No because you see Duke was FORGED by his parents everything he does is in service of THEM to HONOUR their legacies. But Cass was forged IN SPITE of David Cain everything she does is not about HIM but to TAKE CONTROL of her destiny. And Batgirl was her, it was Cass it was all of her, it was the first thing she ever owned; and Robin was his but also theirs, it was Duke and his friends and Damian and the people Duke loves, it was something they shared. But now Cass shares Batgirl with Steph like a hoodie because she loves her, because she can now forge a community around her she never had as a kid. And now Duke becomes the Signal because he's forging his own path, because he's directly honouring his mother rather than using another mother's legacy, maintaining his focus on community but also celebrating what makes him special. They're SO DIFFERENT but they LOVE EACH OTHER and family is so so important to both of them do you even understand what it means for Duke to call Cass his sister??? And for Cass to let him??? These two people for whom family means very different things but is so fundamental to who they are, for them to meet and choose each other means THE WORLD. DUKE & CASS FOREVER

donna expert i require your insight... when it comes to hers and roy's relationship what do you think it is about him that draws her to him? too often discussion of relationships in comics is about what HE likes about HER but thats pretty easy to figure out when it comes to donnaroy so im curious what you think donna likes about him. this isnt anti donnaroy btw theyre my sweeties forever i just want your insight

omg i LOVE this question (and i also outsourced this to the gc so shoutout liz cam and del for helping workshop this): so i think there is that obvious underlying Familiarity first of all. just the comfort of knowing that the other person has known you + loved you since you were baby teenagers and has seen you at your worst and Knows you deeply. but even transcending their history there is a lot of security with roy, he’s just a stable person who she can count on absolutely and even if the relationship goes bad she knows that love will never go away. i rlly think that roy is a safe person donna can be imperfect in front of.. like roy is so easygoing and chill and nawt one to judge on most things and he just.. takes things in stride yknow. if she’s having a weird identity freakout he’s going to be Calm and there for whatever she needs and he’s not going to freak out on HER or get any of his own baggage mixed into it. and also roy is just so Warm like.. he loves with his whole chest and so does donna. they’re very similar in that way, they both have a lot of faith in others & see so much good in the world and i think donna loves that about him. roy is intensely loyal, he’s stable, he has no trouble ceding control in the relationship to donna which she really needed esp during titans 99 when she felt like she had no control over her own life.

okay I've actually had this for a while but like, treating batwheels like a full blown au is so fucking fun. like okay so bruce ends up with a young robin duke and a young batgirl cass. alright. where are the others? don't worry about it. these 3 live in the manor and it is chaos. cass keeps her room a mess and refuses to clean it and bruce won't let Alfred clean it on principal so cass makes a secret evil older brother style deal with duke where she will take his dish duty AND not bully him on patrol for the week if he cleans her room for her. they keep trying stupid combo moves in the field that only work 40% of the time bcs while their powers let them be in almost perfect sync they keep being the moves off the shonen anime they watch together which makes them inevitably fail bcs (shocker) they don't translate well into real life. Bruce literally has to lie to the media that duke is unable to attend an event bcs it's sick when in reality it's bcs him and cass are in a fight and refused to chill out enough to both be seen in public. idk I just think the siblingisms could be legendary. and also the vehicles in the basement are alive

sorry to be sad about ace west again but can you imagine going through your life and no one quite Gets you even if they love you and the people who DO understand you either leave you or horribly betray you and you’re so angry and alone and adrift and then you meet this guy who is just like you and you love him instantly and you finally feel like you have a person who Gets you and then he fucking dies. Love the idea that the rest of the batfam never knows what to expect with Cass and Dick. Monday they're a united eldest sibling front against Bruce's nonsense. Tuesday Cass walks into the cave and decks Dick in the face for reasons unknown to everyone else. Wednesday she's crying and he's comforting her. Thursday he's grumbling to Tim, Duke and Damian about how he can't be the only good older sibling example and it's not fucking fair that she gets away with all the bullshit she does. Friday they're back to being a united front against Bruce, who they've decided is the root of all their issues. Saturday they're sparring but it's so intense half the family wonder if they're fighting for real again. Sunday they work like a well oiled machine and solve 23 cases in one night. Monday the cycle repeats.
