As Magical Warfare became mechanised, and Mages Towers’ fell far behind established lines and combat zones, those powerful Wizards needed to be moved up into the fight with something that’ll house their great magicks and be just as defensible.

I’ve finally made a Tonk! I had told Apocrypha Now in the past I’d do one but I never got around to it, and it’s been a a while now but I’ve been constantly thinking about Narcoleptic Wizard‘s Aethertonk challenge. Welp, finally decided todo it and I’m super happy with the results, it’s not as silly as most tonks are which is a bit of a shame but I definitely think it’s badass atleast—and I’m very happy that the turret AND wheels fully function, no need to pretend it moves across the board I can just push it and it goes.

Got this new HP card game for my birthday a few days ago, and I just wanted to talk about some cards because they all have very beautiful designs.

1. Sev my love 😍 I love the little potions in the background and how grumpy he looks. The only thing I kinda dislike is the shape of his face. I just think it gets way too wide, and where is his chin? But he is still extremely cute.

2. Tonks and Remus are so cute 😍 Remus looking good despite the full moon, and tonks having both her old (rabbit) and new (wolf) patronus in the background is so cute. Also, on the side is always a short description of the character and for Tonks it says “A metamorphmagus and member of the order of the phoenix - together with her husband, Remus Lupin.” 😍😍 My parents!

3. Luna, she looks so good and the little thestrals in the background are so cute. Just think she should smile.

4. I just love Trelawney (especially because of Emma Thompson) and this design captures her crazy nature really well.

And the Start of Something Terrible

After gathering at the Great Hall, Jeniferl could not stop wondering about many things

One is how she'll start this year without Professor Rakepick.

She still calls her professor despite everything she's done. She just wanted her to know the reason behind her actions and apologize to the people she hurt.

Another is that she still couldn't stop thinking about Jacob.

She may have finally found and save him but he disappear again without making any contact to her the whole summer. But now she knows that he's alive gives her a little bit of peace in mind.

Speaking of someone who didn't make any contact, Ben was also nowhere to be seen despite her and Rowan looking for him the whole summer.

They felt like he's been avoiding them, especially Jeniferl. But Jeni blames herself again cause she though that he has become more scared after what she brought them into. She become worried about how she was bringing him to danger in their relationship.

And after a strange man took her suddenly and swore to secrecy during Bill's celebration last school year, she can only keep this thoughts on to herself. She rather do a lot of helping instead to the people she caused trouble to find her brother and find the last cursed vault as soon as possible to end the curse.

Though Rowan notice how Jeniferl was too worried and thinking more about others without even thinking about herself. She can see that Jeniferl is carrying too many responsibility even though its just their first day of of sixth year. So she wanted her to take a break in her own way, by touring her around Hogwarts.

They are already sixth year and too late for a tour around Hogwarts but Rowan thought that Jeni has been too occupied that she didn't have time to enjoy the beauty of the castle like how she sees it. Rowan tour her around, inform her about the facts and details like she's a Professor touring her first year students. Seeing this makes Jeniferl happy and, for a bit, forget her worries and enjoyed her time with Rowan.

"I can already see now that Rowan will become a wonderful Professor in the future"

Jeniferl thought as she felt a strange shiver when she passes the window...

phew, would have been better to make a comic of this one but this is already enough for me~ dammit i don't have the time to draw anymore (╥﹏╥) But finishing this lighten the weight of wips that i've been carrying in my head~~

Gotta clear my mind and prepare for board review and exam soon y'know... pray for me...

The twang of the guitars, the clink of glasses, the steady two-step stomp of boots, all of it sizzles into nothingness as TK looks at him with shiny eyes and pulls his lip between his teeth and jerks his head toward the shadowy back hallway where the bathrooms sit isolated from the noise of a rowdy Friday night.

The moment the door is locked behind them, TK pounces, like he’s been starving for something only Carlos can offer. He makes a small sound as he’s shoved against the wall, feeling posters advertising half-price pitchers on Tuesdays crinkle under his back, but then there’s warm palms on his face and a mouth on his, and he can’t really complain about that.

He quickly becomes obsessed with the way TK kisses him. He’s steady and sure with what he wants, pulling Carlos’ face this way and that to get the angle he desires. There’s more to it that thrills Carlos, too: the way he can curl his hands around TK’s hips and feel his thumbs dig into the bone; the way TK groans and pants and whines into his mouth, all of it vibrating against Carlos’ tongue. He’s so vocal, like these noises have been buried deep in his chest, and Carlos tests the waters—bites down on TK’s plump lower lip and shoves his leg between TK’s, and the moan that he feeds into Carlos’ mouth is sweeter than anything Carlos has ever tasted.

How I feel about this character

RIP Tonks, you had so much potential :( I love the initial version of Tonks that we're introduced to—she's cool and funny and so very queer—and I simply refuse to accept the slander and lies that is every book following OOTP!!

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Fleur, and in a triad with Bill/Fleur! I can also see Tonks/Ginny happening when they're both a bit older.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I love it when she has a good friendship with Sirius and Remus. They should be her fun queer uncles who she loves to take the piss out of!!

My unpopular opinion about this character

Tonks is just as queer-coded as Remus and painting her as a straight girl who pathetically pined after him/forced him into a relationship rubs me the wrong way. I'd rather read a queer remadora (esp with trans or nonbinary tonks) than something with Tonks hate.

I also think it's kind of silly to call her a cop (esp if you don't do the same with kingsley) bc yes, she is technically an auror, but she's also 25 and already in an underground organisation that's using that position of power to circumvent the ministry's bullshit and generally fight bigotry?

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Lmaoo well I for sure wish she did not get straight-married!! She could've just continued to do her thing and not gotten wrapped up in that mess of a plot!

andromeda and ginny (@saintsenara also asked about andromeda and harry so answering that one here too): poor andromeda. your beloved husband, treasured daughter and the son-in-law you tolerate all die, and then you get (1) seventeen year old trying to do up godparent with his gobby girlfriend in tow. nightmare. in this is what andromeda imagined teddy would be up to each time harry and ginny babysat:

i reckon it takes andromeda a long time to properly warm up to and trust harry and ginny after the war. harry, she understands, has at least some claim to being involved in teddy's life as godfather that she honours even if she doesn't like it: ginny's just an add-on to that. i do tend to like the idea of andromeda as someone who left her family and married for love but who is still marked by her aristocratic origins, who retains a kind of protective conservativism and sense of propriety that makes her a bit sceptical of this guardianship arrangement of 'grandmother plus teenage godson plus his girlfriend apparently'. i think it gets a bit easier with time, though as teddy gets older, i can imagine harry still being quite deferential to andromeda's wishes while ginny's the one to lightly challenge andromeda's authority a bit more and taking a more liberal approach as a guardian to teddy. i can imagine them falling out over ginny buying teddy some booze or to taking him to get a piercing or tattoo or something. (andromeda was born in the mid-fifties, after all). this conflict with ginny reminds andromeda, painfully, of her clashes with dora all those years ago, which just makes it all that bit worse.

parvati and harry: yung parvati definitely fancied harry. and you know what? i maintain that yung harry thought parvati was quite fit too (he's into hair and he stares at hers a bit. i rest my case). i also maintain that the only reason yung harry didn't fancy parvati more is because she giggled too much and he can be such a sourpuss. and as a paid up member of the campaign to let girls giggle (CLGG) i say: justice for patil!

peter and lily: to me, peter was exactly the kind of misogynist dweeb that male friendship groups often pick up early and let slosh around within their ranks for far too long past their expiration date. (you know what i mean! there's so often that one guy! and he sucks! and they're like yeah but he's been here too long there's no getting rid! and then he ignores you when you go with them to the pub! fuck that guy!) i don't think peter and lily were ever close - i'm always struck how in her letter to sirius, lily talks about peter's visit in the context of her trying to have his friends visit to cheer him up, rather than out of her own affection for him ('James is getting a bit frustrated shut up here, he tries not to show it but I can tell — also, Dumbledore’s still got his Invisibility Cloak, so no chance of little excursions. If you could visit, it would cheer him up so much. Wormy was here last weekend, I thought he seemed down, but that was probably the news about the McKinnons...') i tend to subscribe to the view of the marauders that is sirius, peter and, to a lesser but still real extent, remus, all orbiting james, and lily being closest with sirius of those four by virtue of him being james' best mate, but never really being one of the four of them herself, and definitely being least close with peter out of all of them. i don't think lily distrusted peter, but i think the secret-keeper switch shouldn't be taken as sign of great warmth and affection.

petunia and james: james, obviously, thought petunia was a fucking nightmare. petunia, obviously, thought james was a spoiled layabout wastrel of the highest order. she did however get a wee look at lily and james' wedding pictures despite herself and think sirius was really fit. just because she's a dickhead but that doesn't mean she can't have taste!

1. the character everyone gets wrong

Err... all of them? I'm not even kidding. More on this here.

Bellatrix: fortunately there's been progress in the fandom, but for years everyone loved to describe her as an overly sexualized, crazy, shrieking mindless slave, when she's actually quite the opposite. She is sadistic, but not insane, she's passionate but not irrational (she is the only one who knew Snape was a traitor; to me, it's because of a peculiar mix of rationality and intuition that shows her to be actually quite intelligent). Nothing suggests her being promiscuous in the text and I would actually argue the opposite of her (why would she ever lower herself to sleep with someone who she deems her inferior - so basically everyone -, even just to satisfy mere physical desires? This post, to me, is Bella at her core).

Narcissa: this is canon Narcissa, all of you are perfectly entitled to your soft babygirl headcanons, of course, but then again you are perfectly entitled to be wrong <3 [also, shameless self-promo: x]

The blorboification continues for every single member of the Black family and I hate it so much you have no idea:

Andromeda: somehow described as a soft little girl who loved her mean, mean sisters so much and had to run away? Bitch stood up to seven centuries of tradition, and abandoned her sisters and parents, to marry a boy she had fallen in love with maybe two years prior (we know this based on Tonks' age). Good for her, but as I have said previously, both Narcissa and Andromeda (and Sirius, really) strike me as a bit selfish. The one with the romantic attachment to the idea of her family, the child most like Walburga, is Bellatrix.

But this is nothing, NOTHING, compared to what this fandom does to Regulus and Sirius.

Regulus: canonically a Voldemort fanboy, with newspaper clippings of him everywhere, and a blood supremacist. Sirius says it better than anyone: Reggie is soft. But not in the way the fandom believes, nope. He's just a coward who, much like Draco years later, was super excited to be like Bellatrix (Lucius) until he realized what killing really meant, what fighting a war really was, and most importantly because Voldemort touched him personally (Kreacher, whom he loved). Voldemort was probably a little more deranged than he had been at the beginning of the First War, and someone that had inherited the Black pride/haughtiness probably didn't like being branded like cattle and treated like a slave, on top of everything else.

Sirius: fanon Sirius is basically another character. Canon!Sirius is: tall, canonically incredibly handsome, quite masculine (in an explicit and toxic way, especially as a teenager in the fucking 1970s - the skirt-wearing, feminist one-liners spouting version of Sirius is something I just cannot get behind), a dick, a bit classist ((don't come @ me with your "oh, but what about Moony?!" because a) we don't know Remus' wealth when Lyall and Hope were still alive, we only know he can't get a job as an adult because of his condition and b) Remus is Sirius' exception, in the same way Lily is Snape's when he calls her a Mudblood - everyone else is in his eyes)), brave to the point of recklessness, quite cruel, funny, witty, magically talented, loyal to a fault, extremely charismatic and everything else outlined here. For the same reasons, I'll say Remus too.

Don't even get me started on Severus Snape. Other people have spoken on this better than I could ever. At least here on Tumblr, though, it seems to me that things are getting a little better after years of absolutely bizarre takes. Or maybe I've blocked all of the idiots idk.

Dumbledore. More on this here and maybe I'll outline my ideas better in a future post.

Also: I do not accept any characterization of Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch jr, Reggie, and Rabastan Lestrange as anything less than violent blood supremacists. Yes, they can be nuanced and gay (and only for each other might I add), but these people are the KKK (metaphorically, of course, because I hate comparing real-world tragedies to completely fictional ones, but still).

Lucius: a complete dick, but definitely not abusive. The man couldn't raise a hand to Draco if the Dark Lord threatened to kill him over it.

Speaking of which: my darling Lord Voldemort. Not much to say about him really because I know that some people do write him in a very interesting way (and I am open to interpretations of his character even if they are different from how I see him - and I have a very fucking specific vision of him). The problem is that perhaps three (3) of these people write him with Bellatrix and that saddens me.

Now, I mostly read First Wizarding War stuff or Death Eater stuff so I can't really speak to many other characters, especially in Harry's generation, but anything other than cowardly Draco is not a good Draco characterization to me. Ron is hands-down the best one in the Golden Trio and Ron Weasley bashing is pathetic. Hermione has faults but is ultimately a strong, take-no-bullshit girl and I'll take that over basically any and all female YA protagonists. And Harry is sassiness personified, but with a heart of gold, and oh-so-caring. Which is also why I can't read dark!Harry for the life of me. It just makes me giggle.
