An international tribunal will investigate missing children and unmarked graves associated with Canada's residential school system, including public sessions in Montreal in 2026.

The Native Women's Shelter of Montreal, in partnership with Amnistie internationale Canada francophone (AICF), will host the Permanent Peoples' Tribunal. 

Na'kuset, executive director at the Native Women's Shelter, said the organization is spearheading the effort to demand accountability for alleged crimes committed against Indigenous children at residential schools. The theme of the tribunal will be Âcimowin, which is a nêhiyawêwin (Plains Cree language) word meaning "true story" or "an account."

I love the Canada's Drag Race Season 4 cast a normal amount <3

Edit: Happy Pride! Last Wednesday I went to Starry Night and met the Top 3 of Canada's Drag Race Aurora Denim and Venus as well as USA Drag Race Season 16 winner from Taiwan: Nymphia Wind! Glad we all color coordinated and I enjoyed meeting them a lot. They liked my last minute put together outfit and I definitely vote yellow for sure.

After fleeing Uganda, Kateregga Raymond Calvin’s mind is more at ease than when he first arrived in Canada just over a year ago.

The refugee claimant was being harassed so he sought a new life in what he describes as a “peaceful” country. Calvin was able to find a place to call home in Montreal, but that’s when the problems started within his apartment building.

“My neighbours started bullying me. So I was literally kicked out of the house,” Calvin, 25, said in an interview Thursday.

The newcomer was the victim of racial taunts from other tenants, who he says targeted his dark skin and accent. At one point, Calvin claims he was told he was “not needed in this country.” [...]

A few weeks ago, I met with a friend to walk around the Plateau/Mile-End neighbourhoods to finally try Wilensky's (established in 1932) fountain soda and sandwich, eat the best kouing amann at Au Kouing Amann (more pictures on my IG post) and stumble upon a very interesting green backstreet.
