i don't think that's the type of thing you should casually say to a random person on internet fam. joking or not. also please do not harass this person. i've censored the username for a reason.
and "doesn't affect reality"... yes, but... why are you thinking about skinning a real person alive? they're a real person. they're NOT fictional. you're kind of contradicting yourself here :|

Friendly reminder there's a difference between people online being selfrighteous assholes and persecution
Your religion being mocked is nothing like the countless threats of bombings to synagogues.
You feeling unaccepted by tumblr's other religious groups are not equivalent to the constant hate crimes of others.
You may find cruel antitheist remarks, but you aren't being beaten because you wore a cross necklace outside.
The oppression the Bible talks about is when nearly all apostles were hunted down and killed, not you feeling unwelcome.

there needs to be more support for trans folks who can't and/or won't socially OR medically transition honestly. I see lots of support for trans folks who can't/won't medically transition but I feel like there's still this standard of transness that expects you to be able to socially transition as well. or at least an idea in the trans community that you can't be happy with your gender unless you're able to (completely) socially transition.
it sucks as a male member of a bodily female system that's divisive about gender and forced to present androgynous because of it. due to the nature of being dissociative I don't really think about my body much , or ever really acknowledge myself as anything other than male in any way really, which is why I don't call myself trans, but at the end of the day my body is still female in, pretty much every way (besides the fact we use all pronouns irl). and I will never be able to change that, even if I'm host forever. but I'm still ftm, I'm still transsexual, I'm still a man, even if I'll never be able to say it or look it to 99% of the people in my life

Two more for now, and I cannot believe that this HAS TO be explained:
A × B with C sulking in the corner is NOT A × C, for cryin' out loud. If you tag it as A × C I will conclude that you are deliberately crosstagging, and by the way, that makes you look like an immature brat.
Crosstagging is still crosstagging even if the ship you're stanning are lesbians. Their intersectionality brownie points do not give you the right to bring them into unrelated tags, much less those of a rival ship.
Because it seems that some very basic truth statements bear repeating...
*ahem*
Shipping and tagging PSA
Let A, B, and C be characters from a specific fictional work.
As such, it stands to reason that the following are true:
A × B, B × C, and C × A shipping material should be tagged as #A×B, #B×C, and #C×A respectively. Not crosstagging is the easiest thing in the world, and requires approximately zero effort!
The word "anti" as a prefix to tags exists for a reason. Use it!
Even if you are a multishipper, A × B is not B × C or C × A! Don't crosstag it as #B×C or #C×A, it's not all the same just because you multiship!
A × B × C as a love triangle with B at the centre is NOT A × C! Don't crosstag it as #A×C!
B cheating on A with C is not A × B! Don't crosstag it as #A×B!
A × B × C as a harem between all of them is more of a grey area, but I think it is better tagged as #A×B×C rather than anything else.
W.r.t. fanfiction in particular: a work which is deliberately written to start A × B and finish B × C is not an A × B work!
I can't believe that even this needs to be pointed out, but apparently it does: A × B with the blessings of C is NOT A × C! Do not crosstag it as A × C, for Pete's sake!
I'm sure I will have MANY more additions to this in the future, but anyway...you're welcome.

tw for syscourse and rq mentions //
i don’t give a shit anymore, this is important so im crosstagging this.
please, whoever you are, please read at least the tl;dr whether youre pro endo, anti endo, anti radqueer, pro radqueer, whatever. ignore the dni i guess? if you dont wanna see this just block me, i won't care.
-
god i FUCKING HATE that my existence is seen as pro rq just cause im pro endo.
got called a radqueer today. i got roped in with pedophiles and necrophiles and zoophiles.
look, listen, i'm all for anti-contact pro-recovery supporters and i do think that we shouldn't shun these people away.
but rq is not for that. they actively support pro-contact and anti recovery rhetoric as well as say its okay to be rcta and "transage" and shit.
THIS should be the thing anti rq focus on. instead of the fact that because i support something that DOES HAVE FUCKING RESEARCH ON IT DESPITE WHAT YOU ALL SAY YOU FUCKERS.
i can fight and kick and scream and yell all i want but at the end of the day, my opinion automatically doesnt matter.
it doesnt even matter if a system with a fucking diagnosis that is "normal" (aka no fictives, factives, less than like 15 alters, and has a miserable life because of course thats what its like for all *real* systems or whatever) was trying to fight against rq, if they were even kind of proendo they’d be shot down immediately.
let me reiterate this- NOT ALL ENDOS ARE RQ. NOT ALL PRO ENDOS ARE RQ.
please fucking stop roping us in with these people. please.
to rq - i dont want to be included in your fucking community. We’re fine on our own, okay? we don't need your “safe space,” you’re actively making it worse. kindly FUCK OFF AND STOP RUINING THIS FOR US. PLEASE. EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY LIFE IS SPENT PROVING MYSELF OVER THE FUCKING INTERNET AND IT’S HARDER BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU.
to endo rq- we don’t want you representing us. you are NOT the face of endos and supporters. Kindly also fuck off to your own space with the rq instead of speaking for us.
every day i have to say the same shit because of YOU PEOPLE. YOU FUCKING PEOPLE.
i can’t have fucking anything and i can’t win. my existence is constantly “disproven” or “debunked” or just used as rage fuel.
and it feels like it’ll never end. tell me, when does this shit end? when does all of this work we as a community have done pay off?
damn. maybe i should stop doomscrolling, huh?
tl;dr i’m an endo/endo supporter and i would like to say that it is exhausting to constantly be roped in with radqueers just cause they support us or whatever. they don't speak for us, they don’t represent us, hate us all you want but don't label us radqueer. fucking PLEASE. and also, maybe we should focus on trying to stop the zoophiles, pedophiles and necrophiles and / or fighting for system awareness in general before we focus on fighting on whether or not endos are real when most people don’t even accept “real” systems.

"we want community!"
"fuck you for saying we shouldn't cross tag, which actively damages community!"
it's annoying at best and actively triggering for many people at worst. perhaps there are people who would love to interact with you about system things, who now have you blocked because you kept spamming about how much you hate endos in the DID tag, or how much you hate anti endos in the plural tags. yall don't have to tag your vents with what disorders you have.
it's not a strict rule, of course. it's just courtesy to the rest of your community. and if you have the dire need to crosstag, at least tag it as syscourse tw so people can block the tag. a lot of people don't.

hi, please stop crosstagging, it's considered spam by tumblr TOS and is an easy way to get mass blocked or have your blog terminated
Spam. Don't spam people. Don't make spammy posts, don't post spammy replies, don't send people spammy messages. Be a regular human. Don't put tags on your posts that will mislead or deceive searchers. For example, don't tag a photo of your cat with "doctor who" unless the name of your cat is actually Doctor Who, and don't overload your posts with #barely #relevant #tags. Of course, meaningful uses of tags are always fine (for example, ironic "punchline" tags that add meaning or context to a post). Don't put dubious code in your posts, like using JavaScript to cause redirects or inject unwanted ads in blogs. Don't use deceptive means to generate revenue or traffic, or create blogs with the primary purpose of affiliate marketing. Spam doesn't belong on Tumblr.
Copied from tumbrs TOS.
It's only bad if it's misleading and my content isn't misleading. What I tag is what's on the post.
If people mass block me? I couldn't care less.

the freaks crowd crosstagging and trying so hard to make themselves believe sasuke is miserable with sakura and forced himself to marry her and love her are actually so sad to watch. and some of them have been doing this for many years....
sasuke, one of the only shounen characters who's been explicitly described by kishimoto as a man who is self driven, actually married sakura just because?
it's been almost a decade. accept that sasuke adores sakura and married her because it was the natural course of action.

https://www.tumblr.com/rachdam/748285087964151808/hot-take-but-main-tags-are-for-everyone-whether-u
no no dw its normal to react like that when youre upset!
agree its frustrating that not everyone wants to tag properly. look i dont talk about any sensitive topics on tumblr or twt but on ao3 im very careful to put all the tags that apply especially when it can be triggering. ive already come across unpleasant surprises cuz of people who hadnt tagged their fics correctly, i know what its like to come across something u dont want to see and its awful
unfortunately though other than reminding them to properly tag their posts or blocking them, idk how to fix this issue & its very frustrating. and EVEN twts word limit shouldnt be an excuse cuz u just need to add a simple #proship and youre done no need to put out a whole sentence lol! anyway yes agree that tumblr is infinitely better than twt for tag space
no need for forgiving either tbh, of course u were upset at the time and it showed in your writing, but the point you emphasize is very important! people should learn how to properly tag their stuff both for people who are looking for that specifically or those who want to avoid it
ngl its nice to talk to someone whos antiship aligned (from what i can tell lol) and have a civil conversation for once. have a nice day!! ✨
Yeah honestly it's bad on both ends I don't think ppl should have to be exposed to content that could potentially trigger them blegh. Even antis will put horrific things and then crosstag just to be rude which is. Super fucked up. I wish people could be Normal and Nice to one another and take other's feelings into consideration but it's the internet so. No peace here ig 🙄
I appreciate you (as well as several other proshippers) being so kind despite how upset I came across, it gives me a lot of hope that hey!!! Some people actually DO care!! 😭💖 If the other proship spaces are gonna be kind Off then at least the Tumblr ones are gonna put in the effort to be kind 💪🏻 I absolutely have to give credit where it's due
I hope you (and everyone else!!) have a super nice day!!!

End of the Year 2023! The Games I thought were kind of bleh.
The Mehs of 2023
I decided to start things off with a relatively inoffensive idea. Once again for your personal enjoyment and perusal I offer you the Top Ten Meh Games I played in 2023.
10:BlazBlue: Entropy Effect
Tumblr media
It's a side-scrolling hack n' slash roguelite affair. It's pretty decent, and I check it every couple months to see what changes they make, and it's been pretty good with the most recent updates. Admittedly I played this for very shallow reasons. It's got Blazblue characters in the game, and that was enough for me to give it a shot. If it didn't have them I probably wouldn't have given it the time of day, but it's got Ragna, Noel, and Hakumen in it, so I was interested. Sure, I apparently am not "a real Blazblue fan," (my favorite Blazblue game is Crosstag, and the only other one I played was Continuum Shift way back on the Xbox360, I think I played one on the 3DS as well?) but I enjoy this game pretty decently.
09: The Callisto Protocol
Tumblr media
I played this one at the very end of 2022, and I actually had some small consideration to putting this on my top ten. In the end I decided against it, because I played it a little bit more at the start of 2023 and I felt myself getting more and more fed up with the game as I played it. It's fine. There are some rather amusing combos you can execute over the course of the game, but overall I just recall feeling basically nothing as Callisto went through its story. I don't know if there's any real intention to make a franchise of The Callisto Protocol, but if they do I feel pretty confident in saying there's nowhere to go for the series but up. The game has a very solid foundation it can build off of, and I would be interested in seeing where a potential sequel would go from the first game. Not every horror needs to be a psychological horror thing, sometimes it can be just as effective to have gross goopy monsters try to violently and bloodily murder you.
08: Diablo IV
Tumblr media
I admit that I went into this one expecting it to not be particularly great. I haven't been a particularly big fan of the Diablo games for the past decade and a bit if I'm being perfectly honest. Around the time of Diablo IV's release I distinctly remember being particularly let-down by Diablo III, and being absolutely flummoxed by Diablo Immortal. So morale wasn't particularly high for IV upon its release. Despite knowing full well I probably wasn't going to have a wonderful time with it I bought Diablo IV regardless. My problem with the gameplay of Diablo IV is it's just kind of dull. In the thirteen years since the release of Diablo III there has been a lot of improvements that other Action RPGs have made to the genre. Diablo IV plays its own game it seems and largely just plays a lot like D3 while ignoring advancements that other games in the genre have implemented. I admit that maybe my issues largely stem from the fact Diablo IV decided to go entirely open-world and try to lean on an MMO style of gameplay. Although there was one thing the game did that I found genuinely neat. If you have an RGB keyboard the game actually takes advantage of that to dim and illuminate keys when your abilities are either on cooldown of available for use. This is another one of those "I'll probably go back and finish it next year," games.
07: Atomic Heart
Tumblr media
More like Atomic Fart! I then proceeded to spend the next eleven hours patting myself on the back for this masterful display of wit that has never before been seen on the internet. Really though I tried playing this game for over two hours, and every time I played it I was just overcome with an intense desire to be doing literally anything else. What didn't help was that every time I played the game the thought of "man, I wish I was playing a game that didn't have bullshit gun leveling in it" also entered my mind. Yet every time I wound up playing Resident Evil 4 instead, shrug. Who the hell knows, maybe I'm doing myself and the game a disservice by stopping at two hours and fourteen minutes, and the game will be an absolute masterclass of wonder and design. But given how every single thing I've ever heard about the game is simply the horny fridge I don't think I'm losing anything by cutting our time short.
06: Hololive Error
Tumblr media
Perhaps it's because I'm getting older but I don't really have a lot of patience for the walking sim variety of horror that crops a lot these days. At least it's not a jumpscare marathon where every time you get caught by the ghost vtuber the game screams at you. I just don't jive with these types of horror games I think, I just don't find them particularly scary. They lack that certain energy that really lends a game a sense of dread. There's also the fact the game glitched out and broke a few times across my playthrough that I think affected the spooky ambience it was trying for.
05: Fairune
Tumblr media
It's fine. Kind of boring if I'm being perfectly honest and I absolutely hated the final boss because it changes to a completely different type of game than it had been up until that point. I bought it as part of a collection with the other Fairune games, but if I'm honest I probably won't play those. It's a retro style RPG sort of in the visual style of one of the oldest Zelda games. Instead of having to actually press a button to do combat, or getting into a battle system you simply instead run into your enemies. If you can't hurt them, you bounce off, if you can hurt them, but you're underleveled you take some damage, and if you're stronger than them you just plow through them with nary a pause in your stride. Since it styles itself like a retro game the game is cryptic and vague about what to do, and where to go. Even with this lack of handholding however you can and probably will finish the game in less than five hours. The problem is I just found it pretty dull, and felt it wore out its welcome by the final boss. I briefly entertained this for the bad games list, but honestly it's not really, I just wouldn't recommend it for anything above a sales price of five dollars.
04: Starfield
Tumblr media
I kind of feel like this one is cheating because I admit I really didn't put too much time into it. Perhaps the game really picks itself up after the opening five hours, I don't know, and I really have no intention of finding out. After the first time you find yourself in a space dogfight I was hit with a sudden and intense feeling of dear god I would rather be playing literally anything else. Because I know that the game is not going to be just this, it's going to be the usual boring Bethesda first person shooter combat they've been putting out for their last three games. I don't want boring ground combat I want thrilling space combat, and I know I won't get that here either. So after another couple of hours of trying to find the fun in this game I decided simply to move on. I wonder if my feelings would've been stronger in either direction if I'd been anticipating the game at all. Nothing about any of what they had shown prior to release made me excited, it just made me give it a dismissive "okay," before moving on to something else. Usually the next announcement or teaser trailer for whatever game was coming up next, because I never searched out Starfield information I only ever saw anything during the various video game presentations.
03: Ghostwire: Tokyo
Tumblr media
I feel bad relegating this to the list of the mehs. For the first few hours I was having a grand old time with it. The combat was smooth, the graphics were nice, the atmosphere was lovely. Problem is that eventually I just hit a point where I decided I was done with it. Some of the monster designs are neat, but really that's all that stands out as particularly good here. The gameplay is fine, I remember the movement feeling really nice as you make your way around Tokyo. But it's a bit thin, and I don't think it was very fun.
02: Superhot
Tumblr media
A controversial statement to be sure. Superhot, in the meh games list?! Why with its unique gameplay how could I dare? Because I didn't like the story constantly interrupting the gameplay that's why. If there were less story and more shooting I think I would have liked it a lot more.
01: Tron: Identity
Tumblr media
It really breaks my heart that the game is simply… fine. It truly does. It has so much going for it! A wonderful art style, a good premise, a nice ambient electronic soundtrack, but unfortunately it doesn't save this game. The story is a moderately interesting one, but the game really doesn't use it to any great effect. It just sort of meanders around until you stumble your way into one of several very unsatisfactory endings. I don't know what it was specifically that hampered down the story, because the writer for the game, Mike Bithell, has written some amazing video game plots in the past. Perhaps the game would have been better if the puzzle mini games were more interesting and varied, I can't say. As it stands this is just a crushing disappointment. The seeds of something great are there, it just didn't do anything to actually make it good, and that's incredibly disappointing.

So many screenshots of gifsets on Instagram smh. Y'all know you can like, make Tumblr accounts and reblog stuff, and then your followers can see the original (moving!) gifs at peak quality, and share them to their own blogs without having to go through the chain of "originally posted by x user" and making people dig through multiple accounts if they wanna like/comment on the original—like, y'all know Tumblr is actually the ideal place for posting about fandom stuff, right? Also, you can say words relating to death without having to censor them, and mass like/reblog people's posts without getting flagged as spam or creeping the OPs out, AND reblogging takes less effort than reposting to another website, or trying to boost your friend's post by leaving a million one word comments like "TALENT!" and "AMAZING!" because over here you don't gotta worry about the algorithm!

No they are not I am afraid. The only primarily plot that stayed the same is Odysseus wants to go home and the names of the creatures he encounters. All the other main plots are changed; Polyphemus, Circe, Skylla, Sirens, Charybdis, Telemacheia everything. That is an objective truth. Now if people like the changes or not is of course up to everyone's guess and taste. However just using the names of the main stops he had is not "primarily plot points are exactly the same". Not even the order of his adventures is the same (see Charybdis). SOME plot points are the same and even those were changed. If you keep like 5-10% of the story and change all the rest is not an adaptation is an original story that was inspired by something else. At least that is what I believe and what I see so far (especially the final parts he released). But okay sure I mean if he didn't even follow the same direction as the Odyssey then what would be the point? I find it interesting that we often say "phew at least he is going in the same direction!" Like...that is the bare minimum... (and as I said in the past it saddens me because he has proven in the two first sagas that he can make it happen, take liberties and be accurate to the sources, in that case more specifically Iliou Persis) and he IS very talented and passionate with his project which again saddens me even more with how my favorite book was treated in this (again plot-wise only)
If we speak that still counts as an "adaptation" or "retelling" because it still follows the story in the same direction then in my opinion the bar for what is "adapting material" is set way too low (but again that is my opinion. It is fine if someone disagrees)
I completely disagree that it couldn't. In fact it was on its way to be in the first two sagas. It is absolutely possible to happen. I think is the mentality of modern adaptations of "oh is impossible to make it as accurate as possible so not even trying to". And yet we have amazing movies and series like Ulysses (1950s) or even better L'Odyssea (1964) that followed like 90% of the plot and kept the characters according to book and took liberties either out of choice or out of budget. We also have the Prince of Egypt which took liberties to make the musical and yet it was incredibly well thought and researched material so no I completely disagree with the notion that "it is impossible" but I respect your opinion.
I know which is why stuff like that annoy me at best and infuriate me at worst because there is already plenty of misinformation there is no need to add more. Now for crosstagging like I said never claimed that one has bad intentions or not. I only said it is starting to get bizarre that every time you wanna Google "the Odyssey" you now need to specify it is the REAL thing and not some adaptation or fanfiction. (And I say that as a retelling/fanfiction writer myself!)
You realize that a fandom has gone off the rails or that it has REALLY taken over when you see "Epic the Musical" tagged under images of Achilles and Patroclus! Like...how are two characters who were both dead by the taking of Troy, yet alone by Odyssey who do not appear not even as a mention for the Underworld as they were in the Odyssey, relatable to this?!
Sorry! XD

an explanation of stranger things tumblr <3
okay so the thing with the stranger things fandom is that it’s VERY divided by ships- so i’m like. in one very specific corner of it yk? i’m in the crowd of literally ~74k~ people on tumblr who are focused on byler, which is primarily about analysis.
so we’ve got the film and english majors analyzing the SHIT out of cinematography, writing, micro expressions, etc etc in order to compile evidence towards byler endgame in season five. it’s lowkey really really impressive some of the stuff that people have picked up on, i can show you if you’re curious. but we just kinda stick to our own corner? there’s a conscious effort not to cross tag, and for the most part people are chill about letting other people do their thing.
then you’ve got the m*levens, who a lot of are fine and really nice, actually, but there’s a fairly decent chunk who devote way too much of their time into invading byler inboxes to spew made up shit about m*leven and rant about byler, most of which is wildly homophobic or borderline pedophilic at worst. we don’t talk about them. for a while m*levens had an issue with crosstagging, and invading the byler tag with shit, but that’s gotten a lot better, so theyre fairly chill now. so despite the shipping war we both just tend to stay in our own spaces to quietly fire shots at the other ship that are properly tagged so the other people never see it- peaceful m*leven shippers ily and you are never included in my ranting about the other members of your tag <3
then you’ve got the st*ddies. the FUCKING st*ddies. a lot of them are really cool! but a LOT a lot of them crosstag SO MUCH. they tag their fics and posts with other ships and characters that aren’t at all mentioned in order to gain more traction, meaning that a good chunk of the byler fanfiction on ao3 is really just st*ddie fanfiction that’s horribly tagged. fuck the shitty taggers, y’all SUCK.
lumax, ronance, jopper and elmax shippers are super chill, just kinda peacefully doing their thing while everyone else goes absolutely apeshit over everything.
j*ncy and st*ncy shippers are constantly at each other’s throats, that’s,, a lot to unpack.
and one other section of the overall stranger things fandom. the fuckin weirdoes.
this section includes the billy stans who are willing to forgive him for being a racist abusive fuckwad simply because he’s pretty, the stobin shippers who enjoy erasing the fact that robin is literally gay, and the m*levens who spend their time popping into byler inboxes practically drooling over the thought of a m*leven sex scene, which is the most fucked up part of relatively surface stranger things tumblr. we don’t talk about any of these people.
i’m not even going to bother talking about the h*rringroves.
and a bit more about byler tumblr because i have a lot to say on the matter- it’s kinda subdivided into smaller sections of people each doing different things, even more so than most other divisions on the overall fandom. there’s of course some overlap, and people will reblog stuff from all over the board, but for the most part people stick to creating one or two specific things. the divisions are the artists, fanfic authors, theorizers, shitposters, and debaters.
the artists and fanfic authors are self explanatory.
the theorizers are absolutely INSANE at what they do, i’m constantly amazed by how much smarter these people are than me.
the shitposters just kinda hang around making jokes and screaming about whatever new crumbs we got that day.
the debaters are.. interesting. they’re the ones that get the most hate in their inboxes, and rather than ignore it, or post it and just make fun of the asker, they end up starting huge arguments on their blog with anonymous askers. they’re pretty cool tbh? they do a really good job of summarizing all our evidence into clear concise points, it’s just. a little overwhelming to see constant fighting over in one corner.
but yeah! stranger things tumblr as summarized by a byler who enjoys poking around other tags :)
