Trench Crusade!

So recently, myself and some friends got into Trench Crusade, an upcoming skirmish based wargame - thus far it looks like great fun, and we've been playtesting over the last few months. It's basically "Hell is literally invading earth, its 1914 and everything is awful"

Normally, I don't particularly love the "doomsday cult/mindlessly ending the world" faction, but fell in love with a particular group called the Dirge of the Great Hegemon. The short version is that Beelzebub sends super plagues that reanimate the dead, when enough are reanimated by a strain they form a plague angel called a hegemon. This makes all the infected smart again, and fills them with images of plaguey paradise. But if the hegemon is defeated, all members of that strain are banished out of shame, and are forever cursed with the knowledge that they are failures.

This is... Great. I looked at that and went "how does an undead react after undead jesus arrives on earth, dies, and now you're banned from hell and know that undead heaven is now out of reach"

and my thought was "you turn to religion"

So I made the Knights of the Resurrection, followers of the lost hegemon Yersinia Rex, who hope against hope that if they just spread His Will far enough, he will return and forgive them for their sins.

Now I'm a bit poor to be kitbashing right now, so it was time for some MS Paint + Cardboard times.

These little guys inspired me enough to write a good chunk of the Yersinia Bible, a clearly accurate book of prophecies written by a fallen Lord of Tumours named Seethe.

My Turnip 28 Snobs! I've been rotating between them for Toff proper depending on the Cult I'm playing. To make them more visible on the field, I haven't mucked them up much.

First up: General Toussaint Maximilian Bolivar the 52nd

Favorite Cult: Slugs Lament, Knights of Shellwood, Lopers of Maudlin Marsh

The General sees him self as a great leader, master story teller, and theatrical genius. For every event he has a story from long ago that he will regale you with. Sure, his stories are long-winded, and they often distract him from the issue at hand but they are truly entertaining.

Next up: the first of the twins: Captain Charles "Cluck" Thadeus

Favorite Cult: Fungivorous Herd, Red Ribon Society,Temple of Swellings

While many will hide mutations in disgust or for manners, not Cluck. Cluck wears his chicken arm as a badge of honor. He sees his mutation as a spiritual connection to the noble fowl and a sign on how to live his everyday. Does not the chicken protect both man and root from flul insect parasites? Do they not provide sustenance and warn us of the rising sun? Will the rooster not give his life to protect his flock?

Cluck sees himself as the destined hero of the people, foul and the root.

Finally, the other twin: Jennifer Mantis Thadeus

Favorite Cults: Brotherhood of Greed, Grand Bombard, Feast of Chardbys

Jennifer is Cluck's opposite. She is a rat bastard cut-throat killer who enjoys inflicting pain and suffering on the world. Her troops see her as the devil, and she revels in it.

added some more mushrooms men to my collection and painted them over the weekend, plus a group shot with most of the mushroom people I've painted so far for D&D. I really love my spore druid, Hokee, and can't wait to play with him even more.

I got the two new mushroom men from @yaoi-hands420 for the holidays, who also owns the mushroom witch (sorry forgot her name), but I painted everything pictured above.

this is what my lovely boyfriend got me for christmas and my birthday, a set of mushroom dice, and a handmade mushroom dice tray to match (it flows in the dark too!). I cannot wait to play with everything together. love you both and i look forward to next session!

Re. My byzantine weeb army for trench crusade. Unfortunately, my faction variant isn't allowed, but New Antioch has mech units, so we're using their rules instead to represent auxillery forces loyal to Mt. Athos and the orthadox faith.

One of the Thelematarioi Auxiliary Units in support of the Order, the princes of Hellas quickly send these volunteer forces to the front line before they begin agitating other locals against the new faith.

OMP (Orthadox Mecha Pilot) 1, code name NiKILLas, is slowly being turned into my first Angel with a Shotgun.

I was gonna wait until he was finished, and suitably Greek, but I was too eager to make the Sanguinius joke
