#wow this got longer than i thought

back on my bullshit, so here's the nefarious headcanon post i alluded to earlier

for those who don't know, dr. nefarious is a muse i've rped for at almost six years, as i started writing him back in november of 2018 on his own single muse blog. i was 15 at the time, and the posts are rather embarrassing to look back on due to how my writing style has changed, but i still hold him dear to my heart.

these headcanons were all created when this blog was active, i'm simply transferring them over to this blog now. THIS POST IS EXTREMELY LONG, and contains ns4w headcanons, so read at your own risk.

being a robot, dr. nefarious is powered by electricity. there’s a certain mechanical part in his chest area that supplies these charges. It’s pretty much just his heart. if it were to be severely damaged or removed from his body, nefarious would technically ‘die’. he can be brought back however if he can somehow get another source that supplies him electricity or the piece is put back in his chest.

even with a electrical pump for a heart, there’s another type of energy that nefarious needs in order to function properly. oil and other such liquids acting somewhat as fuel. he usually needs a regular fill up once every few days, but sometimes daily if he’s been injured/in recovery. it’s sort of like his blood, if he loses a lot of it, he can very quickly become at risk of dying.

more so, there is yet another way for nefarious to get energy, but this one isn’t necessary for his survival. he can consume regular human foods and liquids and store them inside his body for later usage. it’s kinda like a last resort type of thing. if his electrical pump is damaged and he doesn’t have enough oil to keep himself running, then his body will begin to use up the natural energy from the food he’s been storing as fuel instead. yet his body will only do this is he has no other form of energy.

before nefarious turned into a robot, he was really sensitive behind his ears. if someone was to pet them, then there was a good chance the scientist would start purring happily. it was a commonly used method among the other galactic rangers in order to help calm him down if he was in a bad mood or overworking. somehow, nefarious purring has actually transferred over into his robot body as well. however, since he no longer has ‘ears’, there are other places that when pet will get him to purr. there are only two known areas, the small screws on the sides of his head and the long wing-like appendages on his back.

nefarious has to keep himself from getting wet from any main source of water. his body will rust up like other forms of metal, causing his joints to become stiff and make him nearly immobile. when this happens, a few drips of oil and a quick clean will set things right again, but it still doesn’t make things any more enjoyable for nef.

nefarious’s original green goblin-ish species is very low in numbers, only reaching a couple thousand at the most. this is because of an apex predator that was introduced to their planet and ended up reproducing so much that they started wiping out nefarious's species as a source of food.

neffy has tried to fix his own injuries by himself in the past without lawrence’s help. yet this usually led him to screwing it up and just making the situation worse. he knows the basics of surgery and how to perform it on other creatures, yet he can never seem to perform it correctly on himself. whilst most of the stuff he does is only basic first aid, he’ll more often than not find proper help once he’s away from the battlefield or away from prying eyes.

nsfw headcanons below.

nefarious has both male and female genitalia, both in his original form as well as robot form. it’s something his species has evolved to have due to their numbers declining in the past thousand years in an attempt to preserve themselves. his robotic body is still equipped with both genitals nowadays, but they are hidden in his pelvic area with two detachable plugs/compartments. all nefarious has to do is open one of the trap doors and tada, there they are. if I could describe what they looked like in simple terms, just imagine a glowing green tentacle as his penis and a smaller glowing green opening behind it to work as the vagina.

seeing as he has both reproductive organs, it means that nefarious is able to bear/birth children. though he’s never done it before, his system still allows for it to happen. if he was still in his organic 'squishy' form, he could be able to gestate the children to full term. however, given his robotic composition nowadays, it is likely that the embryo would have to be extracted from himself and put into an artificial womb instead. metal and wires don't exactly give much room for growth.

however, nefarious's species cannot just reproduce on the fly like others can. in order for nefarious to become pregnant, they have to have entered a sort of heat. this heat happens around every 5-6 months. it’s during this time that the species’s body releases a special chemical that attracts mates for the mating season. when nefarious's species mate during this period, it is almost certain that they will become pregnant soon afterwards.

It was clear to Marco that Casper was refusing to let go of the stranger's arms and he dramatically sighed, "If you don't give him back, I'm calling my lawyer!" Oh he had the audacity to blame him even though it was his own fault his son would much rather stay in this stranger's arms. And this stranger was also a lawyer.

Vincent had no idea who this problematic guy was but he was hella annoying! He had a hunch of what was happening and had dealt with cases like this before. Seeing the pleading eyes of the kid in his arms reminded him of the neglect from his own father.

"For fuck sake Marco," Petrah cursed under her breath, "Honey! Let's not make a scene, there are people here," she shot secret daggers at him, worried about her reputation. If paparazzi saw any of this-

Then Renee came over, "Calm down sir." When he wouldn't, she gave up and showed her police ID. Marco recognised her but couldn't quite place when they'd met. But she was a detective and he didn't want to get into trouble. You're in deep shit now Marco...

"I apologise for my husband's childish outburst but I can explain." With her best acting skills, Petrah explained the situation her own way. "Let me buy you some drinks perhaps?" she didn't want to get into trouble either and surprisingly settled all the misunderstandings.

I was watching some old bbc radio 1 clips and hearing their old introduction for the radio show, them describing it as putting the audience in charge, and thinking about answering fan questions for the basis of pinof, thinking about interactive introverts and giving the people what they want. For so long, their content has been SO connected to us, to interacting with us, answering our questions, giving us some element of control.

If you ask us why we watch Dan and Phil, we’d probably say for their dynamic, because we enjoy them as people and think they’re entertaining and enjoy how they interact together. But if you ask what kind of content Dan and Phil have made, it’s mainly stuff where they are trying to centers fans, not themselves. And sure, they have made lots of story time videos in their individual content, but I’m talking joint content: they’ve made an effort to make it about us, for years. Even when they started the gaming channel, then, they were trying to center the games, the competition of it all, not their dynamic.

Given everything that’s happened, it makes sense that they wanted to hold onto their privacy, and not make their relationship the center of the content. They weren’t comfortable being out, or comfortable fully inviting us to scrutinize their dynamic. So giving the audience “control,” deflecting the attention away from “we want to do this” and “we want you to know this” to “you want us to do this” and “you want to know this” as a defense mechanism. Yet they still maintained actual control, selecting which audience questions and suggestions to include, while making fans feel valued and involved.

And this isn’t a bad thing! They are fully entitled to their privacy, and this emphasis on interaction with us is a large part of why I think they built such a strong and wonderful community. And they clearly actually do like us and are glad to have us, so there’s also some element of gratitude and wanting to give back in wanting us to be included in the content.

But that’s changing, now. What Dan and Phil text each other, spill or kill, the mukbangs, this is all parts of themselves and their dynamic that they are freely choosing to share with us, to make the topic of the video. Their gaming videos are not about playing popular games, it’s just random bullshit or niche games that just give them a chance to yap, intentionally centering their dynamic in the content. And sure, there’s them looking at phan twitter, but there’s also them just sitting and watching tik toks and recording it so we can see too. We talk about feeling like a third wheel so much recently, because they are so comfortable and themselves on camera and so much less focused on directing the content towards us, and more focused on just having fun Together.

They came back to the gaming channel not to make us happy, but because it made THEM happy, because Dan genuinely wanted to again. Comparing how they talk about the content they were making in 2018 to now in the last mukbang, there’s now no feeling of owing us something, of wanting to give us what we want to make us happy. Dan said he can’t wait for Phil to Get to see us all in person, not just that they know we want to see them. They are doing this for themselves, they’ve repeatedly said that they’re shocked at the response to the gaming channel coming back: they didn’t make this choice for us.

They are now explicitly in control of their content, it’s not about us. And yet they’re Choosing to center their dynamic and be themselves, show us more of themselves than ever before. After everything, I just think it’s really special that they feel comfortable doing that, and I’m so glad that we get to see them be so happy and doing things for their own good.

Elemental transition headcanons

In my mind Primo was the one to create most of the magic rituals at the Ministry, even before his time as Papa, but that's a topic for another day.

Anyway, he is the one responsible for the transition ritual. It's really complicated, time consuming and resource draining so the Clergy usually just opts to summon a new ghoul, but there are special cases like Delta and Dewdrop. They were deemed worthy of the hassle and they were water ghouls. Water ghouls are by far the most susceptible to the elemental change, their element easily 'tainted' by others, so the costs of the ritual aren't as high. For the Clergy that is. On the other hand, quintessence ghouls are the most resistant, nothing really 'sticking' to their ethereal essence.

The ritual doesn't work on multi ghouls because their cores work differently than mono elemental ghouls, their cores would just eat up the element trying to transition them like fuel. The ritual doesn't change the structure of the ghoul's elemental core. It takes their element, tries to nullify it and replace it. Biologically speaking they stay their birth element even as the new one changes their body for its needs. The body may try to reject it, resulting in the ghoul becoming unstable, both physically and mentally. After the transition they use their new element more like multi ghouls than the mono ones as they still have to use the core structure of their old element. That's why Dewdrop has better time adjusting than Delta did, because Swiss was there to help him out at least a little.

Water ghouls

Water > fire is the most traumatic transition on the body as the fire basically evaporates the water from the ghoul's core, but it's also the most stable after the healing is done. Why? Because usually there is no water left in the core after it evaporates so the elements don't fight each other. Again why Dew is more stable than Delta was, even though the process was much more agonizing.

Water > earth is smooth both in the process and the aftermath. Earth just absorbs the water into itself and although some hiccups might happen it's rather harmonious.

Water > quintessence is like oil and water. It doesn't exactly mix, but at least it sticks together. As such the transition is relatively easy, but later on one may become unstable due to water treating the quintessence as sickness. Unfortunately that's what happened to Delta, even with his predisposition for quintessence as a deep sea water ghoul (topic for another day too).

Water > air is fickle because realistically air can't change much besides the water's shape. It's a constant fight and you never know when a disaster might strike, but at least the ritual itself is not that invasive and if the ghoul keeps using their new powers it tends to allow their new powers to hold the lead.

Earth ghouls

Earth > fire is another traumatic transition, although slightly less than water > fire, because earth acknowledges ashes as something that can give new life. It might fight the fire on that front sometimes, but it's rare.

Earth > water is again, pretty easy on the body as those two elements mix well, but it can have earth act up as it muddies the water. It results in mood swings rather than full on unstableness though.

Earth > quintessence can be a pretty painful transition as quintessence twists and molds earth into unnatural states and that pain can come and go through the rest of the ghoul's life, it's easy on the mind though

Earth > air is a recipe for disaster as air is helpless against earth. The body almost always rejects the new element, leading to a quick decay in health.

Fire ghouls

Fire > water works in the same vein as water > fire just with the water dousing the fire instead.

Fire > earth is another harsh transition, because fire would probably be choked out, like extinguishing a firepit with dirt. The fire would probably try to come back with its last embers, causing problems from time to time.

Fire > quintessence is a really favorable one, quintessence gets to play making a rainbow of the fire and it eats whatever is given to it up

Fire > air is another disaster one. Air only being able to fan the flames even more, making the ghoul aggressive and explosive as fire is not what the body is accustomed to anymore.

Air ghouls

Air > water is a coin flip. It will either take or not. The only saving grace of the water is that it can take the oxygen for air.

Air > earth often makes ghouls feel trapped in their own body as all earth does is block the air, leading to the ghoul's mind, not body, rejecting the transition.

Air > quintessence mix well together, creating something akin to heavy mist. The flowly nature of the air and quintessence's ethereality make them work together rather than against each other.

Air > fire is one of the easiest ones on both body and mind. As air naturally bolsters the strength of the fire, making it practically a perfect transition.

Quintessence ghouls

Quintessence > water & quintessence > earth & quintessence > fire are pretty much all in the same boat of quintessence can influence them, but they can't influence it so these transitions are bound to fail and leave the ghoul an empty shell. There is like 2% chance it will work, maybe 4% if they have the element of the transition in their close family.

Quintessence > air is feasible. Air can disperse the quintessence, making it easier to manage. Overall a pretty stable combination, especially if the ghoul is using their new powers frequently like with water > air. May make ghouls loopy sometimes though, if the quintessence manages to condense enough.

Okay like don’t get me wrong- Hikari absolutely knows how to cut his losses. As much as he loves his friends, he’s mature enough to put his feelings aside the moment they get in the way of his goals, and fight them if they refuse to back down.

But. When presented with the ability to loop back in time? An infinite amount of do-overs, which could be used to find a better ending… at his disposal…. Hm.

Imagine he wakes up in his room in the castle town. Huh, that’s … odd? He clearly remembered being in the Leaflands when he fell asleep last night. He’d remember — he had helped Partitio and Osvald set up camp once Ochette found a good spot in the forest. He clearly remembered sitting around the campfire with his seven found family members as they all discussed the next chapters of their lives, talking about all the places they would go once their journey was over. They’d scatter across the continent once again, like they were before they’d met a few months prior. He remembered Partitio’s warm embrace as they fell asleep together in their shared tent, along with the odd twinge of melancholy, wondering how much longer….

…well, that was before. All that matters is that he was in the Leaflands with his friends last night, and now he’s … here. Back in Hinouema? Hikari quickly crossed off the idea in his mind that somebody had taken him in his sleep last night because — aside from the obvious lack of motive — the distance between Ku and the Leaflands was a multiple day’s trip. It’d be impossible to make it here in a single night.

Yet, he’s here. He’s here???

Upon getting up and opening the door, Hikari notes two things. For one, the castle town was in very surprisingly good shape, as if Mugen had never staged a coup at all. Second of all…

“Lord Hikari! You’re up late…”

Yeah that’s as far as my creativity got me here, but I imagine that once Hikari figures out that it’s a time loop that he’s stuck in, he considers trying to use this power to keep all of his friends alive.

Yes, realistically, it’s pretty naive to expect to be able to save everyone alive through his own actions alone, but … It couldn’t hurt to try. After all, he is in a position to help everyone out, right? It’d be pretty terrible to not save his friends now that he has the power to undo their deaths. He could be their guiding light — but better! The gods seem to agree, how else could he have gained this power?

So … maybe just one try. Or two? Or five … or maybe eight. Well, if he paid more attention to Kazan and pried a little more, maybe his words could finally reach him. It’d save the group the effort of having to fight a god, after all.

Hikari’s village wouldn’t have to go up in flames if he fought back harder, he and Ritsu could possibly walk the same path once again if he could just convince him, win him over with his words … and Mikka wouldn’t have to lose her older brother! Tsuki wouldn’t have to die, and maybe Kazan wouldn’t throw himself into those damn flames— AND!!! He could help his friends too!!! He could help Osvald save Elena faster, save Ori from stabbing herself, or — now that he has the blessing of retrospect, he could push Temenos in the right direction a little bit faster so that Crick wouldn’t have to die!!!

So … ten tries? Twenty?

Before he knows it, he’s been looping for months, nearly a year, and he’s still trying…

What if your control over your ability depends on how much you accept it as a part of you? The idea that every single ability has a consciousness, one that, no matter what, is made to protect or assist its user in some way. If you don't accept and come to terms with having a second 'you' inside you, then your ability will not work with you, simply because you are not willing to work with it when all it's trying to do is help you.

Because of this, it won't always do what you want it too at first, it won't always work, and it'll do what it thinks is best, not caring about what the user will think about it. You have to understand it was there to help you, learn that your ability is a part of you, even the parts that hurt others, the parts that hurt you, because in the end, all its doing is to fulfill the most human wish.

Survive. Live.

It's not always liking your ability, it's knowing that the ability is trying to protect you, to let you live and survive in grow no matter the cost. The pain it's caused will always be there, sometimes it will come back as a memory, and that pain comes flooding back. It's trying, and so are you. Yes, it will hurt sometimes, sometimes you'll wish you never had it, that you died instead of obtaining it, because that would prevent the pain it's caused. It's not learning to love your ability, it's learning that it embodies the part of you that wanted to survive. It's not entirely you, but a part of you. The more you know that, the easier it is to deal with and use to your advantage.

Cordelia is a woman that upholds a very regal and refined air, seen by many others at Utopia as either an older sister or mother type. She's fiercely protective of the other employees, to the point where yes, she would gladly kill for them. She's a very relaxed woman overall, friendly and welcoming, flirtatious and unafraid to simply be who she is.

She has a knack for making her own clothing, regardless of what's considered on trend or not, and refuses to wear anything made by anyone else, being that she's extremely picky with fabric and fit. She even has her own extensive storage of expensive fabrics, and has close ties to a number of stores to ensure she can get her hands on whatever she might need.

Extra facts

She is almost never seen wearing actual shoes, but the socks she wears are specially designed so it isn't an issue.

If she should ever blush, hers is a neon blue as opposed to more normal red.

The flowing fins she has are completely prehensile and able to be moved as she wishes.

She has a few pets around her home in the Envy ring, mostly bio - luminescent fish, along with an extensive collection of rare sea flora.

I think aran and kita's first time is super soft and intimate, but I also think aran is sooooo anxious he ends up. not being able to get hard because he's overthinking everything.

they still call it their first time despite not actually going all the way. aran wanted it to be perfect. he lit some candles, washed his sheets, kicked his parents out of the house.

but when he and kita were making out, he was still worried about everything being just right. aran was jumpy and skittish. in the end it made kita a little nervous as well.

until kita pushed aran away and demanded he explain what was going on. aran rambled about his insecurities and anxieties until kita shut him up with a kiss.

they agreed to try again another night, but use this night to just be comfortable with each other.

and, yeah, it was a little awkward to strip down naked with each other and just lay in bed at first. they sat away from each other, the tv quietly playing a movie.

until they slowly scooted closer, they cuddled, and eventually started kissing again. this time slower, more relaxed. they let their hands roam, just feeling each other and being in each other's space and area.

and while they were both hard at the end of the night, they decided to stay true to their decision to wait another night. but it was a good step in the right direction.

so while most people would consider the night a failure, aran and kita considered it one of the biggest steps in their relationship.

Spider-people from ATSV as spiders! (Yes, I know Lyla isn’t technically a spider person, and vinegaroons aren’t spiders but you know what I mean!)

For all of the spiders, I tried to stick vaguely with the IRL colouration (albeit with more fitting patterns). Most colours are colour picked from spider photos. Miles and Miguel have human patterns instead of their spider ones, cute touch I reused from my spidersona

Miles - giant vinegaroon. This is an arachnid BUT not a spider, which I thought matched his whole “not feeling like a real spider person” arc well. I chose this species specifically because it would be a perfect fit for the prowler (spikes, scary look), so fits prowler!miles and the theory miles was going to be the prowler in his universe

Gwen - white porch spider. I really struggled picking her species lol. I knew I wanted something sleek with long legs, but specifics I didn’t really know. I ended up choosing this species because the pale colouration worked nice for Gwen’s colourscheme

Lyla - house jumping spider. I knew as soon as I got the idea I HAD to draw Lyla as a jumping spider, it fits her so well! This one I was more relax with the colours and design as she’s a hologram, I gave her an outline and lighter lineart colours to show this

Miguel - Sydney funnel web spider. Chosen because it’s the most venomous (to humans) spider in the world (and his whole thing is biting) and also because they are just so intimidating and epic. Tbh I don’t think I even did the species justice, I recommend looking them up

actually so funny (it isn't) that everytime i struggle to do something and i tell my parents about it they just respond with "you just have to do it." like. guys. if i could "just do it" i would NOT be complaining about not being able to do it!!

I've spent hours upon hours upon hours over the years waiting for the burning to stop. Just sitting still and drinking water and praying "please let this be over in less than an hour". Waiting and waiting while people get impatient, because they want to keep walking around, keep going about life, but it hurts to move and I'm feverish and it's humiliating.
