Sometimes, they underestimated their resident prefect's strength. Enough times Overblots resulted in them having crazy strength when adrenaline kicked in.

Ace, Deuce and Grim witnessed it first-hand when Yuu picks them up in the forest to escape from a wild bear- don't ask, it's a long story.

Then Yuu picks Jack up in bridal style when he hit his head to the nurse office. He's bleeding, but he's definitely isn't hallucinating that the Prefect picks him off the ground.

Epel got it when they're running away from Vil. And he kids you not, he got thrown over Yuu's shoulder and they leapt from the second floor. Vil was flabbergasted enough that he forgot what he was even mad about in the first place.

Ortho got carried when his power systems got hit by a stray magic bullet during practice. Idia did a double take because did this guy just carry his robot brother all the way from the field?

And as for Sebek, he got humbled because of one of his rants of humans being weak. Yuu carried him around on their shoulders for a good 30 minutes.

But the biggest twist of all is when Yuu grabs all of them to escape a manticore- again, don't ask.

But Yuu can't carry them all, so Yuu was actually holding Jack and Sebek in each arm, Ace and Deuce in their laps, and Epel and Ortho in their laps. Grim is on Yuu's head, gripping for his life.

When they finally made it back to camp, the boys just looks at each other and ask; D-Did that really just happen or are they dreaming?

Ortho: I got it all in my databank. It's real.

Yuubeni’s hands sweated tremendously. And shook. Well, her entire body was trembling as she clutched her sketchbook as tight as humanly possible. ‘Oh god oh god oh god. Maybe I should just leave. I’m gonna embarrass myself so bad. Everyone’s gonna be so cool and I’m gonna be totally lame and they’re all gonna laugh at me—‘

She batted herself lightly on the cheek, clenching her fists. ‘No! No, I can do this. Just walk in there. Be cool. Suave? No, that’s weird… AUUGHHHH!’ She stared straight at the 1-F next to the door, pulling up the flyer to check to make sure the class was right. ‘What if I accidentally walked into the wrong class? I’d actually turn into a pile of ash.’

Standing there for a good while, her mind drifted to the name on the flyer; ‘Yuuki Kamiyama…’ Her hand raised to smooth down her hair, one of her fingers snagging on a piece of curl. A mortified expression gained onto her face as she realized she got pink paint in her hair, presumably from painting last night. ‘I’m not ready I’m not ready I can’t—!’ She almost crumpled into a ball right there in the hall from anxiety, but she steeled herself.

‘I’m going in there. If it’s not for me, I’ll just skedaddle, plain and simple…’

A sigh escaped her as she nodded to herself, one of her hands reaching out for the door handle (after wiping the sweat off on her pant leg, of course). A subtle click as she turned it, and the door swung open…

I did this all in one day 😭 you could say I was a little excited hehe. The assets (like the watercolor set I did) for cards are actually pretty easy, you can take a real life object and trace over it with a thick lineart, simplify it and then overlay a paper texture!

There are many twst fans who, like me, hope that Yuu appears in Ace and Deuce's dreams, and although it does not seem very likely, if Nobara is revived, let us have faith that Yuu will appear in some dream.

I'm a fan of the Aceyuu ship, *coughs* Ace's voice lines *coughs* He likes Yuu but doesn't want to accept him *coughs*

Given we have finally gotten news regarding the anime what do you think about it being an adaptation of the manga?

I have some mixed opinions since we'll be seeing the same story for the 4th time at this point (game/manga/novel/anime) but there does appear to be some differences with each especially with each unique Yuu. I do think the OBs and fight choreography is best animated over a slice of life show.

I'm not expecting any major changes from the manga if any at all but I'm happy to see it animated at all. I do hope it is successful so that the other books get animated. I feel like we are in a purgatory of early TWST with how often we go back to the earlier books in different mediums.

Gonna be honest with you, I’m kinda numb to getting yet another adaptation of the main story (a story that, mind you, we've already heard ad nauseum). At this point, it really does feel like a never-ending purgatory where we are forced to relive Heartslabyul over and over and over 😅 Of course, I'm still looking forward to seeing the anime and watching some of the more complicated scenes play out (fights, flashback sequences, playing magift/spelldrive, etc.). However, I think I would have preferred something new...? For example, vignettes, the event stories, etc.

The anime being an adaptation of the manga is... fine? But that means the anime may also have the same issues that I have with the manga. Those would be:

We will never really be able to fully bond with or know Yuu on a deeper level since Yuu is constantly changing between books/seasons. We won't get to see how the Yuu of Heartslabyul interacts with characters in later books, we won't get to see how the Yuu of Octavinelle handled the Heartslabyul and Savanaclaw conflicts, etc. This sucks particularly because if you really love a particular Yuu, you know they won’t be sticking around.

Despite the Yuus being designed as foils for the OB boys of each respective arc, no special meaningful interactions come out of it. The reader/viewer is just left to draw the parallels but there is never a moment where Yuu and the OB boy reconcile about their similarities/differences, which would actually justify the frequent changing of the POV character.

Barely any alterations are made from the game's story, since the manga isn't allowed to deviate in significant ways. No matter how different the Yuu is, they cannot ever make a decision or even have dialogue that would actually change the story in interesting ways.

General time constraints (manga arcs are 20 chapters, seasons have a limited number of episodes).

Limited showing/screen time of some characters. Because the adaptation will be of the main story, some characters that make very bad first impressions (hi, book 2 Leona… hi, Sebek without the vignettes…) will maintain those bad first impressions and won’t have a chance to redeem themselves simply because the bonus content (vignettes, event stories, etc.) aren’t adapted. Other characters won’t get as much focus simply because they aren’t the OB boys. The former would mainly be a concern for anime/manga-only fans.

Most of my disappointment comes not from reliving the same story, but that we are reliving the same story with minimal changes. I would enjoy adaptations more if they actually played around with the source material and explored new avenues! It feels like a missed opportunity, you know??

As I said earlier in this post, this is NOT meant to be overly negative; this is healthy skepticism. I'd describe myself as still excited, but not as excited as I would be if the anime were about something else set in the Twst world. Hope that makes sense 🙏

I would also caution readers to take my concerns with a grain of salt; for all we know, maybe the anime will add new scenes or fix some of the issues I pointed out. We should wait until the anime is out to judge its content and quality for ourselves.

On a positive note though 🤡 M-Maybe we will see. Shirtless L*ona animated… because… y’know… Episode of Savanaclaw technically canonized it… HAHAHAh JK… unless…? 🥺 👉👈

I am completely and wholeheartedly under the belief that Grim being in the same dream as Yuu is confirmation that Grim's dream/ideal world is one where he's with Yuu.

Like it's no secret that Yuu genuinely loves and cares for Grim, they've literally gone to hell and back for him, but it's also pretty obvious that Grim loves and cares for Yuu. From voice lines about him only behaving when Yuu is around to him trying to protect us in Book 7 to even the recent event with Stitch, we can clearly see how much Grim cares about Yuu (and their opinion) and sees them as his own family.

It's always been Yuu and Grim, never one without the other, two sides to the same coin.

And I think that's just beautiful.
