The comments and replies on this are astounding like why in the actual fuck are you all fighting like children on a topic this complex.
Like please for the love of god stop fuckin fighting over this girl math shit. Do you all realize that the point of cultural analysis and critique is to point out patterns in culture and why they exist and not use them to attack others and that the reason it will not convince anyone is bc they can use the same shit or make their own critiques back? Like we live in a culture obsessed with this notion that there is a Science to Existence when culture very clearly can never be boiled down to something that concrete.
Your views on this trend if "girlification" hold meaning and are important but they dont make you more correct or morally superior. You are not a better person for hating these trends but also if you are taking these critiques personally maybe you need to uhhh....get a fucking grip? And maybe look inward and understand why you are so attached to these ideas of femininity and, if you really see it as survival or reclaimation, why do you feel the need to scream and cry and act fucking insane online about it?????
Its even fuckin weirder that any of yall arguing about it are doing it through this lense that you are more Right for it. It's like you have genuinely zero understanding of experiences outside your own but instead of trying to use that to grow, you're getting into screaming matches on tumblr and twitter about it like a bunch of babies.
"girl dinner is when you don't eat teehee" "men think about the roman empire women think about their ex best friends and poetry" "✨sapphic love✨ is so pure and innocent and sweet unlike nasty gross Man Lust" "girl math is when you can buy starbucks and makeup because you didn't buy it yesterday so it's free" "I'm going to explain (complex topic) for the girlies! so basically it's like when you go shopping-" "I love women because they're so soft and smooth and feminine and we can talk about girly things and they're not sweaty or hairy or horny like gross men" "women should be unemployed girls don't need jobs men should do all that for us" "ugh girls that don't like pink or being feminine just need to stop being such pick mes and get over their internalized misogyny it's gross"
god save my hairy dyke ass from this hell before I start whacking people's shins with my Girl Baseball Bat. teehee!

10 KEY differences between wendy & kyle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i feel like everyone acts like wendy & kyle are pretty much the same characters, but the more i've looked into it no, they're actually VERY different. the only shit they have in common is that they're both morally preachy hypocrites who hate on cartman (and wanna fuck him teehee) but they go abt it in very different ways. ok here we go:
1. wendy is wayyyy smarter than kyle - ok let's get this one out of the way first bc i just talked abt it in my rant on why wendy is the smartest character. but yeah kyle may be booksmart and good at school but wendy is good at school AND she can manipulate and actually outsmart cartman, kyle can't.
2. wendy is more confident than kyle - obviously wendy isn't 100% confident and def has her moments where her insecurity shows like when she gets crazy jealous but overall i feel like she's A LOT more confident than kyle bc she doesn't let shit get under her skin as easily as him and she actually knows how to ignore cartman better. like yeah wendy did fight cartman back in "breast cancer show ever" but her response to that seemed pretty reasonable when u take into consideration all the times where cartman had harassed wendy in the past and she just ignored it and let it go lol. there are sooo many tiny moments in the series like that where cartman picks on wendy and she does NOTHING unlike kyle who reacts to EVERYTHING. like in "le petit tourette" cartman deadass went up to wendy and was like "DUMB BITCH!" and she didn't even get mad or anything wheras kyle decided to pick a fight with cartman over the tourettes thing when cartman DIDN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING TO KYLE. another example was that time when cartman was like "check out wendy she's as flat as a pancake" and wendy didn't say anything lol there are sooo many more examples of this shit but i’m not gonna get into it rn.
3. wendy is a leader, kyle is not - this goes hand in hand with the thing abt her being more confident. i feel like wendy's ability to lead the other girls and take a stand rily shows her confidence, while kyle is def more of a follower and usually just takes the backseat as the sidekick to whatever the fuck stan or cartman are up to (usually cartman) lol. kyle is EXTREMELY bossy and controlling tho so there def are moments where he takes charge of situations, but just bc he's rlly bossy and likes coming up with ideas that doesn't mean he's a good poised leader nor does he know how to execute his plans efficiently imo. the other characters will go along with kyle's shit bc they feel like they have no choice be he won't stop complaining to get his way, not bc they look up to him LOL.
4. kyle is more gullible than wendy and more easily persuaded - kyle is DEF way more gullible than wendy which is part of the reason why he’s not as smart as her. i feel like kyle is way more likely to believe some bullshit or be persuaded into changing his stance on something, wheras once wendy has her mind set on something there’s no changing it. she stays true to her beliefs EXCEPT when it comes to peer pressure but we’ll get to that point soon lol. kyle can also get manipulated easily wheras wendy sees through all the bs 100% of the time.
5. kyle is more naive and childish - this is a rlly subtle difference and goes hand in hand with the last point abt him being gullible but yeah i def feel like kyle is more juvenile and acts like a regular kid. he’s rlly high strung and has a lot of energy and gets excited over dumb shit like making a farm on facebook and talking to a damn poop which i can’t rlly see wendy doing lol. she def seems more mature than him in that sense.
6. kyle is WAYYY more temperamental than wendy - this one is prob the most obvious. kyle gets easily annoyed over the tiniest shit and has rlly bad anger problems, while wendy has a temper too i feel like she usually tries to resolve shit calmly first and has a more mature demeanor and is more rational & levelheaded most of the time, but when u RLLY piss her off she becomes scarier than kyle and does way worse shit LOL. kyle is also way more impulsive too so if he does react with anger he's gonna do the first dumbass thing that pops in his head like punching someone or calling them names, wendy is usually way more strategic when it comes to her vengeance.
7. wendy is popular, kyle is a loser - yeah this one is pretty obvious we all know wendy is the most popular girl and kyle hardly has any friends that he resorts to hanging out with CARTMAN. i can imagine the kids would rather be around wendy and like her more bc she’s not as pissy as him, even tho she certainly has her bitchy moments but she still aint as easily reactive as kyle and has RIZZ.
8. wendy is more easily influenced by peer pressure - so yeah being the more popular one definitely comes at a cost bc wendy can stoop LOW to maintain her popularity and make sure the other girls like her still. this is the one category where kyle actually wins bc he’s usually more likely to stand on the fact that no one likes him and he won’t sacrifice his morals to be liked, even tho he certainly has his moments where he does. kyle overall seems wayyy more introverted than wendy tho and seems comfortable being a loner while she isn’t. wendy is extroverted af and wants to have a bunch of friends and an army of skanks around her at all times.
9. wendy actually takes ACTION abt the issues she has rather than just complaining about it - this is something i respect more abt wendy bc even tho she’s preachy like kyle at least she actually does shit and takes a stand on the political issues she has, while kyle is all talk LOL. kyle will give 0 fucks about helping any cause and does absolutely nothing, but then when he sees cartman doing something terrible he’ll all of a sudden act like he was the biggest advocate for that thing all along even tho he never was. wendy was likable af in “breast cancer show ever” tho bc she was just minding her own business trying to do good by spreading awareness on breast cancer and cartman’s bitchass had to keep annoying her and harassing her abt it so yeah ofc she snapped back bc she was just defending herself lol.
10. they have completely different weak spots - and lastly, even tho they both can get angered easily they have COMPLETELY different triggers as to what sets them off. kyle’s achilles heel is his juddaism and if anyone comes for him over it he will throw and huge bitch fit. for wendy it’s any threat against her popularity/attention or relationship with stan which is why she is known for her jealousy, which is prob wendy’s most toxic behavior in the show lol. kyle doesn’t have a reputation for being the jelly monster like wendy does, although his behavior in s20-21 was pretty wendy level bad bc he was jelly and possessive AF with cartman lol. up until that point wendy took the throne as the annoying jealous, possessive, & petty one.
BONUS KEY DIFFERENCE: wendy cares abt stan more 🤷🏻‍♀️ just by 👌🏼 this much

Just saw a post where in response to being asked to mention the destruction and atrocities Israel is doing to Gaza Palestine rn, OP responded with "I've been avoiding it because scrolling and seeing dead kids and sadness is bad for my mental health as a depressed person and there's nothing I can do about it either way"
You dont even need to share live footage of graphic injury if it's understandably triggering but that is not something you even need to share in order to spread awareness to your large following about Palestine, nor what was being asked from you to begin with you just brought it up on ur own😭 Beyond the live footage there are text only information posts you can share. Israel's occupation of Palestine goes beyond the October 7th siege so the info you could share doesn't need to be about dead kids it could just be Palestinian literature or history for context. Even Jewish history actually. Even just a show of solidarity literally even the greatest thing u could do online would not be that hard or complicated😭
Especially when all the mainstream news outlets are spreading biased narratives and people getting derailed from the point because of the Hamas coverage and stuff, other figures that people listen to and believe in taking a firm stance with Palestine is helpful. I think justifying not even wanting to try in your own little way to begin with through this "there's nothing I can do" or "other ppl are better for this than me" is extremely disingenuous. (Besides the fact that Palestinians in Gaza that the best thing anyone can do is share about them on social media exactly for these reasons so this literally is what you can do even as just one person)
I'm not gonna make conclusions on what the moral character of OP is over one statement that may have just been poor wording. And forcing someone to share when they really don't want to is counterproductive. But idk how you can bring up the fact that there is live footage of bloody children having to bury their parents and siblings as the sole survivors of their families, and not realize how priveleged you are for your greatest exposure to that only being behind a screen, and your greatest concern from it only being your mental health💀 Especially if you're a white american

Viren's Death and Transformative Justice
Trigger warning: there will be mentions of csa and rape but nothing graphic
It's time to talk politics! When it comes to Viren's finale, I'm honestly disappointed (but not surprised) that the writers chose a cop-out in a form of "heroic death" rather than to show a person who's hurt others put effort into becoming better and atoning for his crimes. From a political perspective, this is related to my stance against carceral (and capital) punishment and in favor of prison abolition.
Viren would either rot in a cell or die, instead of getting a chance to heal, which is a regressive and reactionary way of thinking, completely in line with the right wing ideology but which has been so normalized in our culture that liberals and many leftists don't question it. The general norm is thus - if someone does a crime, they should go to prison, regardless of how the prison will break them and make them worse. And that's not counting all the people who want criminals to be killed.
To talk about my anti punitive justice stance, I would like to take a darker turn and talk about a very serious type of crime. There's this amazing video by a youtuber Kathrin where she talks about prison abolition and how the carceral system hurts people (including victims of crime!) more than it helps them. And she uses her own experience as s CSA survivor as a lens through which she looks at this sensitive topic.
youtube
The video is 37 minutes long and features a heavy topic so I understand if you don't want to watch it but I really really recommend you do, because it will challenge your preconceptions about justice and the carceral system.
However, if you really don't have the time/desire/spoons for it, here are the main points:
the carceral system should be abolished
it should be replaced by transformative justice which focuses on taking care of victims above punishing the perpetrators, as well as crime prevention by understanding the root causes of crime.
Okay, you might ask - so what does this have to do with Viren, who chose to die? Well, in addition to the philosophy that he had to die or didn't deserve mercy being directly linked to the current system, there's also this section towards the end of the video (24:50) where Kathrin discusses what transformative justice would look like for her. Emphasis on the last part, as different victims would want different things:
"For me, transformative justice would look like sitting sitting with my abuser in a circle of care with people all around us, flanking us, attending to our healing, becoming our surrogate family as they facilitate our conversation."
How powerful is that? And she's talking about someone who raped her as a child. Viren is not even close to the monster Kathrin is talking about.
So let's talk Soren and Viren. I've seen plenty of people say they hate Viren for what he did to Soren (which is absolutely valid!) and I assume they care about Soren's well being. So tell me, which sounds better for Soren - having his abusive father die on him, leaving him with a gaping wound and a ton of unanswered questions or getting to sit with him, surrounded by people he trusts and who can support him and having an extension of the conversation they almost had in the dungeon, where he gets to heal together with his father? He doesn't have to forgive Viren, but having that might provide him closure and help him contextualize certain things.
And don't get me wrong - there are parts in the show that I think are excellent in terms of mutual healing - Viren acknowledging what he'd done to Soren and taking full responsibility for it was very powerful. But it lost its momentum with Viren's death.
One of the central themes in TDP is ending the cycles of violence and yeah, the show does focus on it, I'm not saying it doesn't. But it keeps the entire political aspect of it firmly within the status quo, choosing what I would call a morally cowardly approach to this. And I'm sorry for using such strong language, I really am, but I think political centrism truly is a cowardly approach to politics. And politics in the show matter because the writers chose to make it matter.
Ultimately, whether you enjoyed the end of Viren's arc or not is up to you. It will mostly depend on how you read Viren's character throughout the show. I just genuinely find that ending emotionally unsatisfying and the perpetuation of the punitive justice mindset is one of the reasons, whether the writers intended it or not.

Hello, sorry i don't know how to use this app xd I want to ask about ur reply, " he became cap for bucky" It's been awhile since i seen the movie last time, can u please explain to me where and how ? 🥺 thanx!
Hi!!
Ok, so this is only my interpretation and it has been a while since I saw the movies myself so I hope this makes sense <3
– – –
Obviously “became cap for bucky” is a bit of a shortcut. Steve’s decision to join the army, his personality (his heroic qualities), his decision to undergo the supersoldier experiment - all the things one could argue made Steve into Captain America - had nothing to do with Bucky.
I meant that thanks to Bucky Steve had the push to become Cap rather than play the role of Cap.
Since becoming a supersoldier Steve performs on various events helping the government raise money for the army and boosting morale (or trying to). At this point he is physically a super soldier, and he is referred to as Captain America. But it's just that - a title. A role he is playing. He feels like a circus monkey, performing for somebody’s entertainment, no more useful than a prop to take photos with. He is called Captain America, he is playing Captain America, but he is not Captain America.
Learning from Peggy what happened to the 107th - and that Bucky is presumed dead - pushes him on a solo suicide rescue mission. And I think that this is the point at which he becomes Captain America, the hero. He makes the decision, he takes the risk and he saves not only Bucky but the whole division, and thus proves himself in the eyes of the colonel.
And he went there because of Bucky. Because the colonel thought he was dead, and Steve believed he was wrong - that Bucky was alive (he told the rescued prisoners that he was looking for Sergeant Barnes).
Now, obviously Steve has always been heroic ie he possessed the heroic qualities. He is brave, loyal, has a strong moral compass etc. His mom raised him right. So I'm not saying he wasn’t heroic/a hero before the rescue mission. I’m saying he wasn’t Captain-America-the-Hero (as opposed to Captain-America-the-Girls-Choir-Prop) until the rescue mission.
Then in Civil War Steve leaves behind the shield and thus rejects the title/role of Captain America (the Hero). In Infinity War we see him as Nomad - he is still a hero and he does what is right  because he will always be a hero.
But he became Captain America and he stopped being Captain America for Bucky. Thanks to Bucky. Because of Bucky.
also side note: the movie is titled Captain America: The First Avenger and there is exactly one point at which Steves wants to avenge someone - Bucky, precisely his death. Narratively speaking Steve (the character) didn’t need to undergo an internal change (like for example Tony had to in IM1) to become a hero - he already is heroic. But there is a point at which Steve (the character) does change internally: he changes his stance from “I don't want to kill anyone; I don't like bullies, I don't care where they're from” to “I'm not gonna stop until all of Hydra is dead or captured.” And that is also because of Bucky.
God I love them.

i (as a switch wx enjoyer) have noticed the weird hypocritical righteous takes that bottomji fans have, where they degrade ppl for making wwx feminine, much shorter than lwj and lwj a brick shithouse, saying lwj was canonically lean, whilst also changing lwj to fit their narrative - a petty, submissive beauty that yllzs twice the size of (in a period where yllz was canonically starving to death, but i digress). and something else ive noticed with topji/bottomxian haters that i dont get - canonical wx is a subversion of typical t/b dynamics, not a stereotype of it. u arent doing anything amazing by making the loud, pulling pigtails bad boy the top, and the beloved, beautiful princess the bottom.
again, this is not a hate post of bottomji - i want that man fucked too! but its just this weird moral stance ive seen bottomji enjoyers take. although this is definitely a conversation that should be had, i dont care if u draw wei wuxian as a muscular dilf and lwj a pretty waif, or vice versa, its just weird as hell when u hate on other ppl for doing the same thing ure doing, just reversed. at the end of the day, these are fictional characters that u can do anything with

tbh i am pretty uncomfortable around tiny kids but im always nice to them
some posts on here will be like “if you’re uncomfortable with kids you should kys fucking bigot” and its like well. I think you have been hate reading the child free forums again. someone being uncomfortable around small kids (who can behave unpredictably or trigger ocd/SPD or any number of other things) isn’t equivalent to being uncomfortable around minorities. a real take i saw. very odd. it’s like some ppl can’t conceive of stances other than “the children are the future, everyone should want to foster their bright inquisitive little minds” and “i think children should be banned from public spaces”
when in truth sometimes ur just uncomfortable around kids bc u were raised fundamentalist and got told a lot of weird austere grooming bullshit. or you don’t like being near the unmasked kid coughing next to you on the train. or any number of other things.
none of this is a defense of virulent childfree weirdos ofc, many of whom employ racist and sexist rhetoric on top of just being shitty about kids. just that some posts on here feel like they were written by my baptist father. “someday you’ll understand why children are important, and if you don’t, it speaks to your lack of moral center, your lack of humanity. if you can’t intrinsically understand why children are good to be around, then maybe you just aren’t a good person.”
yeah ok, heard that record before, it was the soundtrack to my childhood. you can defend youth rights without sounding like a preacher. I encourage it in fact

Hello!
I've got an interview coming up for a pretty top Uni and I put angels before man as a possible book that I would be open to discuss.
I was just wondering about your thoughts on the themes of your book, especially the implementing of homoeroticness and the sympathetic stance for a widely condemned character.
Hello!!! Good luck with the interview!!! I hope it goes well and u get into whatever school is the one of your dreams :') I'm honored u named ABM. It's hard to talk about themes without rambling forever so I'll try to ramble just about what you specifically asked about:
On implementing homoeroticism — I think it was important, for me, to inject queerness into the story itself.
It's not a "queer retelling" just because a boy-ish character likes another boy-ish character (Lucifer and Michael don't even identify as men! They're angels!). ABM had to be a queer retelling in the way it told its story (not keeping to a conventional act structure), queer in its world (the angels are all So Flamboyant and Gay), and queer in the coming of age portion (Lucifer grows up feeling Different, feeling embarrassed, having the moment of Sexual Awakening from Seeing Other Boys in the Locker Room and the moment of Falling In Love with the Handsome Macho at the Sports Game, and Lucifer loves singing and dancing and is emotional and feminine; he's queer in a way beyond his attraction to Michael).
Making the homoeroticism so normative meant gushing about how handsome the angels are, about sexualizing them. It also meant using flowery language to sexualize them, to be tender about it. The angels aren't men but they're almost men, and men are usually denied flowery, tender sexualization. I wanted to approach it that way.
And now about making a condemned character sympathetic — I think you can either turn a condemned character into a complete victim (usually by taking their agency away) or make them... complicated. I wanted my take on Lucifer to be the second option for one big reason: the Bible is so strict in being Good vs Evil with no gray, so I wanted to make it gray. If I made Satan just the good guy and God just the bad guy, then I would be falling into that same problematic moral dichotomy of the Bible.
So Lucifer is complicated. He's the victim, but he hurts innocent angels. Phanuel didn't deserve that. Dina didn't deserve that. Baal didn't deserve to be manipulated either. Lucifer was also never really perfect; he was always a bit self-absorbed, and he's always been too quick to get emotional.
But I think positioning the devil as an "imperfect victim" is important too. Victims who lash out in ways seen as "unacceptable" are so often demonized, especially SA victims (which Lucifer is). Lucifer's explosion at the end of ABM was about catharsis, not about revenge, and it's not meant to be pretty (God already made his suffering pretty, made Lucifer cry flowers) or forgivable.
You're not supposed to forgive Lucifer; he doesn't want your forgiveness!
Forgiveness. I think a lot of readers think providing a sympathetic stance for a widely condemned character is about asking the audience to forgive them. Maybe for some authors, that's true, but John Milton, for example, never intended for you to forgive Satan. Recently, the Hunger Games prequel came out, which served as President Snow's "villain origin story" — anyone who read the book or watched the movie knows that Snow isn't forgivable in that. Milton and Suzanne Collins were just... trying to explain them, trying to provide a little nuance.
I think the question of forgiveness is really important when it comes to the devil. The Bible is centered around forgiveness, a lot of Christians ask why God doesn't forgive Satan or why Satan won't accept God's forgiveness.
In ABM, Lucifer begs for forgiveness from God over and over throughout the book. The chapter he meets him, Lucifer crumbles to the ground and says, “Father, Father, be merciful, please have pity on me, please forgive me.” He doesn't even know what he did, but he's sorry, and he's sorry and sorry and sorry until the end. There's this line from the revision that puts it nicely, I think:
'Heaven will despise me. No one can ever love me again.’ “I’ve done the unforgivable.” Lucifer had become the unforgivable. But he was breathing easier, though he didn’t realize it yet; he had unshackled himself from the pity of angels. From the promise of salvation, he had been liberated.
It's always been important to me for Lucifer to become unforgivable in the end, not just for God but for majority of readers. He frees himself from pity (of the angels and of the readers) and from being a "good" victim, from being good. The first to free himself from the moral constraints of wanting to be good — that's really what makes him the devil.
I hope this ramble is helpful :') good luck!!!

hi! idk if u take requests or not, but i love ur writing and was wondering if you'd do a set of prompts for a superhero duo? like begrudging partners
thank youuu 💖
1) Hero / Anti-Hero - Meeting Times
"You're late."
"Nuh-uh. I'm not late, you're early."
The Hero grits their teeth. "We said 9PM."
"You said 9PM. I actually have a life, so you're lucky I showed at all." Mask peeled up to their nose, lower half of their face exposed, the Anti-Hero had a colourful bendy straw dangling from their lips as they slurp up the contents of a milkshake.
"This," bites out the Hero, "was your idea."
The Anti-Hero gives a particularly obnoxious yawn, paired with a matching wide-armed stretch. "So? I don't recall appointing you as my mother. Hop off my dick."
Biting their tongue, the Hero has to fight to keep themself from dignifying the Anti-Hero with a response.
"I'm gonna take your silence as a hearty sign that we agree. I'm right on time." The Anti-Hero holds out their milkshake. "Want a sip?"
If looks could kill, the Hero would've broken their moral code five times over by now.
2) Hero / Anti-Hero - Kill Rule
Shit hit the fan the exact second the Anti-Hero showed up. The Hero had things under control, to whatever extent they could with their no-kill rule, but the Anti-Hero had no such dilemma.
Goon bodies dropped, both dead and for cover, as the Anti-Hero sprayed the contents of two handguns across the room. Blood, chaos, and screaming clouds the space, painting death every where the Hero looks.
"No killing!"
"No what?!" the Anti-Hero shouted over their shoulder. "I can't hear you over all this killing!"
Familiar frustration rose in the Hero's chest as the Hero yelled back over the gunfire. "I said, no killing!"
"What?! Oh!" The gunfire on the Anti-Hero's end peters to a stop. Just the metallic ricochet of bullet shells rolling on cold concrete floors. Unfortunately, one bloodied, beaten goon made the mistake of trying to push to his feet.
The Anti-Hero pops a bullet in his skull without so much as a glance over their shoulder.
"What the hell was that?!" Hero snaps, feeling damn close to stamping their foot like a child out of pure frustration. This alliance was already controversy, considering their oppositional stances on the value of human life, and now it was killing people.
"Chill out, dude, I thought you said no quilting."
Quiltingareyoufuckingserious- "That is nothing like what I just said!"
"Obviously I couldn't hear you, man, don't bite my head off."
"Just- just-" The Hero splutters, overwhelmed with the life already lost, cleaning up this particular portion of the criminal underbelly, and - apparently - babysitting the Anti=Hero on top of it all. "No more killing, alright?!"
Despite this, the Anti-Hero does empty a new handgun magazine into one last goon's head before this night's collaboration ended.
3) Hero / Anti-Heroine - Jewel Heist
"Oh, I'm so taking this."
The Hero whips around, sensing in his gut that his on-off crime-fighting partner was about to swap sides, just in time to see the Anti-Heroine dip her hand into the shattered glass case of the jewel display.
He's at her side in a split-second, catching her wrist before she can get ahold of the precious jewels they'd just prevented from getting stolen. "Cut it out, would you?"
"What? I did, like, really well today. Saved lives and whatnot, all entirely without benefit to myself. It's my reward."
"No."
"But it's so tiny, they won't even notice it's gone." Again, she reaches for a sapphire jewel that the Hero would never, ever refer to as tiny.
"It is its own exhibit, Anti-Heroine," hisses the Hero, "so I think they will know somebody took it."
"They wouldn't know it was me. Bet they'd write it off as collateral damage."
"I promise they would know it was you. Okay, just- Look, the work itself is the reward."
The Anti-Heroine tilts her head, questioning.
"Uh, you know. Gratitude of the people? Knowing you did the right thing? Pretty... rewarding, emotionally."
"Right..." The Anti-Heroines rolls her eyes, shaking her head as if the Hero was the one not understanding here. "Well, I can't buy new shoes with gratitude and high fives. C'mon, what about just the red one?"
"I said no."
"Fine, I'll settle with the incy-wincy emerald. Matches my eyes, don't you think?"
"Anti-Heroine, I swear to all that's holy-"
She scoffs, but withdraws her hand in favour of crossing her arms over her chest. "You're no fun."
4) Hero Sidekick / Villain Minion- Rescuing Mentors
"-Or, hear me out, we do my plan and it might actually be good."
"My plan is good," the Sidekick bites out. "It minimises civilian casualties and property damage, whilst ensuring we can get to our mentors in the shortest preferable time."
"Your plan is lame. Nothing even blows up. What I am supposed to do with all these bombs I brought?"
The Sidekick eyes the dufflebag trapped snugly under the Minion's foot. "You didn't, right?"
"Like I'd tell you, nerd," says the Minion snarkily. "Your goody-two-shoes ass would confiscate my shit so fast."
"God, you're immature."
"Immature?" The Minion gives a ridiculing laugh, clearly enjoying the act of winding the Sidekick up. "I'm immature? Didn't you literally just graduate from high school?"
The Sidekick splutters, taken aback. "I've been in college for like, two years!"
"Huh. My bad, I didn't know you were just short. Maybe stick to the high school thing. Or invest in heels." Kicking back in their chair, the Minion kicks their feet up, boots now irritatingly close to the Sidekick's face. "Anywho, your plan is all well and good if we have to be totally boring. But how, oh smartypants supreme, do you suggest we get past their primary and secondary reinforced drop-doors without brute force?"
"... I hadn't thought about that."
"So you were wrong." They give a theatric yawn before nocking a forefinger back at their now blank expression. "This is me shocked, stunned, and flabbergasted."
"I'll kill you."
"Ooh, Moral-lad McBuzzkill wants to murder me, I'm sooo threatened." The Minion presses their hands to their face, a picture of mock, exaggerated fear pulling onto their facial expression. "I'm just quivering in my floral Chanel combat boots."
The Sidekick's hands ball into fist, holding their rising anger and frustration back by a weakening threat. Maybe they can list supernatural patience to their resume as a new superpower.
5) Hero / Antihero - Stakeout
"Can you get off the phone?"
The Hero glowers, pulls their phone from their ear and ghosts their hand over the mouthpiece, and hisses, "I'm on the phone."
"Yes, I have eyes."
"So. Shut up."
The Anti-Hero forces out a heavy, exaggerated sigh. They lean back against the parapet wall of the rooftop the pair were stationed on, chin balanced on the palm of their hand as they stare intently at the Hero. Fully intending to disrupt them without saying a word, throw them off their precious conversation.
It takes less than a minute for the Hero glare and stop talking to hold the phone away again. "Do you need something?"
"Oh, only if you can slot it into your super busy schedule, Mister Important," says the Anti-Hero, tone slick with mock sincerity.
"What is it."
"Okay, so do you remember that high security vault we were supposed to be watching?" The Anti-Hero says, taking their sweet time to get to the point out of petty vengeance. "Y'know, the one containing that death weapon some major-league baddies wanna steal?"
The Hero rolls their eyes. "Ugh, yes?"
"It's totally getting robbed right now."
"Oh, shit."

Note
good evening i'm not sure if y'all are still active but if you are could i please request platonic botw hcs (i don't recall you specifying whether you do platonic or not- i'm sorry if you don't, that's my bad) for a reader who's the youngest champion and has an intense competition against revali? all the champions know about it and they try and stop him from being too hard on the reader but he never listens
thank u <3
Oh my goodness, platonic hcs requests are very much appreciated! They're super fun to write, and this request was especially fun to jot down. Sorry for the wait again but thank you for the request!
Tumblr media
After training your arse off to be as skilled as you can, you were chosen by the one and only Princess Zelda to become a Champion! And the youngest one at that, congrats!
You owe it to everyone and everything: your mentors, family, friends, and a whole lot of grueling training and luck to top it off.
Everyone's celebrating and the other chosen Champions are congratulating you on your feat! They're all amazingly proud of your accomplishments and warmly welcome you to the elite team chosen to fend off Calamity Ganon
One problem: there's another young Champion vying for that sweet spot of ultimate recognition, and he's not backing down that easy
Revali, being the overtly competitive and sardonic individual that he is, isn't going to appreciate you stealing another spotlight from him
I mean, first Link shows up seemingly out of nowhere and was assigned to take Ganon down...now this other younger teen Champion is the fresh talk of the town and barely anyone bothers to acknowledge Revali's impressive feats
You can't be that good, right? At least, that's what Revali believes when he first catches wind of your acceptance
Someone with not nearly as much life experience as everyone else couldn't possibly be a Champion, he thinks, even with excruciating training and dedication, reaching the level of a Champion takes a specific skill (let's not forget their abilities here)
Though (sadly for him), you do in fact have a seemingly supernatural ability. Like him, you've worked hard to be able to harness this skill
It irks the ever-loving hell out of him and you quickly catch onto his disdain of your presence
You can't be in the same room together let alone fight alongside each other without intense amounts of competitive, resentful energy radiating from him and yourself
It started out petty things: you'll stick your tongue out at him, he'll purposely stand right in front of you while walking, you'll speak before he gets a chance, he'll compare his skills to yours…it's never ending
Of course, this can't be kept secret for long; your colleagues are for sure going to notice. And since Revali is the oldest out of you two, the other Champions try giving him a pep talk to "lay off on the kid" since your rivalry could turn for the worse and ruin a potential mission
But in his mind, a Champion is a Champion, right? And being the bigger person in a moral stance isn't exactly his strong suit
"If this child is to be worthy enough to stand among Hyrule's leading force in a conflict of this magnitude, a challenge of authority should hardly be an issue."
No one could persuade him to quit it and that simply fuelled your dislike, no, hatred of him more. Mipha tried reason, Daruk attempted group bonding exercises and Urbosa thought brute verbal force would work… But it’s Revali we’re talking about. He changes on his own accord
In short, nothing's getting resolved anytime soon :/ It eventually escalated to both of you purposefully throwing yourselves in perilous situations just to prove one was better over the other. It was quickly becoming a conundrum when you basically challenged each other to a fight to the death
“Fight to the death” may be pushing it, but putting yourselves at risk of injury for just some rivalry? It became concerning rather than amusing for your friends-in-arms to stand another day of bickering and death stares seeing how it could turn to outright antagonism
Even Daruk is starting to get worried, and he's the more light-hearted one of the group!
To remedy this, Zelda purposely pairs the two of you together for a small mission in hopes you put aside your differences to complete a goal. The other Champions disagreed at first (fearing Revali and you would tear each other apart limb from limb), but trusted her instincts
You both vehemently protested this mission, but went along anyway. The journey there was quiet for the most part with the two of you silently stewing over the decision to go. However, you picked up on the fact that she's trying to make you get along and both thought isn't that ridiculous??
As you're walking towards the location of your mission, you converse about the others attempting to stop your rivalry in a somewhat casual manner
"Pfft, it's funny how hard they're trying. Like, are they really that desperate?"
"They must be. To think that we alone seem to be enough trouble for even the Princess to intervene… Perhaps you’re right, it’s nearly comical." This is absolutely an understatement on his end by the way; nearly killing each other should constitute more than ‘enough trouble’.
“Right? I didn’t think we’d strike that much of a nerve!”
After a bit of back and forth banter, you both return to the others…still bickering. Although, it’s not the usual mean-spirited quarrel everyone’s used to! The bad blood began thinning out bit by bit, with the healthy rival challenge every now and then
Now each passing day you’re on missions and such, it morphs into a type of older brother situation on Revali’s end: still an asshole to you, but a genuine guy to fight alongside
There’s still the odd, legitimate squabble here and there, but mainly just about counting monster kills (Legolas and Gimli style)

This past month i lost two of my closest friends which i have considered to be so close to my heart and for the first time in my life, i have truly understood the heartbreak that comes from ending a relationship with another human being whether it's platonic or romantic. As taylor swift has emphasized before, friendship breakups can be just as intense as romantic ones and it was until this month that i truly understood what she meant.
My friends or shall i say ex friends, challenged me amid a silly misunderstanding to bring out something that i bring into our friendship since they have to endure the looks of judgements and the outcast treatment for their association with me. An atheist, someone who doesn't believe in the abrahamic god (how dare she), someone who doesn't have a religion to guide them in this life, someone who lacks a moral compass, as they claim. In 2024 i made a pact with myself to STOP over explaining my stance. This includes but not limited to, my morals, my values, my beliefs or lack thereof, my identity, my whims, dreams...etc especially to someone who will never ever open their mind to accept a perspective or pov other the one their communities feed them regularly. Trying to humanize myself in a society that will forever paint atheists and non believers in a bad light since its beginning is a mistake and a waste of time, energy and my mental sanity.
For me, i thought friendship was about accepting the beautiful and ugly parts of your friends and seeing their imperfections as little quirks that just makes them who they are. I was wrong. I think this was a lesson for me to continue being a loner and never establish any deep relationship with muslims knowing they will drop you the moment they know who you truly are.
This is one of the many many beautiful things islam took away from me. The ability to make friends and connect with people. Because no matter what i do, i'm seen as a bad person who you shouldn't associate yourself with if you're a believer. I could lead you to the path of sin and disobedience. A path where you hypothetically question the absurdities that your community has fed u. A path where reason is put before faith.
Some people might say that i should stop victimizing myself and being a victim in every scenario since life is unfair for everyone and i should just stop bitching and moaning non stop. But aren't I a victim in a society where i know there are a hundred thousand people who would want me dead? Aren't I a victim in a society where the law prosecutes blasphemers for using our ''god'' given right to speak freely about the things that hurt us? Aren't I a victim for being named an abomination, a disgrace, a heathen? Aren't i a victim for facing hate crime? Aren't I a victim as a liberal ex muslim woman in a conservative islamic state?
Honestly, i rest my case. I no longer resist the loneliness the atheist path has brought me, not that it's my fault. But befriending muslims is a waste of time regardless of how open or liberal they say they are. Conservative societies are about maintaining status no matter how miserable everyone within these societies is. They shall all paint themselves as obedient straight godly people and can never stray away from that image. Any minor inconveniences that they commit can break that illusion even the ones that don't involve them at all like associating themselves with the supposed heathens. That association in itself takes away that fake status quo and ''god'' knows they can't live with that.
