A few weeks ago in like the middle of the night me and @perseus-jackass started spitballing about a nightmare polycule between Transfem Grant (Greta), Transfem Jason (Jane), Tara Markov, and Jade Nguyen. And it's very important that you all know that we assigned each relationship in this therapy session in the making a Chappelle Roan song.

For the curious few:

Casual - teenage JaneGreta. Jane is in her soft girl Robin era and Greta is trying too hard to pull off the grunge look. They're enemies with benefits but Adeline keeps inviting Jane on family getaways, it's girl time she says, but she's actually their biggest fan. Nonetheless Greta has inherited her father's commitment issues, while Jane is already picking out rings.

Naked in Manhattan - JaneTara. Tara is the first girl she really has a crush on, and while Tara knows this she tends to ignore it until a falling out with Slade where she uses Jane as a rebound (not that Jane knows this, but Jane is also rebounding from Greta), realizes she likes girls, but also realizes that trying anything with Jane would put them both in danger

Guilty Pleasure - GretaJade, comes about when they're roommates terrorizing the Titans together. Jade shows Greta what it means to be a girl (everyone in this story is a mentally ill unreliable narrator) and Greta develops a crush she knows can't be requited because of Roy. Greta can't commit to Jane, but at least subconsciously she knows that Jade won't ever be a real option so she feels safer about latching onto her, even if her fantasies do make her feel guilty sometimes. Not enough to stop though

Super graphic Ultra modern girl - JadeTara. Jane and Greta are dead. Slade's rouse is up, and with it Tara's (less willing than in canon) affiliation. Jade and Roy are officially done. For now. They meet by chance, and they are both hurting in the same way, aching for something to cling onto. It was just supposed to be some fun with a hot girl, until it's not. Until it's casual hangouts, and dinner dates, and Tara is in Jade's apartment more often than not. It can't last forever, but they take what they can get while they have it.

Picture You - JaneJade, when Jane is training in the league and Jade has just given birth to her daughter but isn't willing to tell Roy yet. They rely on each other for emotional support, using intimacy as a crutch that only lasts them so long. The idealized versions of each other are more appealing than the reality. They can both pretend for a little while to be who the other needs. Jane can be soft and giving, a safe place for Jade to land, strong enough to take what Jade has to give. Jade can make herself feel infallible, in control of things, she can hurt Jane just the way she likes to be hurt and pretend that only being able to cause harm is something she can take pride in.

Red Wine Supernova - Older JaneGreta. Not a single person in either of their families is fond of this. Jane is a legally dead crime lord and Greta is playing bodyguard. They're utterly disgusting together, there isn't a rooftop in the East End they haven't at least made out on. Do not assume this means they're done being toxic, beating each other until they draw blood is foreplay, they argue like a married couple but with more threats of bodily harm, neither one of them knows what Safe or Sane means - and with the level of mental illness going on Consensual is debatable - but every interaction has some kind of BDSM undertone.
