of the durability of the particular campaign.
Adjust Strategies: Be ready to switch strategies depending on the results of the gathered information concerning user activity and conversion scenarios.
7. Optimize Continuously
Data driven marketing is continuous in nature. Regularly revisit your strategies:
Feedback Loops: It is appropriate to put mechanisms in place to get feedback from clients to make improvements in the future.
Iterative Improvements: Always leverage knowledge derived from past campaigns to improve on subsequent campaigns so that the strategy you adopt is dynamic enough to meet the progressive changes in the market.
Conclusion
Many business owners know the basic model of data-driven digital marketing which consists in setting goals, gathering and analyzing data, designing relevant strategies, launching campaigns, evaluating their effectiveness and adjusting them further. The adoption of data in the business process means better decision making, which in return will increase the rate of conversion, and subsequently boost the business in the complex digital environment. Try this approach in 2024 so that you can be ahead of your competitors while satisfying the new needs of your customers.

Unpopular opinion: I hate hate HATE loli figures. idc if people collect them because they’re ‘cute’ it’s still weird asf imo, there are so many other and much cuter figures. It disgusts me how popular and normalized they are among the anime community.
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
oh god anon allow me to specifically rant about one of my worst pet peeves. i used to see this mostly on tiktok when i still had the app, but i've seen it happen on most social media.
it really grinds my gears when people own a suggestive/nsfw figure of a minor, and then accuse anyone who dares to say something about it of sexualising children. if you want to own figures of a child/teenager in lingerie, i'm really not a fan of that but at least own up to it. don't act like everyone else is weird when you own a figure made with a certain intention and refuse to admit it.
maybe it helps to give an example; i saw someone on tiktok own a figure of ram from re:zero in lingerie, on hands and knees with an arched back. i think ram is 17 and later in the series an adult, arguebly not the worst figure ever but i can imagine people finding it a little weird. op started accusing everyone who made a comment about the figure by pulling an uno reverse and going "wow....how deeply SICK of YOU to see a child and make it sexual....i would NEVER see her like that.....". ok good for you but i can assure you that was the intention the figure was made with, the target audience is adult men and it's strange to deny this. they even claimed that it was fine because "everyone who collects ram is sapphic anyway" i can assure you that is not true 😭😭 this is very much a case of being in your little online gay bubble and thinking the whole world is the same as you. the target audience of all (female) suggestive/nsfw figures is simply straight men. i'm not saying it's the only people who can own them, but it is who the companies have in mind when producing the figures and it is the largest part of the market. it reminds me a bit of when kpop stans think only gay 17 year olds stan their favourite girl group and then you watch a perfomance where the crowd cheering isn't filtered out and it's all 40 year old men. i'm not stoked about it either, but it is simply the truth.
ofcourse i've seen people reaching, it does happen on tiktok that people get overly sensitive/woke/whatever and blindly hate anyone who collects normal nsfw figures or anyone else who didn't do anything wrong. not every tiktok comment section is filled with the brightest minds of our generation (shocker, i know). i do however think it's a common thing, even with real life children, where people try to question something inappropriate and somehow get the blame. i saw this happen when mothers thought it was strange that target sells swimsuits for babies/toddlers with hip cut outs, and then people accusing said moms of being the weird ones for "thinking a children's swim suit is sexual". guys am i losing my mind. am i going crazy. the concerned mothers are not the problem here for pointing out a weird thing. why in god's name were the swim suits designed like that. can we get an ounce of critical thinking in the chat.
AND ANOTHER THING! sorry guys this is like 5 years of built up irritation you have to let me go for a moment. anyway LOOK at this same shit i saw yesterday. i will not share the video but it was a video of very young middle school girls wearing heavy (gyaru?) makeup, fashion, wigs and nails which was honestly already a bit baffling because it was so much on such young kids. they were all wearing that fashion trend where you wear low rise pants/skirt and then pull up your thong strings to the high heavens so they're on your hips and sticking out off your pants/skirt. not a trend i usually mind but these were very young girls and the whole look, the visible underwear especially, was very inappropriate for their age so people in the comments were uncomfortable. i took one single peak at the comments and had to leave for my own sanity. you guys cannot be serious.
Tumblr media
and let me get this very clear: i have also seen people sexualise children doing normal things many times. both extremes are a problem. i think it's fucking weird to sexualise a child giving their parents a kiss or telling a child they shouldn't wear their bathing suit around their male family members, etc. however it is ALSO fucking weird for children to do/wear things that were specifically made for adults doing adult things (like wearing visible lacy thongs when you're in middle school) and no adult stepping in for the child's own safety. both things are weird and i hope everyone dies. anyway what were you saying anon? ah right, no i don't like loli figures either. not a fan.
send me your unpopular figure opinions

22 highlights for the next year for me and you:
1) Never trust a person who tells you other people's secrets even after them knowing they shouldn't. Yours aren't safe either.
2) Grooming changes the way you are perceived on a 360 degree.
3) Fake it till you make it but the making should be happening in the now simultaneously.
4) Multiple personalities always to the rescue but never forget the base. Change the sauce not the crust babe.
5) A colleague is always a colleague. Never a friend not on the job at least.
6) Surviving is your karmic duty. Are you thriving? That's where the real thing sets in.
7) Mental, spiritual, emotional health over anything and anyone.
8) Believe in God blindly. Have a strong belief system.
9) Play by ear on social media. Do it smartly. It's important to keep relevance and be on the trends in today's society especially if you are in a field like me.
10) People lie all the time. So trust with discretion.
11) No matter how low your personal life might be it shouldn't spill over in your professional life and vice versa.
12) Every man's love language is a physical touch. Don't be fooled.
13) A no is a no. Never a potential yes. Make sure you stick to your no's to keep them relevant in the market.
14) Make time for the things you love and enjoy. Don't let the creative in you suffocate.
15) Surround yourself with people that naturally bring out the good in you.
16) Being a little judgmental makes you stable. Too much open-mindedness leads to indecisiveness.
17) If he wanted he would.
18) Material, professional success takes you a long way.
19) Casual sex is bad both physically and emotionally.
20) Always wash your dirty laundry privately. Iykyk.
21) Save money but don't be stingy.
22) Do not let the burden of your past and others weigh over your present and future. Live as freely and wildly as possible. There's a reason we don't have a manual on how to live your life.
That's all for today's show on ash-says. Stay tuned for more illegal tricks and explosive opinions.
Here's a small snippet from my b'day

As promised, the threadfic from my Twitter/X account. I just copy/pasted all of it, so the flow might feel a little weird due to the word limit and ~dramatic pauses~ you know the drill.
Modern AU - wangxian, classical musician lwj x idol wwx
Secret fanboy!lwj finds out the family connection to idol wwx.
thread ⤵️
______________
Lan Zhan doesn’t use social media often. He has a professional account that he posts his appearance schedules to, where he follows other musicians of his calibre. His cohort will tag him in posts, some of them professional and some of them personal, but he rarely answers.
His professional bio has a link, so he amasses followers anyway. Such is the price of being a famous classical musician.
“It’s because you’re young and hot,” NHS reminds him during an event they’re both obligated to attend when he expresses his disinterest at his 15k followers.
Lan Zhan doesn’t know what being either of those things has to do with his field.
No one is looking at his face when he’s playing music!
👀 <- nhs’s expression in response to that.
It’s late and he’s stuck in an airport. Despite having a set bedtime, he’s not the type to sleep while in public, and the annoyance and disregulation of the flight delay have made it so he’s having trouble focusing on reading. In a rare instance, he ends up scrolling his socials.
Wei Wuxian is trending #1.
Lan Zhan doesn’t know who that is so he ignores it.
“Dizi” is trending #5. Lan Zhan’s eyebrows go up in vague surprise. He’s aware of how little the world cares about traditional music, even if he thinks they’re all wrong. So of course he clicks on it.
The video that opens is of a man playing something slow and upbeat on a dizi. His expression shows that he’s entranced with the music he’s playing and that he’s enjoying himself.
And oh
Oh
He’s beautiful.
It should NOT matter to Lan Zhan. He’s only ever cared about the music. But it matters. It feels like the dizi is being jabbed into his solar plexus with every second the man plays with his lovely face and long, graceful fingers
He finishes the video, surprised to see it’s almost 4 minutes long. The man holds his final note with impressive breath control. Then he laughs, gasping for breath. “It’s been ages since I’ve tried that” he says.
It hits LZ that this isn’t a normal video
Or, it’s far too professional of a set up for most amateur instrument players. Compared to his own v expensive marketing the lighting and sound is 🙌🏻 quality.
Lan Zhan glances down to read the discription to find the man’s name.
Wei Wuxian.
He isn’t clueless about the internet. He realizes that wwx must be someone. Someone big enough to trend #1 and make the word dizi trend at all. He should dismiss it as a lovely moment and move on.
He doesn’t dismiss it.
Instead, he watches it again.
He goes back to trending topics and clicks into the WWX tag.
He watches more videos. He reads comments.
He learns.
By the time his flight boards he's learned:
WWX is an idol turned actor
He's never played the dizi publicly before
His fans aren't shocked to learn he CAN because he typically pulls out random skills from no where
LWJ is SUPER attracted to him.
Before he gets on the plane he likes the video and it feels like a big deal. He stares at it for a moment and thinks about sharing it.
He thinks, and thinks, and ends up feeling like it's too big of a step that would tell all his followers exactly how he feels.
(worse, it would also tell his brother, who sometimes teases him for being young and so disconnected from modern music.)
That should be the end of it. He airport-exhaustion flirts with being attracted to an actor, he rationalizes himself out of it in the cold light of day.
It's not the end of it.
A timeline of lwj's fall into fanboying: 💎he lurks for a week, going video to video/post to post 💎he considers putting wwx's pic as his phone background; doesn't 💎he makes a burner account to like posts so he won't lose them 💎he likes a lot of posts
💎he gets furious when someone says something bad about wwx and thinks about answering; doesn't 💎does 💎does 💎he has RECEIPTS 💎he considers getting a burner phone so his brother can't look over his shoulder so he can save images; doesn't 💎hopelessly thinks wwx is GORGEOUS
has the following convo with LXC: LXC: i see you liked the video of wwx playing the dizi LWJ, ice spreading through his extremities: you have not spoken of him before - is he a friend? LXC: no, he's - nevermind
Maybe the first time he managed to get one over on his nosy brother
It feels thrilling to him, this secret life.
💎He plays the same song on his guqin that wwx played on the dizi and thinks about filming and posting it; doesn't. 💎He goes to see wwx's most recent movie in theatres; hates the experience but enjoys seeing him anyway
💎sees an announcement for a fanmeet out of an auditorium he plays and considers buying a ticket; doesn't 💎regrets; doesn't change his mind 💎on the day of the fanmeet he stays away. he has access - it's a surprising test of wills for him
until he gets called in for a favor
The favor* is to pre-record a short accompaniment on the guqin. It should have been done far in advance, it wasn't. It's very wwx to do something fantastic at the last second. lwj should feel more annoyed by the haste but is instead charmed.
*he is getting paid.
He's standing in the corridor w his guqin when wwx's entourage arrives, walking quickly past.
He looks.
His heart races. His palms sweat.
wwx meets his eyes and smiles, friendly & impersonal.
lwj stands there after he leaves for what feels like a long time but prob isn't.
He thinks about it for days. should he have said something? should he have asked for his ad hoc contract to include 5 minutes of time?
It all seems so impossible. force inserting himself into a moment of wwx's life makes him feel ill.
He wishes.
(he doesn't know)
[time skip]
LXC asks him if he'd be willing to play a few songs at his boyfriend's brother's son's bday party, stresses that he's not the entertainment. He agrees. It's very likely that LXC will force him along to socialize and at least if he's playing he won't need to talk.
The Jins are ostentatious; the party is not.
"friends & family," lxc explains. "JYL's brother is famous. you don't know him."
he WOULDN'T, his brother is right. He doesn't think about the surety of the phrasing until he walks through the door and comes face to face with WWX.
LWJ stills.
WWX pauses mid-sentence and looks at him. "I saw you at the fanmeet," he blurts out, surprised.
Everyone turns to stare at him. His ears flame hot. "I recorded the guqin piece."
He doesn't say how beautiful wwx is in person
"Oh thank you! I know it was so last minute. A lifesaver. A prince!" wwx effuses.
This seems to be a good enough explanation for everyone but LXC who is still staring at him. He feels pleased. His brother can tell.
He bows briefly at the praise.
Later, wwx approaches where he's sitting. "I thought you might like to hear the song."
"I heard it," he says. Wishes he hadn't. wwx was going to play it for him and he spoke without thinking. He knows better.
"Oh, did your management share it?"
"It's online."
It isn't online.
Or, it is online, but only in a certain kind of fan recording.
"You wanted to hear it that badly?"
Yes. It's the cumulation of both their talents. He's never felt that level of impatience in his life. "Yes," he says simply.
"OH!" wwx gasps delighted. "It's so good, isn't it?"
"Mn," he agrees.
"I'm going to release it. Do a concert with me!" WWX asks, shining. "Oh! An album!"
He can't. "I follow you on social media," he tells wwx, tone grave.
"You say that like it's bad. 30 million ppl follow me on social media." He pulls out his phone. Frowns.
"It doesn't say we're mutuals," he shows LWJ.
LWJ pulls out his phone and shows it to WWX.
"A FAN ACCOUNT" WWX crows in delight. "oh my god that's amazing. That's so good. You have to make music with me now that I know you like me. Yes, right? You're going to say yes?"
"Yes."
He doesn't realize until later, when he's home and still reeling from how overwhelming wwx's presence is, that he doesn't have a new follower notification on his main account.
How long has wwx been following him?
"Oh, since you played at [x] Gala two years ago. You were breathtaking. I was a guest." wwx tells him when he finally asks. "You didn't notice?"
"No."
"Haha I asked your brother when I met him and he said you wouldn't." wwx thinks this is the most hilarious thing.
"You notice me now, right gege?" wwx asks, fluttering his eyelashes.
LWJ kisses him.

Worried About Traction/Why Write?
Anonymous asked: Okay answer me this, so I've read how trad publishing is going to shit, but self-publishing I doubt I could gain any traction with. Then why fucking write, ya know? People say, "write for yourself," which sounds like a lot of goody bullshit. I want people to love my writing, I need some type of validation. So, how the hell do I get anyone to care about my stories?
Just a quick note that this ask came in off Anon, and I wasn't sure if it was meant to, so I put I'm posting it Anon to be on the safe side.
So, I don't want to get too much into the "is traditional publishing dying" debacle, because it's a conversation that's complex and nuanced and outside of my energy reserves at the moment. What I will say is that the traditional publishers--the Big Five in particular--still dominate the market, especially where print books are concerned. And although self-publishing can respond more quickly to trends and shifting tastes, traditional publishing continues to evolve.
Having said that, even if traditional publishing was stronger than ever before, that wouldn't guarantee you a book deal. Even in the best of times, the odds of being traditionally published are between 1 and 2%. Even if you get a book deal, that doesn't guarantee your book will be a best-seller. Hundreds of thousands of books are traditionally published every year, and far fewer than 1% of those books will become best sellers. Being traditionally published doesn't even guarantee your book will be sold in brick and mortar bookstores. I can point you toward traditionally published books that have been out almost a year and still have fewer than 10 reviews on Amazon. I can point you toward many more with fewer than 30.
And, while we're on the subject, I can show you self-published books with thousands of reviews (positive ones, btw...)
The point is, it doesn't really matter how you publish. What you write, how you write, and how you market is far, far more important. But the reality is, most of us aren't writing the kinds of books that are going to be best-sellers, BookTok sensations, Oprah's Book Club selections, or get optioned for film rights before the ink on the book deal is even dry. So, when you say you need validation, what does that look like for you? Does it mean seeing your name at the top of the NYT best seller list for five weeks straight? Seeing your book on eye-level shelves at an international airport? Hundreds of fans showing up to your book signing? A-hundred thousand followers on Twitter eagerly awaiting news of your next release? Or, does it look like someone... anyone... enjoying your book enough to leave a 5-star review... someone calling you their favorite writer, several fans re-posting your cover reveal because they're so excited for your upcoming book, or someone writing to say your book got them through a difficult time in their lives? Because, while I would never tell you not to dare to dream of achieving the former list of expectations, I will absolutely tell you the latter list of expectations is well within your grasp. So, if that's validation enough for you, write for those people. If it isn't, and it's not enough to write for yourself, then I think all you can do is try. Write the best stories you can write. Get them out there. Promote the hell out of them and see what happens. Maybe you will be one of those lucky few who see their book at the top of the NYT best seller list for five weeks in a row. Or, maybe you won't, but you get a two-page e-mail from a fan who says your story changed their life. And maybe, after all, that's enough. Here are some posts that can help you start building a following ahead of publishing, whatever route you end up choosing. Building a buzz on social media ahead of publishing and consistent promotion afterward can make a big difference. Even if you publish traditionally. Where are all the Audio Fiction Fandoms?
To be clear, this isn't me complaining, and I know, there are plenty of fandoms for audio fiction podcasts and the like.
But I have always found it weird how few shows get the big, self-sustaining kinds of fandoms, the ones where there's always at least a little trickle of fanfic and fanart. So weird, in fact, that I've been thinking about it on and off for the last 5-6 years, and I have a few theories I'd like to share with y'all as to why, and to see if I can't get some feedback from the audio fiction fans on Tumblr.
Theory 1: Audience Size
The first theory is mostly about demographics - fundamentally, a fandom has to be large enough to sustain itself, and only a certain number of audience members are going to become the kind of fans who make fan works, so ultimately, an audio fiction show needs to get popular enough before fan works start appearing.
There's plenty of support for this theory, of course - Welcome to Night Vale, Wolf 359, The Adventure Zone and The Magnus Archives are titans in the fiction podcast space, and indeed they have big fandoms. But, with that said, there's plenty of other podcasts that are just as big that don't have fandoms, so this can't explain it all.
Theory 2: Audience Distance
This one is similar to the first, but subtly different. A few creators in the space I've talked to have noted that they'd never make fan works of their friend's shows - that feels weird, like deliberately treading on their friend's work. They don't have this feeling when playing in big fandoms, or fandoms where they don't know the creator. This implies to me that fans need a certain level of distance from creators in order to feel comfortable playing with that fictional space. While this is less the case now with the fall of Twitter, a lot of shows, for better or worse, used social media as the primary pillar of their marketing, as well as using Patreons with special access as part of their monetization strategies.
In short, it's never been easier to get close to the creators of your favourite shows, and for smaller shows, the most exuberant fans - the kinds who might make fan works - are also the kinds of fans who will take those opportunities to get closer to the creators. In short, there just might not enough social distance for fans to be comfortable creating works, not at least until the audience grows sufficiently that a creator simply cannot be that close with their entire audience.
This theory I'm not so sure about these days - this one is probably a lot more dependent on the generation of fandom you belong to. Older generations of fandom are more likely to have this queasiness around creator closeness, because they were creating in a time where fandom was a shadow realm, desperately hidden from The Powers That Be, and "No Copyright Infringement Intended" was carved into fan works as an eldritch attempt at legal protection.
Theory 3: Audience Age
To be clear - there are fans of all ages out there. But it is clear to me that fandom trends young, and part of that is just the time needed to participate in fan culture - creating and consuming takes a lot of time, time that tends gets scarcer and scarcer as you get older (there are obvious exceptions of course - stay-at-home mothers have consistently been a major force in fandoms!). It's possible that audio fiction fans just tend to trend older, and thus don't have the time available to create and consume fan works.
Honestly, I'm not sure how relevant this one is - Audio fiction is becoming more popular with younger audiences and slowly shedding the "old fuddy-duddyness" that surrounded it when I was first getting into the space. And, ya know, there are audio fiction fandoms out there, so obviously either the youth aspect of fandom isn't a thing, or it is, but audio fiction audiences are still trending young anyway.
Theory 4: We're getting what we need!
A lot of academic discourse often focuses on the idea that fandoms create for a reason - and that reason is often to focus on parts of a fiction that the original text, for whatever reason, doesn't. The most obvious form of this is the many, many, many examples of ships and erotic fanfiction. You, as a fan, watch a show, see something between two characters, and get frustrated that the show isn't giving you more of that, won't make what is clearly obvious to you, explicit. So, you consume and/or create fan works that help relieve that tension instead.
Or, in shows where the focus is primarily on plot advancement or action, you feel a desire to get to know the characters better - you see the stirrings of these characters, you want to know them better, but the show just isn't the type of show to give you that slow, character-heavy scene/episode that you know would give you exactly what you need, so, again, you go consume and/or create fan works to fix that.
It's very possible that a lot of audio fiction is already built to give these sorts of fan audiences what they want. There's already romantic relationships, characters are openly queer, the nature of the audio medium means that character-heavy scenes are something that the medium directs creators towards, so there's already a lot of character engagement. So, for many fandoms, there just isn't much need to create fan works - there's no tension between what the show is and what it could be.
Theory 5: We can make our own at home!
One interesting theory is that one reason that people make fandom is because, fundamentally, the creators understand that they're not going to be making a film, or a TV show, or a book. They have creative urges, and they're not in a situation in life where they're likely to overcome the enormous barriers to entry in mainstream media, so, in combination with the stuff in theory 4, they play in other people's worlds instead. They know that there's already an audience who will consume their work (they're part of that fan community, after all!), so they can get that validation of creation without needing to create their own TV show or film or book, etc.
Podcasts, however, are different. Now, it's not true to say that podcasts have low barriers to entry - to create a podcast, there's a lot of skills you either need to learn yourself, or find collaborators with those skills. But, those barriers to entry are much lower than visual media. At the very least, audio production is significantly cheaper and less complicated for an equivalent runtime.
Better, podcasts have absurdly low barriers to publication - There are no gatekeepers to satisfy, no distributors you have to convince. Once your thing is made, pretty much no one can stop you from distributing that work. You don't even really need to pay for a podcast host - there's a few free podcast hosts now. So, once you've done the work, pretty much nothing stops you from publishing said work.
So... If you're a creative fan, who loved a show but thinks you can do better? Well, you can! You don't need to play in other people's spaces, you can be inspired by the podcasts you listen to to create your own original work, in the same medium and genre.
What do y'all think? Which of these feel right, which of these feel obviously wrong? Are you part of a audio fiction fandom? What does your fandom feel like to you on the inside? As a audio fiction creator, it's kinda hard for me to get into the inside of fandom culture, so insider perspectives would be super neat for me, so please reblog this to anyone you feel might have an interesting perspective on the whole thing!

Try Not To Laugh Challenge (Pedri)
Summary: You and Pedri are co-workers who are paired up to do a video for the Barcelona Instagram account - the only thing is you’re dating and both bad at hiding the feelings.
Warning(s): none
A/N: Please send in any requests if you have any.
Word Count: [2035]
Tumblr media
You stared at the email in disbelief. Just your luck.
You were currently being asked by your manager to meet him on the training grounds to film a video for Barcelona’s Instagram page with Pedri.
Big no.
Originally, Gavi was supposed to film the video with him but had to cancel last minute as the shoot he was doing with Nike was taking longer than anticipated.
Because of the short notice, the players had already been sent home, with only Pedri remaining after practice.
This led to you getting an email from your manager to step up and take the role as you were the team’s social media intern.
You didn’t want to turn him down, one because he was your boss and technically you weren’t even sure if you could without getting fired, but two also because you hadn’t seen Pedri all week and a small part of your brain, that was filled with all the mushy gushy feelings missed him.
The two of you had met when you started your internship with Barcelona the summer prior, he had just been ending his second year as a professional, and you had just ended your second year of college, thus landing the internship as a result.
Initially, things had been pretty awkward between the two of you. You rarely ever saw the players, often being thrown headfirst into the research aspect of social media marketing, such as trying to predict trends and analyzing raw data. It wasn’t until 5 weeks later that you had your first encounter with the boy.
You had walked into the break room, which to be fair was more of a snack room than anything else, the tables filled with different assortments of food.
Once there you noticed that there was only one other person present. A brown-haired boy on the other end of the table, looking intently at what appeared to be muffins.
You chose to ignore him at first, deciding to see the spread of food the Barcelona staff had brought in for everyone today. Your eyes locked on the pizza, and your body filled with excitement.
You were a big fan of pizza.
There was only one slice left and it was calling your name.
You grabbed a plate and made your way over, reaching out, just as another hand stole the pizza.
You looked up, ready to fight for what was rightfully yours, making eye contact with the boy from earlier.
He spoke first “Oh my bad. Did you want that?”
You cleared your throat, ready to stake your claim, but instead only came up with “Oh no, no worries.”
God damn it Y/N. You really need to grow a backbone you thought.
The boy looked at you, “Are you sure, you can have it if you want.”
He held up the limp pizza and you both watched as the cheese slowly started to separate from the sauce.
“I’m good. Thanks.”
The boy nodded before moving along the line.
You looked back over at the food, you had skipped breakfast earlier this morning as your boss asked you to come in earlier than expected so you didn’t have time to grab anything.
As you were contemplating whether to eat a muffin or an apple your stomach began to growl.
You felt your cheeks grow hot as you desperately prayed the boy standing just a few feet away didn’t hear it.
“Okay, clearly you’re hungry. Just take the slice, really I don’t even want it, it’s bad for my diet.”
You wanted to die. You finally met someone who looked around your age and the first thing you did was embarrass yourself in front of them.
You turned around to face the boy, he was once again holding the pizza in his hand, but this time he was stretching it out to you as a peace offering.
You looked at him as he gave you a warm smile.
“Split it?” You asked.
The boy grinned, “For sure.”
After that, whenever you and Pedri saw each other in the hallways you always made sure to stop and say hello. Eventually, those hellos became walking with each other back to your respective cars whenever you ended at the same time. Those walks then became lunch breaks, and before you knew it you were spending so much time with Pedri, you were surprised no one else had picked up on it.
“What do you tell your teammates when they ask where you go?” you questioned, sitting beside him in the empty conference room as you shoveled yogurt into your mouth on a random Friday afternoon.
“I say that I’m talking to my mom.” he admits.
You laugh out loud, reaching over to hit his shoulder, “No way haha. They believe that?”
Pedri rubbed the spot where you hit him, pretending it hurt, “Well they’ve never questioned it.”
“Aww but doesn’t Gavi miss you?” You asked, making a kissy face with your lips, purposely trying to annoy him.
He groaned at your antics, pushing your legs that were rested on his lap away, “Oh fuck off. You know there isn’t anything going on.”
You giggled. Recently someone had started a rumor on the internet that Pedri and Gavi were madly in love and once you had caught wind of it you had brought it up every chance you could, never getting enough of Pedri’s angry face, which in all honesty did not look even the slightest bit intimidating.
“Can’t say the same for us.” Pedri spoke, effectively cutting off your giggles.
You straightened in your seat, “What?”
“Oh c’mon you clearly have a thing for me.” He spoke again.
This time you fully sat up. While it may have been true that you were harboring the slightest, and i mean the slightest of slight, feelings for Pedri, there was no way anyone was ever getting that out of you unless you were literally chained to a wall fighting for you life.
Maybe not even then.
“Not even a chance.” You huffed looking at him as he grinned back at you.
He leaned over, hands finding their way to your shoulders as he squeezed, “Awh c’mon Y/N you’re telling me you don’t even have the tiniest of feelings for me.”
You raised your eyebrows at him, “Why so curious? You got a crush on me or something?”
Now it was his turn to shrink away.
“What? No, of course not.”
“Then why are we talking about this?”
“Whatever.”
You peaked at him through the corner of your eye, you couldn’t tell if you were imagining it or not but you swore you saw the smallest tint of pink on his cheeks.
You were right, he definitely had a crush on you. That all led you to your current position now, where you and Pedri had been dating in secret for 6 months, not wanting to risk telling anyone and you losing your job, since it was against company policy for employees to date when there was a power difference, which in this case there was since Pedri was a player and you were an intern.
Debating it over in your head, you decided to go and just get it over with. You just hoped you and Pedri would be able to keep it undercover.
You both failed. Miserably. Throughout the shoot you kept feeling Pedri’s eyes on you when they shouldn’t have been. For example, when your manager was explaining the rules of the game behind the camera, you could feel Pedri’s gaze directed towards you, and when you turned to look at him, he gave you a smile that made your insides melt.
It had been just over a week since the two of you had last seen each other, with the team going off to compete in a different city for La Liga, and you staying back to keep up with work at home base. You weren’t even able to Facetime as there was never a time where both of you where free or away from everyone else.
You had missed him a lot, and it seemed he had missed you just as much.
“Ok so do you two understand the rules?” Your manager asked.
You gave him a thumbs up before turning to Pedri.
You both walked over to the water bottles, reaching down to collect them. With your backs turned to the camera, Pedri leaned over and whispered,
“I missed you this week. Wish you were with me.”
You sighed, glancing over at him, “Me too.”
You both parted before you could say anything else, standing opposite to each other after being handed flour tortillas.
“Ok so just try to hit each other with the tortilla’s and we’ll be good.”
You had a mouth full of water as you tried to communicate with Pedri about who should go first. The boy stared at you with a confused look.
You started doing the motions of rock, paper, scissors, and finally he understood.
You won, and started moving closer to Pedri with the tortilla raised as he kept moving backwards.
You had to choke back a laugh as he almost tripped over a lighting wire, turning your body away from him and closing your eyes so you wouldn’t have to see the look on his face.
You urged him back towards you, and he took hesitant steps forward.
You pretended to be surprised, and looked at something over his shoulder pointing for him to look.
Stupid boy. Literally the most classic trick in the book.
As he was mid turn you slapped him with the tortilla on his cheek, the noise of water sprurting out of his mouth and silence that followed after sending you into hysterics.
The water spilled out of your mouth as you laughed, “Oh my god, I can’t believe you fell for that!”
Pedri glared at you before giving you a light push as you leaned over trying to catch your breath.
“This is what I get for trusting you.”
You stood back up, tapping his cheek empathetically, “You’ll survive.”
He pulled your hand away from his face, but let his hand rest in yours for a second too long before he dropped it.
“I’ll get you back for that.” He warned once again taking his position across from you.
You smiled sweetly at him, “I’d like to see you try.”
The game went on like that for another 2 rounds before your manager called it quits saying that there was enough footage to post.
You were drenched from head to toe when he had finally called cut, and you had a disgusted look on your face. During the last round, Pedri had purposely lost and spit water all of your face.
You had shrieked jumping away from him, but he grabbed your wrists trapping you from getting too far as he drenched you.
“Pedri Ew! So gross!” You groaned once he finished giving you a mini shower.
He gave you a cheeky smile, “Told you I would get you back.”
You rolled your eyes turning to face the camera, “Can we be done yet?”
Your manager laughed behind the camera, “All good.”
You smiled once more at the camera before saying bye and letting Pedri finish off the video.
Once everything had wrapped and you had dried yourself, Pedri came over to you.
“That was fun!”
You groaned, walking alongside him as you made your way to your cars, “For you maybe.”
“Oh c’mon Y/N, don’t be a sore loser.” He retorted, bumping your shoulder with his.
“I didn’t even lose!” You exclaimed.
Pedri’s eyes twinkled at he looked at you, “That’s not the way I remember it at all.”
“Then you must have amnesia.”
He laughed at your comment, “You know what would probably cure it?”
“Hmm?”
“Some kisses.”
You once again rolled your eyes at Pedri’s cheesy words, but felt your self smile regardless.
“Fine, but you get nothing if I beat you to your car.” You shouted already taking off in a sprint.
You heard Pedri yell after you before he started chasing you, “Not fair!”
You laughed to yourself, feeling so grateful that you had found someone who was just like you.

Notes on Pluto shift into Aquarius:
-Pluto has been in Capricorn for the past 20 years. On March 24th, 2023 it will finally move in Aquarius. (First for 3 months- then it will retrograde back into Capricorn. It will move into Aquarius in mid November of 2024 and stay in Aquarius.) This shift will do many things for our government and changes in currency. It will also affect our weather patterns drastically, adding an emphasis on unpredictability factors regarding weather events known to specific areas.
Weather change predictions:
Over the next 5 years (especially), the once heavily predicable weather patterns will completely change course. I see storms reaching new levels of disaster, the first ever E6 tornado on record, earthquake events increase with more rain and flooding events being recorded. This prediction is localized to the West coast of America. Lightning storms and damaging lightning events will increase everywhere, including outside of America. And as temperatures continue to rise, so will the seas. This flooding out the coastline city’s of most continents on the planet.
Keeping in mind- with the changes in patterns, certain insects or animals may move locations over this time in order to survive in habitable locations. Expect a rise in new insects and animals (mainly birds) in your location.
Why only 5 years for these predictions?
⁃ Well to put it simply, the next 5 years will be the transition period for Pluto. This sets us up to understand fully what to expect by the midpoint ( which is about 10 years).
⁃ During transitional periods the themes of the transit push themselves into the surface. Refuse to be silenced or ignored. This energy with Pluto adds to the chaotic amount of unstopped change. And with Pluto in the sign Aquarius, is a statement saying very loud expect the unexpected. Aquarius is known as the water barrier- that’s why it will affect things like rainfall, and tide changes. It being an air sign, and having energy that likes pushing limits and making a new category where it will fit, this is how I was able to predict the first E6 on record.
Non weather changes prediction timeline:
⁃ all bills being paid online, offering bigger deal incentives for paperless route. Marketing increases on paperless billing and apps to help pay bills for those more resistant to turning.
⁃ The rise of humans choosing to get chipped and giving up credit cards, drivers license, health insurance card, house keys etc. Instead all information is within the chip. This trend will start on social media and ‘blow up’ via influencers, controversy, and sociological divisions. Some get the chip, some refuse. By the end of the transit many accommodations will be made for influx of chipped citizens. New technology developed to further the expansion once the populations hit 50% chipped.
⁃ Influx in reprogramming citizens to get chipped by 16-20 years of transit. Social media influencers and celebrities being paid off to Alienate those who refuse to get chipped. This sure enough changes the popular opinion of being chipped. Lessening the amount of power the voices who fight this change have in media. They become a part of “cancel culture”, and those who speak down on these divisions frame them as old, outdated, and “stuck in the past”. They also greatly inflate the amount of power “the younger generations have now”.
⁃ by it’s completion, and into the transition period of Pluto in Pisces, paper money will be considered an antique, making its values increase and causing people to get chipped for financial benefits. At the same time, the U.S government has been slowly removing cash within the economy, thus pushing the chip.
⁃ The great influx of new technologies, built from space matter, and secrets deciphered in space.
⁃ Shift from chip to retina scan.
⁃ Air quality decline throughout transit. This may improve during Pluto in Pisces.
A look ahead: (2043-2067)
⁃ Pluto in Pisces: it is important to note that during this time the main shift will be the attitude towards money. The once heavily known “hustle” society that was found in America will be slowly deteriorating throughout this transit. Instead people will be focused more on quality of life, and living self sufficiently.
⁃ A rise in spiritual abilities being confirmed and normalized within modern media.
⁃ A possibility of sabotage of peace, with the release of new drugs. A rise in drug addiction.
⁃ A rise in practical, and common introspection. Those within their prime during this pluto transit will seem more insightful, intuitive, and advanced than others that came before.
⁃ A rise in charity work and funding for mental health and drug addiction.
⁃ Major psychological developments found to help those struggling with mental health disorders and disease. The discovery of the neurological and genetic makeup needed for schizophrenia and bipolar to thrive.
⁃ This new information will help the next generations prevent passing down the specific genetic factors to prevent schizophrenia from presenting.
⁃ A rise in great artwork and music, some of the greatest artists from this time will also struggle with drug addiction, or mental health.
⁃ The rise of a new perspective of lifespan, focused on creation and appreciation.
⁃ More technology created to go further into space, and the first colonization of humans in space. A lot of secret projects sending families to new planets to study and discover if it’s habitable for humans.
⁃ Sea levels rise drastically. Venice will be underwater by the midpoint of this transit.

How to Become a Billionaire in 10 Easy Steps (According to Ali)
Hey there, folks! Today, we're going to be talking about something that's near and dear to Ali's heart - making bank. That's right, Ali knows a thing or two about becoming a billionaire, and he's generously decided to share his secrets with all of us. So sit back, grab a notebook, and get ready to take some notes.
Step 1: Get a Loan
The first step to becoming a billionaire is to get a loan. Sure, it might seem counterintuitive, but trust Ali on this one. Borrow as much money as you can and invest it in something risky. If it pays off, you're already on your way to the top.
Step 2: Take Risks
Speaking of risks, that's another key ingredient in the billionaire recipe. You can't be afraid to take chances if you want to make it big. Whether it's investing in a new company or quitting your job to start your own business, you need to be willing to put it all on the line.
Step 3: Be a Hustler
If there's one thing Ali knows, it's how to hustle. You can't sit around waiting for opportunities to come to you - you need to go out and make them happen. Whether it's networking, pitching your ideas to investors, or cold-calling potential clients, you need to be willing to put in the work.
Step 4: Surround Yourself with Successful People
As the saying goes, you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. If you want to be a billionaire, you need to surround yourself with other successful people who can mentor you and help you grow.
Step 5: Learn from Your Failures
Failure is an inevitable part of the journey to becoming a billionaire. But the key is to learn from those failures and use them as opportunities to grow and improve.
Step 6: Stay Hungry
Once you achieve success, it can be tempting to rest on your laurels. But if you want to stay at the top, you need to stay hungry and keep pushing yourself to achieve more.
Step 7: Embrace Technology
In today's digital age, technology is key to success. Whether it's using social media to market your business or using cutting-edge software to streamline your operations, you need to stay up-to-date with the latest tech trends.
Step 8: Give Back
As Ali always says, "it's not about the money, it's about the impact." Giving back to your community and supporting causes that you care about is not only the right thing to do, but it can also help boost your brand and reputation.
Step 9: Stay Focused
With so many distractions and competing priorities in today's world, it can be easy to lose sight of your goals. But if you want to become a billionaire, you need to stay laser-focused on what you want to achieve.
Step 10: Never Give Up
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, you should never give up on your dreams. Becoming a billionaire is a lofty goal, but with hard work, determination, and a little bit of luck, it's definitely achievable.
So there you have it, folks - Ali's 10-step guide to becoming a billionaire. Are you ready to take on the challenge? Let us know in the comments below!

I think Jill is trying to do what people on TikTok do which is but stuff from temu and sell it on their TikTok live for way more than what they paid for.
Yea I think she's trying to do what a lot of people on social media do with thrifted clothes specifically, which is charge a premium on used clothing because she's "curated" the selection. The only problem is, to be successful at the online boutique thrifting biz you really have to have a finger on the pulse of whatever your target demographic thinks is stylish, and Jill doesn't.
The unfortunate truth for the Rodrigues ladies is that even though modest evangelical/trad/conservative fashion is usually a pace behind normal trends, Jill and her girls are like 5 paces behind, and for the most part they don't have a good enough eye for thrifting to be charging anything but like, 50 cents to a dollar above the actual value (if that).
The modest online boutique market is saturated to hell, you really have to stand out as far as having your own vibe or at the very least being exactly on trend for modest girlies (see Bates Sisters Boutique). If this is a preview of what the Rods have to offer, I'm not optimistic about their success.

How I would run Netflix if I was made CEO:
- No more full seasons drops . Three episode per weekend drops only with each show have a minimum of 12 episode season
- Massive social media marketing . No not ads but cast interviews and bits . I want to see our star passionately talk about characters , have puppet interviews , do games the whole she bang
- online and offline merch store . Yes I want official merch from the show . Posters , hoodies , calendars everything . And yes there should be a payment plan option . If you can afford a $40 Warrior Nun blanket you should be able to pay it off for $5 a month in the next eight months . All the proceeds from the merch store go directly towards the show with 5% going directly to the cast
- Fan contests . Beat fan art gets a $10k prize . The next ten places get $1k each whole the first 50 get $500
- Fanfiction contests during off season :
Best long submission get published as official books and the authors get 10% of the profits ( I am a CEO I am legally obliged to screw people over )
Best short submission get bundled up in a short story book which will get published . Authors get $500 each and their names
Social media rewards : if the show trends every week during which it airs next season you get a bonus episode
Hard copies : Official custom flash drives with the entire season , bloopers , deleted scenes and interviews and bts stuff with the cast . This will be only on physical media . No online stuff
