why don't i allow israel/palestine asks anymore?

to get started, i will establish my stance on the subject: i am pro-palestine, and i've listed some ways you can help at the bottom of this post. all y'all zionists can leave now, please and thanks. this is for my lovely followers who may be leaving asks. in addition, this post is not targeted at any one person in particular, this is just the result of a lot of my own thought over the conflict.

after a several month-long debate with myself, i am no longer allowing any asks about the israel-palestine war. any asks about the subject will be immediately trashed. here's why.

i suffer heavily from compassion fatigue. and i know some of y'all reading saw the words "compassion fatigue" and wrote me off as an asshole making shit up so i have a reason not to care. anyone claiming compassion fatigue "isn't real" is not only failing to demonstrate the very same empathy they demand from others, but is also just plainly uneducated on the subject, and therefore has no right to speak.

compassion fatigue is not neccessarily caused by exposure to information, like one would see just perusing the internet, but a person's empathy can be heightened/damaged by separate personal issues, which i won't be getting into on the internet, causing them to struggle with caring deeply about other issues (source). what i will say is that this post is not meant to demean anyone for doing what they can to help, especially social media activists. it is because of social media activism that i know about this topic at all. however, talking directly to people about the issue unprompted is not the answer. i understand that the people who do this are likely teenagers, probably 13-17, looking to make a difference. i can say this, because i too was once a teenager, aged 13-17, looking to make a difference.

As you might have noticed, this blog hasn't mentioned anything about the war in occupied Palestine yet.

The only reason for this is that I've been busy in real life and I'm going through quite some mental health issues at the moment. Which you might have noticed in the lack of posts as of recently. Which arguably isn't an excuse but here we go:

As much as this is a vampire smut blog, which I don't treat as my personal blog, I can't remain silent about this genocide that is unfolding in occupied Palestine.

I stand with Palestine and the Palestinian people.

In the past month the fascist Israeli government has killed 10000+ Palestinians, of which 4000 were children.

Some might argue that it's complicated, but there is nothing complicated about the situation.

On one side you have people who have been oppressed for over 75 years, half of which are children.

On the other side you have one of the largest military forces on earth backed with billions by the largest military force on earth, which for the record is an imperialist country.

Israel is an apartheid settler's state, waging a genocide on the people of Palestine, it's as simple as that.

It takes a lot of mental gymnastics to get around those facts.

This all does not mean that I condone what Hamas has done, the killing of innocents is always something to condemn. Which is exactly why the west needs to stop helping Israel kill thousands of innocents for the sake of imperialism.

As an antifascist who opposes apartheid, genocide, imperialism, racism and antisemitism something needs to be clear:

Standing with Palestine is not antisemitism, criticizing Israel is not antisemitism. Equating the opposition to zionism with antisemitism is antisemitism in itself.

Don't let anyone tell you anything different.

It's been a very rough school semester to be Jewish and to be Muslim on my campus right now. The spread of ignorance has been so bad that I've had to leave spaces because I actually felt like if someone looked at me and recognized I was Ashkenazi, they might seek to harm me. This is indeed a difficult time where all Jewish hearts are not united, because there is strife being sown in this world by Jewish hands.

I am Jewish and not a Zionist. The Israel Gov is committing genocide. Hamas is a terrorist group that's ideals are not reflective of all Palestinians.

The wish of one people to have a homeland can in no way take away the right for another group of people to live peacefully in theirs.

Hey guys, this is a serious topic on my silly PB blog but because of how my blog is branded it's something I need to talk about.

Starbucks has been lobbying on the side of Israel to kill Palestinians which is something I do not support and have been boycotting Starbucks. With my blog and brand literally being called Solbucks, I've been debating changing the name to something else to stand as far away from Starbucks as possible.

I am mostly wondering if any of you think the name needs to be changed, and if so do you guys have any suggestions?

While we whitness the Palestinian Genocide and while human lives always come first, I want to tell you all to remember to archive and document EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING YOU CAN ABOUT THIS GENOCIDE.

This is a major historical event and we need to be documenting and saving as much information as we can about this time period we are living in. We need to make sure to be clipping newspapers, archiving links and printing out those lists of names of those who have died…EVERYTHING. Yes printing as in PHYSICAL COPIES TOO! You never know what’s going to happen to the internet, so be sure to be saving things in a physical way too.

Why is archiving all this so important? To make sure none of what’s happening in Palestine and what’s been happening there for the last 70+ years can never happen anywhere else again. To make sure people in the future know the crimes Israel has committed and remembers those lost to their acts.

So, please keep going to protests, boycotting what you can and anything else that gets us closer to a free Palestine, but also don’t forget to archive what you can when you can.
