What did Nico H do to Barky??
This is specifically referring to an incident on Dec 17 2022 where Nico and Sasha were lining up for a face-off where Nico crosschecked his knee in the first period and subsequently Sasha would not start the second and would not come back to finish the game at all.
He would miss 3 games and end up playing again on Dec 29 2022, this was also after the time he came back from pneumonia so he hadn't already played in like 2 weeks so to see him out again wasn't exactly great news which only spurred on what some might call an excessive reaction, not to mention the whole "Dont hurt our Captain!"-ness of it all. Also Matthew was out with illness the game before against the Penguins and had just come back for the game against Jersey and it just felt like the team was always down a couple players due to illness or injury so to have your Captain out AGAIN made this game way chippier than it would've been for perhaps any other team.
Naturally the kitties did not take kindly to what they saw as a dirty play (despite later on Sasha reassuring media he didn't think Nico did it on purpose or that he's a dirty player) and checked him every chance they got, and then the next matchup after that.
And well, if you noticed since then kitties have specifically targetted Nico and have played him a lot harder than other Devs (because he's a great 2-way player you HAVE to play him harder but sometimes you can't help but think if theres something of a grudge there) which is why he ends up in a lot more scrums against us and I'm afraid Matthew seems to have the biggest grudge against him lol Ekky's definitely tied for like 2nd with the way he's always roughing up Devs doesnt specifically have to be Nico just /a/ Dev and it's been 2 years

"I hate small talk" couldn't be me. the social interaction with almost no depth or stakes to it? the one that is the bare minimum for looking like a human being? literally just come up with a way to respond to "how are you doing" and comment about the weather and you look like the smoothest friendliest most normal motherfucker in the room AND you've spoken to another human being (important for health). it's like cheat codes. and you HATE that??? skill issue!
#nerd alert#this sounds more aggressive than i mean it really but for real: say 2 sentences and ur usually golden. its weird but its easy.#my go to is if someone asks how im doing i just say 'im doing' and quip about hanging in there#or 'well im upright and breathing so thats a good start'#if someone asks how its going i say its going. cuz it always is no matter what. ill let my inflection carry the meaning for me#and then say something about the weather bc thats also always a thing thats happening and its always either shitty or nice.#its always going and theres always weather. and thats all anyone really needs out of small talk.#also pro tip: if the interaction continues youre at a thing ask what the person is doing at the thing#people love to tell u what theyre doing at things. i work at a college so 'what are you going to school for' is widely applicable#and then you smile and nod and 'oh hm huh yeah' as they tell you all about their major#and after that either youre friends or the interaction is over usually. #like servant like sultana huh? but this time it's *Mahidevran* who apparently mirrors Gülşah as we see her rule later. both got these#positions so unexpectedly - it should've probably been someone else but it's them and they're *thrilled* as they can finally achieve what#they've always wanted through these promotions: to command power over these so despised people that have disrespected them; that they've#been embarrassed by; that have even taken their most cherished away; for Gülşah it's something more general/all-encompassing opposed by#many people while for Mahidevran it's something more specific opposed by a single person but both *feel* that same drive to seek#accountability and justice to the point of enacting revenge anyway. they both ultimately get carried away by that pull. they both operate#by letting people know they're in charge through pulling rank as an absolute lecturing that precise tradition and order that puts them#above brazenly issuing orders to discredit and/or outright punish those who've offended them: it's one person Mahi/Gülşah have a particular#beef with during their rules (Daye/Hürrem respectively) but Gülşah didn't show any resentment of Daye until that point thus Daye is more#the cumulative power Gülşah is starting to lord above while Hü is that exact hurt for Mahi bringing it all back to the general vs. personal#there're other notable differences here like in their speeches about order/tradition because quite a part of Mahi actually believes in#the good these traditions can bring and their necessity as much as she resents their restrictive ruthlessness but Gülşah doesn't believe in#any tradition really she just mirrors what she's seen and known her entire life using it just for her goals no more no less;#for Gülşah all will be okay only when they do what she says because she's so understandably insecure about her authority over *everyone*#while for Mahi all will be fine only when the order is kept in general including there being no unrest among the concubines#(hence peace; another pre-Manisa to post-Manisa transitional point perhaps?); they both want 2 certain ağas to “understand” but while they#say they do without much/any question for Mahi no matter how much they dislike it they are almost forced to by Gülşah and they don't hide#not their dislike but *disregard*; even Gülşah's short rule is telling of her position: SS dismissing her is completely out of her control#she's removed before even doing all that much - another symbolic reminder of how little agency she has - while SS dismissed Mahi because#she truly screwed up a lot in spite of her being framed this is the one time she was given *all* the agency; they both encounter the person#they're replaced with but with Gülşah it happens immediately to highlight the out-of-reach suddenness while with Mahi it happens afterwards#as a result almost. #darktalks#well i fucking got what i wanted. huh. that sure was a modular armor system#overall i liked it a bunch! kassandra is very fun as a character#i liked the mystery of the cult and i really enjoyed the friendship dynamic with barnabas and herodotos. coupla pals goin on a ship#Speaking of! i liked the adrestia. i liked sailing around and i liked ship battles#i think it's because it's scaled back in comparison to Those Other 3 in terms of weaponry and addons and what have you#so it didn't feel like if i was falling behind if i wasn't dedicating ALL of my resources to the ship all the time idk#the maps id say were right on the border of excessively bighuge but i liked how varied the scenery was#not just between greece and the dlc2 areas but between different regions of greece#and the mythical beast/monster encounters were a nice level of challenging that broke up the monotony of fighting other humans#more on the story i like how personal they've made the plots of orig and odys. it really gets you feeling for the protags right away#it's something that also happened with ezio and connor for example. but syndicate and black flag (especially black flag) are kinda lol lmao#even still in AC2 the motive was ''hunting assassins'' not ''hunting YOU specifically'' so to some degree it was still impersonal#it was cool seeing darius in action but dlc1 parts 1 and 2 felt a bit more eh to me#i think it was just because fast travel in makedonia and achaia was a bit of a pain#dlc2-1 also felt a bit overlong because of how many factions you're helping. 2-2 by comparison is super short (but sweet).#2-3 made me want to kill aita all over again. i have mixed feelings on the isu :thumbsup: Aletheia can hang#this is not the games' fault of course but after Hades (game) seeing all these ''gods'' just look like taller humans is a bit of a flop#(let's not get on how much of an idiot they made hermes of all people)#the further rpgfication of equipment and abilities felt like a chore. what the fuck do you mean ''+17% assassin damage''. be serious.#from what ive heard that's something very much still present in valhalla BUT ALSO there's a stamina bar?????? wherefore dost thou do this.#i will say i missed having an animus database. which was also missing in origins? like ik there's the discovery tour but it's Not the same.#i liked the RW segments well enough. something something blonde woman and protagonist with isu artifact smth smth two nickels#kind of a flop moment to not finish off the literal Biggest Problem for the assassins when you had the chance Layla :/#to valhalla we go

I literally don’t know how to talk about and process this without sounding like some sort of weird incel but maybe that’s what’s going on
#like#I just want a support system it’s not that deep#but I hate feeling all triggered and emo and whatever abt it as if I’m some sort of tragic martyr#I’m just another 20 something living in USA with no good social support services#like this is just what happens#like I’m processing to myself in the tags and it sounds like something some drag queen would roast you for#like hi you never got enough attention from your parents and it’s obvious#like girlllll??????#I need to chill#no I do need to let myself process these emotions like I know what the healthy mindset is for this but GODD#a nerve was hit apparently#like there’s no more looking for parental figures the older you get#the people you wanted to be your parental figures are now just like your age???#what the fuck do I do with that#volunteer at a nursing home I guess#how do people stop pitying themselves forever about this and just live their lives like what the fuck#how do u do that when u still feel like u don’t have a solid support system irl like I guess really no one was coming to save me from#my parents like I’m just stuck here with no idea of where else to go#I have been getting very good at keeping myself open to change and new beginnings and whatever#but holy FUCK can someone hurry up and like let me live at their place for free and be nice to me and I will also be nice to them and maybe#I will be able to make money in a way that is not traumatizing and then we pay off our house and are friends with everyone and can handle#whatever life throws at us#like what about that huh#like what the fuck#ok I think I got all the weird ranting and being stupid and processing out
