Welcome to my blog. I will be doing many things here, but today I'm going to be reposting some important things. One purpose of my blog is to store recipes and ideas for home cooking.

Thanks to @skquill for inspiring me to make another video game inspired food. Today's special is... Manana's battle soup! I took a crack at this and basically combined two soup recipes of mine into one, those being a hearty meat and veggie soup with a cream of soup recipe to create this one. The result is a very savory and filling meal that you can pair with rice or toasted bread on the side. So let's begin!
Ingredients:
1/2 pound of ground beef ( This was inspired by the ingredient bunnit meat from the game, though personally you can omit from recipe if you want a meat free soup OR for higher quality add braised beef, cut into chunks and simmer for 25-30 minutes in the pot during the step where we combine the flour and broth together before adding the veggies in)
4 large potatoes peeled and cubed
½ tsp salt
3 teaspoons dried basil
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
5 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 med onion finely chopped
2 garlic cloves minced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/2 cups whole milk
2 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 cup mild or sharp cheddar cheese shredded
3/4 cup sour cream
¼ tsp ground black pepper
3 celery ribs chopped
1 daikon sliced (used for the glitter radish)
3 carrots sliced (used for the comet carrot)
1/2 cup of mushrooms
Optional ingredients: 2 tbsp of balsamic vinegar, 1 tbsp of brown sugar, a pinch of salt and pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large skillet, cook beef and 1/4 of onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain excess grease. Bring back the meat to the pan to season with a pinch of salt, pepper and add in the listed Italian seasoning, dried parsley, onion powder and basil for taste. Set aside.
OPTIONAL STEP FOR PRESENTATION PURPOSES: chop mushroom heads and slice carrots long ways, cook in a frying pan with 1 tsb. of butter and a pinch of salt. Leave on frying pan for 6 minutes untouched, in the meantime prepare vinegarette by combining balsamic vinegar, pepper, and brown sugar, stir and set aside. Go back to the veggies, stir to make sure they're an orange/brown color, turn stove to low and slowly add vinegar mixture on top. Turn off heat completely after 30 seconds more of stirring. These veggies will be nicely glazed and perfect for your toppers. If you do not wish to do this, skip this step and add mushrooms and carrots at the same time you would the celery and potato to the stew.
Next, Peel and cube the potatoes into small pieces. Add the potatoes into a pot and cover with water. Season with salt and cook for about 10 minutes or until potatoes can be pierced through easily. Drain and set aside. (Similarly, for the daikon do the same, but chop it into the star shape recognized on the top of the soup in game before boiling. It will be used as the topper. IF you do not have daikon in your local store, slice one of the potatoes into star shapes instead and boil accordingly and chop the rest to add to the soup).
Into a pot, add butter and chopped onions and sauté until onions are tender. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Whisk in flour until incorporated. Add in the milk and chicken broth and bring to a soft boil. Add the potatoes and chopped celery (if you skipped the balsamic vinegar step also add in the carrots and Mushroom now), add in the cooked ground beef. Give it 10 minutes on medium heat to simmer and taste, if need be, season the soup with more salt and pepper. Mix in the sour cream and shredded cheese next. Bring the soup to a boil and remove from heat once a creamy consistency is achieved.
Serve into serving bowls, top with daikon stars and (if you did it) balsamic glazed mushroom and carrots. ENJOY!
Optional: serve with green onion on top for extra flavor!

 Rambleberry Juice Punch
 Ingredients:
- 1 cup raspberry juice - 1 cup blueberry juice - 1 cup blackberry juice - 1 cup cranberry juice - 1 cup orange juice - 1/2 cup lemon juice - 2 cups pineapple juice - 1 liter of sparkling water or club soda - 1/4 cup honey or simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste) - Fresh berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries) for garnish - Sliced citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, limes) for garnish - Ice cubes
 Instructions:
1. Mix the Juices: In a large punch bowl, combine the raspberry juice, blueberry juice, blackberry juice, cranberry juice, orange juice, lemon juice, and pineapple juice. Stir well to ensure all the juices are thoroughly mixed.
2. Sweeten (Optional): If you prefer a sweeter punch, add honey or simple syrup to the juice mixture. Start with a small amount and adjust to taste, stirring until the sweetener is completely dissolved.
3. Chill: Cover the punch bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour, or until thoroughly chilled. This allows the flavors to meld together.
4. Add Sparkling Water: Just before serving, add the sparkling water or club soda to the punch bowl. Stir gently to combine.
5. Prepare Garnishes: Add fresh berries and sliced citrus fruits to the punch for a beautiful and flavorful garnish.
6. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the Rambleberry Juice Punch over the ice. Add additional fruit garnishes to each glass if desired.
Tips: - Customization: Feel free to adjust the types of juices based on availability or preference. You can also experiment with other fruit juices like pomegranate or cherry. - Alcoholic Version: For an adult twist, add a splash of vodka, rum, or sparkling wine. - Herbal Infusion: Add a few sprigs of fresh mint or basil for an herbal note.
Enjoy your refreshing Rambleberry Juice Punch!

Moondrop Punch
Ingredients:
Blue fruit punch or blue raspberry drink
Lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP)
Lemon sorbet or vanilla ice cream
Optional: Gummy moon-shaped candies for garnish
Instructions:
In a punch bowl or large pitcher, mix blue fruit punch with lemon-lime soda. You can adjust the ratio based on your taste preferences.
Add scoops of lemon sorbet or vanilla ice cream to the punch mixture. This creates a frothy, moon-like texture.
Stir gently to combine without losing the fizz from the soda.
Optionally, you can garnish with gummy moon-shaped candies on the rim of the glasses.

Cookie recipe from In Stars and Time! In the manual of the game.
They aren’t very good, they taste like salty bread, a savory chocolate chip muffin. Further thoughts under the cut
Makes about 36, 30 gram cookies.
The sugar wasn’t mixed into the butter, but instead the flour. Weird, made everything harder to mix, but in the end it all combined fine. Wouldn’t recommend making unless you have an electric mixer though!
The batter tasted extremely salty, a teaspoon is a LOT of salt to add to a recipe. It was also bitter almost? I would probably double the sugar and half the salt at least. Sugar also had a huge effect in texture, not just sweetness, which explains the bready texture.
Bottoms were dark before the tops got golden brown, maybe cook at 350 instead?
Cookies kept their shape when baking, looked pretty accurate to the drawing. You could flatten them if you wanted, results in a dryer cookie.
If you ignore the chocolate it tastes and smells like bread, very salty bread

I was thinking.
At first read, I thought Harding's apple pasta dish sounded uniquely gross, but then I remembered.
I'm Hungarian.
I'm no stranger to sweet pasta, especially not as a main dish; I grew up eating pasta with semolina and jam. I used to regularly have just straight up walnut- or poppy seed spaghetti. We fucking put sugar, black pepper, and steamed cabbage on pasta without batting an eye. We truly do not give a fuck. Pasta to us isn't even a carb, it's a vehicle.
I bet I could make an Apple Cheesy Butter Pasta that is actually good, and it would not even take as much finessing as I had initially thought.
Like, most I'd actually need to do to make it palatable is probably just swapping the semi-hard cheese I was envisioning to like a cottage cheese, and make the "apple" bit kind of an oldschool Hungarian granny-style apple pie filling with sugared cinnamon and grated tart apples.
Maybe I'd add a bit of goat cheese, or a bit of fresh mozz or some burrata to the top for the bubbly-cheesy-melty factor that Lace mentions, but other than that, if I disregard my first "ew, savory noodles swimming in too much store-bought applesauce with sharp cheddar on top" impression, it's not even that quirky a dish.
