My HCs for Cabin 10 🩰 🕊 🎀

As a Cabin 10 girlie, I know 100% that these things would happen

They'd definitely be friends with Ares and Hephaestus kids

Ares kids would do their dirty work for them and help them plan ways to get back at other campers who were bullying their siblings

Aphrodite kids always have a Hephaestus friend so that they can build them things like lipstick swords, nail file daggers, a flame-resistant self fanning hand fan like from period dramas

Aphrodite kids are all about ~hacks~ so they'll take a shower then go to visit their Hephaestus buddy and put rollers in their hair since the forge's heat would basically dry and style their hair for them (no need for a blowdryer they can just sit and talk while their hair basically get a perm)

Also, they would def get the Hephaestus cabin to install a huge counter with sinks in their cabin so that they can sit in the sink and do their makeup (IYKYK)

Cabin 10 sleepovers almost every week

Cabin 10 loves love so ofc they're the biggest Disney princess fans ever!

If they hear that another camper hasn't seen them (looking at you Annabeth) they'll practically drag them to their cabin and force them to watch the movies

Aphrodite kids tie dye, bleach splatter, cut up, crop, add corseting to their shirts to make the bright orange chb tees less ugly

I feel like aphrodite kids are all interested in different things so like you have the nature girlies, the theatre kids, the stereotypical Regina George type, pastel goth queens, witchy baddies, fashion school students and the dedicated athletic ones (like dance, ice skating, gymnastics, soccer etc)

The nature girlies in cabin 10 work with Demeter kids to create a butterfly garden at camp that has benches and tall grasses and butterfly bush plants (like this) and they'll go out there and just sit and watch the butterflies

During capture the flag, they'll be in the group guarding the flag because they can charmspeak anyone on the opposite team to turn around and go the other direction

Not everyone in cabin 10 is comfortable with combat so they'll often help with strategy esp. if ares cabin is on the opposite team because they know them so well and can predict what they do

They have a secret cabin groupchat that can't be tracked and they'll ask their siblings to bring them certain makeup/skincare products the next time they come back to camp or to send them

Along this line, they would definitely make a list of products they've run out of and ask hermes cabin to go get the stuff for them

Like "oh you're sneaking out to get takis? Can you get mascara and lip liner while you're out? We need Charlotte Tillbury pillow talk and L'oreal telescopic mascara. Thanks bestie"

So. I made a discord.

I’ve actually had discord for a while, but only now have decided to shift its focus from what it once was to a more spiritually focused path since that’s what I really want to be focusing my life on right now!

So

What is this discord?

This discord is essentially an online coven! It was whipped up in a very tired, coffee driven few hours at ungodly times. It’s empty and still being set up properly. However, it’s only me running it! So I’m currently looking for other people to help aid me in running a server, giving out resources, teaching things or offering advice, and obvi anyone who just wants to join.

Tbh the list grows every day, but here’s what I have as of right now (as a side note—in the early chat posts all the batkids had just their usual vigilante names, so some of the ones I’m about to list might not be in a post yet):

Roy/Arsenal -> Arse/Arse ~ It just fits him so well it had to be used twice

Harley Quinn -> Aunty Harls ~ Bruce does not approve.

Bruce/Batman -> B/Batman ~ He refuses to participate

Barbara/Oracle-> Barbie/Know-it-All ~ She’s the mastermind behind all this and makes sure that Bruce keeps all the contact names.

Clark/Superman -> Smallville/Big Blue ~ His names were chosen by Lois and Dick.

Damian/Robin -> Demon/Blood Son ~ Jason voted to call him lollipop guild, Damian violently refused.

Cassandra/Black Bat -> Caassssssss/Silent but Cuddly ~ Her original Vigilante nickname was Snëki snäkē, but the new one is more fitting.

Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy -> CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL ~ She picked this, but Harley will probably give her a new one soon.

Selina/Catwoman -> Crazy Cat Lady/Kitty kitty ~ I’m probably gonna change hers soon but idk what to yet.

Dick/Nightwing -> Dickhead/The Good, the bad, and the booty ~ His vigilante name was v recently changed from Flippy Boi.

Constantine -> Gutter Mage ~ He has canonically been called this, also his recent increase in appearances is due to me reading a lot of the old hellblazer comics (they can be a bit problematic at points but some are surprisingly relevant to current events in the US)

Diana/Wonder Woman -> Prince(ss)/Jason’s favorite ~ She’s a proud aunt who adores Jason.

Jason/Red Hood -> Jaybird/Pew pew ~ He likes to mock Bruce by saying ‘I am Pew pew’ in a Batman voice.

Kon/Superboy -> Konkonkon/Token Punk ~ When Constantine saw Token Punk he asked Kon about it and they ended up bonding over punk music.

J’onn/Martian Manhunter -> TBD/Lean Green Fighting Machine ~ I don’t often think of him interacting with everyone as a civilian so he might not get a civvie name.

Barry/Flash -> TBD/Lightning McQueen ~ I’ll probably have a civilian name for him soon, just hasn’t come up yet.

Killer Croc -> Monch and Cronch ~ Don’t ask me why/How Waylon has a phone.

Oliver/Green Arrow -> Olly Olly Oxen Free/The Other Green One ~ He was a little bitter about his civilian name but Babs won’t let him change it (she is the keeper of names).

Duke/Signal -> Pretty Pretty Shiny Shiny/The Duke ~ Apollo might change his name soon. Ik they haven’t interacted in comics (at least not that I know of) but I like to imagine Andrew (Apollo) is to Duke as Diana is to Jason.

Steph/Batgirl -> Stephers/Pörple people eater ~ I always forget that I was reading her batgirl arc when I first added her so I made her batgirl instead of spoiler, Ik this lines up better but i do prefer the traditional spoiler Costume.

Riddler -> Riddle Me this, Why am I Here?? ~ He doesn’t understand why he is in their contact list.

Hal/Green Lantern -> TBD/Ring Ring Motherfucker ~ He hasn't entered civilian conversation yet, but maybe soon.

Dinah/Black Canary -> TBD/Scream Queen ~ Right now her civilian contact is Scream Queen, but I'm gonna switch that around and use something else for her civilian name

Billy/Captain Marvel -> TBD/Sparky Sparky Boom Man ~ Billy still thinks no one knows who he is. He is wrong.

Damian's Bestest Friend/Superboy 2.9 ~ The first one was just to annoy Damian. The other was supposed to be Superboy 2.0 but he messed up and now Barbara won't let him take it back.

Wally/Kid Flash -> Walls/The Real Speedy ~ Roy does not find this amusing.

Tim/Red Robin -> Timber/Yum ~ Now if Tim ever passes out they yell Timber, he is not amused.

Zatanna -> Witchy Woman ~ She's the only reason John joined the group chat. She's also the only reason why he no longer has a flip phone. He now has a Blackberry Curve.

Right now that's all of them. I am going to add Boston Brand, no clue how or why he'll have a phone, I just like him and want him to be along for the ride. His name will probably be something like "I GOTTA PHONE" or "Ghosts Have Rights Too". I'm definitely gonna add others (Midnighter and Apollo, my favs) just don't know who or when yet. But if there's anyone you rlly wanna see just lmk and I'll see what I can do :)

✨ How To Wake Witchblr ✨

We’ve all seen the hashtag #wakingwitchblr or the term itself at one point. Still, I found that there’s a lack of info on what you can actually do to make witchblr more active. 

So I took it upon myself to create a list of things that anyone can do to revive our amazing community! Enjoy !

1) Don’t Like, Reblog instead 📣

There’s nothing inherently wrong with liking a post, it’s just that due to how Tumblr works, liking a post does virtually nothing. Reblogging, however, lets that post be seen by more and more people. The surefire way to revive witchblr is by reblogging as many witchy posts as you can. 

But what if some posts just doesn’t fit into your blog’s theme, even though you want to support it? Well, you have a couple options:

Reblog anyway. Diversifying your posts actually makes your blog more interesting. You can always tag it as ‘off-topic’ if the different theme bothers you that much.

Create a reblog/spam account! I have one and it is so simple. The post may not gain as much traction compared to if you RB-ed in your main blog, but trust me when I say a single reblog goes a long way.

Share it on other social media. See that arrow-like button down there? Click it and you can share the post anywhere. Send it to your witchy discord servers or your insta groupchat !

 2) Get off the 'Top’ page. Go to ‘Recent’ 💌

AKA reblog from lesser-known bloggers.

Not only will you support fellow witches creating content, this also give you a chance to talk to them and find your place within Witchblr! Which brings me to my next point...

3) Interact with The Community 💬

If I’m a witch who wants to move away from Tumblr, there will be only one thing that can stop me, and that’s the friends and connections that I’ve made here.

Join online covens and discord servers, ask your witchstagram and witchtok friends for their tumblr url, and just have fun together. 

Interacting with other witches, making friends, even just giving compliments or advices. This is what makes us a community. It’s what makes us stay here. If we don’t interact with each other, than we’re just a bunch of people who likes the same thing without any connection. That’s not witchblr.

4) Diversify Your Tags 🎪

There is a kind of... exclusivity, when you look through the hashtags of witchy posts. Witches only ever tag with “witchblr”, “witchcraft”, and “magick”.

This creates an accurate, non-spammy post, but it is also a post that will only show up on other witches’ dashboard and no one else’s. The community will never grow in this way because there will be no new people finding the community. It’s just an echo chamber.

Instead, diversify your tags. I’m not telling you to tag your ritual oil with ‘cars for sale’, but if you made a travel altar yourself, there’s nothing wrong in tagging it #crafting, #diy, #handmade, etc. 

Non-witches will then find the post and potentially become interested in the community, thus making it grow.

5) Make Original Content 🔮

Original content is the backbone of any community, and witchblr is dying because we’re not producing any. So if you want to revive witchblr, make content of your own.

No, it doesn’t have to be well thought-out. Heck, it doesn’t even have to be good. Original content can be anything! It can be you posting about a witchy thing that happened. It can be your drawing, or a picture you took. It could even be memes???

Or it could be a ‘how to wake witchblr’ post that you wrote because you have a script due 3 weeks ago and somehow this is your idea of procrastination

The point is: just click that ‘Make a Post’ button, and make a freaking post !

6) Share This, and Add Your Own Tips! 🖤

Now that you know these, it’s time to let other people know too ! I put a lot of thoughts into this post, but I have to admit that these tips will only work if everyone in the community is doing it. 

If you have other tips or ways to make Witchblr more active, feel free to reblog with your own addition too.

I love this community, and if you’re reading this post I’m sure you do as well. It’s not gonna happen overnight, but I know that we can be as active as we used to be. We’ve got the heart, we just need the action.

Im part of @torque-witch’s discord which I really enjoy. All the other witchy discords I’m part of are through Patreon, so I can’t personally recommend anything else. But I know there are a lot of other discords out there for witches and pagans.

Hey love💙 I know how intimidating it can be starting witchcraft- there’s so much to learn and you never know where to start. So here’s some quick closet witch (meaning no one knows you’re a witch yet) and baby witch ( meaning new witch) tips for you:)

Baby witch tips

🦋cleanse everything!! It’s so important to cleanse your space, your crystals, your tarot cards, or anything else you use in your craft. This helps to get rid of all the negative energy and keeps things like crystals doing what they’re supposed to! It depends how much you use them, but usually I cleanse my tarot cards about twice a week and everything else once a week

🦋you don’t have to buy really expensive supplies. Those specialty witch shops are way over priced! If you need a bag for your tarot cards, dice bags are great and a lot cheaper. Places like etsy are great for finding affordable crystals. You don’t have to own loads and loads of tarot decks. You can use things you can find in your kitchen for spells instead of more expensive ingredients. You don’t need heaps of witchy books to be a great witch.

🦋don’t trust everything you see on tumblr. Tumblr is a great place to find information and talk to other witches, but there is also a lot of misinformation out there! Make sure to check a few places to make sure the information you are using is correct.

🦋If you don’t know what to start researching first here are some really important things to know: the history of witchcraft, cleansing, grounding, warding, casting a circle, protecting yourself during a spell, correspondents (crystals, herbs, etc.), how to look after your crystals, what herbs and incense and stuff is safe to use and when (eg. If you can ingest it, if it’s safe to use around pregnant women, safe for pets, etc.), how to make sigils, types of witches. These are just a few things I could think of, but they’re a great place to start!

🦋It’s not essential, but its handy to enchant something you always wear, like a piece of jewelry, to protect you throughout the day :)

🦋start a grimoire/ book of shadows. It’s handy to have any research you’ve done or spells you want to try on hand Incase you need them. And if you’re not a fan of writing, google docs is great for online grimoires

🦋If you want to work with deities, please DO NOT try to contact them or work with them striaght away. Make sure you have done a ton of research and are pretty comfortable with your craft before doing this. I don’t personally work with deities so I don’t know too much, but if you need more advice there are plenty of lovely witches on here that I’m sure wouldn’t mind giving you some tips!

Closet witch tips

🦋make your altar in a shoebox. If you don’t want your parents to find it or get suspicious, this is a great solution! You can easily hide it on a shelf or under your bed

🦋if people ask why you buy so many crystals, just say you think they look pretty. I told my parents this for years and they didn’t think twice about it.

🦋a lot of people collect candles! They smell great! It really doesn’t seem that weird and even if it makes people suspicious, they’re pretty cheap in a lot of shops and easy to hide

🦋if you don’t want people to see your sigils, just trace them on things with your fingers or in the air with incense. It works just as well as drawing them

🦋If you want to cast a spell but you’re afraid someone will walk in, wait until everyone’s gone to bed to do them. I know this one seems kind of obvious, but I actually didn’t think of it for ages lol

🦋If you cant get a tarot deck because your parents won’t let you you could : ask a friend to get it for you and pay them back, make you own(!!), use playing cards, or use an app. There are plenty of apps you can download that are essentially just a virtual tarot deck and they work just as well!
