Typing Quirk Suggestions for a Robot kin
I hope it gives you a wonderful uptime! :3
Mod Vintage (⭐)
Tumblr media
Letter replacements:
Replace "O" with zeroes "0"
Replace "i" or "L" with ones "1"
Replace "one" with "1", including "one" sounds like "any1", or "we 1 = we won" (the past tense of "win")
Replace "zero" with "0"
Frankly, you can just replace all sorts of letters with numbers, such as
R = 12
N = 17
B = 8
A = 4
E = 3
etc.
or maybe make all "A"s and "i"s capitalized, cause "A.I." (artificial intelligence
Prefixes and Suffixes:
Get inspired by programming languages!
Begin your text with "//" like a comment on C++
If you prefer other languages comment tags, you can use "< !--your text-- >"
Or maybe begin it with " int main () { std::cout << "your text"" and end with "return 0; }" like C++ too
Greet people with the classic "Hello world!"
Or greet people with "beep boop!" honestly, I have no idea where this comes from, but it's cute.
Or write down html stuff, like sandwiching your italicized text with "< em> "
The possibilities are endless!
Robot Lingo:
(under the cut because there's a LOT! maybe terabytes! ...just kidding >;3c)
.
some of these are from the machinesoul.net robot server! (not sponsored) (we're not in there anymore, but we saw the robot lingo shared there when we were)

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it is okay to grieve dormancy. Dormancy is normal and sometimes healthy, it should be treated as normal and possibly even healthy, and it’s not the same as death, however it is okay to grieve.
It’s like if a friend moved far away, and you don’t know when you’ll see them again. It’s a normal part of life, sometimes it just happens, sometimes it has to happen, but you’ll still feel pain and grief from it, and that’s okay. You experienced a loss. It may not be permanent, but it’s still a loss, and grief is normal.

One of our headmates (me, the host) has somehow discovered a notch in our inner world that none of the other headmates can access.
It's so strong that it convinced me my greatest fear had come true and I had a bad meltdown to my best squish over text. The biggest issue is we don't know where it is, how to get to it or how I got there, all we know was it was "so deep you couldn't see the sun" and my partners couldnt get me out.
Sorry this ask is so venty, do you guys have any advice on what to do?
Hi!! Okay so this space sounds like it might be a space that either a) holds some trauma or b) might cause dormancy! I can’t tell you for *sure* obviously, but I would avoid the space. Make sure to note it in a map if you have one, and try and find out about it without quite… going there. It’s very possible it might’ve been a space for you to go dormant in so take caution 💚

anyone else ever grieve the inherent reality of being part of a system? like. i front once or twice every few months if i’m lucky. i’m never really gonna live a full life. best case scenario, i’ll get maybe 5% of a life’s worth of consciousness throughout my entire existence. i won’t be able to decide our job or where we live or even our friends. the best i’ll get will be one vote out of the crowd that could get vetoed anyways if long-standing hosts aren’t fond of it when i’m not around to defend it. all of the friends i’ve ever had really only cared about me in the first place because they were friends with other members of the system. i’ll be lucky to make a handful of my own friends with my fronting frequency. all of those odds assuming i don’t go entirely dormant. it’s fine being here and all, but it’ll never fully be my own life

Here's to headspace exomemories!
In complex dissociative disorders, headspaces/innerworlds are often defense mechanics a young child comes up with to feel safe. But, for you, it might just be somewhere to hang out with your headmates! Both are normal experiences, and should be appreciated!
Shoutout to:
Funny headspace moments, like inside jokes and such
Violence of some sort, whether "cartoonish" violence or real violence (we have experience with this, shoot us an ask if you're in a similar situation or need advice)
Sad moments, like headmates going dormant
Happy moments, such as getting to hug your loved ones
Anything else I missed!
Headspaces can be full of whimsy, joy, grief, and every emotion in between. Take some time today to appreciate yours, too, if you have one!
Stay safe!
🖤💜💙💚💛

Recovering from total dormancy is rough af
By the time my headmates started coming back I had basically convinced myself they were just hallucinations from my psychosis so now I'm still struggling to believe that they aren't just hallucinations
Doesn't help that communication is absolute trash compared to before the dormancy
Two of my headmates used to switch out multiple times a day and now one of them is back in dormancy after coming out of it for a short time and the other one keeps disappearing for weeks at a time
Three of them have yet to come out of dormancy at all
Then there is Z and it is around but it keeps to itself most times and whenever he is near the front he rarely ever talks (Which is normal for them, they've started talking to me more the past several weeks but it's still pretty inconsistent)
They seem to be the only one who can come and go from the front and headspace whenever they want
I'm frontstuck (which is normal for me) and haven't entered headspace in probably around two years now and the only other headmate who is out of dormancy says that he keeps getting locked in headspace which I guess is part of why he disappears for weeks at a time
There is also the constant fear that they're gonna disappear again and that I'm gonna be alone, I went through one hell of a time the first time everyone went dormant and I don't know if I could handle it again

"Dormancy is a good thing!! You shouldn't hate it!!" Until I've lost everyone I've ever known due to dormancy, I lost my best friend, my lover, everyone.
I sobbed for hours because I lost my beautiful wife, I've lost my best friend who's been with me since forming, I lost my brother.
Dormancy may be a good thing for some, but for me it is a cruel beast that shows no mercy and takes everything from you in an instant.
So yeah, I fucking hate dormancy.

A very traumatized, very unwell, heavily grieving alter whose spouse went dormant laughed and smiled genuinely for the first time in nine months today! I’m so proud of him!

Requests are closed for a little bit.
I won't go into detail, but we lost someone who was deeply cared for by our system to dormancy a few days ago. I and my system need time to grieve, so we aren't going to be super active. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

TW/CW: Vent, dead animals mention, gore mention, dormancy mention, fear, imprisonment.
Okay so, our headspace is... Well horrific to say the least, it's a forest with gore and blood everywhere, corpses of all types of things. Most of use just stay in the clearing, but one day I went out into the forest, I traveled for at least half a day, when I almost stumbled into the void. It was the scariest thing I'd ever seen. Dormant alters frozen in pure fear, just floating around. I ran as fast as I could, and eventually got back to the clearing. It's safe to say I'm never going back there again. It's just so hard, because I know who did this, but I shouldn't, and if he finds out I'm afraid of what he'll do. But as long as I don't sign off who I am, he won't find me. I'm just so scared. Yeah he was a kid, but He Hurt Them! How Could He Live With Himself After That!?!??! I hear that some of them are still in that prison on the other side of headspace... I want to go after them, but I'm afraid, it'll take days, and our gatekeeper will know somethings wrong, that I am missing... If you have any suggestions please let me/us know.
Whatever you decide to do, please be careful and take care of yourself. Try to remember that your headspace is very personal and represents a lot of your collective trauma and past. You might uncover a lot of triggering things that you had no prior knowledge of. If you are able, I would recommend working with a professional through this.
If you follow this blog, you might also know that I often and highly advise people to take a step back and spend time understanding *why* things are the way they are in their innerworld/headspace. It feels very much real, and it is, but think about it like you might about nightmares. They're not a 1 to 1 comparison to real life, but they're often a representation of it.
