That's because they're called love handles if the top part is bigger!!! That being said they literally have love in the name. In the NAME. If that doesn't tell u ur pog idk what will
Ur so shapes /pos
Hip dips. Ough. Grabbing them and kissing them. You understand
#i made a textpost#but yeah those are love handles!!#it's might be because the bone is bigger there or because the spot around your pelvis is accruing extra far#*fat#but either way the result is that right above your thighs it gets bigger#and they are literally called LOVE HANDLES#so everything i said earlier also applies#they are MADE to be LOVED. LOVE YOURSELF#anyway. kind of frustrating when something has two/more different names depending on how it looks#because it always causes things like this where you go “wait but what if i fit the broad idea but not this specific execution”#abd you don't find out until a million years later that it's technically another totally DIFFERENT THING.

there is a judge in Seattle who does the weekly name change hearings, and who says it's her favorite part of the week. she says she doesn't read out previous names, or ask about the reasons why people want to change them. she says it's a beautiful moment, and a celebration; a claiming of a new identity, or a reclamation of an old identity. she encourages the room to clap for folks. then she welcomes everyone up, one by one, by last name and with warmth; she shows them the court order where nobody else can see, asks them to double check the spelling, and then they're done! do they want a picture? do they want their friends and loved ones who came with them to be in it too? do they want the court order in the photo? she helps everyone pose, shakes hands and stands with them for as long as they need to take it, recruits the clerk for help taking photos of the folks who came alone. then she tells them where to go next, congratulates them, and claps along with the rest of the room.
probably three quarters of the people there were trans, and she centered their experience quietly, with love and joy.
I think I'll be thinking about her a lot this January, and for a long time after. it's good to know she's there.

my first night in germany i was invited to a small town's annual festival celebrating the consecration of their church. there i quickly learned that every single german knows the words to "Hit the Road, Jack." even if they don't speak english they know the sounds. ever heard a biergarten full of people chanting words they don't quite know? fucking uncanny is what it is
