OMG RAVEN YOU’RE INTO EVER AFTER HIGH? I love it but can’t talk about it bc none of my friends have seen it 😭 I wish it was talked about more, especially with how deep their lore runs. I love EAH’s dynamics with the complexities of destiny. If twst followed the same logic as eah’s world it would be so interesting. How would you feel if the worlds were to mesh together and how it would work? You can interpret that in any way you want; the characters meeting or twst being bound to the same rules and societal expectations of eah, or whatnot.
Also who’s your favorite eah character compared to your favorite twst character (Leona)?Jade, right?
And have you read the eah books? I haven’t, but I’m going to try to sometime!
Eah alt account when?
I'm still salty that the Monster High x Ever After High crossover movie never saw the light of day-- Part of the reason why I don't like Disney (I mean the faceless corpo, not all Disney products) is because they have such a strong association with fairy tales that it pushes other interpretations out of the market or it leads to people assuming Disney "owns" those fairy tales. Ever After High's lore and themes run so much deeper than most other fairy tale reimaginings I've seen (and I've seen a lot). It's such a shame it doesn't get the respect and recognition it deserves even though EAH is the one out here challenging the status quo whereas modern Disney is content with mediocrity that appeals to the masses.
I think EAH and TWST, at their cores, share similar ideas so combining them would work well. Friendship, self-identity, defining your own future, questioning what "good" and "evil" truly are... It's all there. I'd imagine that if Twisted Wonderland (or at least NRC) followed the same rules as EAH, then everyone would be descendants of their Disney counterparts. (This is actually a common misperception of what TWST was to new fans; people mistakenly believe the TWST characters are children of the classic Disney villains. This has never been canon.) Unfortunately, I'd have to take away the Disney villains being twisted to be "good" guys in Twisted Wonderland's world in order for this to work by EAH rules, so... There's that to consider. This, in turn, can result in the student body splitting into Royals (pro-following one's destiny) and Rebels (anti-following one's destiny). Perhaps RSA and NRC could be one school in this AU...? Just so we have a mix of "good" and "evil" descended children in the same vicinity as one another. A must-have are the constantly bickering Narrators!! It's only really when Yuu shows up that the majority opinion starts to shift. Maybe then Crowley becomes concerned with students rising up and fighting back against the system that relies on them being complacent to keep the cycle of stories going. I've seen some readings of EAH which theorize that Royals guaranteed a happy ending is a stand-in for privilege, and that interpretation leads into very interesting conflicts when we also consider that magic in Twisted Wonderland is a privilege afforded to few.
To cover just the dorm leaders (because covering all the TWST characters would make this post way longer), I definitely see Riddle, Kalim, Idia, and Malleus as Royals and Leona, Azul, and Vil as Rebels. Here's my thought process:
Riddle is pretty self-explanatory. He comes from a background where he's used to being told what to do by his mother and so he also heavily relies on her strict, unyielding teachings to play by the book when he goes out there in the real world. Riddle is inflexible and hesitant to go against the grain--and, more importantly, he fully believes that following the rules will lead to his happiness... that doing as his fairy tale ordains will lead to a happy ending. What happens to the Queen of Hearts is dubious in the end since it's framed as Alice's dream, so I think that vagueness gives Riddle hope that by behaving himself, he'll earn the happiness he desires.
Leona is a Rebel, and not just because that's the aesthetic of his dorm. Being that he is highly intelligent and demonstrates a lot of foresight, he'd be aware of what future is in store for him and aggressively fighting against that. It would make him more desperate than ever to prove his worth, because not only does everyone see his powers as terrifying, but they also see him as a future brother murderer and dictator that will bleed the land dry of resources. It'd make the situation with his family even more strained than it already is, not to mention the extra jealousy he must feel toward Cheka, who is still too young to understand what's going to happen later.
Azul is someone who acts like a Royal but is actually a Rebel. He acts polite and like he plays by the rules, but clearly he doesn't behind the scenes. I see Azul as the kind of Rebel akin to Duchess Swan... as in, he believes he can steal away someone else's destiny for himself. Azul would constantly be looking for loopholes to save himself. He's put way too much stock into becoming a better, stronger person and he'd want to defend this new life he has made for himself. His obsession with protecting his contracts could translate well here.
Kalim is a Royal because he's mega rich and has been sheltered from the concept of bad things that happen to normal people; he has nothing to worry about. It also helps that Kalim is twisted from a character that doesn't meet a bad ending. I think he'd be aware of Jami's doomed destiny, but Kalim is so ignorant that he thinks it'll just be fine and it'll work itself out. Part of his growth could be being forced to reckon with the reality that Jamil is suffering under the legacy assigned to him and accepting the role that he plays in that by not acting.
Idia is a Royal--or at least pre-book 6 Idia is. He's a very pessimistic guy and repeatedly expresses hopelessness about the future, bemoaning the curse he and his family have to bear. Idia doesn't want to try to fight his fate, he's already accepted that it will happen and so closes himself off from others to save himself that heartbreak. Post-book 6 Idia will have swapped over to the Rebel side thanks to Ortho reviving the hope in him.
Vil is a Rebel simply for the fact that he fights social conventions. He's already out here shattering gender roles, but finds it much harder to breach that expectation that villains are just villains and nothing more. Vil keeps getting rejected at every turn, told that it's impossible to rewrite his story, that his frustrations are the natural result of jealousy and an ugly heart that festers in side of him. He steels himself to prove that notion wrong, working himself to the bone to get up on that stage and stay on it, waiting to be lavished with praise that he truly is the fairest one of all. I feel this would be so fascinating for Vil's own arc about self acceptance; maybe he wears himself down emotionally because he HAS to basically be perfect due to his job but also denies himself normal feelings like anger and jealousy because confessing that you have such "ugly" feelings only validates that you're shallow just like the stories say you will be.
Malleus is a tough one, but I settled for Royal in the end. Maleficent is doomed to be slain by a sword, right? So am I saying that THE Malleus Draconia, who is infamously arrogant about his magical abilities, would lie down and take a stab like that? Of course not! However, I do think that Malleus is initially someone who values tradition and living up to noblesse oblige. As the future ruler of a nation, people's stories are relying on him to play his expected role out, which he'd be fully cognizant of. I also think Malleus would be afforded the luxury of not having to face his destiny as soon as his peers are due to his long life span. This is in part because the person destined to slay him doesn't come into his life for literally hundreds of years. Then when book 7 arrives, Malleus has to deal with his loved ones leaving and/or betraying him as well as the realization that this is his destiny: dying alone and unloved. That'd just break him.
ahdbiqwdbqwli I COULD TALK ABOUT THIS AU FOR FOREVER BUT I'LL CUT IT SHORT OR ELSE I'LL NEVER SHUT UP 😭
EAH has so many good characters and interesting storylines, it's hard for me to pick a favorite! I of course love Apple and Raven's dilemmas, but I feel like it's cheating to pick one of them as my favorite. The whole Wonderland gang is also fantastic... I'm a sucker for their aesthetic, but they're so fun and silly in general. Kitty, Lizzie, and especially Madeline are 👌
Mmm, when I think long and hard about it, I think my favorite EAH character has to be Briar Beauty, daughter of Sleeping Beauty. Firstly, I love all the pink, roses, and bramble in her design. Secondly, I love the layers to why she is the way she is. Briar's a party girl not because "lmao, wouldn't that be a funny haha subversion of Sleeping Beauty" but because she wants to live life up before she falls asleep for 100 years and literally loses all her friends and family to the natural passage of time. That's seriously so smart and such an inventive way to think about the trauma a descendant of Sleeping Beauty might have. Seeing Briar transition from one of Apple's besties and biggest supporters to an outright rebel is satisfying as heck. (Gotta take a moment to shout out this classic moment :3)
I don't know if I would compare Briar to Jade since they're entirely different characters. However, looking at the source material, I'm actually surprised I like Briar as much as I do since I have never cared for the story of Sleeping Beauty. A part of me finds this ironic since Malleus harbors a similar fear as Briar (losing loved ones) yet I see Malleus's desire as way more selfish and self-serving than Briar's. I believe that's because Briar doesn't have the same arrogance as Malleus, so I'm more forgiving with her. EAH's actual equivalent to Malleus is Faybelle, daughter of the Dark Fairy, but I don't like her as much as I do Briar (hence why I'm comparing Malleus and Briar, not Malleus and Faybelle).
I haven't read the EAH books but I want to one day! I'd prefer to borrow them since I don't have enough space in my room for more physical books, so as soon as I find copies at a library or something...
This blog has kind of become a place where I occasionally talk about my other interests, generally as it relates to TWST, my main interest. I'd like to keep it like this since managing multiple blogs can be so draining. It already takes quite a bit of time to regularly write responses to asks just on one blog!

ridiculous future bullshit by sami
Future Fic 19 works 61K words
While rereading through works related to Author sami's And Time Is But A Paper Moon, reviewed here and here and here, I remembered reading the ridiculous future bullshit series. Through 19 short works of fiction, Author sami creates a reasonable facsimile of what the future looks like if six Immortals survive into the 21st century, forming the Five Nations.
Note: Author sami tells us "So this is the actual first-ish entry in the ridiculous future bullshit series, which of course means it is still the purest trash, it's bullshit and any complaints will still be met with you were warned."
Let's take a quick look at a few of the tales.
Now Showing: Hanguang-Jun And The Yiling Patriarch
Wei Wuxian rubs his nose. "Look, I'm guessing you're okay with your movie being, like… complete bullshit, right?"
"They are okay with that. They are so very fucking okay with that," Steve snaps.
"Okay." Wei Wuxian grins, and Dennis suddenly absolutely believes that he is talking to a trickster god. "You don't want to put Sandu Shengshou in this movie, trust me. And if you make this about sh- Jiang Yanli's actual marriage, then she might cry, and then Sandu Shengshou and I will have to raze this place to the fucking ground and salt the earth on which it stood, nobody wants that kind of hassle. But you can have a poor girl named Mo Fan - she has a terrible family, make it a bit like Cinderella, that was an okay movie."
Wei Wuxian has seen Cinderella.
Dennis notices that a sparkly princess crown has fallen out of Wei Wuxian's shopping bags.
"Mo Fan," he croaks. "Got it. Cinderella."
Wei Wuxian nods earnestly. "And a handsome prince named Jin Guangyao meets her and falls in love with her. He's in town to… try and help the villagers rebuild after the famine that drew the monsters there," he says. "Because he's just a really good guy. You can say it sends messages about how not all heroes are stabby fighters."
In which an animated movie Hanguang-Jun and the Yiling Patriarch is discussed with its Producer while the poor, ignored Five Nations consultant recognizes the two Immortals in the Producer's office.
Let's just say the original premise featuring "the story of Hanguang-Jun, a noble prince, who defeats the monsters terrorising the city of Yiling with the help of the grizzled old Yiling Patriarch, and in the process falls in love with a local maiden, Princess Lotus Blossom." is not appreciated.
Flick of the Wrist
Dernier is famous. He's been on television in sixteen countries. She's bound to be impressed.
He skips actually attending the afternoon session in favour of writing and then recording a long YouTube video about the Symposium. He titles it Inside the Top Secret Medical Conference You've Never Heard Of, and uploads it with a smirk. That'll show them for not actually inviting him.
In which a Famous Medical Researcher attends a Symposium held by Wen Qing. Once.
Lan Zhan's University Days (JAFFY)
Ziyuan gives him a look. "Last I checked, you weren't in charge of the computer science department, shushu, and this is what I have to do if I want to pass."
Jiang Ying scowls. "We'll see about that," he says darkly. He leaves the room briefly and comes back with a laptop of his own. It looks like it was probably sleek and expensive once, but now it's covered with glitter stickers. He sets it on the table and turns it on; when he clears away the windows he did have up, Jordan thinks she sees a browser tab open to YouTube frozen on a still frame of a Hanguang-Jun and the Yiling Patriarch fanvid.
Jiang Ying really seems to like that movie. He wears Hanguang-Jun and the Yiling Patriarch t-shirts at least once a week.
"You run Suibian?" Peter, one of the other students, sounds impressed. Jordan has heard of it - it's an open-source operating system, which is apparently important. Her sister is Very Into Computers, and talks about it a lot, apparently it's way better than other operating systems. Ava keeps trying to get Jordan to let her install it on her computer.
"I wrote Suibian," Jiang Ying says absently, typing rapidly.
"Holy shit," Peter breathes. "You're Axian?" He pronounces it Axe-ian.
"A-Xian," Jiang Ying corrects, still typing. "But you can't call me that, stick to Jiang Ying. I wrote it for my brother and sister, they needed something with actual security for their… work."
"Why does the source code say my sword is always at your service?" Peter asks eagerly. "Everyone has so many theories about that. Do you play D&D?"
"I don't. It says that because for them, it is. Hush now, do your work, I'm busy," Jiang Ying says, tossing a smile over his shoulder. Text is scrolling rapidly through several terminal windows.
In which Lan Zhan goes to veterinary school and the entire class is adopted for the semester after failing their first exam because Students Were Distracted.
Characters encountered here are met again and again in other tales. Some characters become more important than others.
And there are kittens.
The stories are not canon and are definitely not to be taken too seriously. Still … they are an exceptionally enjoyable read.
And yes, I enjoy YouTube "The Untamed" themed crack videos as well.

I’ve been wondering. What is actually keeping the akatsuki members stay in the akatsuki and not just defecting? For kisame and itachi it makes sense, but with people like sasori and kakuzu, who you can assume have been missing nin for a long time, why don’t they just up and leave? What’s making them stay on and work with the circus that the akatsuki is and listen to pein?
I think this question is one that Akatsuki fans largely actively avoid delving into, because it's very frustrating to answer. Like I'm not even 100% sure why Deidara can't just leave whenever he wants if he hates it so much. I mean, yes, in theory he could end up with a bunch of very dangerous people hunting him down.... but also the in-canon reason we seem to get is "he's bound by high school rules of combat bc Itachi was mean to him." So I think there must be parts that Deidara does enjoy, because he sticks around even after it gets both his arms blown off and the one other artist ninja dies and they give him an annoying idiot to work with.
If you want something vaguely canon, there's this video which goes into how different members were recruited. It is actually, as far as I can tell, a bunch of cut-scenes from a video game, so it is what i would call "canon only if you like it." But it's animated well and some of the characters do state reasons for why they go with Akatsuki. I'm not going to rewatch it right this second, but for example, I think Sasori says something like he wants to meet interesting people and see if he can find new art. (He finds Deidara. YOU'RE WELCOME.) Just keep in mind that because it's video game cut scenes, every encounter is set up to be the lead-up to a fight, and then there's a fade to black for the actual fight because that's the part where you're supposed to be playing the game.
For me I think there's multiple reasons, and different characters are going to weigh them different in their motivations:
It's basically a missing-nin union. It's a shit show and Kakuzu might kill you at any given moment, but there's steady work and theoretically protections from hunter-nin, and also even if your coworkers are assholes, you can call in their expertise. I think this was part of the pitch to Hidan in the video game movie: yeah he's immortal, but that doesn't mean he's immune to being imprisoned or sealed away or blown up and buried in a hole. Even immortal dudes benefit from having a partner.
Opportunities to do interesting things. I think several characters felt their talents were under-appreciated in their hometowns, but Akatsuki encourages people to be the best horrible monsters they can be. Oh, you want to blow up a castle? We have three jobs for that, AND you'll get a paycheck out of it. Also: even missing-nin need a sense of fulfillment. Like Kakuzu has gotten along fine by himself for decades, but I bet he secretly finds managing Akatsuki's finances to be satisfying.
Meet interesting people! You're immortal? So are THREE OTHER PEOPLE HERE-- Oh, you're into art? Guess who we just recruited--
All of these characters grew up in ninja villages, so I think they at least subconsciously perceive this sort of vaguely structured mission-system as how work is supposed to be done. And I think this cultural aspect of it means that they're predisposed to at least kinda sorta agree to some baseline rules, because that's just what you do. So, in my personal take on Deidara, I think he hated the structure and rigid rules of Iwa, but he's not against getting paid to blow shit up, and Akatsuki is a lot more loose with mission parameters so his art isn't completely stifled. He likes having cash to buy art supplies and hot meals, yeah. On the flip side I think Sasori liked having a lot of rules and structure; he just didn't like when the rules restricted his art, or when social rules meant he was "going against human decency even for a ninja" smh. So I think he'd actually be pretty willing to compromise certain things for the sake of buying into the ninja union, as long as he could still be churning out art.
One thing I think would be interesting to explore is what the consequences of Orochimaru defecting are. Because it seems like there never were any consequences for him, but no one looked at his example and went, "Oh, so I can just leave at any time." Maybe instead it had a unifying force, like EVERYONE is pissed they can't hunt him down and skin him alive. Deidara is like "oh, he just.... lost a fight to Itachi and left....?" and Sasori is like, "Yes, and now if any one of us multiple S-rank threats find him, it's on sight." And Deidara is like: "Well, only a COWARD would flee like that anyway, yeah."

Green Lantern-Related Titles Round-Up (July 1994)
This month: Guy learns about "warrior water"! Ollie learns about Hal! John learns absolutely nothing!
Guy Gardner: Warrior #22
After the ass-whooping he got from Hal Jordan last issue, Guy somehow finds himself in a weird land where he and a woman named Heather are being chased by an even weirder bodybuilding monster. We'll later learn that the monster's name is "Dementor," and I'm surprised he hasn't been brought back for one of those Metal crossovers, because look at him. He's pretty metal.
Just after Heather (who Guy seems to know, but we don't know how yet) is swallowed by Dementor, Guy wakes up in the hospital. Turns out Hal's beating left him in a coma for three weeks. A nice doctor gives Guy the latest Daily Planet to catch him up on what's been going on since then, which includes "the world ending" (see the Justice League section below). Guy, however, seems more interested in a story about about "famed scientist-adventurer and Texas oil billionaire Buck Wargo" looking for some sort of "warrior water" in a South American jungle. This is interesting and all, but I'm not sure why it qualifies as front page news when the world is ending.
(Does Ron Troupe hold that much sway at the Planet?)
Since Hal destroyed his yellow ring and he's feeling rather useless, Guy decides to go searching for that water too, on the off chance it'll give him powers. Guy travels to South America and finds Cargo and his crew in the middle of a bar brawl, which seems to be their permanent state. Besides Buck himself, the crew includes two PhDs, a guy who's "a walkin' John Woo movie," and a guy who turns into a tiger (Desmond "Tiger-Man" Farr, who I just learned had previously appeared in a 1965 issue of Tales of the Unexpected).
Buck, a fan of Guy from his Green Lantern and college football days, lets him join the expedition -- but before they can leave the bar, they're attacked by a Nazi riding a T. Rex and some swastika-sporting velociraptors. Once the Nazi dinos are neutralized, the gang attempts to interrogate the Nazi human, but he reveals he's wearing a dynamite vest and blows up the whole bar. CONTINUED!
Darkstars #22
As seen last issue, a Controller came to visit the suddenly powerless John Stewart at the Mosaic planet and promised to tell him what happened to his Green Lantern powers if John came with him. As they fly across the universe, the Controller is like "psyche, I ain't saying shit about Green Lantern stuff, here's some Darkstars drama instead." The Controller tells John that one of the Darkstars' superiors, Huvah Jeddigar, owns a baby universe and is trying to use it to replace all of reality with one more "to his liking" (lots of that going around in the DC Universe lately).
Meanwhile, in order to cover up his schemes, Jeddigar frames Earth's Darkstar, Ferrin Colos, for crimes he didn't commit, but he already has a replacement ready: ex-Teen Titan Donna Troy, who has agreed to have lasers surgically attached to her hands and join the Darkstars because she's just that desperate to have powers again (lots of that going around too).
Green Arrow #88
This is the issue where Oliver Queen learns what his good buddy Hal has been up to lately. Ollie is passing through New York and decides to "look up some of his old friends from the Justice League," only to be ignored by Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman as they fight supervillains, have his car stolen, and get knocked out by common muggers in an alley. Ollie wakes up in the hospital and hears a ruckus: it's Guy, who just came out of his coma and wants to check out early.
Guy informs Ollie about Hal's murderous heel turn and correctly points out that "bow 'n' arrows just don't hack it" when it comes to stopping an insane person with the power of 3600 Green Lanterns. The interesting part is that Ollie recalls meeting Hal right after Coast City's destruction in Green Lantern #47, an issue that clearly wasn't written with the Parallax plot twist in mind, but his description of it here almost makes it seem like it was.
Anyway, the point of the issue seems to be that Ollie is kinda useless because he has no powers. I haven't read the following issues, but I'm gonna assume they involve him drinking warrior water and/or getting lasers surgically attached to his hands.
Justice League Task Force #14
No GL-related characters in this issue, but it does include an important event in the life of Guy Gardner: the death of his beloved Tora "Ice" Olafsdotter. An alien called the Overmaster, who goes around the universe judging planets and destroying them if he deems them unworthy, is about to do that to the Earth. The Overmaster has taken control of Tora and forced her to betray her friends, but after a pep talk from Martian Manhunter, she becomes herself again. She leads the charge against the Overmaster... only for him to kill her with a single blast. (Well, two blasts, since he's using both hands.)
The League would defeat the Overmaster the next week in Justice League International #66, and his effects on the world would be undone, except for Tora's death. The saddest part isn't in either of these issues but in the GG:W one I covered up there: Guy mentions several times that he needs new powers to go help Ice as fast as possible, but she was most likely already dead by then. He'll have to go to porno theaters all by his lonesome for now on...

Wiggly Wednesday!!! 🪱💕
This is so weird, I was off camping over Monday and Tuesday so this feels like a Monday to me now that I'm back at work, but it is... not. It's Wednesday. Weird.
Anyway, thanks for the tag on this @runninriot and @hotluncheddie! You want a wiggly idea? Okay, here's a wiggly idea.
My go-to "I need to cry about something" movie is Interstellar, and I watched it recently so it's on my mind.
Steve as Matthew McConaughey, Dustin as the kid who grows up to Have The Idea, Eddie as Anne Hathaway, and Wayne as Professor Michael Caine. Robin, Hopper, and Jeff are those boxy-looking robots, ROBS HOPP and JEFF. The people already sent out to collect info from different places across the big scary frontier include: Dr. Brenner (original leader of the program, taking the place of Matt Damon), Dr. Owens (the guy from the last place they go to), and Joyce (I'm sorry, but she's the one who got smashed on impact by the big wave in the movie). There's still a worldwide blight, caused by the spores from the Upside Down.
Steve crash lands in Hawkins. Idk what he crashes, a plane or something. Unlike the movie, this story isn't about going into space, it's about going into the Upside Down. Nancy is barely a footnote, but their relationship falls apart once everyone realizes that Barb didn't disappear, she was killed in Steve's crash. Steve ends up renting a room at the Henderson's, which Claudia is a huge fan of because her husband has passed away and this way Dusty gets a big brother. Steve also gets some sort of certificate and becomes a guidance counselor at the school… basically a professional babysitter. He gets dragged back into whatever his original job was when Dustin and his friends follow their wonky compasses to a super secret government base, where Steve meets Eddie and his old boss Wayne and the kids meet El. She's still in training to close all the gates; plan A is for Steve and Eddie's team to go into the Upside Down to find the source of the hive mind and disable it, and plan B is to wait until she's strong enough to just shut the whole dimension out of ours again.
This is about as far as I have it strongly plotted out, but basically time is wonky over there, speeding up and slowing down in different areas. The spores on Earth grow into demodogs and demogorgons if not burned off in time, but in the UD there's a greater variety of monsters and problems—like the bats. They get to Brenner's site and don't pick up on the fact that he's been flayed right away, because they've never seen it before; they have to kill him, but not before gleaning the info that the hive mind is likely at Dr. Owens' site.
It is, of course, a trap. Like in ST, Henry Creel is at the heart of it and El piggybacks in to fight him directly. Henry dies, for sure. And it turns out that the hive mind wasn't the problem, it becomes relatively inert once he's out of the equation and the monsters and spores start returning back through the gates to their home.
Steve and Eddie (now in love) get back to Earth in the nick of time before El finally closes all the gates, trapped in amber just enough that they're now the same age as Dustin and the rest of the kids. Maybe ROBS gets a new robot chassis that looks more like Maya Hawke and she and Steve remain besties 5ever. And they all live happily ever after, the end.
Coming soon to a word doc in my general vicinity, eventually. Probably. We shall see.
#wiggly wednesday#scoops words#steddie#this is a brain dump for something i've kinda been noodling around with#but it feels like it'd be a big project to really make it what i want#not the sort of thing i could post as i go#interstellar AU

Explaining the names in Shantae: A New Genie
For those who have read my Shantae fic, you may be wondering where I got the names for certain characters from. I gave these characters names because they usually only had titles beforehand or no names at all, so I wanted something easy to go off.
Mia (NPC) - I don't really remember why I named her this. She just kinda looked like a Mia and I thought it was a cute name for a kid.
The Mayor (Scuttlebutt) - This is a bit of an inverse compared to the others. I made it so Scuttlebutt isn’t actually his name. Shantae simply thought it was, but it’s actually a nickname the mayor hates being called. And to be honest, Scuttlebutt is too ridiculous for a name, even by Shantae standards.
Jack / Johan / The Pirate Master - I'm not entirely sure where I got Jack from. It just kind of fit, and somebody thought I named him after Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean films. If I did, it must have been subconsciously. I used "Johan" as a fake name for Jack based on Johan Liebert from Naoki Urasawa's manga Monster.
Aaron (Harmony's father) - Not really sure where I got this from. He just seemed like an Aaron.
Emma (Chef Girl) - Based on Emma Stone. I had the Amazing Spider-Man movies on my mind at the time and I was thinking of Gwen Stacy from those films. Since both Gwen and Chef Girl are blondes, I thought it'd be fitting to name the Chef Girl after Gwen's actor.
Serena (Harmony's mother) - I based this name off the word "serenity." Since "serenity" and "harmony" have similar meanings, I figured it would just fit.
Ana (Shantae's mother) - I don't remember where I found it, but I wanted a name that would sound like a Genie's name and I found Ana the most fitting. Generally, I tried to give all the Genies names that would, you know, fit a Genie. It's pronounced "Ahn-uh" for those who were unsure.
Karnov (Shantae’s father) - I basically just wanted to confirm that fan theory from Pirate’s Curse. The one where the Warrior that Shantae meets in the Village of Lost Souls is actually her father, and that this mysterious warrior is actually the video game character Karnov.
Rosa (Human Rottytops) - I basically just thought of this from fanfics I read in the past with human Rotty. Most of the time, people just call her human form Rosa or Rosie. I found Rosa the better of the two in the end.
Iris (Empress Siren) - I thought it was a pretty name and it fit the purple colors you see on Empress Siren’s design in Seven Sirens.
Agnes (Angler Fish Siren) - I wanted to give her an old sounding name since she looks kinda old. I’m not sure where I got Agnes from, maybe The Simpsons.
Molly (Coral Siren) - A friend at the time showed me a drawing of a character they made named Molly. I liked the name and when I saw Coral Siren, it made me think Molly would be a fitting name for her.
Nora (Lobster Siren) - Based on the Norway lobster, and I think Nora is a cute name.
Aja (Vera's mother) - Given the plant-theming that Vera has, I wanted something fitting for her mother as well. In Greek mythology, it means "forest goddess." Her name is pronounced like “Asia.”
Cherami (Harmony’s grandmother) - I had imagined her as a redhead like her granddaughter Harmony, so I wanted a name reminiscent of the color red. I think the name Cherami came to mind from the voice actor for Rotty, Cherami Leigh. The name sounded “reddish” if that makes sense, like a cherry.
Ignatius (Techno Baron) - I don’t remember how I came up with Ignatius exactly, but I wanted a serious name for him since I wanted to make him more ominous than he was in canon.
Esmeralda - I didn’t really plan to do much with this character, but I still wanted to give her a name that fit her status as a Genie. Since I imagined her with green hair, Esmeralda became the name I ultimately chose.

So we finally went to see the next chapter of the MonsterVerse GodzillaxKong: The New Empire. I was super excited to go see this because as a Godzilla fan I have been enjoying this series. Also yes there was plenty of collectable goodies for this movie which of course you can see here.
So as for the movie itself I would say I pretty much loved it I thought it was great myself. I loved all the monster action and all the smashing and crashing. You can tell how these movies evolved from the 2014 Godzilla to now being in the 2014 movie it was very I'd say human centric and as they went on the monsters pretty much took center stage. I feel that the human involvement in this movie was very minimal and were there when they needed to be. and that Warner Bros was all "they want monsters we'll give them monsters!" because I feel this was like 85% monster action!
Now with the story I do feel much like the previous Godzilla vs Kong that the story is focused more on Kong then Godzilla. Kong is the main character in this movie and does get the most screen time. but as for the story itself if kinda is telling two at the same time a Kong Story and a Godzilla story and going back and forth until the 2 meet up again. I don't know the timeline of this I don't remember if they mention anything but I think it does take place shortly after the previous movie maybe a year or 2?
Your basic story is this Kong is living in the Hollow Earth while Godzilla is above. Kong is still lonely believing he is the last of his kind until he finds a hidden underground area with many like himself but it is ruled by a ruthlessly despotic ape known only as "The Skar King" Kong of course comes into conflict with him and gets the upper hand for the moment until the Skar King unleashes his ultimate weapon a kiju named Shimo who has a devastating ice attack causing Kong to retreat and seek help from the only one who can match Shimo's power the King of the Monsters Godzilla! after a short scuffle Godzilla agrees to Help Kong and the Monster action goes into full swing!
Now I like I said I love this movie I thought it was every exciting and very fun and delved more into the mythology of the characters of Godzilla and Kong I loved how they introduced some more new monsters like The Skar King and the little minikong Suko who was a real bastard when you meet him but of course became a friend of Kong's as Kong earned his trust. I also love the return of Mothra as well. The animation and character work for this movie was impressive too especially with Kong and the other ape characters as well as Godzilla who seemed to have a greater sense of motion in this movie as you can see him both running and jumping.
Also like I said the monster action is amazing Ken Watanabe's character Dr. Ishiro Serizawa said it best in the first movie of this series back in 2014 "Let them Fight" and this movie takes that to heart and lets them fight! the fight in Egypt is alot of fun but its pretty much not until they get to Rio and then everything goes crazy! but it is so much fun to watch and I would say it is very satisfying all the smashing and crashing and buildings going flying as the monsters tear everything apart.
but in the end this is just an amazingly fun movie. There is plenty of action and its exciting and goes deeper into the lore and I feel it is having lots of fun expanding on this world and this universe. One thing with these movies is I would like to see more classic characters appear like Anguirus and maybe Gigan but I also like how they are creating newer monster for these movies too. I'm just enjoying everything in these movies and loving it all! but yeah if you are enjoying the MonsterVerse as much as I am then I would highly recommend this one.

I just stumbled upon your blog it’s such a relief to finally see some adult tmnt fans. I am curious. You mentioned Leo is your favorite turtle do you have a least favorite? It’s in general because I am not sure how much of 03 you watched so I am going for In general
You found the right motherfucker. I am friends with LOTS of adult fans. If you want to meet others, I can introduce you.
2003 is actually the one series I know the least about! I know a LOT about TMNT... I've read through most of the comics, I've seen most of the TV series, and I've seen most of the movies. Unfortunately, 2003 appeared in this super awkward point in my life where I had decided I was An Adult Now Thank You Very Much! Also, I had little time for TV, never had cable before and didn't know where TMNT even aired, and just didn't tend to watch television in general.
When it comes to 2003, I've been able to get through most of Season 1... but it's just so clearly for kids, and the animation style is so ugly, that I routinely fall out of it like no one's business. I need to watch it with friends so they can keep me in it. It's really a shame, too; I just know in my heart of hearts that 2003 would have been truly special to me had I experienced it as a child. In a lot of ways, it was the cartoon I wanted as a bab. Unfortunately, I got 1987 :( Archie TMNT was the closest I could get to the maturity and drama I craved. There's a mass shootout in that thing. The Mutanimals all fucking die. I was delighted.
Well. I say that. I got my hands on the original Mirage Volume 1 at age 8 by complete mistake, and THAT is what I wanted most of all. DEATH. DESTRUCTION. BOOBIES. WAVES OF BLOOD. GUN VIOLENCE. DRAMA. POSSIBLE DEATH? Everyone is a washing machine now. GIANT DINOSAUR MONSTERS. FORBIDDEN FRUIT.
As to my least favorite turtle... at first I thought I would say, "Ah, I like 'em all, who gives a fuck." But that's a lie. Raph is my least favorite. I disliked his personality. I cringed at how edgelord he could be. I just wanted him to do the right thing. See, when I was a kid, I glommed onto the Turt that reflected what I wanted to be: responsible and proper and orderly and focused. Raphael was the antithesis of all that, and I was obsessed with Bringing Order, so he drove me crazy by proxy. Basically, I was Lawful Good. I am now Chaotic Good, but that ancient distrust remains!
Moreover... I had a personal problem with Raphael. See, Raphael is basically the centerpiece Turtle. If a comic book had to center on a single Turtle, it always chose Raphael. Volume 1 is FULL of one-offs where Raphael is the only turtle present. The films also tend to focus on Raphael--to the point that he took Leo's arc in the 1990 movie. Hell, he was straight-up the protagonist in 1990, 2007, and 2016. He was also constantly front and center in Archie TMNT--probably the closest the series had to a protagonist. There was a point I just started fucking RESENTING the character. I started thinking that everyone just had it out for my favorite Turtle instead of recognizing Leonardo's problems as a character and how difficult it was to give him arcs, especially in kids' media.
In other news, I thought I turned off anon and I'm just cackling. How did I fuck this up so spectacularly

2012! April and Rise! April headcannons
So here's the thing, April is my favorite character in Rise and the 2012 series and I am DYING for some crossover content of them interacting but I havnt seen a lot of it out there so I'm making it myself.
I don't realy know how I want them to meant but let's just go with the scenario where rise! Leo is messing with his portals and somehow the 2012 gang ends up in the rise universe and thets when the aprils meet.
- 12!april had autism and rise!April had ADHD and they both make the autism and ADHD solidarity meme.
-12!april can't cook to save her live but rise!April is a great cook thanks to some prior job experience. Rise!April is 12!april's favorite cook (don't tell Mikey)
-Rise!April loves 12!april but she hates her outfit (she is right about that) 12!april loves rise!April's outfit but thinks the leggings and skirt are impracticable (she is right about that) so the both go shopping at thrift stores to look for stuff.
-rise!April was very freaked out when she discovered that her counter part was half KRANG (because let's be real. The Krang did just traumatize her and her friends)
-12! April on the other hand was a little surprised that rise! April had been possessed by Karai in the past but she and the boys have seen so much wierd stuff that she got over it real quick (she was more surprised that Karai was the boys grandma instead of their sister)
-12!april grew up with the original bratz dolls but she is more of a monster high fan and was hyped to hear that there are multiple reboots of the franchise and
rise!April is a bratz fan who grew up with monster high and she asks 12!april all about what the bratz franchise was like back in the day.
-Rise!April is a total theater kid thanks to donnie and Leo and 12!april is a movie nerd Thanks to Leo and Mikey. Where rise! april can sing almost every song from rent and knows the whole script and all the choreography and is ready to dance and sing whenever 12!knows where the movie was shot, how long it took, what the buget was, how much is made, what happened on set who played in it etc.
-12!april is a little jealous that rise!April has know the boys for so long while she met them when she was 16. She would have loved to have the boys in her life sooner.
-when rise!April learned about 12!aprils powers she asked her to help her mess with the purple dragons 12!april was totally ready to mess up some street thugs so she was hesitant about messing with some random highschoolers. That was until she met them and after that encounter she made all their tech levitate to spook them.
-12!april wasn't allowed to have any social media because her dad was scared that the Krang might find them but rise!April has introduced her to tiktok and pinterest and let me tell you the gilr is hooked.
I can't really think of more headcannons right now but these are fun to make so I'll think of some soon. If anybody has any crossover content of the aprils interacting please don't be afraid to @me cause I'd love to see it. Fics, fan art, headcannons, anything honestly.

Ooo PercyxMarcus for that who's the x who's the y ship meme
Ooh, yay! I'm assuming you mean all of the AUs, so here we go! 🥰
who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter
Percy is the werewolf, and Marcus is the hunter who was raised to hate them. He believes werewolves are monsters until he meets Percy and then his whole world gets turned upside down. He realizes that his family was wrong, and now he has to stand up to them to save Percy's life and do what's right. Though it would be even better if it was werewolf Percy and vampire Marcus. 😭
who’s the mermaid and who’s the fisherman
Percy is the mermaid, and Marcus is the fisherman. I want hurt Percy who got caught in a net and a flustered Marcus nursing him back to health. Marcus seems all gruff and grumpy and intimidating, but pretty Percy finds it adorable and can tell that Marcus is actually very sweet underneath his grouchy exterior.
who’s the witch and who’s the familiar
Ooh, interesting. I could see this both ways, but I'm going with Percy is the witch, and Marcus is his familiar in the form of a giant, intimidating dog, which freaks everyone else out, but Percy loves it! (Think "scary boyfriend privileges.") I could totally picture Marcus barking at the twins and Oliver every time they try to talk to Percy (though for very different reasons).
who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict
Ooh, I could see barista Percy, but you know that Percy would be addicted to coffee, so it's got to be barista Marcus. I want an overworked, frazzled Percy who is barely functioning, and then there's Marcus - this gorgeous barista who always has Percy's drink waiting for him with some type of biscuit or sandwich because he's realized that Percy forgets to eat otherwise. In Percy's mind, Marcus is an angel, but Marcus just thinks the gorgeous redhead in a suit is smart and sophisticated and way out of his league. Cue meddling friends. 🤣
who’s the professor and who’s the TA
I'm not a huge fan of this type of AU (like at all), but Percy is the professor, and Marcus is the TA.
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)
Percy has to be the knight (he's literally named after Sir Percival), and Marcus is the prince (even if his family isn't rich, they probably have more money/power than the Weasleys).
Oooh, but to flip this around, imagine Marcus being the Troll Prince (maybe in this AU, trolls aren't as tall, violent, or stupid, but instead, they're more like Vikings; or Marcus' family could be royalty because they're only part Troll so they can interact best with the other kingdoms).
Percy is sent to fight Marcus by the human king (Dumbledore) who spreads the message that these hedonistic savages need to be taken out. Percy originally agrees, but once he meets Marcus, he realizes that there's more to the story than he thought.
who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent
This is tough too, because I love single parent Percy, but I can't picture Marcus as a teacher, so single parent Marcus it is. He got someone pregnant from a one night stand, but they decided not to keep the baby, so Marcus is raising him/her on his own. I imagine this child adoring Percy as their teacher and wanting to invite him over for dinner, ice cream, movies, etc. Marcus may or may not be encouraging this.
who’s the writer and who’s the editor
I love writer Percy, but I have to go with writer Marcus, whose ideas are great but his grammar is atrocious, so most people won't give him a chance. Editor Percy does though, sticking his neck on the line with his company, but with his help, Marcus ends up becoming highly successful.
These inspired me, so I have a few new ideas for stories! Thanks for the ask! 😊

Did I misread your tags or did you recently see The Apprentice? If so, do you mind sharing your thoughts both on the film and on Jeremy Strong’s performance (or just the performances generally)? I’ve heard mixed things on the film but as a succession fan I’m always rooting for Jeremy haha
Ah! You didn't misread, I saw it last night!
And yeah, mmm. I'm still making my mind up on the film overall? I'm really glad I saw it and I think Ali Abbasi is a very technically skilled director and one who had a clear vision for the film. He plays around a lot with different styles, so there are points where it looks and feels very slick, but also times where it feels like you're really watching home movies or a reality show or a news feature from the late 70s/early 80s which does a lot of impressive work in terms of both embedding you in the era and foreshadowing other parts of Trump's life. It's a really cool technique, and works really well in letting this slice of Trump's life (because it really is a slice that literally begins with him meeting Roy Cohn and ends with Cohn's death) still feel like a part of a whole without getting bogged down in the familiar pitfalls of a biopic.
Jeremy's really incredible in it, and I mean, some of the reviews have already said this, but his ability to find the humanity in morally bankrupt, soulless men and embed that in his performances continues to be pretty unmatched. Roy Cohn is depicted as unequivocally evil in the film, but his downfall and death is shockingly affecting, and a lot of that comes down to Jeremy's performance. I actually think one of the most interesting themes the film explored too was Cohn's sexuality and his relative openness with being gay, yet his absolute willingness to weaponise other people's sexuality and actively harm the gay community. I don't think we actually get that many depictions in film of the 'fuck you, I got mine' minority leader, and the film does a really good job of depicting that with Jeremy's Cohn.
The depiction of Trump though is probably what I have an overall issue with (and, of course, the timing of the film's release). It does show him to ultimately be a pathetic husk of a man with a nose for opportunity who only really succeeds due to his father's money and Cohn's guidance, but I don't know. That might be the man Trump is, but it doesn't really make for a compelling film? I think a part of my issue is probably with Sebastian Stan's performance. I generally like him as an actor, and I think he does a really good job of capturing Trump's mannerisms and evolving into his way of speaking, but I kind of got the feeling that he didn't understand Trump, which left the performance feeling kind of shallow? It was especially stark against Jeremy's performance because like I said, he was able to depict Cohn as the monster he was while still finding a thread of humanity to hold to which made me still loathe him, but also left me feeling like I understood him.
I think the film's approach to Trump was that there's really nothing to him, which begs the question of why make a movie about him at all? The timing of course implies something, however you want to read it, but I don't know. I don't think Maria Bakalova had much to work with in playing Ivana either (although I think she did the best she could with what she got), but yeah, I think perhaps a stronger actor could've done more in the role of Trump, but I also think the movie wanted him to come across as pretty empty, so - - yes. I'm still making my mind up, haha.
#i kinda want to see it again actually#i think it's really stylistically clever#and very well edited#so i kinda want to watch it focusing on that haha#but yeah jeremy's pretty incredible in it#he got really thin for the role though which surprised me#like he's always been a pretty small guy but especially towards the end when cohn's dying of aids he was super tiny#but yes i generally go to the movies every tuesday night because tix at my local indie are AUD$8#so like USD$5 or £4#suuuper cheap and i love it#film asks#succession cast

🦇 Imogen, Obviously by @beckyalbertalli Book Review 🦇
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
❓ #QOTD What movie majorly impacted your life? ❓ 🦇 Imogen Scott has endless experience as a straight queer ally. Her friends are pan and bi, her sister is out, and she never misses a Pride Alliance meeting. While visiting her best friend Lili at college, who has her own little queer community, Imogen takes "supportive" a step further. She pretends to be Lili's ex-girlfriend and bi. The longer she wears the label, the more she wonders if it fits...especially when she's in the company of Lili's new friend, Tessa. Can Imogen keep her story straight, or is she finally starting to see who's staring at her in the mirror?
💜 This recent streak of bi/sapphic YA books (One Last Stop, Perfect on Paper, and now this) has left me slain. It's all too much. I am FEELING too much. Be still, thy bi heart.
💜 In all seriousness, this is the exact story little baby bi me needed back in high school, and I'm so glad it's on shelves for adolescent readers now. There's SO MUCH to discuss, the themes of self-identity, friendship, and coming-of-age so perfectly layered to make Imogen so obviously (I had to) exactly who she is. Imogen's "bunny" brain is a realistic mental chaos of self-doubt and queer questioning. Everyone assumes straight is the default, when really, it should be bi until proven otherwise. Most people aren't given the chance to question their sexuality, to explore who they are, instead establishing themselves in a pre-determined box. I've been there, and Imogen's constant questioning and confusion make her emotions all the more real. She questions if queerness looks a certain way, or if we're supposed to have our queer awakenings by a certain time, or if we're supposed to be CERTAIN, but how could we with the constant DISCOURSE over everything? Imogen's voice leaps off the page, making her easy to like; a character you want to follow to the end. Lili is EVERYTHING as a best friend (and queer mentor), while Gretchen so perfectly straddles the line between well-meaning and toxic. We've all had that friend we realized (almost too little, too late) wasn't looking out for our best interests, the one in the back of your head spinning every worst fear until it became a play-it-on repeat thought. Though she could have felt too extreme, we see why Imogen hears Gretchen out, why Imogen gives her a second chance, allowing her to become the cranked-up monster of self-doubt in Imogen's head. Also, The Owl House, One Last Stop, and Sailor Moon mentions were everything.
💙 This had an awkward start for me, namely because of all the names and identities we're given in the first few chapters. It felt like Imogen's younger, queer sister was less of a character and more of a plot piece (both to prove that Imogen was surrounded by self-aware queers and to show what queerness looked like in Imogen's eyes). She doesn't have some cute scenes with Imogen until the end, and by that point, I wanted more.
🦇 Recommended for fans of Perfect on Paper and One Last Stop.

supernatural s14e4 mint condition (w. davy perez)
apparently we need a complete rundown of how ghosts work in this show in the recap, in case we've forgotten!
think my best chance at an episode that doesn't drive me up a wall is a monster of the week. let's go, davy
DEAN Oh, wow. SAM What? [DEAN touches his own cheek.] SAM Oh. Yes, I shaved. DEAN I mean, it’s so smooth. It’s like a dolphin’s belly. SAM Yeah, yeah.
ah yes, 5 o'clock shadow stubble, so smooth :p *scritch scritch*
SAM Hey uh, I wanted to check up on you. You doing okay? I mean you haven’t really come out of your room in almost a week. DEAN Well, since when is okay part of this job, huh? Yeah, Cas is you know, showing Jack the ropes and Dark Kaia and her spear are in the wind and we have no clue where Michael is or what he’s up to. And not that I’m complaining, but the house is full of strangers, so.
i would 1000% be complaining. i need my space and routines and ... not other people :p see: heebie jeebies
DEAN Thundercats? Seriously? SAM Yeah. But I mean, you’ve got your pizza, at least eight more of these movies so I’ll just leave you to it and I’ll get one of the other guys… DEAN (getting up off the bed) Oh, hell no, hell no. No, Panthro, that’s mine.
very cute, i will take it, please and thank you. sam finding a case that would actually help dean work out some of the post-michael funk, as opposed to whatever that previous mess of an episode was :p sam knows how to take care of dean too
DEAN Still not a fan of Halloween, huh?
dean's smiling already (at sam's expense, but hey he's basically offering)
DEAN Soft, delicate features, luxurious hair. She’s like your wonder twin.
listen, if anyone has soft delicate features; it's you, dean-o
so one notable thing for me personally is like. they're doing the thing were dean is super excited about something (like wrestling, cowboys, etc) but i'm not feeling the secondhand embarrassment? like it's not so over the top childish? it's just more standard fannish excitement? which is surprising and nice. we'll see if it holds :p (the pocket protector and dean's glasses below though push it pretty hard into costume)
SAM MIRL – Meet in real life. DEAN Why do you know what that means?
they're just dropping all sorts of little silly slice of life tidbits here. though i admit to having a hard time seeing our sam chatting people up online
DEAN So seriously, what is your deal with Halloween? SAM I don’t like it. DEAN Yeah, but why don’t you like it, hm? And don’t give me that like, ‘well every day is Halloween for us’ crap, okay? Because one: it ain’t, we don’t eat that much candy, two: you’ve had this hate on for years. So?
dean asking the good questions
smooth
geeking out over their favorite horror movies together, this is nice. little bonding over using it for escapism
DIRK and DEAN “… mechanic David Yaeger comes back every year on the day after Halloween. On All Saints Day Hatchet Man takes his revenge.” DIRK You really know your ASD. DEAN Ah well, growing up it was a… it was always nice to check out once in a while. I like to watch movies where I know the bad guy is going to lose.
predictable endings and the effect is multiplied when you've already seen it. no surprises, does something for the brain
little 80s horror / stranger things vibe with the music (man that title sequence for stranger things is so good). christopher lennertz and tim wynn on the music this episode
it's cute how they're intercutting their fake horror movie, security guards watching said movie and the stuff happening in the hospital mirroring the events. worked well
SAMANTHA Where did you learn how to do this? SAM I had a messed up childhood.
heard.
okay so i had to give them credit for how they were doing the cuts with the fake movie, and then they had to do too much showing the fake trailer for the fake movie for no reason :p if they wanted to show the slasher guy's backstory, they shoulda worked it in the other handful of times they showed us clips from the fake movie
DEAN Thanks man. You uh, you got me out here because you needed to get me out of my funk and give me a win and you did. So, thanks. SAM I’ve got to admit it didn’t go exactly like I thought it would. DEAN Hey man, I just went toe-to-toe with David freaking Yaeger. That was awesome! SAM Yeah, it wasn’t really… DEAN Don’t ruin this for me. SAM Hey Dean, when we get back to the bunker, man you’ve got to stop hiding out in your room. DEAN I’m not hiding out. SAM And I get why you’re doing it, I do but what happened with Michael… You said yes for me, for Jack, for your family. You did the right thing. What happened after, just because Michael was wearing your face doesn’t mean any of this is on you. I don’t blame you, no one blames you. You’ve got to try and stop blaming yourself. Please. DEAN I’m never going to get over it, okay? I’m just not. But you’re right; I’m not doing anybody any good by just staying cooped up in my room so, whatever you need. I’m there. Alright Chief.
think you probably will, dean. but anyway, good job, sammy!
DEAN Okay seriously, why? Why do you hate Halloween? What is it, was it the time I, I ate all your Halloween candy?
SAM No. DEAN Was it something that Dad did? SAM No dude, you don’t want to know. DEAN No I really do, really. What? SAM Alright, you remember Andrea Howell? DEAN …no? SAM When I was in sixth grade we were living in Bismarck and I had a huge crush on her. DEAN Aw, that’s adorable. Continue. SAM So, she invited me to her Halloween party. I said yes and I went over and at first everything was great, um, and then we started to play games. DEAN Spin the bottle. SAM Bobbing for apples. Like I said, I had a crush so the entire night my stomach was in knots and when it was my turn I bent down and… DEAN No. SAM …hurled, everywhere. Lunch, dinner it all came up, on Andrea mostly. People ran and screamed and it was so bad. DEAN Ah that’s great. SAM I ended up hiding out in the woods till you finally came and got me. DEAN So that’s why you hate Halloween.
aw, baby sam. there's something refreshing though of him having just regular kid traumatic experiences. finally it's not because of gross child neglect or being raised as a child soldier :p
DEAN Oh come on man you’ve got to deal with that, that’s I mean… Alright this is what we’re going to do, next year we’re doing Halloween right okay? I’m thinking matching outfits like uh, Batman and Robin. SAM No. DEAN Bert and Ernie. SAM No. DEAN That’s weird. SAM Yes. DEAN Uh, Rocky and Bullwinkle. SAM Dean… DEAN Shaggy and Scooby! SAM Why would we? DEAN Turner and Hooch. Ren and Stimpy. SAM Come on now. DEAN Thelma and Louise. SAM Thelma and…? DEAN We just put it in drive and go.

You don't have to answer if you don't want to but if you do, you can't cheat! You can only choose one or the other NOT both! Okay? GO!
P.S. I love your writing, Key! Thank you for all your lovely fics ❤️❤️❤️
Awwww, first of all: thank you so much. :') This is a really sweet thing to wake up to. :'''')
Also incredibly evil.
-- Reading Fanfic or Writing Fanfic --
Honestly—and this surprises me—writing! I tried to imagine not being able to do one ever again and I'd be more upset if I could never write fic again.
-- Boun or Krist --
:/
Before this year, I would've said Boun, but right now, it's Krist.
I've always thought of BounPrem and KristSingto as the "main pairs" I follow, and even though Krist and Singto aren't officially a branded pair anymore, I still follow them separately. So I'm kind of a, uh, BounPrem, Krist, Singto fan now asdfghkj
When Between Us ended and BounPrem said they wouldn't have another series together for a while, I moved my focus to Krist because he had Be My Favorite coming up, and I'd been excited for BMF since 2021. And now, since I've followed Krist so closely this year, since I've gone back and familiarized myself more with his past work, and since I was fortunate enough to meet him in person last month and see for myself how kind and sincere and good he is, I'm very invested in seeing him happy and succeed the way he deserves. (Like, it's very clear why he's so beloved when you look into who he actually is, so it's been surreal to see how desperately interfans want to hate him. I was in his restaurant with other fans when GMMTV finally released a statement in his defense, and it was such a relief, I teared up. Some interfans are trying the "he used to be a bad person but he's better now" take at the moment, so I'm just waiting for them to take the next step and admit that he was never a monster in the first place and that hundreds of interfans have gleefully tortured him and trashed his reputation for years based on misinformation.)
Like I keep saying: the loudest anti-Krist voices are interfans. If he actually was what they claim, wouldn't his most ardent antis be from his own country? I've spoken to Thai fans of different actors: this is an interfan bandwagon that got blown out of proportion.
Now, of course, Krist and Boun have always been pretty closely tied in my heart, so if you talk to me once the BounPrem vampire series airs, I'll be focused on BounPrem again. I'm not one of those "you have to follow everything someone does or else you're a fake fan" people, so I only watch what I like. BounPrem have been doing a lot of fanmeetings and separate work this year that I wasn't interested in following, so I've just been patiently waiting for the vampire series to air. Even though I don't even like vampires. I just love BounPrem that much. :')
-- Romance or Sci-Fi/Fantasy --
Sci-Fi/Fantasy! I'm writing a fantasy novel right now, and most of my favorite stories are in the sci-fi/fantasy/speculative genres. :D
-- Until We Meet Again or Between Us the Series --
UWMA!
It was my first Thai BL series, and it launched my whole fandom life here. It still has such a strong presence in my memories, and I think it was a true labor of love from every angle.
I think BounPrem were incredible in Between Us, but I don't think Between Us was the series they deserved. In the months since it ended, I've gotten more critical of how Between Us was handled and it's dropped quite a few spaces on my list. I think if they had stuck closer to the novel, removed BeePrince completely, used fewer flashbacks, fewer UWMA clips, and not tried to cram six musical tracks into some scenes to guide viewers' emotions, it would have been a stronger series. I honestly get the impression New did it for BounPrem rather than out of a genuine love for the characters, and that might be why it didn't have the spark UWMA does. I think it was a labor of love for BounPrem, and I think New loves BounPrem, but I don't think he loved WinTeam's story as much as he loved DeanPharm's. Not his fault, but a different director might've been a better choice for the project.
-- SOTUS or Be My Favorite --
Be My Favorite!
From 2020-2022 my top three were 1) UWMA, 2) SOTUS, and 3) DBK, but then I did an honest reevaluation and realized that over time, SOTUS has had just a tiny bit more of an emotional impact on me than UWMA, so it took the top spot. And of course Triage came along and blasted up to take DBK's spot.
As soon as I saw the teaser in 2021, I knew I'd love Be My Favorite, I just never expected it to…Be My Favorite. \:D/
It's time travel, it's Krist, it's Gawin, it's queer as fuck, and it's the closest to perfect I've seen yet. Ever since it ended, I've just been in this bubble of bliss. I can't believe it exists, that we got such a perfect casting, that Gawin and Krist became so close, that they see each other as family now, that that chemistry is so clear in the series. It's just one of those significant series that rearranges your brain chemistry, like SOTUS, UWMA, and DBK before it were for me. <3
-- Reaper Storyline or Time Loop Storyline --
Okay, so with the understanding that most subject material can be great in the hands of a great storyteller, just from a, "Hey, Key, this series/book/TV show has a __ storyline," basis, I'll go with Time Loop. Time shenanigans is one of the fastest way to hook me (Be My Favorite, Triage, I Feel You Linger, etc.).
-- WinTeam or KawiPi --
WinTeam. Always, always WinTeam. :')
They're just the ultimate OTP for me. Of any series, movie, book, anything. I think it'll always be WinTeam for me.
-- Watch the Movie/Series or Read the Book --
Hmm. For Thai BL: series. In general: book. From what I understand, a lot of the novels Thai BL series are based on tend to be very rough. Like, written and uploaded by the author without an editing process or even a beta reader in the middle. LazySheep (Red Thread/UWMA, Hemp Rope/BU) is an indie author, though. She's with Hermit Books, and she's mentioned her editor on Twitter, and I think the extra steps she takes in the process of publishing her novels show in how polished her stories are compared to the average Thai BL novel.

How would you have made Helsa canon?
Okay there are 3 ways we can go about this.
Frozen. In the first Frozen, it's Elsa Hans meets, not Anna. It starts out with a dance, at first Elsa is hesitant, but Hans says please and Elsa could not refuse. Elsa finds a kindred spirit in Hans. Hans shares his mistreatment over the hands of his family and Elsa reveals that her parents made her conceal, don't feel. Hans says "maybe we're more alike than I thought, your majesty" Elsa tells Hans how she had to shut Anna out and Hans simply tells her "you were close, if you open up, I'm sure she would forgive you. Before Elsa goes to see Anna, Hans gives Elsa a winter rose. And Elsa smiles like she's never before. More of the events of the first movie happens. Elsa and Anna reunite, Elsa loses control and shuts Anna and Hans out and Let It Go. Anna and Kristoff's journey. When Hans comes to save Elsa at her castle. Hans tells Elsa she's not a monster, the powers she wields are beautiful, and for once in her life, Elsa doesn't view this power as a curse and the warmth from Hans begins to thaw out the ice. And more or less goes like this fan comic. It's the Duke Of Weselton who's the villain.(you know the obvious asshole who has a problem with Elsa having powers). Elsa and Anna's love for each other saves each other. Elsa and Hans get married and Elsa tosses the bouquet towards Anna and Kristoff and winks at her sister. Elsa finds someone who understands her and helps her embrace her powers and someone who helped bring her and Anna back together. Hans found something worth even more than a throne. Love and magic. True love. And Hans has what he always wanted. A family. A King with his Queen
Frozen 2. Remember the Frozen 2 teaser that shows Anna picking up a sword? In my opinion, that was supposed to be Hans. But let's say that is Hans. Hans intentions are to seek help from Elsa because of the crisis and mostly he just wants to escape to the Enchanted Forest to escape the torment of his family. Absolutely no one trusts him and Hans journey is not about escape, but redemption. Also I like chooarts and other Helsa fanartists depiction of Hans having a beard. But anyways, the fire spirit latches onto Hans.(more on that later) When Elsa leaves Anna behind, Hans goes to find her. When Hans finds her, she's frozen like in the movie. The fire spirt bonds with Hans and Hans uses his new found power to save Elsa. Elsa, Hans, Anna and Kristoff together save the Enchanted Forrest. And Elsa tells Hans she forgives him and they hold hands and embrace in a hug an teasing for something more. And Olaf makes a joke about the two lovebirds while Elsa and Hans turn redder than fire. Eventually Anna forgives Hans. He saved Elsa and helped save the Enchanted Forest and Arendelle and Hans wishes her the best with Kristoff, he is a better man for her than he could've been. And they part as friends. Where Elsa found the place she belongs, Hans found his belonging with Elsa, because the Fifth Spirit needs the Fire spirit to stay whole. Anna takes her place as Queen with Kristoff, while Elsa and Hans stay in the Enchanted Forest.
Frozen 3. Hans' father and 12 brothers intend to invade Arendelle. They see Arendelle as vulnerable without Elsa. So Hans goes to the Enchanted Forest to warn Elsa. And together Elsa and Hans would save Arendelle together. I also think it should be revealed that Hans has Fire Powers. In the process of working together, Elsa and Hans begin to fall for each other and Elsa finally learns to forgive Hans for what he's done. And with Elsa as a master of ice and Hans a master of fire, Fire & Ice together saves the day and unites two kingdoms.
