Interest Post: Death Worker & Death Magic Server

Hey! Would anyone be interested in a server for Death Workers and those who practice Death Magic? I would probably divide it into sections for the magic in general and then also the work? Opinions on Love Magic

(These are some thoughts I had while working on the WWGW: Love Spells post, which I figured I'd share! (: )

Love magic is morally neutral. In my opinion, all magic is, in the same way that nature is morally neutral. It’s what you do with it and why you do it that changes its morality.

Casting a love spell specifically because you want to control and manipulate someone else for your own selfish ends sucks. I see it as no different than deliberately manipulating someone with mundane means. On the other hand, casting a love spell because you believe you and someone else are meant to be, and it’s going to improve both your lives — that’s not a bad thing.

It’s up to you to draw your own moral lines. Personally, I’d be hard-pressed to find reason to cast a spell to directly manipulate someone’s thoughts and feelings toward me. I’ve done it in the past, though, so I understand the desire for it. All interpersonal magic manipulates thought in some way — from spells to make you appear as the best candidate to the hiring manager to spells that make you physically attractive to a particular person to spells that force people to stop misgendering you.

The main danger with love magic is in creating a dependency on the magic to attract and maintain the relationship(s) you end up with. It’s not so much about the magic as it is about the emotional immaturity behind it.

Which is not to say that the people casting love spells are immature. Rather, I mean that over-reliance on love magic to create and maintain relationships takes the work away from those relationships. If you’re solving all of your emotional problems by “getting rid of them” via magic, you’re not learning anything. You’re not growing as a person. You’re avoiding issues instead of facing them.

The other issue, I think, is that love magic can stunt communication and genuine connection. Again, if you’re relying on spells and magic to keep someone interested in you (and who otherwise wouldn’t be that into you for whatever reason), are you really seeing them as they are? Are they seeing you as you are? What sort of relationship does that create? What sort of dynamic?

Again, if that’s what you want, then whatever. Do you. But I would urge you to consider: When the magic wears off, and if the spell were to suddenly fizzle out, what’s left? Will the relationship survive in a healthy fashion without constant metaphysical interference?

These are the questions and issues I think we should talk about when we talk about love magic. Not “don’t do that because it’s evil and selfish,” but “there are consequences and costs that are important to acknowledge outside an evil/good dichotomy.” Not “this is bad,” but “is this healthy?”

Love magic is morally neutral on its own. It’s what you choose to do with it and why you do it that matters.

My witchy school tips!

Okay, so now I am back to school as well! I got a few witchy tips I enjoy at school, and all are aimed to hide your practice.

🔮Wear crystals or have them in your pockets/pencil case/school bag. I got this black crochet pouch that I thought I list even tho I used my pencil case often because I just couldn't see it, perfect to hide crystals.

🪐Doodles in the books aren't exactly welcome on my school even tho it is a normal witchcraft practice to create sigils. My idea is instead to use sticky notes so your workbook will be all clean and the teachers will mostly be okay with it.

🔮Color magic is a classic, but so are patterns! First day of school I wore a flower top in pinks, yellows and greens. This do for me represent beauty, kindness and being calm, as well as joy and staying grounded.

🪐Enchant your drinks. It can be enchanting the water bottle, using moon/sun water ice cubes, stir or set intentions in whatever drink you have or any other way you might use.

🔮Keep some snacks with you as a way to recharge. Being healthy physically helps you spiritually as well<3

🪐I got a bamboo candle I will keep with me as I study. Scented candle for studies are a great option for both self love and spiritually.

🔮Crochet keychain or study buddy with intention at home. This is both knot magic and art magic.

🪐If you have fidget toys with you, you can enchant those too. For example for stress relief, better focus etc!
