Things about Snatcher's Vanessa

When they were alive:

Behind closed doors she had a rocky relationship with her mom. Her mom was strict but fair, wanting her daughter to be prepared for the tittle of queen but Vanessa saw that as dumb and just wanted to be a princess

At one point her mom was growing suspicious of her daughter and her treatment towards her fiancé. Sadly she never got the chance to confront her before she died

It's unknown if her death was caused by Vanessa or not since she was growing suspicious

Vanessa was more upset with becoming Queen and her fiancé calling her Queen than her mothers own death. If anything she felt nothing

No one knows that she have a kill count... She had killed others girls before the whole flower incident.

She is very much aware of Vincent's 'spotty' memory. That's another reason she try to keep hom away from people bc if you hang around him enough you can notice that his bad memory seems suspicious

She is doing everything in her power to make Vincent drop out of school. She hates him being away from him and she HATES that his teacher is a woman

She basically isolated Vincent from his old family and his old kingdom so he can only pay attention to her

She was VERY jealous of Vincent own mother, even when they were children

She do not want him to have any friends at all and will constantly plant the idea inside his head that he isn't paying her enough attention to her

Yes she do indeed put weird things inside the stuff she bake for Vincent

Everytime someone would bring up an injury on Vincent she said he got it from sword practice since he isn't good at it and don't like it.

She is currently trying to push the idea of parenthood onto Vicent as the ultimate way of making him stay with her but so far it's not working

Even if it did work she would get jealous of her own child for taking away Vincent's attention

She is a master manipulator and super two faced that's why she gets away with almost anything

She always had ice magic and it was known that royals typically have magic. She just lost control of it during the flower incident bc of how fucking unstable she is which causes her to kill everyone and herself

Currently dead:

She don't really tend to leave the premises of her castles and mansion. Her leaving those areas will mean big trouble to the forest

She knows Timmy and she hates him bc he is annoying. She sees him like a rat. Annoying.tm

He had thrown a rat into her window once she responded by freezing it and throwing it back

Tbh are first she did not like Hat kid and Bow Kid breaking in bc they brought in dirt and found them annoying. NOW she don't like them bc of how much they hang around Snatcher

At first she didn't notice but she is 200% sure that Snatcher is HER prince. And unfortunately she is right. At first she thought he was some annoying spirit who just wanted to mess with her but at timr went own she began to connect the dots. But she not gonna say anything about it yet. She want to play the long game with him and pretend she don't know

Being completely unstable when she died she is not a ghost that feeds of the suffering of others. She deeply enjoys seeing people in pain

For the most part there isn't a cure of becoming her puppet..at the moment that is.

Her terms of her powers is unknown but there is a possibility of her actually being stronger than snatcher

Is still very petty

Ohhh, I'm rereading Mystra's entry in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide... and this detail:

This means Gale was punished for trying to restore and preserve what he thought was a lost piece of Mystra's magic. Gale being Mystra's ex-lover put aside. He as her follower, she his goddess, was punished for attempting to do the one foundational rule of her faith.

I'm seething and so sad at the same time.

Edit: I used the word punish loosely, as in, toxic/abusive people will take any small mistake or action and twist it into something they can take advantage of. This post was also largely from the stand point of a toxic deity rather than a toxic partner, but both takes are valid here. Especially with the, “you didn’t stay compliant so now I’m giving you the silent treatment” part of it—from a god and a partner perspective.

I love that Isabeau is the one to bring up the "what do we do if you die" conversation cause its a very good insight to his character at the very start of the game. Isabeau is practical, smart, and loves everyone dearly and wants to know how to help them when shit goes sideways. He's the one to ask about Bonnie too, which is a delightful read on how he thinks because everyone else shuts that down instantly as a "That wont happen and cant happen" but we see later in the game it can happen which is such a startling thing for a game to do but justifies the foreshadowing of Bonnie can die what do we do if that happens? Isabeau, despite everything, is also the one who gets to the heart of the matter even if its not something must people are willing to talk about. All without it being part of his friendquest, thats just him naturally. Which! Says so much about him and how he is! His character when its not about his relationship with Siffrin is a very intriguing thing because it feels like a very classic hard intellectual stance that's been softened after many years of learning to better communicate healthily with others. A reflection, if you will, of Odile but in a very drastic direction. I find him fascinating and I also want to scoop his brains out and study them under a microscope to see all his little brain thoughts.

The idea that uni protesters are "elitist ivy-league rich kids larping as revolutionaries" on Twitter and Reddit and even here is so fucking funny to me if you actually know anything about the student bodies at these unis. Take it from someone who's going to one of the biggest private unis in the US, 80% of the peers I know are either from the suburbs or an apartment somewhere in America, children of immigrants, or here on a student visa. I've heard about one-percenter students, but I've never met one in person. Like, don't get me wrong, the institution as a whole is still very privileged and white. I've talked with friends and classmates about feeling weird or dissonant being here and coming from such a different background. But in my art program, I see BIPOC, disabled, queer, lower-income students and faculty trying to deconstruct and tear that down and make space every day. So to take a cursory glance at a crowd of student protesters in coalitions that are led by BIPOC & 1st/2nd-gen immigrant students and HQ'd in ethnic housings and student organizations and say, "ah. children of the elite." Get real.

saying this as respectfully as possible but. Do not put fandom content creators on a pedestal. We are also just fans contributing to a community just as you are. We have boundary on our own work and that’s it. What I say is not and should not be considered sth the whole fandom should listen to. I’m just a normal ass person ranting about things on my blog. If it does not have a fandom tag for others to engage in, do not make it out to be me trying to start fights or addressing the whole community. Because it’s not.

tbh I think Calypso views herself as Odysseus's rest and reward. like, she's the comfort in a hurt/comfort fic. she's the therapy saga. and honestly, a lot of her actions make sense when you look at it like that.

Odysseus is traumatised and scared and hurting. and she understands that. she's so understanding that she doesn't take it personally when he yells or screams or begs -- trauma makes it hard to regulate emotions, after all. he'll calm down in a little bit.

she's so understanding that she's not even hurt when he rejects her advances. he's been alone for so long that he's scared of intimacy now. but she doesn't let that discourage her. he'll get used to the idea eventually.

she's so understanding that she doesn't give up on him, even when he talks and talks and talks about his wife and son. obviously he wants to go back to them, but what he wants isn't what's good for him. that's fine, he doesn't need to know what's good for him yet. that's what she's for.

I love how Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse said “Anyone can be Spider-Man”. listen I know it’s kind of corny and inaccurate to act like every single person in the dc universe knows each other and is besties but it IS endlessly funny to me to follow the web of connections and see how many degrees removed from each other everyone is.

like look at the arrowfam okay. ollie and dinah are together, ollie is homoerotic best friends with hal, dinah is homoerotic best friends with babs. roy is dating dick, has a kid with jade, and is basically an adoptive father to both grant emerson and rose wilson. connor is dating kyle and is constantly followed around by eddie fyers. mia is friends with a lot of the second gen teen titans kids, had an on-again-off-again thing going on with steph for a while, and is currently dating sienna. emiko is besties with courtney and some of the other recent teen titans. sin has a small army of protective aunts from the birds of prey. the real question is how far does it go before ollie puts a cap on the number of people who are invited to family brunch on sundays

lucanis truly has a near terminal case of burned out golden child syndrome. caterina fucked both of these kids over so incredibly bad with the dynamic she enforced there, with illario being labled the perpetual fuckup kid where lucanis 'could do no (would never be allowed to do) wrong'. the way he admits in the first coffee date scene that the only thing that happened when he showed he could carry the weight of expectation was that more weight was added makes me so sad. you can hear it in caterina's voice in his intro mission that she's incredibly proud of him, but this is clearly a leandra and hawke situation where that pride never translates into relief or resolution or unconditional warmth or understanding or anything that really helps.
