i lost the post but i saw someone talking about how some of y’all act like being weird is a choice and like. YEAHHHHHHH.

that’s fine, it might be for you. but i just live like this and don’t know any other way. like yeah i’ve worked customer service, i can do innocuous small talk, but anything beyond that, i don’t understand what i’m missing. and it’s frustrating to see the tonal disconnect especially from people who are like “uwu embrace weirdness!!” where they’re like. dressing quirky and talking about bugs and listening to obscure music and eschewing small talk to ask Deep Questions on the first date and unlearning their tendency to not infodump. and generally have an idea of what Weirdness is supposed to look like. idk man some of us wake up and get out of bed and can’t figure out why the rest of their coworkers chitchat with each other but when they join the conversation it dies.

weirdness is value neutral. let’s stop trying to turn it into a badge because quite frankly, it’s not a choice for everyone. it’s fucking exhausting to never be on the same wavelength as other people and they’re going to react the way they do and label you the way they will without any conscious actions on your end. it’s difficult to talk about this without feeling like you’ll be dismissed as immature, a teenager whining “no one understands me” but the thing is. sometimes you don’t grow out of feeling alone and different, and there’s no good way to talk about it without feeling like people will think you’re just fishing for pity.

So, Jia Xichun has Gloom for Skill 1, Gluttony for Skill 2 and Envy for Skill 3. What the hell does that mean.

So I wasn't initially going to make a full on analysis, as I don't want to burn myself out on Sin Analyses all over again... But then I thought about it. And thought about it some more... and oh, girl... Oh dear... Oh honey...

So yeah we're doing this

Gloom S1: Gloom as a Sin is associated with negative emotions, dwelling on the past, sinking into despair, and self-destruction. The two Sinners we have with a Gloom S1 - Yi Sang and Gregor - are both people who get easily thrown into reminiscing about their past by seemingly minor happenings, especially Gregor who's quite literally got PTSD.

The easiest way to read this is as a reflection of Xichun's trauma with the Jia Family, and the anxiety she's developed because of it. She's shown to be extremely concerned with building a faction, likely something required of her as one of the candidates for the Family Head, and for a brief moment she even suspects Hong Lu of potentially trying to kill her if she joins up with him, even though Wei points out that Hong Lu is different to the rest of her siblings.

There's also something else I've noticed in the few lines Xichun gets thus far in this Canto - the way she reminisces about her home and past. Unlike Hong Lu, who brings up anecdotes of his life seemingly to try and lighten the mood, unaware that they sound fucking insane to any normal listener, Xichun is very very aware of them being bad memories. And the moments she's pushed into reminiscing seem... very interesting.

The first time is when she manages to shut Hong Lu up and make him stop bothering her by telling him not to embarrass her (which is a line that makes me insane for a completely different reason unrelated to this post), causing her to reminisce and compare Hong Lu's current state to how he was the last time they met.

The second time is when she's failing to extract any useful info from the Priest, comparing the state he's in to the state people tortured by the Jia Family would be reduced to (one of those people likely being Hong Lu himself, judging by his completely silent reaction).

Compare this to the one time Hong Lu reminisces about something towards Xichun. He compares their current predicament, of only temporarily working together, to a truce made over some snacks. He understands what she's saying, he's just either refusing or straight up unable to comprehend the severity of what she's saying. You can tell if she were the one reminiscing here it would be a much darker memory than this.

So.

Xichun is a young woman who was left full of anxiety after having to live in the Jia Household, this anxiety only being made worse by the rivalry she's forced into against her siblings due to circumstances outside of her control.

This anxiety is likely the main cause for her hostility, which acts as her defense mechanism to push people who could harm her away from her, though in the process she ends up sabotaging herself by trying to push away the people who genuinely want to help her, like Hong Lu.

She's a deeply traumatized person, who gets reminded of her family's abuse whenever she sees people around her act in a similar way to the victims of the Jia Family.

That's what I believe her Gloom S1 is meant to reflect.

Gluttony S2: Gluttony as a Sin is associated with hunger, desire, inability to feel satisfied, and in certain cases survival. The two Sinners who have a Gluttony S2 - Gregor and Ishmael - are both heavily tied to survival, being the main focus of the "Survival is a Sin" scene in Canto 1 with Yuri. At the same time though, the object of their Gluttony differs - for Gregor, it's normalcy, a desire to escape the nightmare he lives in, one which he can't reach due to the scars left in him by the Smoke War; for Ishmael, it's finding Ahab, a desire that turns into an obsession with killing a survivor in an act of revenge, one if she were to fulfill would leave her empty and with no other reason to keep on living.

Xichun herself seems to continue the trend of Gluttony being tied to survival, as a lot of how she treats others can be very easily tied into her trying to avoid being picked off by her Family. The main object of desire in Xichun's case appears to be Power.

The first thing Xichun notices and mentions upon seeing Hong Lu is his lack of a well-built faction, and from the way her own posse is described, it seems she herself took the time and effort to build a group that is more than capable of both protecting her and dealing serious harm. She appears to care a lot about the Power numbers give her, especially with how she describes the methods her siblings would use to kill her.

It's not that Yuanchun or her other siblings would personally come after her, no, their Power, and by extention her own, come from the people who surround the siblings. The lackeys, the minions, the faction.

There is also... something else Xichun is searching for in La Manchaland, something that I believe ties back into this desire of hers. Xichun's sole reason for coming all this way is her search for a specific piece of information, and considering her reaction to the story being told by Sansón, it's not impossible for that info to be related to the Rivers of the deep.

...This is where I have to do a bit of speculation, as the Rivers are a part of PM's world we still don't know much about.

Here's what we know for sure about the Rivers:

At least some of them are analogous to the Rivers of Hades, as the River of Oblivion shares the name with one of them, Lethe.

2. The Rivers seem to primarily possess powers that directly influence one's consciousness, whether it be giving one visions of the future that drive them into madness, or completely oblivionize one's identity.

3. Considering the above use of 'well' as a synonym for the Rivers, it's very possible they're Heavily Connected to the Well LobCorp would draw from using Cogito.

So. We don't really know the reason for Xichun to be searching for info on the Rivers. However, from what little we know of what they might be able to do, it's not unlikely her goal is to try and use their Power in some way. It would fit with what we know of her so far, and while our own knowlege is limited, the fact that one of those Rivers was LobCorp's Well shows that when harnessed, they can be incredibly Powerful resources indeed.

So.

Xichun is a person who has been put in a situation where her primary concern is her own survival, as she's put in constant danger by her Family. This has likely led to her developing an unsatiable desire for some form of Power.

This desire primarily manifests itself through Xichun's concern with surrounding herself with powerful people and building her own faction, as it's clear the biggest threat her fellow siblings pose to her is through their own lackeys. Her experience would have clearly taught her that's what being Powerful is all about.

However, due to the nature of this desire as something that cannot be satisfied, a faction is not enough for Xichun. While this is my speculation, I believe this same desire for Power is exactly why Xichun is searching for information on the Rivers within La Manchaland, likely believing that the Power they have would be a highly valuable resource to her.

That's what I believe her Gluttony S2 is meant to reflect.

Envy S3: Envy as a Sin is associated with a sense of inferiority, lack of control and free will, jealousy, and attempts to copy others. The one Sinner with an Envy S3 - Sinclair - is shown to be deeply insecure and easily manipulated into acting a certain way by people who show him attention. He's implied to covet the aura and the kind of presence Demian carries with him, and his fears and feelings of inferiority are the flaw he struggles with the most visibly.

Xichun, at her core, is a deeply insecure person. One of the first things she says about herself is expressing the opinion that she's nowhere close to the level her older siblings are at. She's someone who tries to do what they do, coveting the Power and status they hold, but is unable to match them in her own eyes.

And then. There's this line.

Xichun considers herself to be So below her other siblings, that she sees herself as such a non-threatening figure that there's a chance her siblings would straight up ignore her in their rivalries. This line, I think, exemplifies just how deep and pervasive Xichun's Envy is.

There's also this moment, again further showing her lack of confidence, immediately putting herself down and claiming her prediction is probably wrong the moment she's asked to share it.

So.

Xichun feels a deep sense of inferiority, often comparing herself to her siblings and feeling jealous of their own Power and status. She feels self-conscious about her own lack of those things compared to her Family, to the point where she considers herself completely irrelevant at points of notable weakness.

It's very likely that everything Xichun does stems from that feeling of not being the one in control of the situation, of being so weak that her siblings would feel she's not worth the effort. She needs Power, she needs to be on the same level as her other siblings, because without it, she's considered nothing.

Perhaps it's part of what infuriates her about Hong Lu's behavior. We've seen he's extremely self-sacrificial, willing to just lay down and accept pain simply because he knows why other people would want to inflict that on him. He's someone who seems to put himself in a position of weakness willingly. Of course Xichun would hate seeing that, as someone who doesn't have the choice not to be in a similar position herself.

That's what I believe her Envy S3 is meant to reflect.

I love her. I'm so scared for her.

It makes me wonder if the choice to give her white bits in her hair is meant to invoke the idea of someone's hair turning white prematurely from stress. After all, if there's anyone in the Jia Family who would be stressed to the point of that happening, it would be the one who considers herself the weakest out of all of them...

CARMY WOULD GET BACK TOGETHER WITH CLAIRE AT THE BEGINNING OF S4

HOW MOST DAMAGING RELATIONSHIPS NEED TO END

I know we all feel like scenes with Claire are like a knife pointed at your ribs, while the show screams at us that the knife is a candy cane. But you know who thinks it's also a candy cane? Carmy: he believes is a candy cane too good for him, and he has spent the whole season punishing himself and telling himself he is worthless piece of shit and that she loved him, and that she fixed him.

Right now, Carmy is an addict in need of a fix.

Possible spoilers ahead? Discussions of abuse. I think the movie I am using as a reference would give you a clue as to where I am going. For what I’ve seen and experience, (though every case is different) relationships like this don't usually end when the delusion and codependency are at their highest.

Claire is normally not worth mentioning till at least the ending of the pilot of each season. So the pilot is gonna be about something else. But I will bet episode 2 is him running to her.

Carmy always uses Claire as a point of reference for what he wants from the restaurant (Because the Bear is the creature, his trauma response, the way to cope with his abuse).

In s2, Claire is a distraction because Carmy cannot face the trauma of rebuilding the restaurant (and himself) without the shadow of his past (his brother, his mother, Claire)

In s3, Carmy uses the belief that he is not worth love (and the memories of Claire, the ideal love that he lost) in order to punish himself and trap himself once more in the system his abuser chef (and Donna) established for him to live in, the one he is supposed to defeat to win love. She is the motivation to stay in the freezer; she is an extension of trauma.

In s4, he will think that she is indeed his only peace and will go after her and make out at the beginning of this season. He wants peace, so he thinks if he gets peace with her, he could provide it for others, the same way she used her for amusement, so he could provide it for others.

My other evidence? This change in lighting. In the first image, he's got the same sweater he uses to explain the brutality of restaurants to someone; it's the same sweater in the clip of him running. He is firing himself up, or is trying to justify himself.

So I think he goes to the freezer, decides he wants Clair back and goes for her, then he tries to explain to her why he acted the way he did. They probably will get together. Hence, the change in lighting is because that's his perception. The way they get back together would be extremely interesting. Is she gonna be less deceiving about her lack of interest on his career, will she demand total access and dependence from Carmy? This is a good opportunity to show what narcissists do when they have decided to stop playing victim and get the upper hand.

But then he sees the bear review and goes all in with the new peace mentality (that won't work because it's not real peace).

AND WHAT ABOUT SYD?

Syd has decided to stay because of her people. She wants to grab this burning plate and make it. She may want to support Carmy and make sure he is okay, but after the over the table scene, there is a huge bridge between this two, Carmy would try to cross it, and Syd would still be at her end of the bridge with a sign that says "this is no longer about you."

A relationship with Luca, however official or invested it would be, would be a good way for Syd to experiment all the things she wants with Carmen, without him: a partner, creative enrichment, support, and comfort. They played it clearly that he was attracted to her in the last episode of s3, not to use that right off the bat of s4.

BUT THIS WOULD NOT BE THE END

It has been said, based on the bts of the ClairexCarmy fight, that there is an allegation of cheating.

So I think they are gonna go to the wedding. Carmen would be Claire's date because otherwise, he wouldn't be invited. Syd goes with Richie.

And Donna happens, fishes style. Donna acts up, and Claire acts up because Syd is there.

But Carmy goes to Syd, and after that, Saint Claire would show her real face.

WHY IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN THIS WAY?

Because there is no other way.

From here on end, I will go by the theory of Claire being a benign narcissist.

Growing up being abused is like putting glasses that make you believe shallow and damaging relationships are ideal and that all love you can get is too good for you, especially coming from a person (the narcissist) who is precisely love bombing at times and isolating you. Thats why Carmen is so trapped by this shallow person that diminishes him emotionally so much, the sane way Donna did, but with the love and approval Dona never gave him. Carmy is just repeating a cycle with a new face, and the illusion needs to fall down. This post by @brokenwinebox is the reference here.

In the book "It Ends with Us" the main character finds "the love of her life" after almost attempting suicide. She describes him as an angel who has come to her rescue. That is how Carmy feels about Claire.

btw, I don't like Collen Hoover's writing, she tends to be problematic to say the least, and I still found this depiction of getting out of an abusive relationship rather incomplete, but the point still stands.

The relationship in the book only breaks after multiple triggers force the narcissist to demand control and reassurance, and he would use ways to damage his partner psychologically and physically to get it.

Maybe this is my personal preference for catharsis. I rather Carmy never doubt this was always gonna end up badly. I also have never seen narcissists drop the act on TV yet. Even the movie of It ends with us tried to dim the force of illusion that this fake love had on the protagonist, because you want your protagonist to "predict" or "feel" the truth, and carmy kind of does too, he just needs to see the ilusion burn on his face.

But I would rather see a season of Carmy finding support from his people while Claire demands more affection and sacrifices from him (slowly suffocating him) until the Donna confrontation. For him to slowly and then abruptly realize she was never peace and the ways she manipulated him. I want it to be painfully obvious, no doubt or the excuse she exploded because she was so so jealous.

No, Donna=Claire once and for all.

Edit. That scene of Claire reminiscing of committing malpractice like it’s pillow talk and her mentions of how it was cool that Michael set things on fire (while that was a reckless behavior cause by his addiction) could also be foreshadowing of her hurting Carmen due to her recklessness.

I really could justify any dynamic for Darryl equally, but alpha feels the most clean cut to me, Henry calling him on his alpha bullshit in episode one signed me up for the devils sacrament, darryl is pretty progressive for an alpha in staying at home and doing the primary raising of his pup, but he also has a lot of pent-up aggression and has a need to demand respect

I like alpha Henry a lot because of a similar pent-up aggression that he tries to stuff down in the name of being progressive, he feels like everyone is equal regardless of dynamic and tries his best to use his privilege to speak up for omega rights

I think regardless of what ron is, he presents as a beta, very very very suppressed scent, almost undetectable, beta is just the safest thing for him to be

Glenn I originally put in my notes as 'I'll just put him where ever I want' and clearly that means omega, but I do feel like he would be really comfortable being an omega, no shame around it but he also doesn't really play into any of the stereotypes, is kind of abrasive for an omega and doesn't exactly take to the pup-raising as naturally as other omegas might, he masks his scent just for convenience and lets people assume whatever they please about his secondary gender

Jodie however is a very stereotypical alpha, confident and strong and very take charge, he is Glenn's polar opposite, would only suppress his scent as far as his job requires, though demon!Jodie is proud to broadcast his scent everywhere and let people know exactly what he is

Francis being the most bullied kid in peachyville just screams omega male in all the classic fic trope ways, looking up to his alpha parents and never feeling like enough, being bullied by alpha Shane, unrequited feelings for the popular girl in school (also someone said alpha brunhilda trying to manipulate omega Francis and I loved that)

Tony is a very showboat-y dramatic omega who will use his scent and role in society to try and sway people and get what he wants, I don't know if he would present himself as an omega, likely doing a poor job at pretending to be an alpha, but a pack is something he desperately craves and had never had, repeatedly rejected and abandoned by those he considers his pack

Blake is just a guy, I think people would initially assume he is an alpha, but he makes no effort to try and lie about the fact that he's a beta, he's content with it

While I still don't think the show has done enough to show why the world despises and fears male channelers (since it really should've been embedded into the world building, so far we only know that the Aes Sedai hate and fear them) and it does kinda lessen the impact of the narrative that none of the EF5 had at least an initial gut reaction to Rand being able to channel. I do wonder how they're gonna handle that topic moving forward, cause it kinda has to be addressed now that Rand is actively channeling. I could see it being expanded more deeply as Rand's madness progresses/tie it into his arc.

the show has made it ABUNDANTLY clear that Male Channelers Are Considered Bad News By All. it IS embedded into the worldbuilding. was the king saying that logain's gone mad and trying to kill him not enough for you? was the people of tar valon jeering and throwing fruit at him not enough for you? was rand and mat saying "hey if i'm a male channeler please kill me" not enough for you? was rand's terror the second he realized selene saw him channel not enough for you? was selene's act of how a normal person would react to finding out her boyfriend can channel not enough for you? was his heartbroken yet unsurprised reaction to her rejection not enough for you? was the whole backstory of a male channeler causing the apocalypse not enough for you? do you think that show-onlys are completely incapable of putting all these pieces together along with aes sedai treatment of male channelers and coming to the conclusion that male channelers are probably not very popular with most people and it's going to be very tough for rand that he is one?

literally what else should they have done that would make sense within the very small world and very early story of the first 2 seasons/3 books that they didn't already do? shown emond's fielders sitting around the dinner table talking about how much they hate and fear male channelers when none of them has ever met one and thus it's not relevant to their lives? wasted time doing a whole sidequest for rand in s2 where his abilities are discovered by some Average Citizens and they react badly? shit all over show!mat's characterization and given him a negative reaction to rand in s2 that would not make sense for his current show headspace, just for the sake of furthering rand's randpain? i'm sick of the rand stans who act like rand is the only character who matters and mat's characterization should be sacrificed just so we can go "oh poor rand uwu even his own best friend is mean to him". portraying mat in 2x06 as the sort of person who bullies and kicks his best friend while he's down would've been beneficial because......? what is so wrong with the show making the ef5 feel like mutually loyal friends instead of "rand is the best and most loyal friend in the world but the rest are little shits who abandon him as soon as the going gets tough"? seeing as in the books, mat continues to be an extremely loyal friend to rand throughout the series but most readers are too stupid to see through his unreliable narration and realize he doesn't mean it when he says that rand channeling is like him eating babies, i'm not surprised the show decided to simplify things in order to convey the true heart of mat's character (loyal and caring friend to rand) in a more obvious manner.

and i guarantee you that no show-only is going "oh, it's only aes sedai who have a problem with male channelers, everyone else thinks they're cool". that's not happening. show-onlys are not stupid, and they understand that male channelers are considered bad news by all; or maybe they haven't thought much yet about how male channelers are viewed by the average public, but in future seasons once we see rand getting shit from the average public, they are not going to be surprised or confused or go "but i thought it was only aes sedai who had a problem with them and everyone else thinks they're cool?", they're going to go "oh, well we've seen how much aes sedai hate them, so it makes sense that everyone else does too". stop. think for 2 seconds about "have i actually seen a large number* of show-onlys misunderstanding X and/or do i think it's plausible that a large number of show-onlys would be likely to misunderstand X, or do show-onlys have enough context clues to figure out X for themselves or to be unsurprised when X is expanded on and made more explicit in future seasons and i'm working myself up into a state over a non-issue?"

*there are always going to be a handful of people incapable of critical thinking who willfully misunderstand what the show is showing us, just like there are readers like that with the books, hence unless a LARGE number of general-population show-onlys are misunderstanding X, as opposed to just 20 idiots on twitter, i do not consider it a failure by the show in portraying X.

So like Blitzo invites Stolas out - it's under false pretences and to invade M&M's privacy, but nothing about the way Stolas acts afterwards makes any sense. they're in a sex for services deal just for the book, not dating. yet Stolas shows up super dressed up, is obviously after a mushy romantic time and asks Blitz why he 'asked him out' (like it's a date, something Blitz never said and only half-heartedly was like 'I guess' when Stolas suggested that's what it was). but the other thing I notice is how Blitzo barely even seems to like Stolas in Ozzie's. He rolls his eyes, looks annoyed, barely even knows how to talk to him. it makes the montage in Apology Tour where they apparently had conversations outside during their full moon meet ups that got Blitzo to smile even weirder because in Ozzie's he behaves like they never had a normal conversation before. so did all that actually becoming friends thing happen offscreen in s2 or something…?

the two of them just seem super mismatched outside of the issues with the deal, too. Blitzo is obviously outgoing and likes going places, having fun and is super gregarious with people. Even assuming he gets over his issues with intimacy I can't see it being in character for him to be romantic in an over the top, mushy way. He's more of the tsudere type - honestly his pic with Verosika where they're both serving makes me feel like his previous relationship was more like how Fizz/Ozzie used to be: just two people being bad bitches together. But Stolas has said outright he wants mushy sentimental romance. And that's fine for people who are good at that and into it, it just doesn't feel like a box Blitzo would fit in, especially with all his trauma. The little ways someone like BLitzo would say 'I love you' would never be enough for Stolas because he's massively insecure. (Not to mention he's an indoorsy type who prefers books and plants, stuff Blitz finds boring)

The other thing that bugs me is the framing. It seems in hindsight that Viv intended Ozzie's to be a 'bad ending'. It's somehow a bad ending when the person Stolas is using as his personal escort refuses to roleplay as his boyfriend, but the show sides with Stolas that a transactional deal that's nothing but sex one party is forced to give counts as a 'relationship' and Blitzo blocking it progressing to something more genuine makes him the bad guy. When in reality it's a massive sign of delusion on Stolas' part that he honestly thought he could invite Blitzo inside and act like they're going steady while he still has Blitzo trapped in the full moon deal. Stolas is that guy who hires an escort for sex then gets bitter they don't love him because he developed a one sided bond with them where he could delude himself he wasn't paying for their labor and time, and they'd dip the second the financial side wasn't part of the equation. He outright claims Blitzo 'lied' to him just by looking in his eyes

And this isn't a delusion Stolas had after months of paying someone to say 'I love you'. He has it after months of paying someone to have sex with him and nothing else, then thinks he's owed love because he behaves himself and treats them with more respect for a single evening.

It's absolutely wild to think that a lot of us looked at the end of Ozzie's and felt excited for the future, excited to see Stolas do something with that apparent moment of realization. Instead, he's done nothing but double down. He's absolutely someone who pays an escort for sex, shows up at their apartment with a ring, and considers themselves the wronged party when they get a no.

It's about good omens I know, I know. Half of the fandom is in mourning 'cause of Aziraphale and Crowley in s2 ep6 but I just want to do a character analysis of both for some more added information (ig). Now, I don't know if someone has already done this analysis or not, but fuck it, I'ma just do them anyways. I think we can look at Crowley first since most people do relate to him more than anyone else. In season 1, we are introduced to the fact that Crowley is the snake from Eden. That in itself makes him very important, but in season 2 episode 1, his importance rises so much. We find the fact that they were the ones who geared up the universe, "Let there be light" and stuff, he also said that he worked very close with upstairs. In the final episode of season 2, he could also open a confidential file that could only be accessed by a throne, a dominion, or above. This means; that before falling, he was extremely important/had a high status (whether he was Raphael or not doesn't matter). Again, in the last episode of season 2, during their breakup, he says, "I understand it a lot better than you do." to Aziraphale when he suggests that Crowley go up to heaven with him. Crowley, in this scenario, knows what's going on. He has clearly seen what heaven is like, top to bottom. From Crowley's point of view, both heaven and hell do not understand that there doesn't need to be a war. That Armageddon doesn't need to happen. He has always seen things in grey, from the beginning. Questioning God and her plans; not fully abiding with hell, like, ever; doing whatever the fuck he wants. Now, before I continue, I think I should give Aziraphale's character some more context. I have been hearing about the coffee theory in the fandom. in simple words: Metatron put something in the coffee and manipulated Aziraphale to become the supreme archangel with it. it definitely is an interesting theory, but there isn't much proof I can see. Mainly because, we see their conversation (in bits a pieces, sure), and you can see Aziraphale acting normally. He's wary and concerned. But from the beginning, Aziraphale has always (mostly) seen in Black and Whites (contrary to Crowley). Even if he denies it, he does (it's hard to forget what you believed since you existed). The only person who's shown Aziraphale that, "Hey, there can be more than one option" is Crowley. Only with Crowley has he ever had the choices (not just good and evil). Even then, he believed Heaven is always good and hell's always evil (he has made multiple remarks about him being good and Crowley being evil, for example, in the flashback of the Edinburgh surgeon, he has made that remark. Even when they met in season 1, he said, "Well obviously, you're a demon." after Crowley said that hell just said to go up there and make some trouble). This in itself proves that Aziraphale always thought in black and white even when he tries to divert himself to not think like that. In his eyes, Heaven is good, and Hell is evil. But the angels and the demons can be in between those shades of grey. That Heaven is currently corrupted, and Hell, even more. He doesn't want another Armageddon, he wants heaven to understand what it means to be "good" (good in atleast his eyes). In very simple words; Aziraphale believes that Heaven isn't working properly/is corrupt and wants to/thinks that he can infact fix it, and Crowley believes everything is working the way it's supposed to since he has seen it personally displayed infront of him, since he has been a high ranking angel in Heaven. Or in much simpler words: THEY DON'T FUCKING TALK TO EACHOTHER.

If the both of them could've had a heart-to-heart talk earlier, it could've ended so much differently. Neither of them knows what the other feels and just assumes what they think the other one thinks. It in itself is a toxic mindset to have. They both didn't "break up" because Metatron manipulates Aziraphale or because Aziraphale couldn't return Crowley's feelings (man's (non-binary) literally fell first). It was because neither of them understood eachother. Aziraphale sees Crowley as a demon who wants desperately to be an angel (many indirect remarks have been made like in Job's arc and such) and someone who accidentally fell (which is true at some level). AND Crowley sees Aziraphale as a simple-minded angel who needs rescuing from time to time (which, again, is true at some level). They both are literally forgetting their own nuances and beliefs, and assuming what the other thinks because, say it with me, THEY DO NOT TALK. The reason Crowley felt betrayed was because he didn't realize that Aziraphale wasn't exactly who he thought he was. After all, Aziraphale isn't a simple character, he's a complex character with very strict (too strict) morals. And Aziraphale realized that Crowley really didn't want to go to Heaven OR Hell, since he always thought that Crowley only hated Hell, not Heaven aswell. So it was a shock to him. WHY? BECAUSE THEY DON'T FUCKING TALK TO EACHOTHER. So, when people say that it's because of the coffee, it pisses me off a little. It practically refuses the idea of nuances existing within these characters. Listen, if it's actually because of the coffee or Metatron doing/saying something sinister to Aziraphale, I'll take my L. But for now, I wholeheartedly believe that it was fully Aziraphale's decision to go to Heaven.

i don't think felicity would do it, not if it meant a diminished role for jyn, who she clearly has a lot of love for as a character. i have a feeling that some of the other actors involved who may or may not have wanted to commit to a tiny scene have their own side of what went down and so i think there are too many ruffled feathers for any of that to work. not that lucasfilm would give a shit about disrespecting actors but i just think that a remake is not on the cards in general.

that would be the only thing i think that would actually make it so that rebelcaptain is not even a thing anymore in any sense. which lbr you and i know they couldn't scrub OUR memories but literally the only thing they could do... i guess they could actually retcon the ending of rogue one, bring them or just cassian back to life and then have cassian go be the dutiful husband and father which ??? oh ewwww no that would be unhinged and so disrespectful to the work of everyone involved in that film and i imagine that would be again completely ridiculous and petty for no real payoff

Reguarding the Hazbin situation:

So with a heavy heart, I made the extremely tough decision to watch the entire season once the piece of shit russian hacker dumps it all online.

I feel extremely guilty doing this because of the crew, and I have never done this intentionally since I was a little kid back in the SU days. I would normally never do this because I can wait a few weeks, but I cannot wait a whole year. I will end up getting spoiled and having everything ruined for me. There's absolutely no fucking doubt that will happen. I feel like I have no choice. Its either have everything ruined for you or ruin it yourself. I'm the type of person who'd rather ruin it for myself then give someone else the joy of ruining it for me.

Despite watching early, I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT be posting, sharing, making fanart, fanfics, fananimatics, or ANYTHING related to season 2 until the official release. I will consider myself under an NDA as if I fucking worked for the show. Any public fan content I make will be based on previous headcannons and theories I had before s2. Any future character designs, such as past Vox, past Alastor, Roo, Lilith, Eve, Alastor's mother, or whatever else comes about in season 2 will be fan designed with a pre-s2 mindset. so i finished our flag means death a few days ago and i finally have coherent thoughts, so i’m gonna talk about izzy’s death

i’ve seen A LOT of people be extremely upset about izzy dying at the end of s2. and i get it. it hurt seeing him die. he’d finally gotten his character arc and he finally was healing and then. death. it hurt. i won’t deny that, it would be disingenuous to act like it wasn’t a painful moment.

but what i cannot get behind is the way some people are framing izzy’s death.

it’s only been a few days of me not aggressively dodging ofmd posts in an attempt to avoid spoilers and in those few days i have seen a truly staggering number of posts framing izzy’s death as being “burying your gays” and that his death is somehow indicative of ulterior motives from the showrunners and writers.

which is just— for the love of all that is holy please use your critical thinking skills. do you not realize how much those claims SCREAM “media illiteracy”?

Bury Your Gays as a trope necessitates a few things. firstly, it’s typically done to further someone else’s story line and secondly, it’s done in stories where there is only one or maybe two queer characters. the writer is burying their one gay, typically for the sake of advancing a straight character’s arc.

that’s not what’s happening with izzy’s death. ofmd is a show that is almost entirely made up of characters who are some flavor of queer. it’s not Bury Your Gays for one of the many gays to die. it’s just character death. which yes, is painful and heartwrenching and heartbreaking. but it’s not inherently homophobic to kill a queer character in media. and izzy’s death doesn’t serve to further anyone else’s character development. people have said it’s just there to like “make sure the writer’s otp end up together” or something like that. which is just such a weird take. first of all the writer’s otp are literally the main characters of this show. and secondly, izzy’s death felt very much like a moment for he and ed to get closure. it had nothing to do with stede, really.

you’re allowed to feel hurt by izzy’s death. in fact, it’s perfectly normal to feel hurt and upset and sad when a character you love dies.

but you can’t start throwing around false and harmful accusations about the writers because the death upset you.

something isn’t objectively bad or “problematic” because YOU didn’t like it. ofmd isn’t homophobic because a queer character that you personally liked died.

and acting like queer people can’t die in media without it being “homophobic” just serves to further other us.

and throwing around accusations that it homophobic is so flippantly is honestly just disappointing.

mickey found not only love in ian but a family and a safe place and ian not only found love in mickey but a safe place for his feelings, family and someone who was gonna love him no matter what, someone who was gonna fall in love with him and want him for who he was and not only for the sexual aspect.

and i really need to talk about this.

the milkovich family and the milkovich house was never a warm, safe place and it didn't feel like a family or like a home. it was about surviving, they weren't extremely close, they barely even talked or supported each other. the milkovich house was about keeping the milkovich reputation intact but nothing else.

but then ian happened.

and ian was warm and bright, and listened to him and supported him and ian cared about him. and most importantly, ian always had his back and he didn't feel like he was on his own, he finally had someone. so he found a family in him, someone that would support him no matter what, someone that would love him in sickness, in health, richer or poorer and beyond death probably. he found a safe place where feelings were allowed, where being vulnerable was okay, where talking was normal and violence wasn't exactly an option. and he learned, he learned how to express his feelings and after spending his entire life thinking he couldn't do that, thinking he wasn't allowed to do that because that meant weakness but turned out that meant maturity and bravery.

and ian was never loved by a man before mickey, both man groomed him and only wanted him for sex they weren't looking for any emotional connection, they weren't trying to be anything special and important for him, they just wanted sex. so he didn't know what love exactly was, he knew about attraction, he knew about sexual tension, about desire but not about love.

but then mickey happened.

and even if at the beginning was only sex it stopped being only about that really quick. mickey didn't have to learn how to take care of ian, he had this natural instinct that knew what to do everytime ian was in danger or needed help. that's the difference between him and those horrible older men. mickey respected ian, he listened to what he wanted and what he didn't want, he took his feelings and his safety into consideration in moments like s2 where he finally doesn't hurt frank. he showed ian what meant to be loved by someone who's not from your family, to be loved by someone who actively chooses to do it, to love you. and he loved every single version of ian and took care of him since very early in the show and in a more obvious way since season 4. so in consequence, he found a safe place in mickey. a safe place he could run, a safe place where he could be at the lowest point and his most vulnerable self without being told he was being too emotional or too sensitive. and he found someone who would fight for him and would fight to stay with him.

so yeah, ian is mickey's family and mickey is ian's proof that true, honest, pure love exists.

first off i think boy meets world in the context of just a purely heterosexual show makes it age pretty poorly, and that all stems from cory and topanga. i know one of the writers said a while back that the writers room was torn between shory and corpanga, and tbh, rewatching as an adult, that's extremely evident. i'm not gonna make this post all about shory bc that's reductive but i am first and formost a shory girl and a firm believer that cory matthews is a gay man

so let's get into it.

i really really love s1/2 corpanga. idk if it's just bc ben/danielle felt more natural back then or if it's bc they actually allowed cory to be wrong and topanga to be right, but it's just so sweet. one of my all time fav ship moments from the show is the frickin sock basketball scene where they touch hands and he giggles. so adorable! but i think what really makes them suffer after s1 (and kind of s2) is just that they clearly made topanga a normal, kelly kapowski girl-next-door type to make her more "desirable" for the male audience. that could be an entire separate post, but it's so fucking obvious that that's what the change was and it sucks because topanga was great the way she was.

they're not like hatable in season 3 exactly, but the "old married couple haha look how old gross and boring they are" trope when they were legitimately sophomores was just weird? and this is a retrospect thing but i hate how the show just kept retconning shit and pretended they never broke up in season 3, as if a HUGE storyline and one of the most iconic episodes (the happiest place on earth) wasn't about them getting back together? and for me just the concept of the ~universe wanting them to be together~ over and over again is just so fucking lame when they were so toxic. (great video on this here)

they really don't do anything wrong in season 4 either, but a long walk to pittsburgh is honestly so beyond ridiculous LMAO. i know everyone talks about how romantic it is, but i hate it because topanga literally runs away and moves back to philly just for cory. i know they claim it's to finish at john adams too, but i would find that much more believable if they had developed topanga AT ALL outside of cory. we know almost nothing about her home life and they wrote trini out so we never even see any friends of hers! the trend of them fighting and talking down to amy about their love is so fucking stupid too. like you are sixteen. it is fine to love someone and want to be with someone, but amy is right that it's not healthy for them to be as obsessed with each other as they are. like cory literally doesn't know who he is outside of topanga and that's NOT healthy.

oh lordy. s5. i'm not going to get into how much i hate that shawngela (a MUCH happier, more interesting relationship) was reduced to "wanting to be corpanga" in both their intro episode and then fucking gmw, but even the "old married couple" stuff in "chasing angela" at the restaurant is so annoying. "last tango in philly" is one of my fav episodes, but it's the perfect example of how cory can never accept he's wrong. shawn tries to tell him they should stop, and he just tells shawn he knows nothing about relationships and keeps being a dick about topanga and her (obviously gay) friend. but obviously, you're here to hear about how i feel about the cheating. yes, cory cheated and he genuinely liked lauren. for the show to act like he didn't is just gaslighting their audience. and tbh? i think ben and linda cardellini had excellent chemistry (certainly more than he and danielle did at that point . . .) and i think it's completely healthy to date more than one person! it was nice seeing cory be able to open up and bond with someone else, and yes, what he did was cheating. just bc he changed his mind and decided he "couldn't live without topanga" (bless u probably queer writer for what u did w that line :') ) doesn't mean that it didn't happen. topanga had EVERY right to break up with him. it does piss me off that we barely saw topanga's reaction to the breakup when there was a whole ep dedicated to shawn's reaction (and i say that as the #1 shawn stan), but that show hated women lbfr. AND WHY TF WAS IT BAD FOR HER TO KISS JONATHAN JACKSON WHEN SHE AND CORY WERE BROKEN UP????? bc cory can't accept things not going his way and not having control. the "we are a masterpiece" scene makes me so fucking angry omg i cannot

and i mean, bro, the yale shit has been talked about to death, but topanga lawrence going to the same college as straight d-student shawn hunter has got to be the dumbest, most woman-hating shit the show ever did. love can survive long distance if you put the effort in, trust me. (yes i am aware that the show prob didn't want to separate their main couple, but s6 was almost entirely about shawn anyway so????)

then in seasons 6 and 7 we get into the "cory yelling at and publicly humiliating topanga" trend. "undapants" is iconic so i'm not gonna go into that episode (fuck you "take her back to your tornado infested trailer park" line!), but i can name at least seven occasions where cory pressures her into sex. and rider strong is right. it was extremely holier than thou how they constantly made it seemed like corpanga was better than shawngela for not fucking before marriage. like isn't there a line where they call shawngela sluts in s7? the whole honesty bit in "the truth about honesty" (admittedly one of my fav eps) is also just ridiculous bc both of them always get pissed off at the other one for being honest, even in the past. i've seen people get mad at topanga for throwing yale in cory's face but lbr, who didn't see that coming? i guess maybe it's a little weird bc she'd never been resentful about it before, but that's a HUGE thing in their relationship. and yes, it is weird that she's using his razor without his permission but again just the pressuring her to show him her ass is also fucking weird (it's also weird imo that they've been together "their whole lives" but they've only ever kissed, but again, holier than thou bullshit)

one thing i can say about how weak and uninteresting their relationship actually is is that their ENTIRE wedding episode is about shory, bc they are the much more compelling dynamic in cory's life. weirdly enough, i do actually really like cory's vows though?? on a shawn hunter stan note, oblig "that best man speech was bullshit" comment. it's completely normal and healthy to have a best friend outside of your partner? especially when you can't be honest with your partner. god i fucking hate that bullshit. just like how i hate in "seven the hard way/the war" how they portray cory abandoning his best friend/true life partner for topanga AND THEN IN FUCKING GMW THE BAD FUTURE FOR EVERYONE LITERALLY CAME TRUE!!!!!!! omg i will go insane if i think about that for longer than a few seconds.

OH MY GOD I HATE ships with Person A going after Person B without taking no for an answer. Person B's agency isn’t being taken into consideration and it’s like they’re a prize for Person A.

Granted there are ships with that trope I do like, but it’s moreso b/c of the other good stuff in the ship and it outweighs the bad.

Like Kl*roline, there’s literally nothing about that ship I can say that I like except for the fact that the actors are pretty and I liked the paper scene (and even then, Caroline was shamelessly giggling with Klaus while her boyfriend was watching. Her boyfriend who Klaus killed, forced to become a hybrid, and made him into his slave).

What’s your opinion on the new episodes?

rusty, but that was by their own admission in the entertainment round table. the pacing felt weird and charas felt oc because they were trying to set up a bunch of stuff at the expense of real character moments. Abbott has had a bit of a pacing problem since S2 - see how the legendary school stuff felt like it was leading to something big, and then was resolved in a single episode that wasn't even the finale - and already struggles with giving the full ensemble something to do - Barb and Jacob in particular felt really overlooked this ep - so I'm not sure why they needed to add THREE new recurrings unless its to fill out scenes that are Janine away from Abbott later in the season, because already two of those new charas feel superfluous. they were just standing there echoing lol. I also feel like they were so busy setting up bowling pins that there weren't a lot of jokes which also made it feel more sluggish than normal, but I'm hopeful that returning back to 22min will mean the next episodes are sharper. at the roundtable the cast unanimosuly said the library episode in the middle of the season was one their favourite to film so that bodes well.

the Ava side plot would have been fine as a one episode gag but in this two parter felt like a bit of a waste of time because it disappeared halfway through - though the dancing was funny. not sure how much I like the dismissal of her getting back into education though, it cheapens the growth the had in the previous season.

like everyone else I'm extremely relieved they broke up Melissa and Gary because they simply never set that up for us to have any positive connection with him, half the mentions of him off screen were about him being dismissive of Melissa, so I'm glad they let her set a boundary and keep it, it was a nice tie in to her relationship with Joe and gave her a bit more depth. like I don't care if they pair her up with someone, I'm not one of those people who is anti her dating a guy over a woman, but it at least needs to be someone in her own fucking league and that the story actually makes us hear about what a good partner they are (or a shit partner as long as the plot ESTABLISHES they are shit instead of trying to make us like someone who has given us no reason to). even if it's just off screen mentions like Gerald with Barbara - give us a reason to be invested in the relationship if you're gonna attempt an engagement scene, guys.

the way they're handling Janine and Gregory still seems right, it's season 3 of a planned 7 season show and it would be way too early to establish them as a steady couple, thematically that's the payoff near the end of the series like every other sitcom. it made sense that they're still approaching each other like nervous deer after the way Franklin Institute went, they're both still tender about it because it's still unresolved and they were both very vulnerable. they're still figuring things out and like Sheryl repeatedly says, they both need some therapy lol. they're very clearly endgame but it still needs more time and work for the payoff to feel earned and the show isn't at that point in the story yet.

(2nd POV)

Ever since you had joined empires, it's been quite a lot.

Having to rule an empire was a bit of a tough one, but you were able to do it either way. You happened to meet some new friends during your first few days of empires, one of them being none other than the Sheriff Jimmy solidarity himself.

He was really shy at first, always stuttering everytime you were around.

Soon, he grew to be more comfortable around you. You would visit each other a lot, Jimmy always seemed very blushy everytime you were around though. You thought of it as him just being surprised or shy, you didn't realize it was something else.

As time went by, you and Jimmy grew a more closer bond. You were the only one who actually respected him, he thought you respected him because you loved him, but really you mostly respected him because he was sheriff.

When he found out you didn't exactly respect him because you loved him and only because he was sheriff, he was sort of pissed and sad at the same time.

During the times you guys were together hanging out, Jimmy developed feelings for you. Sure you also developed minor feelings for him, but you only ever saw him as a friend. Nothing more.

Of course, Jimmy was gonna change that somehow. He just didn't know yet.

A few times, Jimmy has stalked you. Mostly when you're hanging out with the rulers like Princess Gem or Katherine, Jimmy was jealous everytime he saw you with someone else. He wanted you all to himself.

Ever since the hermits arrived from the Rift, you had been hanging out with a lot of them. You would hang out with the hermits during your free time when you finished your royal Duties, you completely forgot about hanging out with Jimmy.

Jimmy felt lonely and extremely jealous, he was so pissed at the hermits just randomly arriving and taking you away from him. His obsession grew for you, he was gonna have you to himself one way or another.

Jimmy planned for days and days, planning on how to finally have you. Of course, you were completely unaware of this. You did grow a bit concerned when you noticed Jimmy having dark eyebags under his eyes whenever you spotted him walking around, you grew a bit worried for him. You were planning to go and check up on him, but Scar had dragged you with him to hang out with him and Grian. You sort of then forgot about checking up on Jimmy for the rest of the day.

As you hanged out with Scar and Grian, Jimmy stalked you. His eyes filled with jealousy and obsession, his fists clenched when he saw how close Scar and Grian were getting to you. But he didn't do anything about it and instead just continued to stalk you!

Jimmy made a plan, a plan to kidnap you in your sleep. He wanted you all to himself, so why not kidnap you! He had to figure out how he would execute his plan though. He'd climb up into your bedroom window when you're sleeping, he'd make sure to be as quiet as he could to not wake you up, he'd then go through the bedroom window and gently carry you out of your bedroom and outside of your empire, he would then ride back empire with your sleeping form on his horse.

The plan was all set, Jimmy just needed to wait for the right day. After about two days, Jimmy waited for night time to arrive, he climbed up to your window and saw you were deep in sleep. He did exactly what he had planned the two days before as he brought your sleeping form out of your bedroom with only a slight struggle, he spent a good two minutes looking for the doors to the outside of your empires, he then found it and went outside still carrying you. He walked over to his horse and set you infront of him and began riding back home, to his surprise, you didn't wake up.

Once Jimmy reaches his empires, he gets down from his horse, he also carries you down off of his horse. He brings his horse back into the stables and went inside of his house/'empire', he walked toward a guest bedroom that happen to have no windows at all (its like it was made just for you!), he set you down on the bed and walked out, locking the door so that you wouldn't try to escape when you woke up.

By the time you woke up, it was slightly dark in the room, but not too dark. You looked around confused, you didn't recognize your surroundings. The door opening could be heard which made you turn your head towards it, it revealed none other than Jimmy holding a plate of food

"Oh! You're awake! Morning!" Jimmy said smiling innocently, you weren't having it though

"Jimmy, where am I? Why am I not in my bedroom? Where are we?" You asked confused and a bit bitterly at the same time

"Oh, well we're currently at our house!" Jimmy said cheerfully

"Our house?..." You looked at Jimmy weirdly

"Yes! You live here with me now!" Jimmy said acting as if it wasn't a bad thing, he walked over to the night stand next to the bed and set the plate of food down

"Y-you kidnapped me?!" You exclaimed, clearly not sounding happy by this at all

"Kidnap isn't what I would exactly call it, it's more of bringing you here to live with me! I knew you would immediately decline my love and stay away from me, so I had to this!" Jimmy says, still acting cheerfully

"You're insane!" You snapped, looking at Jimmy with a glare, Jimmy pouted making it look like he was hurt

"Oh, don't worry. You'll warm up to me eventually, you're going to be all mine without anyone interfering..." Jimmy said, his expression now changing into a slight insane and manic one, he then left without letting you say anything else, locking the door so that you wouldn't be able to get out.

You immediately stood up and tried opening the door, but it was no use, you didn't even have anything that may unlock the door. The room didn't exactly have windows which mad it worse, you then went back to your bed and began nibbling on the food Jimmy set on the nightstand.

Why did Jimmy have to do this to you? He loved you, but you didn't. Why did he have to kidnap you and isolate you in your room with no possible escape?...

You sat there thinking to yourself about why did this happen to you, you didn't want this at all, you wanted to be with your friends again. You began to felt lonely and extremely upset, you didn't exactly have a choice to leave...

Ever since that day, the other rulers had gotten a note to what they thought it was you saying that you had went on a journey and would probably not be back soon and they believed it surprisingly, little did they know that Jimmy was the one who sent the note.

You were stuck in Jimmy's house, not being able to contact your friends at all. You felt isolated and alone. Jimmy would sometimes force you to show affection to him, even forcing you to kiss him occasionally, He'd be nice most of the time though which barely made it any better.

After a while, you slowly got gaslighted into thinking that you did love Jimmy. Jimmy gaslighted you into thinking what he was doing was just to keep you safe, you ended up falling into his lies and manipulation unfortunately, making you warm up to Jimmy and show actual affection.

Deep down inside, Jimmy felt a bit bad for doing this to you. He hated the fact that he had to do this, but he had no choice, this was the only way he could get you to love him.
