Charlastor: ship or lie

Charlastor, a ship that has been bothering me lately, apparently we have confirmed that Charlastor will not happen (unfortunately, I haven't seen this confirmation from the author, only other people writing about it, as if someone had a screenshot of this confirmation directly saying "No, Charlastor won't happen", it would be nice to reblog with this screenshot :) )

This will be a long post, I recommend arming yourself with a lot of popcorn :)

Many people are against Charlastor, their arguments are:

Alastor is aroace: although I saw a lot of people who wrote that they are aroace and ace, and yet they ship Charlastor, because being both ace and aroace doesn't mean that you cannot be in a relationship, you can be, but this relationship will look a bit otherwise, all people who bring up this argument are shooting themselves in the foot and unfortunately it shows how many people have no idea what it means to be an ace or aroace and without any actual knowledge about it, explain to others what it means, it shows how people who don't like something are able to run blindly, as long as they stick to their opinion, instead of looking around and first looking for information and making sure that they are right, and it's not that difficult to get information, after all we live in the 21st century and we have the Internet...

,,Asexuality is understood as a state in which a person does not feel sexual attraction or desire for people of the same sex or the opposite sex, or for any other objects. An asexual individual usually does not engage in sexual behavior and does not feel the need for sexual contact. It is a permanent lack of sexual drive.

So Alastor doesn't feel sexual attraction or romantic attraction, but it still doesn't mean he can't have a relationship with someone, he can, it just will look different, we could say that for most people who feel attraction and romantic, such a relationship, that the aroace person enters into can be described as platonic for us, but it will still be a relationship and attention... such people can still have sex: ,,There are two things to distinguish: sexual attraction and sexual behavior. Alastor will never fall in love and will never feel sexual attraction, but he can still have sex and can enter into a deeper relationship with someone.

Another argument is Charlie has a girlfriend: yes, he does, but it doesn't mean that this relationship will last forever, is there any confirmation from the author that it will never change(?), not saying that they are canon, because they are canon at the moment, but that they are canon and will always be canon, does anyone have such confirmation...(?), if so, please reblog it with a screenshot :)

Another is that Alastor sees Charlie as his daughter: this has already been confirmed by the author, that Alastor only said this to upset Lucifer and in fact, there is no father-daughter relationship between Alastor and Charlie. Link to tiktok where the author talks about it:

And the last argument, the rarest one, but still, that Charlie is too young or too naive for Alastor (twice in the comments, once on YT, another time on Tiktok, I even saw someone writing that this ship is pedophilia.....): age first:

So if we take biological age, of course Alastor will be about 20 years older than Charlie, if we take chronological age, then Charlie will be so much older than Alastor that it's incomparable :D

But all this happens in hell, in an animated black comedy, so in my opinion such a thing doesn't matter much, because both of them don't age very much anyway, but coming to Charlie's naivety, Charlie is a lot, a lot, a lot... older than Alastor, so technically she should be more experienced and learned about life (especially in hell), so why isn't she... because in my opinion, Lilith and Lucifer kept her in a protective bubble of safety instead of her being convinced to in her own skin, what is living in hell..., that's why Charlie is so naive, sweet, etc., but nevertheless she still has the devil in herself..., we see it in the pilot, when she gets angry on TV, we see it in the series , when he gets mad at Susan in the cannibal town, we see it during the fight with Adam, Charlie is still part demon and he also has his dark part, which I think will become more and more visible in the series, not in the context of her becoming evil, but that she will become more experienced, self-confident and will be a born leader of hell, but for this she still needs to learn a little and remember that she is much more powerful than Alastor will ever be, she just needs to learn to use her powers ;)

Also in the future, in my opinion, Charlie will be much more powerful, with more power, experience, etc., than Alastor, Alastor will only be one of the most important catalysts for her, "she has so much potential that I could guide":

the question is whether Alastor will be in able to guide (control) her when she discovers her potential..., in my opinion: NO, and just as Alastor's deal with Charlie will bite Charlie, this attempt to use Charlie and direct her potential will bite him..., which in my opinion they will learn a lot from each other :)

So, the whole argument that Charlie will be manipulated by Alastor, that he would be the "stronger one in the relationship", in my opinion, will no longer make sense in the future, because this power dynamic will change... and besides, it would be strange if the princess hell didn't spread her wings at all throughout the entire series and remained just as naive, sweet, unaware and etc..., the characters must evolve.

And now that all the arguments against have been countered, it's time to move on to forshadowings.

Many people write that all these forshadowings are just fanservice, and sure, maybe... but it's really hard for me to believe that so many details like this would be done just for fanservice... it would be terribly rude and, in my opinion, bad writing, because sure, one forshadowing, two forshadowings, even three forshadowings don't do anything, but when you start getting four, five, SIX of them... it gets weird... and it's hard to say that it doesn't mean anything..., sorry, but for me, if there is so much of this, then either it will happen, or the creators are pigs doing something like this (let's be honest) for money..., so I believe that there must be something more here, but first before I will write about forshadowings, I will also refer to the canonical relationship, i.e. Chaggie, why I am against this relationship... because this relationship is, firstly, terribly boring in my opinion, in the context that I feel absolutely no chemistry between Vaggie and Charlie, nothing, zero, total null..., and Vaggie herself is an empty character for me, apart from her past, which did not affect her relationship with Charlie in any way, apart from a momentary (literally a tiny momentary) quarrel and had no real far-reaching consequences and apart from her getting a weapon to fight, she has no purpose in the show other than Charlie..., her entire being, her existence is based on Charlie, she takes care of the hotel for Charlie, she takes care of the residents for Charlie, she gets the weapons for Charlie, she does everything for Charlie, and don't get me wrong, on the one hand, it's great to have a girl who cares about you and cares so much, but, well..., apart from Charlie, she has no other reason for existence, she has no life, no goals, no desires, which makes her a characterless character, and I don't mean her personality per se, but her being as a character, who she is to the Hazbin Hotel arc apart from being Charlie's girlfriend... NOBODY and that terribly offends me if she got some actual development, or her past was better handled not in a "oh you were an angel, you didn't tell me, I'm mad at you" - five minutes later after talking to Rosie and Carmilla - "I forgive you, let's go back to the old way, as if your past didn't exist", why..., WHY..., why was it done this way....

Sometimes, even despite all of Vaggie's care and her involvement in Charlie, I think that this relationship is toxic, precisely because Charlie saved Vaggie, took her, and from that moment, it can be safely said that Vaggie became independent from Charlie, If it was a man-woman pair and the man saved the woman and then she was completely focused on him, just like Vaggie on Charlie, most people would probably call such a relationship toxic immediately without blinking an eye, because the woman is dependent on her savior... and why doesn't anyone think this way about Vaggie... after all, it's the same situation... so until they give me the development of Vaggie's character, some of her thread, HER and ONLY HER, I see this connection first of all no chemicals, and secondly, toxic for Vaggie... even though Vaggie became addicted to Charlie, in a sense, of her own free will (I don't see Charlie forcing her to do anything, that's not what I mean :D ). and I regret that they don't have more closer interactions with each other in season one, because I'm curious what their dynamics would be, because maybe Angel Dust and Vaggie would have better chemistry... and I know that a lot of people ship Angel Dust with Husk, me too :) , but I would still like to see if the Vaggie + Angel Dust relationship would be better, especially since Vaggie and Angel Dust are characters that quickly reach for weapons, as Vaggie's caring nature could, in my opinion, help Angel Dust a lot, and Angel Dust with his more libertarian character (apart from his bond with Valentine) could cause Vaggie's development as a character with his own dreams, desires, etc., but this is just my thought :)

But the thing is that all the previous pairs, Millie-Moxxie, Stolas-Blitz, Fizz-Ozzie are canonical in the Helluva Boss series, from Hazbin Hotel we have one canonical pair Chaggie and one non Charlastor and of course you can write "it's fanservice", so where are the Alastor-Lucifer things (this ship is extremely popular), where is Husk-Dust, where are the other Helluva Boss ships... So this is a bit of an odd post for someone who wouldn't have planned for Alastor and Charlie to be together, sure it was in 2018, but still....

Besides, I will also say this... why make Charlie bisexual if she will only be in a relationship with Vaggie..., we know she is bisexual because we know she once had a boyfriend, Seviathan, but why add that to the story... and sure there are many stories of couples in which one is bi and the other is gay, but... in all the series and books on this topic that I have watched and read, it has always been connected with the thread that a bi person discovers his/her a new sexuality that she/he had no idea about before, and of course, you can also leave it like this: Charlie is bi, she used to have a boyfriend, now she has a girlfriend, and that's the end of it, but still... it just seems weird to me because it doesn't I've also come across the idea of ​​making someone bi without using it... I would like to talk about the Music Festival arc - aka my favorite Mairuma arc until now. I love them all tbh, this is just very close to my heart for several reasons. They are building together this beautiful show full of emotions and desire, and honestly performing with other people is really an amazing feeling (I am a former musician and theater actor - let me tell you, every performance was fire). They are shocked, but happy! And definitely feeling ...feelings. And here is my main takeaway: I am really, really sad that sex is a taboo topic in our society, and when there's something about sex, it's mostly treated in a very bad way. This includes sex scenes in generic-audience movies, which I tend to dislike... I hate that sex is handled like a dirty and secret thing. I hate that sex is mostly treated as something that has to do with power imbalance and taking advantage of someone else, usually men that "want to do stuff TO" women (nonbinary individuals like myself not found) - and too often not in a hot and consensual way. I hate that social media are becoming more and more sex-hostile, because investors fear these topics, and use children as a shield to justify limiting contents for adults as well. I hate that sexual education is mainly reserved for talking about pregnancies and, if the students are lucky, prevention of STDs. Solo or reciprocal pleasure? Consent? Treating it as a normal part of life for many people (and not ALL, again, asexual people exist)??? Naaaah, why do that, when you can make people feel shame and embarassment and perpetuate trauma. Again, I am a grown-up now, and while this is legal and everything, I was conditioned to feel some level of shame nonetheless when talking about it irl (which I am working on). The whip I was writing about before (and the kneeling scene afterward)? It was a revolution in my brain. "So... That's a thing we can do...?"

(like that) I plan on doing some adult drawings in the future, but there's a part of me that resists the idea, because adult entertainment usually involves some level of dehumanization... But you know what? I want to take it back and make it about pleasure and enjoyment as it should be. Tbh, I could write a whole essay on the causes for all of the above and how they interact (patriarchy, capitalism, religions as power institutions, etc.), but this is not the place. So I'll just say that I am really, really grateful to Nishi for including this arc in a manga for a young audience, as those are important years to build a healthy relationship with pleasure and one's own body. And as Sullivan said...

I'm very much convinced that Nishi is doing a great job at sending messages for inclusion and social equality in M!IK, taking the role of educator herself. (Other reasons why I love the Music Festival arc are: Soi's story, Clara and Azz becoming closer, Iruma learning the piano, the appreciation of music itself, the immaculate art and more, but that's for another post!!!)

・So you create a space where she is allowed to dump her things. It actually made it a lot easier. You’ve dubbed it ‘Luna’s Space’ 

・Even though she can ‘Accio’ her things, she actually needs her wand to do that, and she also forgets her wand. 

・Yes, there are a lot of animals in and around your household

・Luna cannot help but attract them

・And they’re usually a mix of muggle animals as well as magical animals 

・Bowtruckles that like to hide in your jacket pockets, jackalope’s that like to sneak inside and fall asleep in front of the fire, a kneazle who actually bonded with you and rarely leaves your side (gets upset when you have to leave her at home)

・You cook as Luna is ghastly at making food 

・But she tidies up and makes sure the fire is always burning (for some reason she’s always cold)

・Nights snuggling on the couch, sharing a big fuzzy blanket and staring into the flames,, or reading a book

・Is very messy. He leaves his clothes scattered around the place. You’ve told him that if he continues to do it then you’ll shrink his clothes.

・Is quite social so there’s usually someone coming around each week (either George or Lee Jordan)

・Ultimately he wants to learn about different forms of magic so he can incorporate it into his life and work

・You do visit Molly a lot, and sit down with her, Ginny and Hermione to discuss life

・Arthur becomes a great confidant as well. He has some great knowledge, espcially about his son

・Fred has extravagant gifts for you. They may not be expensive since he’s saving money, but he does want to make you feel special

・In terms of pets, Fred wants ones that can be useful. But sometimes you get lonely when you come home from work and he’s still at the shop

・Wanted to be the sole person in charge of decorating 

・An apartment not too far from the heart of London

・Everything in your house is a light blue with hints of silver and a dash of purple

・Took a lot of inspiration from the beauxbatons, their uniform as well as their overall aesthetic with a hint of Ravenclaw

・Everything is very orderly and she likes things in their proper places 

・For pets you both have your Hogwarts animal - hers is an owl, and you also surprised her with a completely white ragdoll kitten on her first anniversary together (she absolutely loved it)

・Cho loves to sit down with you and talk about each other’s day. What went on and such

・She’s a very touchy person so she loves when you hold her hand and cup her cheek

・She’s also in touch with her emotions and is usually the first to cry in sad situations

・Has a certain routine for her hair, and it actually does work because it is ALWAYS SHINY

・Likes board games as well

・Has a family game night with her side of the family once every two weeks

・Is surprisingly clean - 

・Always picks up after himself and does a bit of spring cleaning here and there

・He picked it up from his mother; someone had to. And he was used to being the clean twin. The one who cleaned up after Fred 

・His favourite meal is a full baked roast dinner. With Yorkshire puddings and loads of gravy. 

・Once a week you visit the Burrow for dinner. And Molly fusses over you two, saying that you need to eat more. You always leave with a whole sack full of random items for the house. Old lamps, rolls of toilet paper, once she gave you a side table

・Fred is a constant visitor at your and George’s place. He’s almost living there himself

・There’s even been a few times where he’s gotten you groceries 

・George is terrible at saying no to you, so whatever you want, you always get

・Your home is practically the Burrow - you liked the feel of George’s home so much that you did your best to recreate it but add a bit of you in as well

・George absolutely loves living with you. His heart is always full.

・Sometimes he’ll come home and Fred will be in the kitchen, rummaging through the pantry while you’re on the lounge reading, drawing or listening to music 

・It’s a quiet life but George loves it. It’s a reprieve from the shop with Fred, which is always loud and chaotic

・You do visit him and he always has a beaming smile on his face when he sees you

・At home there’s a room full of packages for the joke shop. Some simply toys, others potions and oils. Do you test them out? Sure do - George is happy for you to do so 

𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐲

・Grew up with everything handed to her on a silver platter

・Once she changed her view on muggles, her family basically threw her out 

・Taking pity on her, and thinking the world can be better, you created a friendship. Friendship grew to relationship and that grew to love. 

・So, instead of being merely roommates, you were now a couple

・She’s not the easiest person to get along with. But once you both found your flow, then you were both settled. 

・Pansy forced her femininity in school, but she found that she actually preferred to take on the ‘masculine roles. 

・Can’t lie magic is still a big help though, and Pansy would be absolutely lost if she was in the muggle world 

・Your friends are now her friends. It took a lot of time for them to get around the idea, especially Ginny, but turns out they bonded really deeply

・When Ginny invited the both of you to the Burrow one day Pansy cried that very night

・She had never seen a family like this

・There was so much love. And Mrs Weasley was so attentive.

・One of the things that Pansy loved the most was when Mrs Weasley called her “dear”

・And you nearly cried because it’s such a little thing and Pansy never got to experience that

・He wasn’t sure how you wanted to go about this

・Because Harry grew up in the muggle world, as did you, so you were both excited to find the charms that would make domestic life easier 

・Like in the Burrow, where Mrs Weasley had the chores done by magic 

・So you and Harry went to Hermione to find the charms (for some reason Flitwick hadn’t taught that)

・The first time you used it, you and Harry jumped up in the air and wooped. You high fived and kept doing it on different items

・It’s one of your favourite memories 

・Headmaster McGonnagall comes to dinner every second Tuesday - she wanted it to be weekly but she was just too busy. 

・She comes in her robes and is tight lipped when she first enters your home. But after she sits down, her demeanour changes. 

・Minerva knows what she can and can’t say, but when she’s had a few wines she becomes loose-lipped 

・Once she turned into her animagus and fell asleep on your lap, purring loudly

・Sometimes you have to leave the room because her and Harry have very intense conversations; you just want to give him privacy - he never wants you to leave. But you’re usually make ten minutes later with three steaming cups of tea 

・You have framed pictures of Dumbledore, Hagrid and Snape hanging on the hallway walls

・His parents are in the centre on the fireplace mantelpiece 

・The first night you slept in your own home, Harry cried. When you asked why, he told you a story about the Dursleys

・And then you started crying as well

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞  

・Busy lifestyle. She always has something to do, so you both split the chores 50/50 as you both work

・Things always have their place. And when they aren’t in their place Hermione does her best not to lose it

・And the house is always clean (she knows all the charms)

・The kitchen cleans itself, the bed is always made, shoes are at the front door etc

・They’re charms that are a few steps ahead of what Mrs Weasley uses (Hermione learnt them while reading of course). Once she tried to tell Mrs Weasley about them and the red-headed woman practically walked away (she thinks her way is best). 

・You’ve asked Hermione to teach you everything she knows, that’s why your relationship works. You love her intelligence and knowledge. 

・She isn’t that big on pets though, and has a 5 year plan

    “I’m sorry Y/n, but having a pet wasn’t a part of our plan.” 

“Hermione please, look at him!” 

・She absolutely crumbled when you did the puppy dog eyes while holding the puppy against your face

    “...okay fine, but I’m not picking up any poo.” (She most certainly did.)

・So you have beagle called Finley. And Hermione pretended to be indifferent with him for about a week, and then she fell in love

・Finley goes everywhere with you two, and Hermione’s parents are shocked when the three of you turn up to dinner

   “Umm, sweetheart why-”

“This is Finley, mum and dad, please treat him with respect.”

𝐑𝐨𝐧  

・He had no idea where to start when you first moved in together. He was an absolute mess

   “I just don’t know what you mean by decorating! This is too stressful-”

・Has Harry around a lot. Or at least, asks him to come around a lot

・You guys go to the Burrow at least once a week for a family dinner - everyone is there, and when someone can’t attend, Mrs Weasley is nearly on the brink of tears

・After Ron gets used to the idea of living in his own place, with you. He starts to settle. He finds his routine. 

・He’s usually the last one to wake up and the last to go to bed.

・Absolutely adores sweets, and keeps a whole drawer full next to his bed. In the middle of the night you’ll hear a rustle and it’s Ron opening a chocolate frog

  “Aw, Dumbledore again-”

・Sends howlers to Fred and George, specifically to their shop so they’ll open them in the middle of the store

・You told Ron it was a terrible idea because they hit back 5x harder

・Harry tells Ron about television and Ron absolutely loses it, goes out and buys one the next day 

・His favourite programmes are the Vicar of Dibley and Absolutely Fabulous (although pretends to hate it - turns it off whenever you come into the room), 

𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐲  

・So excited to move in together!!!

・Her parents are extra pushy because she’s their little girl. But they know you’ll look after her (which is true, but Ginny is the one who wears the pants in this relationship) 

・A lot of Quidditch posters and books

・You have to tell her not to ride her broom in the house 

・Wants to adopt ALL THE DOGS

・She’s at Quidditch practice a lot, so you usually get the things you need to get done in that time so when she comes back you can spend time together

・Ginny is always bringing you back flowers. And they’re huge bouquets. They’re different every time 

・Likes to surprise you with her cooking skills because Mrs Weasley is a bit traditional that way (she didn’t teach her sons how to cook)

・Actually doesn’t cry that often and has her sh*t together most of the time 

・Or she seems like she has her shit together most of the time

・Very good at remembering appointments and the like

・Didn’t care much about decorating the place, but did want it to be cosy like the Burrow

・Has little knick knacks on the kitchen window sill

・And wears gloves while she does the dishes 

𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞  

・I think it’s pretty obvious, but Neville’s home would be COVERED with plants. Vines growing on poles, flowers blooming across window sills, 

・He waters, feeds and tends to them everyday. Not missing a single one. 

・Neville is awake at about 5:30am to do all of it

・Because by that time it’s nearly 7:45 and he has to get ready for work

・Never leaves to go anywhere without giving you a kiss

・Feeds the birds but doesn’t realise that that means a whole flock will came back next time

・You go to see his parents with him at St. Mungos hospital

・And you hold him as he cries in your arms afterwards

・Has nightmares about his parents and it wakes you up in the middle of night

・You met his grandmother and although you have to give her credit for raising Neville, she was quite horrible to him. 

・You’ve told Neville that you will have a go at her if she says one bad thing about him (that includes passive aggressiveness, alluding to him, or anything that could be seen as an insult)

・He loves you for it

・But still has a soft place in his heart for the woman that raised him

𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐨  

・After the Battle of Hogwarts Draco’s perspective of the world changed

・He saw horrors as well as allowed horrors to happen. He felt immense guilt. 

・And his relationship with his father was practically ruined 

・His mother was the only parent he saw. But she still had the outlook that purebloods were the only people worthy of respect

・Draco knew he had to make amends. His conscience was heavy. 

・So he went back to Hogwarts and asked the Headmistress McGonaggal how to make up for his wrong doings. 

・That’s how you and Draco got together

・After some time, when your relationship was established, he moved out of the Malfoy Mansion and in with you

・It was a difficult transition, especially the fact that there was no one to wait on him hand and foot

・You taught him how to cook - or at least the charms on how to do so 

・At first it was goddamn hard, but he endured

・And the look on your face when he got it right ... god ... he needed to impress you again and again. Just to see that look. 

・Turns out he’s actually he very good cook. Not that great at cleaning up after himself, but luckily you live in a world of magic 

・You even let him decorate wherever he wished

・He chose quite gothic dark academia style 

・Rich colours; deep emerald, dark blue, burgundy, maroon

・His mother was still giving him money though-

・And you said that he should invite her over

・That first dinner was especially difficult. The look on her face when she walked in ... you could read exactly what she was thinking ‘small, ... poor, why would he give up living with me for this.’

・But the love for her son outweighed the prejudice in her heart

Hey Pinnie! Just wanted to ask, are you an objectum at any sort of degree? And if not, do you think any of your monsters would be one, perhaps? I feel like Fank-E and Sybastian would be, ngl,,,,

(To be clear, an Objectum is a person who feels sexual attraction towards inanimate objects, like computers and PCs, smart phones and rotary phones, security cameras, TVs, radios, even bridges and statues, etc)

[This is a bit hard to answer.

Because, as far as I know (and I'm not very well educated on this), there are degrees of objectum. There's someone who finds a specific computer really sexy, then there's someone who designs a somewhat anthropomorphic being off of said computer and finds it sexy. I fall mostly onto the latter.

Sometimes I'll doodle a creature/monster based off a mask because I find that mask appealing. Other times I'll make a monster based on a lollipop, like this. (Twitter link will likely not work unless you're logged in.) Point being, I make characters out of objects, the object itself is not enough.

Furthermore, does feeling sexually attracted to a robot that is clearly not sentient or a person make me an objectum? Because the K-Trons from Valerian have me on a chokehold. I also feel attracted to mech suits who aren't sentient, like jeagers (boy. I wanted November Ajax and Obsidian Fury to frot on-screen.)

I don't really know if I can say I'm objectum or not, so I'm probably borderline objectum.]

Fun fact!! Xiko is explicitly an objectum. His greed and love for his possessions goes far, very far. In particular, he has a rare and gorgeous chalice in his collection, merely handling it causes him great arousal. It's not uncommon for him to pleasure himself while caressing or pressing the chalice against him.

There's potential for Fank-e and Sybastian to have objectum experiences as well, now that you mention it. Sybastian likely has shapes he finds more stimulating to turn into than others, so he'd be an auto-objectum (does that exist?) more than anything. He even enjoys having sex with you in various shapes.

Fank-e would likely feel attracted to specific tech, probably anything that falls into one of his strange frutiger aero aesthetics.

I would like to preface this with: I am not an expert in all of these identities (despite being a part of them) and my connection to them is hugely shaped by my own experience and interpretation of each label. My only hope with all this is to hopefully make someone feel less alone, (because my god i spent a long time finding some of these labels-)

Aceflux

Aceflux us defined as a person with a fluctuating feeing of sexual attraction to others, I sort of think of it like a dial being turned up and down based on the moment. (there are also romantic and aroace versions of the label I beleive, along with another variation of the flag with a purple/red gradient striping.)

In my own experience that results in differing kinds of days, some where I feel really strong attraction, others where I feel little to none. Sometimes it changes day to day, sometimes its the same for weeks, or it changes throughout the day based on context.

This label was one that took me. An entirely too long time to find. and this is one that feels. right. because I had very flexible and changing feelings and attraction, I knew I could place myself somewhere on the ace spectrum, but not exactly where because it wasn't consistent at all (wowee i wonder why that is because its not like thats the whole thing lmao) and I ended up cycling through so many aspec labels. This is one that I can feel comfortable in, and I'm hoping others resonate with it as well.

Queer

Queer is an umbrella term and very ambiguous identity that can essentially encompass anyone that identifies with it.

So- my sexuality is. incredibly nuanced and complicated when it comes to describing who I find myself romantically, aesthetically, or platonically attracted to (I know there are so many other ways to be attracted to someone, those are just the simplest for me to explain). For example: I can (when allowed by my silly demiromantic ass) be romantically attracted to men and masc (or even non aligned) presenting and identifying people, and I in fact, have a lovely boyfriend whom I love a lot! And as for femme aligned people its more interesting because I don't feel particularly romantically about them, but I can experience aesthetic, or platonic forms of attraction, and Queer is simply a label that I connect with that has the space to encompass all of that.

Demiromantic

Demiromantic is a label that essentially encompasses the idea that an individual doesn't feel romantic attraction to another unless they have an emotional or platonic bond with that person. (there is also an ace and an aroace version, which I think is super neat)

Demiromantic is a label that I personally connect with, be that because I'm naturally incredibly slow to make connections, or maybe connected to the fact that I'm very neurodivergent, (although thats a post for another day-) and feeling comfortable being and feeling romantic about someone is already incredibly rare, and I feel like I need a connection to someone personally until I can feel romantically (I say that like I control when I feel romantic. Its kinda. I dunno I can't control it. this label is just one I felt encompassed it. which is the point.)

Transgender

Transgender is an umbrella term in which someone doesnt connect or identify with the assigned gender given at birth. (I'm very sure I have made it no secret that I am transmasc. We love the transes here)

However. no matter how many labels I find to express and explain my gender being 'masculine' (with several different question marks. I'm a boy in the same way orange soda is the same as a regular orange. same sorta spirit. completely different executions.) above all. I am still trans. and I will always be trans. that's who I am <33

My gender is. an interesting topic. In the way that I have not yet found a label to describe it other than being transmasc. which I know as different to being a trans 'man' in the fact that I didnt transition to be a 'man', not binarily being a man. I bounce between being androgynous and being masculine, but in a way where labels like demigendered/demiboy or boyflux (other labels I've considered) don't seem to fit. because it is in a way where some days I feel more or less masculine to completely genderless. (If anyone can think of a label that fits that- I would love to hear it. I haven't even gotten into My pronoun search. maybe a seperate post on that later.)

I’m just curious because you’re such a multifaceted person and gender and sexuality are so multifaceted. You mentioned that like, you don’t think you’re this icon of gender that everyone thinks you are but I don’t think you’re as far off as you think you are. You’ve never (at least that I have seen) claimed to have it all figured out. You sort of just walk into the room and go, “This is what I’m doing right now! Is it what I’ll be doing tomorrow? I don’t know!” It’s very David Bowie. So I thought maybe in terms of your sexuality you’ll likely be in a similar state of, “I know what I don’t like, but I’m still discovering what I do like because every day is a new adventure!”

hmm!! hmm... i think it's tough to pinpoint, because i've not had a lot of crushes in my time with people i know on a personal level - and, i haven't really been in a lot of relationships, and when i have it's usually been people pursuing me and me just, giving up the fight (sighs) - but when i do have a crush it's usually an emotional bond that makes them so attractive to me. it's not that they're not physically attractive too, of course they are, but it's kind of the emotional side that makes every little bit of them homina homina, you know. not to be gay about it.

i think even celebrity crushes i have are more about their inexplicable vibes more than their physical features. vibes have to be immaculate. i need to think "yeah. i wanna hang out with them. i think they could make me laugh."

though of course there's people out there who are objectively gorgeous, and i'm not immune to that. i know when someone's gorgeous. i - well, i don't know. i'm just (waves hands around) bisexual. i'm very bisexual. i find a lot of people attractive. from all parts of the gender and aesthetic spectrum. i don't think i could point at one thing and say "oh so that's what does it for me" - i think maybe just... enthusiasm and good vibes. friendly and approachable. not intimidating. kissable (whatever that means).

i'm easily scared away by people who seem intense. because i'm very skittish. so... people that are approachable and make me feel comfortable and safe, yeah. god. feeling safe with someone. yeah. that gets me hot under the collar. when i'm with someone i can feel free and comfortable with, and they kind of get it - and they know how to not scare me away, that's great. i've had a lot of interest in me from a lot of people that just kind of didn't get me, or think i'm something else, and all i want to do is get out of that situation. i can't do it, i can't do it. it - it kind of makes relationships difficult for me. because it's almost a given that if someone is thinking of me in a sexual context they're misinterpreting me. it - it kind of stinks. like, i should be responsive, maybe, but it never feels comfortable, for me. i wish it felt right. it very rarely does. so - so i've turned down so, so many people. and i beat myself up about being "scared" or whatever, but - i don't think it's true. if it feels right it feels right. if it doesn't feel right - you can't - you can't force yourself to think that it is. and every time i've bitten the bullet, it - it doesn't work. because it wasn't right. sometimes i think there's something wrong with me. but - i... i don't know. i've had this realisation that nearly all of the intimate relationships i've ever had, i've been a bit of a cornered animal. and i hate that realisation. it kind of stinks to realise that. kicks the dirt. god, i need more positive experiences.

i definitely feel more comfortable with afab people - i've - well, i've never had a positive encounter with anyone amab. not a one. i know that i shouldn't hold it against them, but it does something about my degree of comfort, yep. and i just think afab parts are prettier. (i'm right. they are.)

but i think, you know, while everybody has their clothes on, i don't really have preferences when it comes to femme vs masc, really. like when it comes to actors and things it's a 50/50 split on what actors or actresses i find attractive. in my day-to-day i'm probably more attracted to femme-presenting people, but that's generally because they put a little bit more effort into it, and their clothes and make-up are so, so pretty. i love when people display their emotions or their energy through their wardrobe. when people express themselves with all their colours or whatever. when you get a sense of who they are, and what they're about, just by looking at them. people who light up a room. i love those people. you generally find that more with femme-presenting people, and i love those girls. stay loud and proud, my girlies...

in my mind, in my subconscious, whenever i have dreams (that aren't a sordid threeway - i have a lot of those - usually with one gorgeous girl and a large, ominous faceless man) - dreams about who i'm going to wind up with, they're almost always femme-presenting. usually my age. sometimes older. shrugs. don't know what it means. just that's where my brain is at. i don't think it has to be true, but - guess it's where my brain is at.

my dad still insists that i'll end up with a man. i almost want to not, just to spite him. whenever i mention i'm attracted to a male actor he says "oh. so you are straight." he thinks i'm just confused. he says to me, "you're confused and that's okay." so i think that might be just about the full extent of acceptance i'll get from him. shrugs. i'm confused, i guess. i don't know. i think this particular thing i don't think i should or will have an answer. i don't think i'm confused. i don't feel like i need to sort it out. my options are open. i'm not scared about whatever will come. whatever is meant to happen will happen. that's - just, i guess, that's how i see it. whatever is meant to happen will happen. and it's not a problem that it hasn't happened yet. because i guess it wasn't meant to.

i think my gender stuff was always a priority - it always came first. i had my gender awakening LOOOONG before my sexual awakening (my sexual awakening like. only happened like. two years ago. honest to god.) i remember it being a bit of a problem - when i was forging my gender path back in high school, and a lot of people thought it meant something. meant that i was a cute boy who was up for dating girls. when actually i was the kind of boy who was not into girls yet. i was too busy being into comic books. i think even now, sex just - isn't my priority. it's just - it's more important for me to find people that see me for me. see me for what i am, and the sex can come later.

it's just - it's stupid, really. i find a million of you guys online who kind of get it. you're freaky weird gender like me but - in real life - i have no idea how to explain myself. i have no idea how to market myself. i can't use dating websites because i think people on both sides are going to be disappointed. and absolutely everyone who's romantically interested in me in person doesn't know how to approach me as what i am. they approach me wrong, and it scares me away on impact because - because whatever they think i am, i'm not. i'm not a butch lesbian, i'm not a transguy, i'm not a girl, i'm not a boy, i'm not... i don't know, i'm not easily marketable. i can't find my demographic. i've only found my demographic here, in my weird little spider-man corner of the internet. with likeminded freaky gendered spider-man nerds, i guess. i think maybe my dating life would be easier if i could just be one thing. but... Or am I, wait, Is the want for sex back up? Yep it is, lucky me, one less turbulence to deal with! There's too much turbulence anyway though, what the fuck...

Here, Imagine this bullshit in my brain and body throughout the day. I could feel attraction one hour and feel completely different for two hours after that and then go back to feeling it. Below are the specifics of my experience, if anyone cares...

I fluctuate between feeling romantic attraction and not doing so. When I don't feel It, though, I remain romance neutral or favorable, mostly the latter, and I use my platonic attraction to fuel the bond. That means that I should likely end up in a relationship with someone that fluctuates like me, or someone who wants to be my best friend and romantic partner interchangeably. When I feel romantic attraction, being polykin I prefer to express it with animalistic behaviours like rubbing/bumping foreheads together, bumping my head on someone's shoulder, "laughing" like an excited fox and stuff, which can cause disconnect (in a "would anyone actually want a freak like me" scenario). I also want to express myself like this with friends, but in a romantic relationship I would also feel like kissing the person.

My romantic fluctuations are more frequent than the sexual ones. I don't feel sexual attraction often, and I feel romantic attraction often.

I fluctuate between feeling sexual attraction and not doing so. I don't feel sexual attraction most of the time. When I don't feel It, I am either sex positive or something I like to call "real life sex repulsed", because I still can consume sexual content even while repulsed, given that I am alone; if it manifests itself, my repulsion only concerns actual real life sex with another person, or watching R rated stuff with someone close to me. I can also get animalistic when I feel sexual attraction, the behaviours are similar to the romantic/platonic ones but have more intensity; rubbing against a body with my whole body is another sexual behaviour, to which sounds are added. I feel like kissing the person in a lot of places, and even biting them and nibbling soflty. However these urges are muted when my sexual attraction Is absent.

To wrap things up, the "fluctuation" of sexual attraction manifests itself as a spike in sexual attraction and then prolonged periods of abscence of sexual attraction, in which I am moslty sex positive.

I often feel fearful of being a "fake" asexual and aromantic person, but It Is clear to me that I don't experience attraction the same way that alloaro peeps do. When I see an aesthetically pleasing person I feel strong platonic and sensual attraction, sometimes romantic, but never sexual; sexual attraction CAN happen if I have spoken more with the person, but it still fluctuates even then, which is why I don't use the demisexual and demiromantic labels.

It doesn't help that I have a high libido, and that when my sexual attraction is absent, which is very very often, I feel sex favourable a lot of the time and not sex repulsed; sex repulsion is as rare as sexual attraction in me. I am also kinky, I would like a d/s relationship one day with me being the sub.

I feel like I don't fit with alloaro people because if I were in a relationship with one, maybe they could feel inadequate because I don't feel sexual attraction for them, even though I would be willing to have sex anyway because sex looks fun and I like the idea a lot; and even if they accept that, what would happen if I entered a sex repulsed phase at one point of being together? I am scared that finding an alloaro partner physically pleasing and trusting them more than anyone else may not be enough for them. Also my fox behaviours are something that I have been taught are improper, and beastly (derogative), I feel dirty for them (my fox soul cries rn).

On the other hand I often hear aroace people speaking of being sex repulsed and sex neutral, romance repulsed and romance neutral, of not wanting a romantic and/or sexual relationship, and I feel exluded and fake because that is not how I feel most of the time. I am afraid that I am not aroace, actually.

At this point I would simply like to be in a relationship with a very affectionate aroace person on the greyaromantic or greysexual spectrum, but is it wrong of me to want that? Should I also add cupioromantic and cupiosexual to my identity, to avoid misconceptions?

I feel hopeless, like I'll never find someone that can love me as much as I love them. Someone to cuddle with, someone to kiss, someone to rub against and play with. Someone to be my companion.

So this year, I'd been struggling to embrace being alloplatonic. I'm already genderqueer, bi, and grey aro-ace so you'd think it'd be easy.

Except that I didn't know alloplatonic was an identity until I learned about aplatonic people on Valentine's Day this year.

Ironically, it was several years back on Valentine's Day that I realized that I rarely experience romantic or sexual attraction, and experience aesthetic attraction more.

Yet I struggled to embrace being alloplatonic for several reasons:

Being raised by a Dad who made me feel like I couldn't be "just friends" with someone of a different gender than me. Since I was AFAB, any friendships I had with boys were assumed to be related to romance or sex.

Struggling to make friends, even though I wanted them. In high school, almost every potential new friend I made ended up changing schools or schedules.

Being bullied made me scared to make friends b/c what if I try to make friends, but end up bullied again? I also felt like I wasn't good enough for friends b/c of this trauma.

The unexpected death of my Dad made me scared to get close to anyone. I considered my Dad a friend as well as my parent and losing him hurt me deeply.

People being dismissive of internet friendships

This past Sunday, my closest internet friend Jaz, gave me a shout out in their upcoming book. It touched me deeply; I cried for ten minutes. They are a Black trans friend & we've been internet friends for six years, bonding over our identities, our writing dreams, music, and more. We've kept in touch through social media, email, and chat apps and become each other's source of peer support.

Over the years, our friendship grew stronger little by little and I felt a strong platonic love for them. I loved reading their newsletter, chatting with them, seeing updates about their life and career that they were willing to share. I loved having them encourage and reassure me, and doing the same for them. I loved their empathy, when I told them about my trauma or troubles. I loved how their writing helped me learn something new about myself & the world around me. I've shown my appreciation for our friendship through poetry & digital art and they love it.

Yet, I struggled to fully bask in our friendship until very recently b/c the trauma I'd experienced and the heteronormatvity and allonormativity I'd been taught. I didn't think my strong platonic attraction was normal b/c people dismiss platonic love in favor of romantic love. I've seen this on tv, movies, and online fandoms. I also thought I wasn't worthy of friendship b/c I felt I had to be a certain way & be flawless to have friends.

My friend Jaz, repeatedly proved me wrong, but it didn't sink in until I saw these words in the Acknowledgement section of their upcoming book: "To my internet friends, whose bonds are as deep as any other. To Penn; love you!"

With this, all my fears and doubt washed away with my tears of joy.

And now, I can finally say that I love my friend Jaz. I even wrote them a poem to do so and they enjoyed it very much.

TL;DR I am alloplatonic & proud and no one will take that away from me. I love my friend Jaz and they love me platonicallly too.

Random Facts About UH3 Alastor:

His father was an on-again-off-again feature in his and his mother’s lives until Alastor was 12, and is a big part of why Alastor has BPD traits and gets along better with women than men.

(If you’re new to this AU, or missed my other Cluster B Alastor posts, hi! Author has BPD and accidentally projected onto Alastor. Now I write him as intentionally having multiple Cluster B traits that I do, as well as the ones implied by canon.)

His parents weren’t married – to each other; Alastor has a stepmother he’s never met and doesn’t want to meet.

He claims that drinking was more fun during Prohibition because it was illegal.

He has rose-colored glasses regarding the previous fact; Prohibition-era Alastor absolutely complained about how much harder it was to get alcohol after the ban went through.

He doesn’t view nudity as inherently sexual.

He’s still more comfortable with others’ nudity than his own because he equates it to vulnerability.

He’s panaesthetic and bisensual. He doesn’t know those terms even exist, but picking microlabels helps my writing stay more consistent.

His aesthetic attraction isn’t based at all on gender, but he tends to feel more comfortable with physical affection from women than from men, which skews the sensual attraction a bit.

He can be sensually attracted to men and is sensually attracted to Lucifer, but 1.) it’s rarer and/or takes longer for Alastor to develop sensual attraction to a man, and 2.) Lucifer isn’t a man in the human gender binary sense of the word.

Lucifer is the only nonbinary person Alastor has ever felt any kind of attraction to, but that has more to do with lack of exposure to nonbinary people than anything regarding Alastor’s tertiary orientations.

Alastor may or may not have some gender fuckery of his own going on, but I doubt I’ll ever be exploring that in the main series.

I would describe Alastor’s gender as “man by default.” He doesn’t think about it very often. He’s not exactly an egg; it’s not that he’s in denial or unaware that being something besides a man is an option, it’s that he doesn’t care enough to pick a different label. He’s not dysphoric about being a man, but he’s not supper attached to the idea, either.

I think if he was born into Gen Z, he might identify as agender or cassgender, but as it stands, he inhabits the liminal space between, “I don’t feel strongly about my gender, which means I’m cis,” and “I don’t feel strongly about my gender, which means I’m not cis.” (Both valid experiences, btw.)

He’s 100% the type of person to tell a traumatic story from his childhood as if it’s a funny one and not understand why everyone’s looking at him like that.

He legitimately thinks that these stories are funny, because he’s twisted them around in his mind as an attempt to cope, but they retain enough of the original detail that on the rare occasion he decides to joke about them out loud, people go, “that’s kinda fucked up, actually.”

He has low empathy, but not no empathy. Every now and again, he does actually get some empathy, and every time he does it feels like a slap in the face – surprising and very unpleasant. If he could turn it off entirely, he probably would.

Remorse is a similar ordeal, rare but not unheard of, and he actively denies feeling it.

I started to write more about Alastor’s relationship with the concept of remorse, and remorse vs regret, but honestly, it needs its own post.

I projected a lot of my ace experience onto him, including the idea that kissing is boring 9 times out of 10. Not necessarily unpleasant, just… Boring. If there’s blood or biting or some form of D/s element, then it can be exciting, but otherwise we don’t get it.

I wanted to jot down some tips of ways to write asexual and aromantic characters, even if you never confirm their identity. It helps make your story more diverse and represent a wider variety of lived experiences.

First I'll start with the asexual that doesn't want to have sex. Ever. And they don't. If you write a character that says they don't want to have sex ever and isn't even open to the idea only to have them 180, this is something I personally find distasteful. If you want to have them start saying they don't want it but then change their mind, you need to put in a significant amount of work in the character's self discovery. If all you've done is say 'they met the right person' that's really fucked up and you can do better or don't call yourself an ally. No state of being is permanent, but in order for things we think are fundamental about ourselves to change, something has to actually change.

Your asexual character who doesn't have sex might pair up with another asexual, be part of an open relationship/polycule, have a partner who doesn't mind only getting themself off, or never end up in a life partnership. There are lots of options!

Next is the asexual that does have sex sometimes, maybe under specific circumstances such as to have children, or on special occasions, or maybe they like to have sex on occasion with a partner or partners bc they like how close it makes them feel. Not every asexual is sex repulsed, but some are neutral and could take it or leave it.

Another asexual character might have a lot of sex bc they like how it feels! Other characters might think they have sex indiscriminately bc attraction isn't involved. They might have casual sex with friends bc it's a fun thing to do with people you like. You might not know this character is asexual from the outside looking in, but the author's knowledge informs the story and the character's behavior.

Some asexual characters might not even masturbate while some might have many partners. The term asexual is a wide umbrella on purpose.

If you want to write someone on the ace spectrum I'd recommend looking into how real people feel about experience attraction rarely or for the first time. It's can feel really strange and the person might not necessarily know what they're experiencing at first. They might confuse it with aesthetic or sensual attraction.

Let's go to aromantic characters next! Starting with aromantic characters who don't want anything to do with romance. They might not even like stories involving it! Again, if they desire a life partner or partners they might look for someone who is aromantic, or doesn't mind not being romantic, or be in an open relationship/polycule, etc.

A romance neutral aromantic might not mind a partner who does romantic gestures or might even on occasion attempt romance themselves. Romance can be a fun nice thing to make someone you care about feel special, it doesn't have to mean the same thing to both people.

Another aromantic character might really like romance and the drama! Grand dramatic gestures can be super fun regardless of whether or not you feel that type of attraction. They might enjoy the banter of flirting.

Again, those who experience this kind of attraction rarely or for the first time might note it's foreign-ness to them or confuse it with intense platonic or mental atttaction.

There can be a lot of overlap in how these characters are written and you can mix and match different aspects with an aroace character. This is NOT an exhaustive list, that would be very long, but it can be a starting point.

... I wish she was gay... She's so Straight. She found being queer weird at first but only 'cause she never saw it 'round. Once Hina came out to her in a casual "boys" convo she was just like: "Oh... Well, that makes sense." And moved on. Got a cute lil pin with her pronouns and put it on her bag.

I swear i can't decide. It switches every time. I think his sexuality is fluid and he's unlabelled. AroAce Spec tho, doesn't really get crushes.

AroAce Spec, but he has TOO MUCH GAME. He pulls without trying. He is mostly uninterested in people and relationships. You have to be an EXTRAORDINARY person to catch his attention (I have this headcanon that he's lowkey into Shin but that's for another day). Once he falls, you are not getting rid of him.

Probably fully Aro. His true love is money. If he got into a relationship it would be a VERY slow and robotic process, until he relaxes and is like... Huh... This is nice. Then a switch flips.

(basing this off of like… asexual being a main label and something like demisexual being a microlabel. is that how microlabels work?? a lot of my f/os have these though so i won't go into great detail, so feel free to ask about specific ones if you'd like.)

stu: omnisexual (someone who is attracted to all genders where gender plays a role in one's attraction) and apresromantic (someone who experiences romantic attraction only after another form of attraction is felt).

i feel like stu is equally attracted to men and women (i won't be mentioning nonbinary people, sorry), but he knows there's a notable difference between his feelings with each. with girls, he's softer and more romantic, plays the role of a very stereotypical movie boyfriend. he loves it! he does! he just doesn't feel that same way with other boys. with those relationships, he can let out rougher sides of himself, like playfighting or knifefighting if the other agrees. he does not have to be so gentle, he knows men can understand his emotions better, at least the rougher parts. he overall feels more comfortable with men in an emotional sense.

and on the apresromantic side of things, he has to have some kind of other feelings first, like stated before. he has to have a friendship with them (platonic attraction), or think that they look really cool (aesthetic attraction), or would want to be physically close to them (sensual attraction), or would want to date them after they hook-up (sexual attraction). he can't just want to date someone based on very loosely based things. he may be a whore, but not that much of one!

stevo: heteroflexible (someone who is primarily hetero but may occasionally be attracted to the same gender) and reciprosexual (someone who only experiences sexual attraction when they know the other person is sexually attracted to them first).

stevo mainly likes girls. he had never thought of this before bob's death, but afterwards of it, while figuring himself out, he started to realize not all boys think about kissing pretty boys sometimes. he started to realize that during punk shows or parties, he'd rarely see a boy in the crowd that he thought was pretty in the way a girl is pretty. when he'd lay to go to sleep at night, he would wonder what it would've been like to kiss him, maybe hook-up with him in the bathroom, like he had done many times with girls in the past. yeah... he figured out that wasn't the case for a lot of men.

i'm basing him being reciprosexual on the fact that we only saw stevo be with sandy after they were already together, meaning she probably wanted him first? at least, that's how it happened to me. and with brandy, he said something like "so... you like me?" which to me, means he needed the confirmation for he himself to feel anything. this is even more supported because they end up kissing after this. if he feels this way romantically, he definitely feels this way sexually too. he needs to be wanted first.

tim: hyperromantic.

i see him as the clingiest motherfucker to ever live. he hangs off of his partner (me). he cannot live without being attached at the hip. he's fully draped over me 24/7. and he wants to makeout at any given chance, right in front of people. he doesn't care who sees, he just wants the closeness all. the. fucking. time.

vessel: favperromantic (someone with bpd who only experiences romantic attraction to their favorite person) and hypersexual aro (someone who is hypersexual AND aromantic).

vess becomes obsessive very quickly, which is why he only feels romantic feelings for his favorite person. the obsession and dependency were already there, so it was almost like it was a matter of time. his bpd largely effects his romantic feelings in this sense, it can mend or break him in the matter of moments. the goods are really good and the bads are the end of the world worthy. moods are very dependent upon his fp, obviously, so romantic gestures make or break this as well.

based on the "sex" in the movie, i think he's very experienced in what was asked of him. he either thinks about these things a lot, or he acts them out a lot. he loves creating scenes, whether real or in his head. it's a happy place for him, somewhere he feels the most himself. he needs this, needs it to be a rather large part of what he needs from a relationship, or multiple sexual partners, or hook-ups, or needs from himself.

simon: hypersexual.

when does simon not think about sex? it's almost like an obsession to him. he adores sex, adores it. much like ian, he loves to create scenes, real or in his head (he much prefers them to be real, he feels a bit pathetic to get himself off to such things). it feels euphoric for him, a place to fully put himself into, a good mold for him. he hates fitting into boxes, but sex is a box he doesn't mind. it gets his feelings out in all the right ways, ways music can't do for him even.

trait: demifluxsexual (someone who is demisexual but has fluctuating sexual attraction based on emotional connections. they can still have an emotional bond with another person, but the fluctuation and intensity of their sexual attraction is uncontrollable).

has a weird relationship with sex in general. she often feels almost completely asexual. i think their demifluxsexuality is more like being acespike with demisexual being added to that.

look at him and tell me he is not hyperromantic! do i need to explain this? he dotes on his partner constantly, it's unrenlentless praise. all he wants is for his darling, his pet, his sweet, to know exactly how much he adores them. he never grows tired of it, not once. he doesn't let up on it. he lets them know loud and clear just how appreciative he is that they've chosen him to love, to care for. even through disbelief, he doesn't go ungrateful. this isn't to mention how much he melts at any praise or recognition back. he will gladly accept compliment after compliment. he loves attention from his love, any at all that he can get.

art: favperplatonic (someone with bpd who only experiences platonic attraction to their favorite person).

art deals with the struggle to have any type of attraction to anyone at all. i mean, unless you would consider wanting to murder someone a type of attraction? besides, that's for his own enjoyment anyways, it's not like he picks anyone for any specific reason. so, the closest thing he can get to a type of "attraction" is through his fp, which is something that's hard to understand with his lack of attraction. though, his fp extends off of who a safe person is for him with his avpd.

glenn: coeoromantic (someone who will only experience romantic attraction to someone if they developed that feeling upon meeting them the first time, it's similar to the concept of "love at first sight").

basing this off of his relationship with maggie. he legit fell in love with her the first time he saw her, that's enough evidence for this alone!!! he loved her on first meet alone, and those feelings only grew after getting to know her more.

just to preface this i am aspec (aro and acespec) so i know what i'm talking about. i'm gonna be using terms like platonic, aesthetic, romantic and sexual attraction to describe things. so like little primer on what each means.

platonic attraction is the kind of attraction you feel towards friends, family and in general people with whom you don't feel a sense of romantic and/or sexual attraction. think of what you would usually feel for your best friends, that is platonic. some people still choose to reject platonic love completely and we call them aplatonic (not gonna go into much detail bcs it's complicated and i'm not aplatonic so i don't want to speak over them)

romantic and sexual attraction should be pretty self explanatory. aesthetic attraction is the attraction you feel on a superficial level, ie you think a person is really pretty. while aesthetic attraction is a component to romantic and sexual attraction, it is not exclusive to them. liking someone just because they're pretty doesn't mean that you now wish to date them or to have coitus with them, it only ever means that they're pretty.

as always some of these hcs are purely because of vibes, while some of them i feel like they are informed by canon in any number of ways.

ok now time for the fun stuff (gonna spew both my gnsn and hsr hcs)

ok so like i want to start of with my girl argenti seeing as she's currently on banner and refusing to come home. i see her as aro. she experiences tons of aesthetic attraction ( i mean duh she is a follower of idrilla after all) and is romance favourable. i feel like she'd know fully well that her romantic attraction just isn't there, but she sometimes wishes that she could feel what others feel. she is more or less ok with her identity tho.

ratio to me is just demi, meaning he needs a very strong bond to even feel any kind of romantic/ sexual attraction. he's not someone i see having very strong aesthetic attraction. a lot of it stems from teh fact i see him as autistic and traits of autism do impact our perception of the self, especially on an emotional level. for some it's hard to tell what they're feeling and that does translate over to ur sexuality. i feel like ratio would be like that to a certain extent.

many would disagree but i also see aventurine as aspec. i hc him as greyro, someone who experiences romantic attraction very rarely, and aceflux, meaning your sexual attraction fluctuates on the spectrum. a lot of how i see him is informed by his backstory and the implications of sa. seeing as how that kind of trauma often skews one's understanding of sexuality and romance. i personally see him as someone who doesn't really care for romance. his sexuality fluctuates yes but it's often somewhere down in the doesn't exist/ is hard to categorize because his own trauma impacts it a lot. i also feel like he needs a ton of trust to even attempt anything and i also see him with a lower libido. i know very against what fandom often thinks of him.

now for someone who's just vibes. jing yuan is aroace to me. i just think it's incredibly funny that he's living his best life without any partner despite being xianzhou luofu's biggest obsession (i mean have u seen the dh jy bl). tho i do feel like he would be a lonely sort of aroace, often times being jealous of the others for having someone to hold and whatnot, but he has yq by his side (platonically ofc^^)

i'm gonna lump in furina, neuvi and alhaitham together as i think their neurodivergency is a big part of me seeing them as aspec. while i see furina as grey and neuvi as just aspec, haitham is ace to me. furina has an added layer of trauma to muddle the waters of their attraction, but i generally feel like they don't experience much in terms of any kind of attraction. they don't really care as they are more focused on healing from the trauma and anything else comes secondary. for neuvi i don't have a set sexuality and i just see him as aspec, i'm as confused as he is about his own emotions and place in the world. his emotions are hard to tell and it translates to other aspects of himself. as for alhaitham i just think he dgaf about his sexuality and is happy that he doesn't have to deal with annoyances like that, i do see him as someone who is very much so sex neutral, he wouldn't mind but he's not here raving for it either.

uhhh this might be all, idk tho. there's probably more characters who i forgot about lol. obvs the aspec is big and huge and there's as many labels as there is stars in the sky. haha anon hope u got thru this giant text post because holy it took a bit to put words down on paper.

Oooh as someone who is Aroace spec myself I love the idea of kenji being on the demi ends, like he never thinks about romance and he’s not really attracted to people even if he find them aesthetically pleasing. Maybe when he was younger he kept mixing up queer platonic feeling with romance because I see him as the type who LOVES his friends. But very rarely he’ll meet someone who he’s attracted too and the feeling is awful cause it’s so foreign and unfamiliar and the closest comparison he has for it is the kind of passion he has for baseball and even then it’s not the right way to describe the mix of anxiety and affection there it’s almost an unpleasant feeling and he is genuinely appalled people feel this on a regular basis. Yes this is projecting- being attracted to someone feels so fucking weird when your brain isn’t really wired for it and it was actually super uncomfortable experience the first time it happened

I think the mix up can also contribute to him pushing people away. By the end of the movie he comes to accept himself more and appreciate and is more comfortable with the platonic relationships around him.
