"This is useless, Villain, give it up," Superhero sneered as they stopped their attack. "If you just stop, I'll make it quick. I won't even play with you. I can just put you out of your misery."

"And let you torture Hero? Not a chance."

"Then I'm going to enjoy ripping you apart limb from limb before I carve Hero up." Superhero charged.

"NO!" Hero screamed.

Villain's eyes flashed and they released a powerful energy wave. The wave passed over Superhero. Superhero screamed as the power overwhelmed them. They collapsed forward and remained unmoving as a pool of blood grew around them.

"Oh thank God that worked," Villain said breathlessly.

"I thought you could only fly," Hero said as they stared at Superhero's unconscious body.

Villain stumbled over to Hero. "Not exactly. I'm," they offered a hand to Hero, "I'm still working out the kinks of this one. I only can muster one good attack right now."

Hero cried out as Villain pulled them to standing. "I....I can't stand. My leg--"

"Then I'll just carry you," Villain said with a crooked smile as they lifted Hero into a bridal carry. "Let's get you home, sweetheart."

"Home sounds really good," Hero said weakly as they leaned against Villain's chest.

Villain kicked off into the air and flew swiftly to Lair. "Let's get you to the med bay. Right Hand and the others can take a look at your leg."

"And you, too, love." Hero needed to be sure Villain was ok.

"I'm fine. Your wound is deep. It's needing to be tended to first. I can wait."

Hero frowned, but didn't protest. They really did need help. They were feeling hazy from the blood loss. But they didn't want to admit that to Villain. They didn't want Villain to strain any further.

Hero tried not to cry out as Villain touched down in Lair, their leg being jostled. "Hold on, sweetheart. Nearly there. RIGHT HAND! MED BAY! NOW!"

Villain quickly ran to the med bay. They shouted orders as they ran. Hero focused on keeping their eyes open. They couldn't pass out now, not when they were safe. Not when Villain had worked so hard to save them.

The medical team of Lair quickly took over Hero's care. "They'll be fine, boss," one of them said to Villain. "It's really not too serious."

Villain nodded weakly. "Good," they said softly. Relief filled their face. They gave Hero a crooked smile. "That's really good," they muttered as their legs buckled beneath them.

"Villain!" Hero shouted as they tried to get off the bed. One of the minions tried to pin them down, but they weren't having it. "Villain, love, say something!" Hero said as they dropped to their knees beside Villain.

Villain's eyes were closed, a soft smile on their face. They were a complete dead weight in Hero's arms as Hero lifted them. "Villain, please. Please wake up! I love you, please! I love you! Villain, you can't do this to me!"

Hero couldn't hear the sounds of the medical team hurrying around them above the roar of blood in their ears. Couldn't hear the sounds of the team working to try and rouse Villain over the hammering of their heart. Couldn't hear the sounds of anything over the silence that emanated from Villain. And no matter how much Hero shook Villain, begging them to be ok, Villain did not wake.

Drew another headcanon that I share with a friend of mine.

Two Time makes softcore (not really) death threats via telling people to "respawn" when they're out of it. Which is often. They're a very mentally stable individual, as you can see.

It's honestly frustrating that I've seen non-Russian queer people almost bragging about how they would be illegal in Russia, labeled an extremist or terrorist. Russian queers are in danger, their government has made it clear where it stands, and it's made this effort for the better part of a decade (even longer, perhaps). This will kill people, don't mistake this for a quirky little proclamation from a government, akin to somebody saying the sky is pink. Russian queer people were already expressing their fear, and the least we can do now is express our love for them, and advocate with them.

Russian queer people, I love you. I love you all so much. I am so sorry, I cannot begin to express the grief that I feel, and I hope that you are safe. Words cannot encapsulate how I feel as a non-Russian, and I cannot hope to comprehend how it feels to actually be in this situation.

Do You Trust Me?

Warnings: threat of death, violence, captivity, restraints, escape

Hero tried to pry the power suppression cuffs off their wrists. They had fallen for Supervillain's trap so easily. They cursed as the cuffs remained tight on their wrists.

A scraping sound outside their cell had Hero whirling round, fearful that Supervillain had come to make good on their promise to beat them to death. They raised their fists as they growled, "Come to finish me off?"

Villain's face appeared in the doorway. "No," they whispered back, "I've come to get you out of here."

Hero frowned. Surely this had to be a trapped. "Why, so you can just toy with me until your master is ready to kill me?"

Villain opened the door. "No, do you think so poorly of me?"

"Yes."

Villain held out their hand. "I'm here to rescue you, Hero. I am with Supervillain because..." their voice trailed off. "That's not relevant. Point is, I'm here to set you free. You weren't meant to be caught."

Hero stared at Villain's hand. This had to be a trap. "Do you trust me?" Villain said as they inched closer.

"No," Hero said uncertainly.

Villain sighed. "Well, I'm sorry about this then." They grabbed Hero's hand and teleported the two of them out of the cell.
