#why custom software development is important

About Sims 4 Mod Manager
Tumblr media
It came to my attention a few days ago that a popular program used for sorting custom content, Sims 4 Mod Manager, is based on Overwolf software. The issue with this is that ad placements on Overwolf programs give a 20-30% cut to Overwolf directly. As stated on their website. I know it is an Overwolf program because you can find Overwolf files within it:
Tumblr media
Personally, I do not mind un-obstructive ads on free programs as long as they are vetted by the developer, but I do not want to give Overwolf any money. So I will be kindly contacting the developer via the contacts on his website and ask he divest and use a different avenue with the ads. Maybe moving to github instead. He is also recently released a curseforge integrated app.
If you are to request the divestment, please please do so with respect as to invite people INTO the conversation and not put them in a defensive position. No one likes to listen when they are being threatened or harassed. 🤷‍♀️
I know many will be disappointed with this news as it is a great, one of a kind program, so I wanted to offer some alternative methods besides manually sorting custom content:
Sims 4 Mod Assistant: A small app used to find duplicates and mod conflicts. Also supports filtering and moving files to other folders. Available on Mod the Sims and Github.
S4Pavir: It's not that pretty, but it can be used to view, remove, and sort cc. Available on Github.
You can also use sims tray importer to sort through cc. Dress your sims in all the cc you want to remove or place build/buy items on a lot. Save the sim/lot to your library and use Sims 4 tray importer to view the list of cc used, and open its file location to delete. Available on Luniversims (.fr)
Sims 4 Studio can also be used to view, edit, and delete cc. Available here.
Let me know of any other methods you know or notify me if there are any issues with these two programs.
Hopefully there is a positive outcome with reaching out to the creator. Please be respectful and you can use my pinned post as a reference for why curseforge is a problem. 🙏
Edit:
Update on Sims 4 Mod Manager
After going through the older versions of Sims 4 mod manager I have found out that Version 1.0.9 Beta (Windows 10, 11 for me) does not have Curseforge ads. I think this is suitable option to use the mod manager without giving direct ad revenue to Overwolf/Curseforge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you go to the Sims 4 Mod Manager site, click other versions and scroll until you find this version. It does not have all the current features, but it works. You can uninstall your current version by searching the app in your start menu (Windows), right click and select 'uninstall', and click 'uninstall' again once you find it in the list that comes up.
(I do not have Mac, so I do not know if the later version 1.1.3 Beta, will also not have ads. If you download it please let me know.) I will update my original S4MM post with this info and also put it in a reblog so hopefully everyone can see this.)
It doesn't have the sort to subfolders option, but my way around that is to sort cc into a "moving folder" and then open your regular file explorer and cut and paste those items to your sub-folder manually. Easy peasy!

Why enshittification happens and how to stop it.
The enshittification of the internet and increasingly the software we use to access it is driven by profit. It happens because corporations are machines for making profits from end users, the users and customers are only seen as sources of profits. Their interests are only considered if it can help the bottom line. It's capitalism.
For social media it's users are mainly seen by the companies that run the sites as a way for getting advertisers to pay money that can profit the shareholders. And social media is in a bit of death spiral right now, since they have seldom or never been profitable and investor money is drying up as they realize this.
So the social media companies. are getting more and more desperate for money. That's why they are getting more aggressive with getting you to watch ads or pay for the privilege of not watching ads. It won't work and tumblr and all the other sites will die eventually.
But it's not just social media companies, it's everything tech-related. It gets worse the more monopolistic a tech giant is. Google is abusing its chrome-based near monopoly over the web, nerfing adblockers, trying to drm the web, you name it. And Microsoft is famously a terrible company, spying on Windows users and selling their data. Again, there is so much money being poured into advertising, at least 493 billion globally, the tech giants want a slice of that massive pie. It's all about making profits for shareholders, people be damned.
And the only insurance against this death spiral is not being run by a corporation. If the software is being developed by a non-profit entity, and it's open source, there is no incentive for the developers to fuck over the users for the sake of profits for shareholders, because there aren't any profits, and no shareholders.
Free and Open source software is an important part of why such software development can stay non-corporate. It allows for volunteers to contribute to the code and makes it harder for users to be secretly be fucked over by hidden code.
Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird are good examples of this. There is a Mozilla corporation, but it exists only for legal reasons and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the non-profit Mozilla foundation. There are no shareholders. That means the Mozilla corporation is not really a corporation in the sense that Google is, and as an organization has entirely different incentives. If someone tells you that Mozilla is just another corporation, (which people have said in the notes of posts about firefox on this very site) they are spreading misinformation.
That's why Firefox has resisted the enshittification of the internet so well, it's not profit driven. And people who develop useful plugins that deshitify the web like Ublock origin and Xkit are as a rule not profit-driven corporations.
And you can go on with other examples of non-profit software like Libreoffice and VLC media player, both of which you should use.
And you can go further, use Linux as your computer's operating system.. It's the only way to resist the enshitification that the corporate duopoly of Microsoft and Apple has brought to their operating system. The plethora of community-run non-profit Linux distributions like Debian, Mint and Arch are the way to counteract that, and they will stay resistant to the same forces (creating profit for shareholders) that drove Microsoft to create Windows 11.
Of course not all Linux distributions are non-profits. There are corporate created distros like Red Hat's various distros, Canonical's Ubuntu and Suse's Opensuse, and they prove the point I'm making. There has some degree of enshittification going on with those, red hat going closed source and Canonical with the snap store for example. Mint is by now a succesful community-driven response to deshitify Ubuntu by removing snaps for example, and even they have a back-up plan to use Debian as a base in case Canonical makes Ubuntu unuseable.
As for social media, which I started with, I'm going to stay on tumblr for now, but it will definitely die. The closest thing to a community run non-profit replacement I can see is Mastodon, which I'm on as @[email protected].
You don't have to keep using corporate software, and have it inevitably decline because the corporations that develop it cares more about its profits than you as an end user.
The process of enshittification proves that corporations being profit-driven don't mean they will create a better product, and in fact may cause them to do the opposite. And the existence of great free and open source software, created entirely without the motivation of corporate profits, proves that people don't need to profit in order to help their fellow human beings. It kinda makes you question capitalism.

Pixel Yinglets v0.95 for VRChat! Now available!
Hiya, folks! I've been hard at work the last few weeks making my own yinglet base for VRChat from scratch. Details after the jump!
You can buy it if you like, BUT bear these things in mind first!
1. My yinglets' arms are close to the limb proportions you find in the yinglets of Out-of-Placers, meaning forearms are 2x as long as biceps; it was very important to me that I not compromise on this. For rigging this uncommon setup on PC, controller position is mapped to a point halfway down the forearm instead of on the model's hand, and because of that the model's hands are further out than your own. However, there's a tradeoff: grabbed items snap to the forearm controller position instead of to the hand, and hands/fingers do not move on Quest (this is why I do not recommend Quest-only users buy it for themselves). I have not found a way around this that keeps the proportions and improved elbow IK intact, but I've personally used this solution on my main model for over a year and have grown used to it. A public try-out base will be made available in the next few weeks so you can make a more informed decision; if you're on the fence, my advice is to wait until then rather than risk disappointment.
2. I haven't tried this with full-body tracking, so I wouldn't be surprised if this broke under those circumstances, but I aim to use the revenues from this to get a set of trackers and tweak the rig in this into something that works. This is going to be my main avatar as I continue to use VRChat on a weekly basis, any improvements I make to my own base will roll into the paid version.
3. This is my first paid base, and so some things are rough around the edges. I've made it entirely from scratch with free software (aside from a little bit of time in Aseprite), point-to-point modeling in Blender and painting in Krita; I bring all this up to say, if you'd like to support me beyond purchasing the base, five-starring it afterward and sharing this around to any interested parties would mean a lot. -v-
The yinglet species was created and developed in detail by Valsalia; it's fair to say at this point I owe a lot to the concept. Thanks, everyone. <3
I think that's it for now! I want to add a bunch of stuff to it, and enable all sorts of yinglet bases in VR (among other species), but for now, I'm breaking for a week, after which I'll polish what's here beyond "shippable" status before adding new features. With that out of the way, here's the purchase link:

HOW TO MAKE MONEY WHILE TRAVELLING THE WORLD
Tumblr media
HOW TO MAKE MONEY WHILE TRAVELLING THE WORLD
1) Freelance Work
The gig economy has made it easier than ever to find freelance jobs that can be done remotely from anywhere with an internet connection. Consider offering services like writing, virtual assisting, coding, graphic design, or consulting in your area of expertise.
Traveling the world and making money at the same time sounds like a dream, right? Thanks to the internet, this dream is now more achievable than ever. One of the best ways to fund your travels is by doing freelance work. Let’s dive into how you can get started and what kind of jobs you might want to consider.
Getting Started with Freelancing
First things first, you need to figure out what skills you have that you can offer as a service. Are you good at writing, designing, or coding? Maybe you’re great at organizing things and can work as a virtual assistant. Once you know your strengths, you can start looking for freelance jobs that match your skills.
There are many websites where you can find freelance gigs. Some of the popular ones include Upwork, Freelancer, and Fiverr. These platforms connect freelancers with clients looking for specific services. Creating a profile on these sites is usually free, but it’s important to make your profile stand out. Use a professional photo, write a clear and engaging description of your skills, and showcase your best work in your portfolio.
Types of Freelance Work
Here are some common types of freelance work that you can do while traveling:
Writing: If you have a knack for words, there are many opportunities for freelance writers. You can write blog posts, articles, website content, and even eBooks. Clients pay well for quality writing, and all you need is your laptop and some creativity.
Virtual Assisting: As a virtual assistant, you can help businesses with tasks like email management, scheduling, social media management, and customer service. It’s a great way to use your organizational skills while traveling.
Coding and Web Development: If you know how to code, there are plenty of freelance jobs in web development, app development, and software programming. These jobs often pay well and can be done from anywhere.
Graphic Design: Designers are always in demand. Whether it’s creating logos, website designs, or marketing materials, if you have an eye for design and the right software, you can make a good living as a freelance graphic designer.
Consulting: If you’re an expert in a particular field, consider offering consulting services. Businesses are willing to pay for expert advice in areas like marketing, business strategy, and technology.
Finding Clients and Getting Paid
Finding clients might take some time, especially if you’re just starting out. Start by reaching out to your network and letting people know you’re available for freelance work. You can also join online communities and forums related to your field. Building relationships and getting referrals is a great way to find clients.
When it comes to getting paid, make sure you agree on the terms before starting any work. Use contracts to outline the scope of the project, deadlines, and payment details. Most freelance platforms have secure payment systems, but if you’re working directly with clients, tools like PayPal and TransferWise can help you get paid quickly and safely.
Balancing Work and Travel
One of the biggest challenges of being a digital nomad is finding the right balance between work and travel. It’s important to set a schedule that allows you to meet your work deadlines while still enjoying your travel experiences. Find quiet and comfortable places to work, like co-working spaces or cafes with good Wi-Fi. And don’t forget to take breaks and explore the places you’re visiting – after all, that’s why you’re traveling!
Conclusion
Freelancing is a fantastic way to make money while traveling the world. With the right skills and a bit of effort, you can find freelance work that fits your lifestyle and allows you to enjoy the freedom of being a digital nomad. So pack your bags, grab your laptop, and start your adventure – the world is waiting for you!
2) Teach English Online
If you’re a native English speaker, you already have a valuable skill that many people around the world want to learn. Teaching English online can be a flexible and rewarding job that fits perfectly with a travel lifestyle. Here’s how you can get started:
Choose a Platform: There are several companies that hire remote English teachers. Some of the most popular ones include VIPKID, DadaABC, and EF Education First. These companies provide the lesson plans and materials, so you don’t have to worry about creating your own curriculum. All you need is a computer, a stable internet connection, and a quiet place to teach.
Meet the Requirements: Most companies require you to have a bachelor’s degree and some teaching experience. However, the teaching experience can be flexible – it doesn’t always have to be formal classroom experience. Volunteer work, tutoring, or even coaching can count. Additionally, having a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification can make you a more attractive candidate.
Apply and Interview: Once you’ve chosen a platform, you’ll need to fill out an application and go through an interview process. This usually includes a demo lesson where you teach a sample class. Don’t worry if you’re nervous – these companies provide training and support to help you succeed.
What to Expect as an Online English Teacher
Teaching English online can be a very rewarding experience. You get to interact with students from different cultures and help them improve their English skills. Here’s what you can expect from the job:
Flexible Schedule: One of the best things about teaching English online is the flexibility. You can often choose your own hours, which makes it easy to fit teaching around your travel plans. However, keep in mind that your students might be in different time zones, so you may need to adjust your schedule accordingly.
Good Pay: The pay for online English teaching can be quite good, especially if you work with a reputable company. On average, you can expect to earn between $15 to $25 per hour. Some companies also offer bonuses for good performance or for teaching during peak hours.
Prepared Lessons: Most online teaching platforms provide lesson plans and teaching materials. This means you can focus on delivering the lessons rather than spending time preparing them. It also makes it easier to get started, even if you’re new to teaching.
Tips for Success
To be a successful online English teacher, here are a few tips:
Create a Good Teaching Environment: Make sure you have a quiet, well-lit space to teach from. A good headset with a microphone and a stable internet connection are essential. Some companies might also require a background that’s free of distractions.
Engage with Your Students: Building a good rapport with your students is key. Be enthusiastic, patient, and encouraging. Use props and visual aids to make your lessons more engaging and fun.
Be Reliable: Show up on time for your classes and be prepared. Reliability is important in building a good reputation with both your students and the platform you’re working for.
Conclusion
Teaching English online is a fantastic way to make money while traveling the world. With the right approach and a bit of preparation, you can start teaching and earning from anywhere. So if you’re a native English speaker looking for a flexible job that lets you see the world, give online teaching a try. It’s a great way to share your knowledge, meet new people, and fund your travels.
3) Monetize Your Blog and Social Media
If you love sharing your travel experiences, tips, and stories, why not turn that passion into a source of income? Here’s how you can get started:
Build Your Audience: The first step is to grow your blog or social media following. Share interesting and high-quality content regularly. Whether it's beautiful photos on Instagram, engaging videos on YouTube, or detailed travel guides on your blog, make sure your content adds value to your audience. Interact with your followers by responding to comments and messages, and use hashtags and keywords to reach a wider audience.
Choose Your Monetization Methods: There are several ways to make money from your blog or social media:
Affiliate Marketing: Promote products or services and earn a commission for every sale made through your referral link. For example, you can recommend travel gear, booking services, or online courses. Many companies offer affiliate programs that you can join.
Sponsored Posts: Companies pay you to write posts or create content that promotes their products or services. This can be a blog post, an Instagram story, or a YouTube video. Make sure to disclose any sponsored content to your audience to maintain transparency and trust.
Selling Digital Products: Create and sell digital products like e-books, travel guides, or online courses. If you’re an expert in a particular area, share your knowledge through well-crafted products that your audience will find useful.
Consulting Services: Offer consulting services in your area of expertise. If you’re a travel expert, you could offer personalized travel planning services. If you’re skilled in social media, offer advice to businesses or individuals looking to grow their own following.
Use the Right Tools: To effectively monetize your blog or social media, you need the right tools. Use analytics tools to understand what content resonates most with your audience. Platforms like Google Analytics for your blog, and Instagram or YouTube analytics for social media, can provide valuable insights. For affiliate marketing, platforms like Amazon Associates, ShareASale, or Commission Junction can help you find affiliate programs.
Tips for Success
To successfully monetize your blog or social media, here are a few tips:
Stay Authentic: Your audience follows you because they like your content and trust your recommendations. Stay true to your voice and only promote products or services you genuinely believe in. Authenticity is key to building a loyal following.
Engage with Your Audience: Regularly interact with your followers. Respond to comments, answer questions, and thank them for their support. Building a community around your content will make your audience more loyal and engaged.
Be Patient: Monetizing your blog or social media takes time. It’s important to stay consistent and patient. Keep creating quality content and engaging with your audience, and over time, your efforts will pay off.
Conclusion
Monetizing your blog or social media is a fantastic way to make money while traveling the world. With dedication and the right strategies, you can turn your passion for travel and sharing into a source of income. So start building your audience, explore different monetization methods, and enjoy the freedom of earning money from anywhere. The world is your playground – and your office!
4) Rent Out Your Home
If you’re planning to be away for a while, renting out your home can be a great way to earn some extra cash. Here’s how you can get started:
Choose a Platform: There are several websites where you can list your home for rent. Some of the most popular ones include Airbnb, VRBO, and HomeAway. These platforms make it easy to connect with people looking for a place to stay.
Prepare Your Home: Before you list your home, make sure it’s clean and well-maintained. Remove any personal items and valuables. Consider adding some nice touches like fresh linens, toiletries, and a welcome guide with information about your home and the local area. Good photos are crucial, so take high-quality pictures of each room to make your listing stand out.
Set Your Price: Research similar listings in your area to get an idea of what to charge. Consider factors like location, amenities, and the time of year. You want to set a competitive price that will attract guests but also ensure you’re making a decent income.
Understanding Legal Regulations
Before you start renting out your home, it’s important to understand the legal regulations in your area. Here are a few things to consider:
Check Local Laws: Some cities have specific rules about short-term rentals. You may need a permit or license, and there could be limits on how many days per year you can rent out your home. Check with your local government to find out what’s required.
Homeowners Association (HOA) Rules: If you live in a community with an HOA, make sure you understand their rules regarding rentals. Some HOAs have restrictions or require approval before you can rent out your property.
Insurance: Contact your home insurance provider to make sure you’re covered for short-term rentals. Some companies offer specific policies or riders for this purpose. It’s important to be fully protected in case of any damage or accidents.
Managing Your Rental
Once your home is listed and you have guests booked, managing your rental effectively is key to ensuring a smooth experience:
Communication: Be responsive to inquiries and communicate clearly with your guests. Provide them with all the information they need for a comfortable stay.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Arrange for regular cleaning and maintenance to keep your home in top condition. You might want to hire a property manager or cleaning service to take care of this while you’re away.
Reviews: Encourage your guests to leave reviews after their stay. Positive reviews will help attract more guests and can boost your listing’s visibility on rental platforms.
Conclusion
Renting out your home while you’re traveling is a fantastic way to make money and offset your travel expenses. With the right preparation and understanding of local regulations, you can turn your empty home into a source of income. So, if you’re planning to be away for a while, consider listing your home on a rental platform and enjoy the extra cash while you explore the world.
5) Work at a Hostel
Hey, here’s a cool way to save money on accommodation while you travel and even earn a bit on the side – working at a hostel! Yep, you read that right. Some hostels are happy to trade a bed and maybe a little cash for a bit of your time. Let’s dive into how this works.
Getting Started with Hostel Work
So, here’s the deal: You find a hostel you like and ask if they need any help. Often, they’re looking for people to do stuff like checking in guests, keeping things tidy, or leading tours. In exchange, they give you a bed to sleep in and sometimes a bit of spending money.
What You Might Do
What exactly you’ll be doing depends on the hostel. It could be anything from helping out at the reception desk to giving city tours to guests. Some might want you to do a bit of cleaning or help out with events they’re hosting. It’s usually pretty flexible, and you’ll have time to explore the area too.
Perks of Hostel Work
One of the best things about working at a hostel is the free accommodation. You get a place to sleep without having to fork out money for a hotel or Airbnb. Plus, you get to meet tons of cool people from all over the world. It’s like having instant friends wherever you go!
How to Find Hostel Jobs
Finding hostel jobs is pretty straightforward. Just pop into hostels you like and ask if they’re hiring. You can also check out hostel job boards online or on social media. Some websites list hostel jobs in different countries, so you can plan ahead if you’re traveling long-term.
Things to Keep in Mind
While working at a hostel can be fun and rewarding, there are a few things to consider:
Hours and Duties: Make sure you understand what’s expected of you in terms of hours and duties. You don’t want to end up working more than you bargained for or doing tasks you’re not comfortable with.
Accommodation Quality: Hostel accommodation can vary widely, so it’s a good idea to check out reviews or ask other travelers about the hostel before you agree to work there. You want to make sure you’ll be comfortable during your stay.
Legal Stuff: Depending on where you are, there might be rules about working in a foreign country. Make sure you’re allowed to work there legally and that you understand any visa or permit requirements.
Conclusion
Working at a hostel is a great way to save money on accommodation while traveling and meet new people along the way. Whether you’re looking for a short-term gig or a longer-term arrangement, there are plenty of opportunities out there. So next time you’re planning a trip, consider reaching out to hostels in your destination – you might just find your next adventure waiting for you!
6) Sell Products from Your Travels
If you have an eye for finding unique, handmade items during your travels, you can sell them online via a platform like Etsy or at local markets. Everything from jewelry to artwork to textiles can find buyers.
How to Sell Your Travel Treasures
Okay, so here’s the deal: You’re traveling, right? And you come across these amazing handmade items – maybe it’s some beautiful jewelry, a stunning piece of artwork, or some unique textiles. You think to yourself, “Hey, I bet someone back home would love this!” And you’re probably right!
Where to Sell Them
There are a couple of ways you can sell your travel treasures:
Online Platforms: Websites like Etsy are perfect for selling handmade and unique items. You can set up your own shop and reach customers from all over the world. Plus, it’s super easy to get started.
Local Markets: If you’re more of a people person, you might enjoy selling your items at local markets or craft fairs. It’s a great way to interact with customers face-to-face and get instant feedback on your products.
Tips for Selling Successfully
Here are a few tips to help you sell your travel treasures like a pro:
Good Photos: People buy with their eyes, so make sure your photos are top-notch. Take clear, well-lit pictures that show off your items from all angles. This will help attract more buyers and make your products look more appealing.
Detailed Descriptions: Be sure to write detailed descriptions of your items, including things like size, materials, and any special features. The more information you provide, the easier it will be for buyers to make a decision.
Reasonable Prices: Do a bit of research to see what similar items are selling for. You don’t want to price yourself out of the market, but you also don’t want to sell yourself short. Find a balance that works for you and your customers.
Conclusion
Selling products from your travels is a fun and creative way to make some extra money while you’re on the road. Whether you’re into jewelry, artwork, textiles, or something else entirely, there’s a market out there for your unique finds. So next time you’re traveling, keep an eye out for those special treasures – they could be worth more than you think!
7) Work on a Farm or Ranch
Hey, here’s another cool way to score free room and board while you travel – working on a farm or ranch! Yep, you read that right. Some places are happy to give you a place to stay in exchange for a bit of help with the chores. Let’s dig into how this works.
How Farm and Ranch Work Exchange Works
Alright, so picture this: You’re out in the countryside, surrounded by fields and animals. And you find a farm or ranch that needs some extra hands. They offer you a bed and meals in exchange for helping out with things like feeding animals, planting crops, or doing repairs around the property.
Where to Find Farm and Ranch Opportunities
Finding these kinds of gigs is pretty easy, thanks to websites like WorldWideWorkers and HelpX. These sites connect travelers with farms and ranches all over the world that are looking for help. You can search for opportunities based on location, type of work, and duration of stay.
What You Might Do
The kind of work you’ll be doing varies depending on the farm or ranch. It could be anything from milking cows to harvesting vegetables to mending fences. One day you might be herding sheep, and the next you might be helping with a hay harvest. It’s usually pretty hands-on, but it’s a great way to learn new skills and experience life in the countryside.
Perks of Farm and Ranch Work
One of the best things about working on a farm or ranch is the opportunity to get back to nature and experience a different way of life. You’ll be living and working in beautiful rural settings, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Plus, you’ll get to meet all kinds of interesting people – both fellow travelers and locals.
Things to Keep in Mind
While working on a farm or ranch can be a rewarding experience, there are a few things to consider:
Physical Demands: Farm work can be tough, physical labor. Make sure you’re prepared for long hours, outdoor work, and potentially challenging conditions.
Living Arrangements: Accommodations on farms and ranches can vary widely. You might be staying in a cozy farmhouse with a private room, or you might be bunking in a rustic cabin with other workers. Be sure to ask about living arrangements before you agree to anything.
Language and Culture: If you’re working in a foreign country, you might encounter language barriers and cultural differences. Take the time to learn a few basic phrases in the local language and be respectful of the customs and traditions of the place you’re visiting.
Conclusion
Working on a farm or ranch is a unique and rewarding way to travel the world on a budget. Whether you’re a city slicker looking to try something new or a nature lover craving sometime in the great outdoors, there’s a farm or ranch out there waiting for you. So next time you’re planning a trip, consider adding a farm stay to your itinerary – you won’t regret it!
8) Become a Local Tour Guide
If you know a place like the back of your hand and love showing it off to others, this could be the perfect gig for you. Let’s dive into how you can get started.
Why Become a Local Tour Guide?
Alright, picture this: You’re in a city you know like the back of your hand. You know all the best spots – the hidden gems, the local hangouts, the secret viewpoints. And you love sharing your knowledge with others. Becoming a local tour guide lets you do just that, while also making some money on the side. It’s a win-win!
How to Get Started
Getting started as a local tour guide is easier than you might think. Here’s what you need to do:
Know Your Stuff: First things first, you need to know the place you’re guiding like the back of your hand. Do some research, brush up on the history and culture, and make sure you know all the best spots to take your guests.
Create Your Tour: Think about what kind of tour you want to offer. It could be a walking tour of the city center, a food tour of the best local eateries, or a day trip to nearby attractions. Get creative and tailor your tour to your interests and expertise.
List Your Services: Once you’ve got your tour planned out, it’s time to list your services. There are plenty of sharing economy sites like TourByLocal or TourGuidePro where you can create a profile and list your tours. Be sure to include details like what your tour covers, how long it lasts, and how much it costs.
Tips for Success
To be a successful local tour guide, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
Be Passionate: People are drawn to passionate tour guides who genuinely love what they do. Let your enthusiasm for the place you’re guiding shine through and your guests will have a fantastic experience.
Be Flexible: Be prepared to adapt your tour based on the interests and preferences of your guests. Some might be interested in history, while others might be more into food or shopping. Tailor your tour to suit their needs and make sure everyone has a great time.
Provide Excellent Customer Service: From the moment your guests book your tour to the end of the experience, provide excellent customer service. Be friendly, professional, and attentive to their needs. A positive experience will lead to glowing reviews and repeat business.
Conclusion
Becoming a local tour guide is a fun and rewarding way to make money while sharing your love for travel with others. Whether you’re showing off your hometown or a place you’ve fallen in love with on your travels, there’s nothing quite like guiding others through new and exciting experiences. So, if you’re passionate about travel and love meeting new people, why not give it a try? Who knows, it could be the start of a whole new adventure!
“ Alright, let’s wrap it up! We’ve covered a bunch of awesome ways to earn some cash while you’re out there exploring the world. Whether you’re a freelancer, a blogger, or just someone who loves to travel, there’s something here for everyone.
So, let’s recap: You can hop on the gig economy train and snag some freelance gigs from anywhere with an internet connection. Teaching English online is another solid option if you’re a native speaker. And hey, if you’ve got a blog or a decent following on social media, why not turn that into some extra dough?
If you’ve got a place back home, you can rent it out while you’re away – just make sure you’re following all the rules. And if you’re staying in hostels, why not work there a bit in exchange for a free bed? It’s a win-win!
But wait, there’s more! You can sell those cool souvenirs you pick up along the way, or even work on a farm or ranch for room and board. And if you know a place like the back of your hand, why not become a tour guide and show others around?
The bottom line is, there are tons of ways to make money while you travel – you just gotta get a little creative and hustle a bit. So next time you’re planning a trip, keep these ideas in mind. Who knows, you might just fund your entire adventure! “

Successful software development projects require a combination of key elements to ensure that they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the desired requirements. These elements form the foundation of a well-executed project and are instrumental in the overall success of the software development process.
First and foremost, clear communication is crucial. The project team must have open lines of communication with the client and stakeholders to fully understand their requirements and expectations. Regular meetings and updates should be scheduled to ensure that everyone is on the same page throughout the development process.
Second, proper planning is essential. A comprehensive project plan should be created, outlining the scope, timeline, and resources required. This plan serves as a roadmap for the development team and helps them stay organized and focused on the project goals. It is also important to identify potential risks and establish contingency plans to mitigate any issues that may arise.
Third, a talented and dedicated team is key to the success of any software development project. Each team member should possess the necessary skills and expertise in their respective roles to ensure that the project progresses smoothly. Collaboration and teamwork are crucial in delivering high-quality software that meets the required standards.

They utilize the latest technologies and programming languages to create powerfully built and scalable software that aligns with industry standards. Their team follows an agile development methodology, ensuring that your software is delivered on time and within budget.
Key Steps in the Software Development Process for Success
Software development is a complex process that involves several key steps to ensure success. These steps are crucial in delivering high-quality software that meets the needs and expectations of clients and end-users. The first step is requirement gathering, where the project team works closely with the client to understand their goals, objectives, and desired functionalities. This helps in setting clear expectations and ensures that the software solution aligns with the client's requirements.
Once the requirements are defined, the next step is to design the software architecture. This involves creating a blueprint that outlines the overall structure, components, and interactions of the software system. The architecture should be scalable, maintainable, and flexible to accommodate future enhancements and changes. A well-designed architecture lays the foundation for a successful software development process.
After the architecture is finalized, the developers start coding the software. This step involves translating the design into actual code using programming languages and frameworks. It is essential to follow coding best practices, maintain a clean codebase, and conduct regular code reviews to ensure quality and minimize errors. Thorough testing is also crucial during this stage to identify and fix any bugs or issues before the software is deployed.
Trends and Innovations in the World of Software Development
One of the major trends in software development is the rise of low-code and no-code platforms. These platforms allow developers to create applications with minimal coding knowledge, significantly reducing development time and costs. This trend has opened up new opportunities for businesses that may not have the resources or expertise to develop complex software in-house.
Another trend in software development is the focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). With the advancements in AI and ML technologies, software applications are becoming smarter, more efficient, and capable of providing personalized experiences to users. From chatbots that can handle customer queries to recommendation systems that suggest relevant content, AI and ML are reshaping the way software is developed and utilized.
Benefits of Outsourcing Software Development to Professionals like Sohojware
Outsourcing has become a common practice for businesses looking to optimize their operations and reduce costs. When it comes to software development, outsourcing to professionals like Sohojware can bring a multitude of benefits.
One of the key advantages of outsourcing software development is access to a highly skilled and experienced team of professionals. Companies like Sohojware specialize in software development and have a pool of talented individuals who are well-versed in the latest technologies and trends. This ensures that the software being developed is of high quality and meets the specific needs of the business.
Enhancing User Experience through Custom Software Development
One of the main advantages of custom software development is the ability to address the specific needs and requirements of users. Off-the-shelf software may not always meet the unique needs of a business, leading to frustration and inefficiency. Custom software development allows for a personalized approach, ensuring that the software aligns perfectly with the goals and operations of the organization. This level of customization not only increases user satisfaction but also improves productivity and streamlines workflows.
The Role of Agile Methodology in Modern Software Development Projects
Agile methodology has revolutionized the way software development projects are managed in the modern era. With its iterative and incremental approach, Agile methodology offers numerous benefits to software developers and programming teams.
One of the key advantages of Agile is its flexibility. Unlike traditional waterfall methods, Agile allows for constant adaptation and change throughout the development process. Software developers can respond quickly to new requirements or feedback, ensuring that the final product meets the evolving needs of users. This flexibility also enables developers to identify and address issues early on, reducing the risk of costly mistakes later in the project.
Measuring Success: Key Metrics for Evaluating Software Development Projects
One of the crucial metrics used by the Sohojware agency is the on-time delivery of projects. Meeting deadlines demonstrates the efficiency and professionalism of the team. Timely delivery ensures that the product reaches the market at the right time, allowing businesses to gain a competitive advantage.
Additionally, Sohojware tracks the quality metrics alongside delivery time. This includes detecting and resolving bugs and issues promptly, ensuring a flawless user experience.

They’ve fired close to 20 ppl at my job in the last 3 weeks including a senior manager. I do my job well but can’t help but feel nervous even after being told I’m safe (I’ve believed that lie before). Everyone is tense a distrustful.
Any advice on navigating this situation?
Make sure your work is visible, as in if there’s anything you’ve been doing on the low or anything you’ve slowly become the expert or go-to person on, draw attention to it. It’s as simple as saying things like “I’ve finished xyz” as if you just want to be accountable and transparent for everyone else’s sake.
The important thing to not be laid off is to be someone who can’t be lost, which means doing work that is invaluable. Things that are hard to onboard people into, knowledge that’s hard to transfer, etc. That does become easier the longer you’re at a job. Look for ways that your job impacts revenue, and always be ready to speak towards it. One of the reasons that marketing usually goes out the door first is that they spend a lot of money, and it’s only indirectly tied to revenue. The sweet spot is to be cheaper labor (in the grand scheme of things) while directly tied to revenue: I make sales, I create product, I shepherd the pipeline, I close invoices, etc. If you see an opening or need like that in your job, express interest in cross training. If you’ve been following the big tech cuts this year, they’re not gutting hourly workers who directly impact customer experience or tangible product creators, they’re firing middle management. That’s not to say being a manager is bad, but the hierarchy can get bloated in hearty times, and if there’s a supervisor, then a lead, then a senior lead, then a manager, then a director, in hard times the question is “why can’t the supervisor answer to the director? Why do we have so many people in this chain?” especially as those middle management positions getting further from the day-to-day yet not quite in business development decision making positions. So you have to ask yourself, what value are you bringing the organization? How much can you speak towards boots-on-the-ground tasks of the day to day that makes money for the company? Make sure you don’t lose sight of that as you move up or even laterally.
As an example: say you work for a software manufacturer, and support calls that come in get logged into tickets that are then charged back to the clients who buy the software for their company. If you are picking up phone calls and logging tickets, you’re grunt work but you’re doing billable work, the company doesn’t want to lose too many of those people. Let’s say there are supervisors to these people, that also take support calls but only half the time bc they’re managing everyone’s breaks, stepping into thorny calls, doing hands on training and mentoring, doing operations stuff no one really wants to do like proofread tickets and compiling metrics, but these are things the clients ask for so it’s important to maintaining those relationships. Now let’s say there are two managers to this group, and neither of them take support calls, they don’t do any billable work, but one has been doing the bulk of liasioning with clients while the other is spending a lot of time approving time off and making spreadsheets from the metrics the supervisors pull and has been handing off some of the client communications to his colleague or even some of the supervisors directly under him. If both these managers are getting paid the same, he’s at the most risk bc the question becomes how do we consolidate non-billable work under fewer salaries - “can no one else learn to do these spreadsheets? Can manager #1 not do all the time off requests?”
The other advice is to not panic. :) Every day you work at this job is a day to squeeze it for what it’s worth for YOUR benefit. If your job needs to do a round of lay-offs now, it might be worth it to ask yourself instead of “am I safe?” to “is this company surviving long term?” and make whatever maneuvers you need to make to get a job with more security. Good luck!!

6 Ways To Enhance Your Conversion Rate Right Now
Gaining more conversions is vitally essential. High sales volume is based on having a good conversion rate.
First things first: Your website requires a goal
When I analyze websites, I question people about their top business objective or the key action they want visitors to perform.
Why? A website's effectiveness in attaining a goal is the only metric you can use to judge it. There is no way to enhance the website if you don't have a purpose. Just what can be measured may be improved.
Some individuals claim that they want people to "read about their stuff." No. It is not an aim for business.
A goal you should pursue is taking an action other than reading, such as signing up, buying, clicking something, or placing an order.
You need a new aim if your objective is for visitors to read the information on your website.
Connect with Exlval right away if you want to learn conversion optimization and analytics. Here are 6 things you can do right away if you're interested:
Perform A/B Testing
With real estate, location, location, location is everything. It's all about testing in conversion optimization. The best strategy to reduce risk in decision-making while giving your creative teams the opportunity for innovation and the discovery of new prospects is through experimentation.
A/B testing, often known as split testing, is a method for improving your website's conversion rate—or, more specifically, its capacity to convert visitors into paying customers. You could conduct an A/B split test to discover which headline performs better if you had two options for your page's headlines and weren't sure which one to utilize.
You designate a distinct headline for each of your two alternate pages (page A and page B). Software used for A/B testing sends 50% of incoming traffic to page A and 50% to page B. There is a call to action on both pages, and you count how many people responded by the end.
Tumblr media
The web page that generates the most conversions—more actions—wins.
Your objective should be to always have at least one, and ideally multiple, A/B tests active on your website. When it comes to marketing, website design, or product development, there is no such thing as "perfect," and the only way to discover what does and doesn't work is to constantly test new ideas.
Ascertaining what to test
Typically, marketers make educated guesses about which variables to emphasise and waste time testing items that don't significantly affect users or conversion objectives. Instead, you should identify the most crucial initiatives to concentrate on using the data at your disposal.
You'll have varied amounts of data at your disposal depending on the stage of your business and the structure of your organisation. Some businesses are drowning in data and are unsure of what to do with it. Some people are having difficulty implementing Events in Google Analytics.
Not to worry. We created a model that any business may use to investigate and examine data (qualitative and quantitative) to generate countless test hypotheses. It is known as ResearchXL.
Consider the potential money that each test could generate as well as the resources needed to get it online before ranking them in order of importance. Despite the fact that there are other prioritizing models available, we developed the PXL model exclusively for CRO initiatives. It scores on a binary model (it is either true or false) and prioritizes based on empirical facts. This greatly reduces subjectivity.
One hypothesis must be tested at a time in order to identify the alteration that created a difference.
On average, some website elements have greater effects than other website elements. When you first start off, pay attention to the following in addition to what the data indicates:
The Headline. A compelling, persuading, and realistic title should be used to highlight the main offer. According to David Ogilvy, the father of modern advertising, "On average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body material. Hence, 80% of your money will be lost if the product in your headline isn't sold.
Navigation and page design.
The proposal What the consumer receives in exchange for their money (how is it all described and laid out).
Try using a video to deliver important points in a different format.
Drastic change There are occasions when you wish to contrast two very different strategies.
How to conduct tests
Before knowing how to use a conversion rate optimization technique, many business owners spend money on pricey testing software. There isn't a lot of money required.
Free to use Google Optimize. The drawback is that it has restrictions, like the inability to target certain device categories and the ability to run just three tests at once.
Check out Optimizely if you're a mid-market to enterprise-sized business; according to VWO, it's the simplest. They have comparable prices.
You should test if there is enough traffic. It probably isn't worth your time if there isn't enough traffic because the outcomes will be uncertain. Nonetheless, there are things you can do to optimize conversions even in low-traffic areas.
Testing ought to go on forever. After you have a successful page, try to expand on it and test new ideas.
Positive changes that happen gradually result in significant growth.
Form a  compelling and unambiguous value proposition
The value proposition is the most significant conversion factor because it determines the potential of your conversion rate.
When the initial step should be concentrating on enhancing their value propositions, many marketers attempt to boost outcomes by changing page elements like font colors and sizes, button shapes, graphics, incentives, and so on.
You're missing out if the only thing on your home page or product page is "Welcome!" or the name of your business or the item. Keep in mind that the value proposition for your business and your product are different. Both must be addressed.
What forms a good value proposition?
It must stand out from the offerings of your rivals.
On all aspects of worth except one, you can match a rival. You must be exceptional in at least one area of value (key important factor for the buyer).
It takes a lot of thought to develop a value proposition, so consider what makes your business, products, and services stand out. To get the best outcomes, a compelling value proposition must also be properly presented. Your value proposition needs to be improved until you can state it succinctly and with instant credibility.
No matter how diligently you craft your value proposition, you must test it with your ideal prospect to determine its genuine effectiveness. The process of identifying, expressing, and testing/measuring value propositions is ongoing. Apply A/B testing to the task.
Establish a sales channel
Sometimes asking for the sale (or signup, or anything) too soon is what kills your conversions. Individuals may not be psychologically prepared, "just browsing," or in a rush to make a purchase right now.
People need more time before making a decision the more expensive and/or sophisticated the product is.
As it has been said before, sometimes delivering a demo or a free trial instead of requesting a signup or purchase might bring about a huge improvement in conversions for software products. Yet often, all you need to do is take your time and create a sales funnel in order to establish relationships, gain trust, and establish your expertise.
Cut the jargon
Always, clarity prevails over persuasion.
I recently came across a website that claimed to "unleash collaboration throughout the revenue cycle with its revenue-focused marketing automation and sales performance solutions”.
Why does that matter? Could you now elaborate on what they do and how it benefits you? No, not really.
Avoid attempting to win them over with flowery, intricate business lingo; it never succeeds.
They read your website because you write for them. Even purchasing managers and marketing directors are humans. Write for people, not for businesses.
I observe that marketers frequently struggle with clarity. Consider discussing your product to a close friend while you rephrase all of the marketing jargon on your website. Rephrase any sentences that are written in a way that you wouldn't use in a friendly chat. Write like you talk, as Paul Graham advised.
Discuss any concerns
Every time someone reads your offer, there will be conflict. They will be hesitant to accept the offer and will have some conscious and unconscious objections to what you are expressing.
It's easier to find out about hesitations and concerns during in-person sales and address them than it is during Internet transactions. The answer is to stop such things from happening by immediately addressing any potential problems in your sales copy.
Make a list of all the probable qualms and objections that your potential clients might have as a first step.  Step two, to eliminate those concerns, add info to the sales copy. The list could involve things like –
You do not acknowledge my issue ( Explain the issues that is solved by your product)
Why should I trust you ( Demonstrate your awards, experiences, and others)
It's not worth the money because there are less expensive options available (explain your price, evaluate the competition, demonstrate the benefits your product provides),
… and so on. It's crucial to create the longest list you can. Ask for outside opinions, conduct user testing, and ask your consumers to identify any potential concerns they may have.
Use on-site surveys to identify visitor annoyances as a bonus tip. In this method, you can actually interact with visitors to your website and gain their comments as they use it.
Don't be distracted
It's a major deal. You want individuals to pay attention to one action at a time and avoid being sidetracked.
Exist any elements on the page that can distract the user from the intended goal?
Your visitors are less likely to convert if they have to comprehend a lot of visual information and action options. The conversion rate will go up if there are fewer distractions, such as unused product selections, links, and irrelevant information.
Anything that is unrelated to visitors taking action should be removed or minimized from your landing pages and product pages.
Reduce or do away with the menu.
Remove sidebars and large headers.
Remove any pointless (stock) photos.
Consider making navigation unavailable on landing pages.
Consider whether there is anything else you might remove from the page that isn't helping with conversions.
Conclusion
Your marketing ROI will increase if you can raise conversion rates. The greater the influence existing traffic has on your top line, the more visitors you convert. To strategically increase your conversion rates, you can start by implementing the aforementioned strategies. Connect with Exlval in order to get more information.

The Secret Guide to Find the Best Intellectual Property Lawyer
In today's rapidly evolving world, intellectual property (IP) has become a valuable and fiercely protected asset. Whether you're a creative artist, a tech startup, or an established corporation, your ideas, inventions, and innovations deserve safeguarding. This is where intellectual property lawyers come into play. In this article, we'll explore the critical role of intellectual property lawyers and why their expertise is indispensable in an era of creativity and innovation.
Tumblr media
Understanding Intellectual Property
Before we delve into the role of an intellectual property lawyer, it's essential to grasp what intellectual property encompasses. Intellectual property refers to the legal rights granted to individuals or entities over their creations or inventions. These creations can include:
Copyrightable Works: Such as literature, music, films, and software. Trademarks: Identifiers of goods or services that distinguish them from others. Patents: Exclusive rights to inventions, processes, and innovations. Trade Secrets: Proprietary information, like manufacturing processes, formulas, or customer lists.
The Vital Role of Intellectual Property Lawyers
Strategic Counsel: Intellectual property lawyers provide strategic guidance on how to protect your IP assets. They assess your unique needs and develop a customized plan to safeguard your creations.
IP Portfolio Management: For businesses, managing a portfolio of IP assets can be complex. Lawyers assist in organizing, maintaining, and enforcing these assets, ensuring they remain valuable assets.
Registration and Filing: Intellectual property lawyers are experts in filing and registering IP with the appropriate government authorities. This includes copyright registrations, trademark applications, and patent filings.
IP Enforcement: When someone infringes upon your intellectual property rights, an IP lawyer is your advocate. They can send cease-and-desist letters, negotiate settlements, or take legal action on your behalf.
Defensive Strategies: Intellectual property lawyers can help clients defend against allegations of IP infringement. They evaluate the claims, gather evidence, and develop a strong defense strategy.
Licensing and Contracts: Many IP owners license their rights to others. Lawyers negotiate and draft licensing agreements, ensuring that the terms protect the IP owner's interests.
Due Diligence: In mergers, acquisitions, or investments, intellectual property lawyers conduct due diligence to assess the value and risks associated with IP assets.
Challenges in the Digital Age
In today's digital age, the protection of intellectual property faces unique challenges. The ease of copying and distributing digital content, the rise of online infringement, and the global nature of the internet have added complexity to IP issues. Intellectual property lawyers must adapt to these challenges by staying current on legal developments, cybersecurity threats, and international IP treaties.
The Importance of Early Action
One crucial aspect of intellectual property protection is early action. Waiting until an issue arises can be costly and limit your legal options. Intellectual property lawyers stress the importance of proactive protection. Whether you're an individual artist or a business entity, consulting with an IP lawyer early in the creative or innovative process can help you establish a strong foundation for protection.
Navigating International IP Law:
In our interconnected world, intellectual property often crosses international borders. Intellectual property lawyers are well-versed in international IP treaties and agreements. They can assist clients in protecting their IP rights globally, ensuring that innovations, trademarks, and copyrights are safeguarded in multiple jurisdictions.
IP Litigation and Enforcement:
When disputes over intellectual property arise, IP lawyers are prepared to advocate for their clients in legal proceedings. IP litigation can be complex, involving issues such as patent infringement, copyright disputes, or trademark challenges. Lawyers specializing in IP have the expertise to build strong cases and represent their clients effectively in court.
Emerging Technologies and IP:
As technology continues to advance, intellectual property lawyers are at the forefront of addressing novel challenges. This includes issues related to artificial intelligence, blockchain, virtual reality, and biotechnology. Lawyers work to ensure that innovators in these fields have adequate protection for their creations while also navigating the ethical and legal complexities that arise.
Digital Rights Management (DRM):
In the digital age, the protection of digital content is paramount. IP lawyers play a role in advising content creators and distributors on implementing DRM strategies to prevent unauthorized copying or distribution of digital assets.
Open Source and IP Licensing:
Open-source software and collaborative projects have become essential parts of the tech industry. Intellectual property lawyers help clients understand the intricacies of open-source licensing and ensure compliance with license terms when using open-source software in their projects.
Protection Against Counterfeiting and Piracy:
Counterfeiting and piracy remain significant threats to intellectual property rights. IP lawyers work with clients to develop strategies to combat counterfeit products and piracy in various industries, from fashion to pharmaceuticals.
Education and Awareness:
Intellectual property lawyers often play an educational role, helping clients understand the importance of IP protection. They can offer guidance on best practices for IP management within organizations, including employee training on IP issues.
Environmental Considerations:
In some cases, intellectual property intersects with environmental concerns. IP lawyers work with clients to protect environmentally sustainable innovations, such as clean energy technologies, and navigate IP issues related to environmental regulations and patents.
Ethical Considerations:
The ethical responsibilities of IP lawyers are multifaceted. They must uphold the highest ethical standards in their practice, ensuring confidentiality, avoiding conflicts of interest, and providing clients with honest and transparent advice. Ethical considerations are particularly important when dealing with sensitive matters such as trade secrets.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: Guardians of Innovation and Creativity
In a rapidly evolving world driven by innovation and creativity, intellectual property lawyers serve as essential guardians of the rights and interests of individuals, businesses, and organizations. They navigate complex legal landscapes, address emerging challenges in technology and digital media, and provide strategic guidance that allows innovators to thrive while protecting their valuable creations.
The role of an intellectual property lawyer extends beyond legal expertise; it encompasses a commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and the responsible management of intellectual assets. By collaborating with these legal professionals, individuals and entities can navigate the intricate terrain of intellectual property rights, secure their innovations, and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of human progress. In an age where ideas and innovations are catalysts for change, intellectual property lawyers are instrumental in safeguarding the intellectual legacy of today and the innovations of tomorrow.

Why Salesforce Developers are Unexplained Forces of Business (2023)
Tumblr media
According to the company’s own website, Salesforce is known to be the world’s number one customer relationship management (CRM) platform. It is a software whose sole purpose is to help businesses grow by helping them understand the specific needs of their customers by using certain cloud-based apps that are designed for sales, marketing, and service.
However, since no 2 companies are the same, their Salesforce requirements will be different as well. When this takes place, it is usually good to have a top Salesforce development company handy, a company that is well-versed will customise the software development and in providing tailor-made solutions.
If this is something that piques your interest or if you are someone who is already working in Salesforce but would like to up your skills, then this blog is for you.
So What Is A Salesforce Developer?
A Salesforce developer is any person who builds Salesforce applications across different Platform as a Service (PaaS) platforms. However, it is important to keep in mind that he/she does not need to work for Salesforce in any way, shape, or form.
What Do They Do?
A developer dealing in Salesforce has a deep understanding of how it works along with sufficient experience with the platform. A Salesforce developer or a Salesforce development company is hired by an organisation to customise Salesforce to the unique needs of the hiring party. However, it should also be said that the developer can even be someone who is an in-house programmer who has the necessary skills to work with Salesforce. Some of the tools that are used by these developers include Visualforce and Apex and frameworks like Lightning Component.
Roles and Responsibilities of These Developers
One thing that can be easily noticed is that the roles and responsibilities of a Salesforce developer are pretty similar to those of any other professional developer working in a top software development company in India.
However, just for the sake of completeness, here are the roles and responsibilities of these developers:
·       Analyse user needs, and then plan, design, test, and develop software that meets their unique needs.
·       Come up with effective project plans and develop Salesforce solutions. Also add more value to the 3 stages of project work: definition, development, and deployment.
·       Provide useful suggestions regarding software upgrades for existing apps and systems.
·       Stay ahead of the transforming technological landscape of Salesforce, and .Net/Java platforms and also adapt quickly.
·       Develop every part of any application and then plan how those different parts can mesh together.
·       Create programs for use over the internet and for in-house users over the company intranet.
·       Properly handle inconsistencies in data and come up with processes that can counter any deficiencies.
·       Collaborate with other programmers by creating flowcharts so as to instruct them on how to write additional software code.
·       Ensure that a program runs efficiently by performing routine maintenance and testing.
·       Keep a record of the inventory of the company’s systems and applications for future reference, especially when it comes to upgrades.
·       Team up with other computer specialists to develop optimum software.
Other than the above-mentioned points, one must also remember that a Salesforce developer should always maintain a cordial rapport with the client to understand their operation and Salesforce implementation needs. For example, the developer must make it a point to figure out how the customer is trying to use the software and also identify the core functionality. This means paying extra attention to user needs that go well beyond the scope of the software, issues concerning security, and system performance.
