see i DO think there's a chance that he is still a minor on account of it seems like he did kind of grow up in some kind of like. police academy. so the fact that this is his "first mission" could also be some kind of early graduation, which gives you a bit of wiggle room in terms of actual age, but he has to be old enough to 1. legally work (or at least be close enough that the police don't get investigated for child labor) & 2. go to jail (since that's where he got recruited)

i'm sure they could make exceptions for the age, on account of him being an orphan means the school is probably his legal guardian & therefore can like. offer approval for him to work early, and there are kids who get tried as adults, but it just feels like 14 is too young for that

either way i love mafia azz looking at iruma and going. was i ever that young. did i ever believe that the world could be as beautiful as he thinks it is. is it too late for me to still feel that way. and that train of thought does get kind of hilarious if he's like. just 16

feel like azz is kind of implied to be slightly older in mafia au on account of like, being old enough to legally work & also his comment about age which i think makes his devotion to iruma way funnier. like he's probably 16-18 but can you imagine being like, an adult with a job & having your entire sense of self completely shaken by a high schooler who's view on life is just that he thinks its nice when people get along
