And yesterday Sydney's Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) was striking for a pay rise (BECAUSE THEY ARE ESSENTIAL WORKERS. BECAUSE SYDNEY HAS ONE OF THE BEST TRANSIT SYSTEMS IN THE WORLD. BECAUSE THE CITY WOULD BE CRIPPLED WITHOUT THE RTBU WORKERS) and here were the headlines:

mind you, the Federal Court and the Fair Work Commission have had to issue an injunction on the strike because they have the authority to intervene in protected industrial action if the strikes are plausibly found to:

Endanger the life,

Endanger the personal safety

Endanger the health, or the welfare, of the population or of part of it;

Cause significant damage to the Australian economy or an important part of it.

So the strike which only lasted 1 day and was only in the city of Sydney had to be legally suspened because the court recognised that the trains stopping would: to endanger the life, the personal safety or health, or the welfare, of the population or of part of it AND cause significant damage to the economy of Australia and yet the media keeps telling the public that these people do NOT deserve the pay raise they're negotiating for.
