In the case against Amber Heard, Depp's team went to great lengths to hide evidence against their client, they spent millions of dollars making sure it stays off the net, and his fans spent a shit ton of money afterwards to uncover that evidence in the greatest bamboozle I've ever seen in my short life. It would have been hilarious if it wasn't so tragic. They rode so hard for their childhood hero and paid so much money to get that hidden evidence uncovered only to find hospital records of every thing they said Amber Heard lied about. Meanwhile Amber Heard and her team barely had peanuts compared to the wealth of resources Depp had.
Baldoni's Team, which are the same people btw, aren't even doing that. Because they've learned that the people are frothing at the mouth waiting for the chance to rip a woman apart. They know that even with Blake's and her husband's billions of dollars, and Baldoni's far far lesser status than Depp, she's still just a woman. They don't even need to come up with a strategy or hide evidence or bribe judges. They just need one or two people to say "uhm that d list actor i saw on like one cw show and maybe heard about his podcast like once is like soooooo hot I'd also throw myself at him and then destroy my reputation my career my family my image and chances of future employment when he rejects me because I'm just a dumb blonde, an aging dumb blonde" and the Internet just runs with it. I am disgusted and so fucking disappointed.
The number of women who were told "that man isn't harassing you, you're projecting your little crush on him" or "he's not catcalling you he's giving you a compliment you're obviously fishing for and when he doesn't compliment you anymore you'll start crying because it will mean you're old and ugly" or "that man didn't rape you, you just regretted sleeping with him because it makes you a slut so you're crying rape to save face" is heartbreaking. I can say with certainty that every single one of us either knows one of these women or is one of these women.
And to all the pick mes going to war for Baldoni's ego while his team pops champagne for the easiest money they've ever made, you are either one of these women or you will be at some point in your life. Especially with the way the patriarchy is taking back control right now.
This is why I never liked dunking on girlbossism or imperfect feminists. Because the patriarchy used very valid criticisms to roll us all the way back to just hating women. Feminists were looking for a better way to do things. The rest were just hating on women.
"Blake Lively is the epitome of white feminism and girlboss feminism therefore I hate her and don't believe her when she's been abused" do you fucking hear yourself? Women don't owe you a perfect record of activism to be worthy of human decency.
Is Blake Lively a perfect self aware social justice warrior? No. Is she a victim who deserve justice? Yes.
Was Amber Heard the perfect victim who took every assault lying down then cried a single aesthetically pleasing tear before stoically forgiving her abuser and rapist and embracing him one last time because he's just a hurt man an she's the jezebel that pushed him to anger? No because she's fucking human and she did not deserve any of what was done to her during her marriage or after.
It is disgusting. And all the accounts tearing Blake Lively appart then complaining about Trump's presidency, I beg you to ask yourself why it has become so easy to discredit a woman. It's not a coincidence. It is sinister. And I am not exaggerating when I say it's an omen of a very dark future for women.
Celebrities have always been a microcosme of society. They're mirrors we project our beliefs on. And if the first thing people see when they look at the mountain of evidence against Baldoni is "an aging white woman trying to hide an emotional affair from her husband by ruining a poor hard working man's life" then the 1950s that the far right promised really are here.

This chapter was a fucking soap opera
Spoilersand rambling because yeah
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor thoma realized he can't have more than one boyfriend. IT WAS A BITCH ASS MOVE TO CUT OFF THE CHAPTER AT THIS PART! WE KNOW THEY Aren't GONNA SHOW US ANY OF THIS AND ITS GONNA BE SOME OFF SCREEN BULLSHIT
They did it with the festival thing, they did it with apparently us comforting lyca and they're gonna do it again here I BET MONEY ON IT.
Tumblr media
I'm kinda worried about Jin's mental health, it's already not the best but now he's under the assumption that one of his closest allies has been lying to him this entire time no wonder he was barely in this chapter I'd be pretty fucked up too. Jin isn't close to legit anyone else besides Thoma and we see the way he gets treated.
Tumblr media
Leo being a bitch is normal but HOW THE FUCK DOES HE KEEP DOING SHIT LIKE THIS!? WHO DOES HE KNOW!?
He met Thoma once or twice and immediately finds some fucking dirt on him , what are his connections or is he simply that spiteful? Does get some form of dirt on everyone he talks to? I wouldn't doubt it but dang
Tumblr media
So how do we feel about kaitos Grandma... It's giving kinda abusive. That's all I have to say
Tumblr media
NGL when I met the princess I thought her whole motivation was gonna be that she wanted Jin to notice her or sum shit.
He's the only reason she came to Japan
She immediately rushes to greet him
Refuse to dance with any other man
Learn Japanese just for jin
The dullian tried to attack PC (a woman who's close to Jin)
They were planning on moving her to darwick. (Guess who's also at darwick)
I really thought it was gonna be some yandere shit and this was a ploy to get Jin in someway especially since they talked about it in the earlier chapters. One of those if I can't have him nobody can but I'm pleasantly surprised.
Tumblr media
Someone give my girl a hug , it's already bad enough that the characters and plot have to remind her she's getting closer to dying with every month and I got say she's handling it better than me
She's trying her best to help and I really do wish they gave her a more active role. Let her find some shit while investigating! Let her solve a case before the ghouls figure out. I'm glad she was able to have a little part but come on y'all can do more than she got a text from Jin and she showed Thoma.
The chapters are getting so small
Okay I think I got all out of my system.

i... I was thinking more of a normal muggle family taking him in and loving him and accepting that he's a wizard and what that would do for his views on muggles and muggleborns.... But my god your idea sounds so fucking chaotic god damn😭🤣
Would he just try to destroy evil witches and wizards then?😂
okay but continuing to ignore your initial question and carrying on with my crazy: imagine if he was born into one of those horrible religions, you know where they tell people who are deathly ill not to go to doctors and shit because they can cure them with prayer, that kind of thing - super culty - but then Tom can ACTUALLY heal them so it starts taking off. And someday he learns of the prophecy about him and Harry and immediately discards it because that’s clearly a false prophet, like so many others, only sister Annabelle gives real prophecies (Annabelle is 100% a muggle woman who has never had a true prophetic vision in her life; but her supposed visions lately always include Tom as the leader of the new world, so that’s obviously correct), so he doesn’t even give a shit about him. Or maybe that prophecy never happened in the first place. Tom still becomes a dark lord, but he’d probably take on some weird biblical name instead, and the only people he wouldn’t want to purge from the world would be whoever Annabelle says gets to stay (those who say Tom is their lord and savior amen)

The entire vibe around Emilia Perez is strange. Part of that is because a lot of people only learned it even existed because it beat out Wicked at some award show - sometimes creative types get acclimated to fucking bizarre premises and don't realize how strange it all comes together from the outside.
The movie is about a transgender woman? Yeah! Cool! Love those!
The movie is about a drug cartel lord looking to make amends for the many people hurt by said cartel lord's actions? Fuck yeah! Love those.
The movie is a musical? Cool! Yeah it's been a good season for musicals.
Now, blend that all together.
Immediately you have a problem: the director said the streets of Mexico were not how he envisioned it in his head, so they went to Paris because it better matched what he imagined for his movie on Mexico. He called it a stylistic choice. Weird. But maybe it comes together.
The drug cartels IRL are a concentrate of desperation, cruelty, and violence - hundreds of thousands of people have gone missing or been harmed or even killed by the cartels in the past two decades. The drugs winning the war on drugs has an incredible human cost all the way up. There is a political category in Mexico made up of relatives of people who simply went missing due to cartels. A cartel lord is an incredibly complex character to write about, especially one who wants to make amends for past harm. Mainly because there would be a LOT of harm to tangle with, a lot of which can never be undone.
This already incredibly complex, multi-dimensional character is then shunted into the fourth and fifth dimensions by being made transgender, in Mexico.
And then it's a musical. On top of all of that, they're having to write lyrics that RHYME over musically-interesting backing tracks.
The actual execution of the idea is rendered a nightmare by having to manage all of these delicate topics in a way that the intended audience will find palatable.
But hey, maybe it still works, so who is the intended audience? The transgender experience on Tumblr is made by and FOR trans people. The memes are different than the memes your stereotypical Gay-Straight alliance club at a random highschool in the MidWest makes. Emilia Pérez seems to have been made for virtue-signallers at award shows who want to say they support trans and Mexican art but don't want to spend much time watching any, so they slap the two together to save time. Now nobody can complain! Not ALL of the winners are white now! This is not at all the fault of the lead actress, who is a trans woman, or really any of the actors involved - the root of the problem is the IDEA. The writing. The directorial choices (some of the songs are... a little rough). The actors did what they could with what they were given, but holy fuck they were given a LOT and simultaneously not enough.
It is the equivalent of being asked to untangle spun glass. It's such an ambitious idea that it seems manic when you try to actually analyze it. And don't forget - it's also a musical!
And the understanding I've come to from discussion is that they didn't actually need this woman to be a drug cartel lord. They could have made her a shitty, absent father who transitions and realizes she was shitty because she was so unhappy, and seeks to make amends with her children - they could have made her LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE not tied to such enormous violence. They didn't use it very well! They didn't touch the tough parts of the conversation they so desperately gestured at from a distance. It's like it was made especially for the awards people to say 'what a brave movie!' like it gets a gold star for the ambition alone rather than the C- it should have gotten for inviting and then failing to serve so many serious ideas, starting with a Mexican movie filmed in Paris because Mexico didn't fit the vibes of the movie about Big Important Things in Mexico. It's condescending. You put all of these together - and then you ALSO make it a MUSICAL.
wait a bunch of ppl ( in mexico i belive) got togheter and made a mini movie where everyone is poorly pretending to be french in retaliation for the dogshit emilia perez musical this is awesome tjhey all have little mustaches drawn on with sharpie and are spealing the worst french ever

Why each Jean Valjean can't fuck. And yet...
The Brick: The first time you come on to the man, he smiles. The next time, he gives you money (hey, you're not too proud). Then? He ghosts you. So much for physical prowess; the two of you never made it to first base. Whether out of choice, trauma, or authorial fetish, the man's a committed virgin. And yet... you have to admit, the sweet memories of how those muscles looked during the whole cart debacle have done more for your alone-time than some in-person performances.
'34: The strength, the money, the air of dignity—he's got the same appeal as the original, and if he embodies his sadness with the aesthetic of a melting candle, well, that's a phallic-adjacent image, ain't it? Awful shame he's just as caught up in his penance and his duty, too. With a sorrowful (if somewhat aggrieved) shrug, he's off to the sewers, and that's not any kind of euphemism. And yet... you've seen how he can balance a guy on his back and not bat an eyelash. A person has got to wonder about natural talent.
'35: You think you can get between him and that young woman he raised, do you? And yet... if you did, that's a lot of built-up frustration, isn't it? And he's mediocre handsome; maybe it's all a matter of how lonely the night is.
'48: You hear he's into this identity play, right? Well, you appreciate a man who can play a role. From all you've heard, it'll be as explosive as an inexplicable outbreak of violence in a foundry. He takes out a cane—hell, yeah. Then a pair of sunglasses—well, maybe—no—is he pretending to be blind?—is this ableist—?—you're pretty sure—good grief, this hasn't gone in a direction you expected. And yet... you know he got another guy to enter a hole despite there being zero sense to the thing; maybe the same will happen to you.
'52: There are men who could fuck if they could learn to appreciate what they've got, and this one can't; multiple boyfriends in the wings and what's he got eyes on? That young woman he raised. And yet... something makes Robert come home every night, doesn't it?
'58: What's he look like? what's he say, or do? You can't quite remember. You keep forgetting to add him to your body count. And yet... you can't actually say he can't fuck, with the memory so vague.
'67: This fuckin' party time rolls down the tracks until it drinks too heavy and falls right off. You can't even call it bad so much as absurd, but you can only go so far off-script before it's certainly not good. And yet... how many friends have you told about it, eh?
'72: Fucking a glacier would be a less chilly experience. And yet... he'll give you the silent disappointed daddy look the whole time, if that's your kind of thing.
'78: This fella's wearing a promise ring for someone else. Or, a sacred vow ring? In any case, he's pretty sure all that sweating and grimacing would be bad for his skin. And yet... there's a clueless virgin trope in a certain kind of fiction for a reason, right?
'98: His belief in worker ownership of the means of production and strong ACAB stance might get you in the mood, but this Valjean hasn't gotten to the point in his politics where he's unpacked the impact of heterosexism on his ability to express vulnerability, by which I mean he's absolutely not going down on you. And yet... he survives the story and still has time to learn and grow, and it's hard to beat a sugar daddy who hands out company shares.
'00: No. And yet... no.
'07: The impediment of being a cartoon aside, makes it real hard to be skilled when his mustache mostly stands in for his mouth. And yet... the potential of cartoon physics, am I right?
'12: With that little fluid in his body the only flag this babe's raising is at low tide in a dry-dock. And yet... your nostalgia does a lot to shine a positive light on the performance he can muster.
'18: I've seen what it looks like when he roars into a mattress and can tell you not to bother; nobody's that frustrated who's been having a good time, and he'll pass the energy along. And yet... maybe I would have a different opinion if I'd been viewing him from behind?

Pablo takes Mia and Nanette’s suitcases upstairs to the bedrooms and Mia would have followed him except that Renny insists that she and Nanette join him for lunch in his vast and elegant kitchen. His housekeeper has prepared bouillabaisse and home-made bread and several charcuterie boards, accompanied by red wine. When Nanette asks him what type of wine it is he tells her it is a Cabernet Franc.
“From Bordeaux, if I’m not mistaken,” says Mia, swirling a large gulp around her mouth and noisily swallowing.
Renny glances at her with an expression of gentle surprise.
“Correct,” he says. “You are a wine lover?”
“Not really, if I have more than a couple of glasses it gives me the most god awful fucking gas, but I waitressed in a lot of upmarket restaurants in a former life and I had to learn my cab francs from my cab sauvs pretty quickly if I wanted to get good tips,” she says.
“Well. Raj was right, as usual. You are definitely a woman of many talents, Mia,” says Renny.
“That's funny. I think Pablo would say exactly the same thing,” says Mia, taking another noisy slurp from her glass.

How did it feel to go from the 80’s to the explosion of acceptance around the 2010’s? In terms of being queer?
hm, interesting question. First, a couple disclaimers: I am not an expert in queer history, I was not involved in queer activism in anyway growing up, and no one in my family was queer. I was born in 1982 and am currently 42, and my mother had a lot of gay friends, but she intentionally sheltered us (my brother and I) from a lot of that once they all started dying from AIDs. For my own queerness, I worked through a lot of identities because I was an extremely confused asexual who didn't actually learn that asexuality existed until I was 30; I'm afab and was already married to a woman before I realized I was ace (I now ID as aroace, agender.).
All that said, I grew up in New York City, in a very accepting city and with a very accepting family. I knew queer people from a young age and my mom was sick of watching her friends die and got involved as she could (she was a New York City public school high school teacher; a lot of queers gravitated toward public schools because it was a stable job with decent pay and no one would care if they weren't married, in fact it was often considered a plus in the 60s and 70s for teachers to be single, and when mom got pregnant with my brother in 1976 she says multiple other teachers pressured her to quit because okay fine she was married and a teacher, but married and a teacher WITH KIDS? Appalling. needless to say she didn't quit.)
Anyway. Sorry. I lost the thread.
Honestly, the answer to this question is: utterly unbelievable.
If you had told 1990s about-to-start-high-school me that this is where we'd be in my lifetime I'd have thought you were out of your goddamn mind. I was obsessed with To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar. I'd walked in AIDs walk and raised money with my mom every year starting in 1990. Mom and I saw the original off-Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and the original Broadway production of Rent. I was about as in-the-loop and accepting as a kid in that era could be, and I spent my college years thinking I was bi (I feel the same about everyone! that's bi, right? lmao, so young and clueless). And I never, never thought that nationwide gay marriage was even in the cards. I never dreamed that trans people would be able to live as openly as they do now. I didn't even really think we could do much about AIDs beyond slowing the spread.
I am only 42. I don't even consider myself middle-aged yet (though I'm definitely getting close to that particular tipping point). I grew up with my mom's even older stories, about being friends with the gay men at Cornell when she was in college in the early 60s, and her discussions of how far things had come in HER life (she's 80 now) and yet I was the one who pointed out that my great uncle, who died before I was born, was clearly mostly definitely bi and maybe gay (the look on her face when I said that and she realized I must be right. I keep meaning to post some of Natie's photographs.)
When my wife and I got married in 2013 we planned where to live, where we could travel, where we'd have kids, all around where it would be safe. My wife has health problems; if we traveled and something happened to her, we had to be sure that we were in a state where they would recognize our marriage and let me visit her, or else we wouldn't go there.
Sorry. I'm not holding the thread of narrative in this post well, I've been pretty sick with strep throat and my brain is just refusing to make this very coherent, and also it's just... so much. The amount I've seen, how far we've come, since I was a kid, is so fucking much.
I still sometimes don't believe how far we've come, nor how quickly we've done it.
And that's exactly why conservatives are shaking in their boots. These trends challenge all the things they believe true about the nature of authority and societal control. If they let up for an instant, then they'll have to accept that cis hetero white christian men actually have never been any better than anyone else, and their whole worlds will crumble, and that scares them to death because they're also old, most older than I, and they remember exactly what every queer person when I was a kid lived with. They remember Matthew Shepard, and all the hate crimes that the queer community survived, they remembered all the slurs that we've strived to reclaim and how they were used such that we had to reclaim them, and they really think that equality is a demotion for them, and that true equality would mean they're subject to the same things they've subjected us to, and that terrifies them.
Ugh, sorry, rambling again.
What I think about the changes is that they're fucking amazing, and that if I could somehow convince 13-year-old me that any of this would happen, she'd have sobbed with joy. Especially about the asexual part lmao.
We're in a down-swing of acceptance now, but the pendulum still won't go back to where we were during the AIDs crisis, much less back to where things were a hundred years ago.
We've come so far.
We're not going back.

(x) Mahiru: I just normally loved someone. I don't think I've done anything wrong. And besides, I... can't live without love.
I hope Mahiru's T2 forgiven vote makes her worse. I hope she becomes the T2 Muu of Trial 3. I want to see her in full "I didn't do anything wrong" mode. I want her to get an It's Not My Fault-adjacent song I support women's wrongs.

i love being autistic cause sometimes i get a glimpse into how regular people perceive things and its like. what the fuck. what the fuck is that? you live like this? and its normal?? i think YOURE the weird one actually. im fine. thanks though.
#THERES SO MANY WEIRD RULES#LIKE WHAT DO YOU MEAN PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION TO HOW SOMEONE WALKS LIKE HUH????? WHY????????????#can someone fucking explain the dude head nod thing to me why do we do that. whats that about. ive never seen anyone do that irl before#is that an american thing or do i just hang around too many afab people#i am learning the intricacies of cis people gender rules and i am. what fucking planet have i been on the last 17 years like what is this#was there some like. rulebook they handed out at somepoint they forgot to give to me or something#“best way to learn is to observe the men around you” OBSERVE WHAT. YOU PEOPLE PAY THAT MUCH ATTENTION TO EVERY LITTLE MOVEMENT????#bruh i can barely make eye contact w people...#my ass has never intentionally copied someones mannerisms ever.#i do it subconsciously. but doing it actively feels weird and wrong and like im breaking someones boundaries#“men dont smile at people.” well they should.#ive decided cishet men are the most boring people on the planet#“dont move with your hands” YOURE BREAKING MY POOR THEATER KID HEART#i need to meet more gay men irl to absorb the vibe of cause i only know like two. not counting myself#i want people to look at me and go. ah yes. fruit.#at this point im just going to accept being misgendered for the rest of eternity. id rather die than be boring in the way cishet men are#my flavor of being trans is so influenced by my autism cause my perception of genders is completely off from what everyone else is doing#im like. yeah i want to be a man. and then i look at what the majority of men are actually like and its like. wait no. not like that#shoutout to flamboyant gay men where would i be without them#i think the thing that bothers me the most is that like#in my mind peoples genders are just. the way they express themselves.#its not like. this super big complex deal like how everyone else treats it. if that makes sense? like.#regular people have so many rules for what counts as a man or what counts as a woman or what counts as neither and its like???#you can do what you want???? why do we care????#and ive been doing this since i was little. on account of the autism#i just. dont get why its such a big deal to people.#i cant wrap my head around it at all#not nonbinary not a girl not aegender not a man but a secret fourth thing#(man but i do it my way instead of everyone elses way)#unfortunately doing it my way just. leads to the misgendering dimension. for some reason

Watching a video essay on how arcane S1 writes women and in the first segment alone compares Mel to Arwen as being better and more interesting cos she has more agency than Arwen, saying Arwen is pulled around by the plot and at the whims of the decisions of the male characters WHEN ARWEN'S MAIN FUCKING PART IN THE FILMS IS THAT SHE CHOOSES A MORTAL LIFE WITH ARAGORN????? HELLO????? CAN YOU FUCKING READ???? WHAT ABOUT THAT IS NOT TO DO WITH AGENCY????
(Are there cricitisms to my made about her film writing and writing in general, yes! Is this a valid one? Not in the way it's used here!)
Anyway already removed my faith in anything this guy has to say cos holy shit you do Not understand lord of the rings. Shut up.

Got to the other side but its joy is interrupted by its abuser that it has lived with its entire life and whom is responsible for everything wrong with it and never stops or changes and drives it insane daily.
It has never been independent or learned any life skills or how to do anything in the house but it needs to live away from this person, she is its “guardian/caretaker” but she has never done anything to meet its needs, it has wasted its life doing everything humanly possible to change her so that lamb could suffer less neglect, but all in vain. It can’t keep trying to evolve in this environment, it is the reason its progress always eventually gets lost in dissociation for, sometimes months, that is so discouraging, it always has to start over to get to where it was and try to make sure the lessons stay locked and don’t get forgotten, but it is a pushing boulder up hill situation. Fuck this woman.

"was there a reason you didn't cancel this" honestly I thought I had so no there wasn't a reason but also if clients are going to have Your personal number and reach out to You about canceling (when they Should be reaching out via email per our cancelation policy) then You should be canceling the appt anyway imo. all the other trainers cancel their appointments AND add their appointments to the system 🤪
#noah.txt#also I do realize my annoyance is unwarranted but also I'm sosososo tired of this job#she's thinking about closing down for a month for renos and she's not going to pay anyone for that month#and she's not sure if she's going to set it up where we can file unemployment or if she's going to#make us be freelancers under the company name#also she booked an appt but didn't put it in the system and didnt Tell Me and someone put in a booking request for that day/time#and it's frustrating b/c the whole reason she wanted clients to be able to book via the online portal is to#make my job easier/more automated but it's not easier when I'm having to email 5 clients because she cant be fucked to learn the system#then I'm talking to a coworker about how my doctor said I need to get my stress down#and she has the AUDACITY to ask me if she's contributing to the stress#like... yeah you're like the primary stressor in my life because I got hired for an hourly position 2 years ago#yet you treat me like I'm a salary employee who is supposed to be on call#and yeah it's frustrating and stressful to feel like I can never fully relax b/c you might need something#and it's even more frustrating when the things she needs she'll call me about. I won't answer b/c I'm busy#then I'll call her back and she'll be like ''oh I looked for it after I got voicemail''#okay so you don't THINK to do a little investigating before calling me during my time off?#very funny to me that I've been in a therapy session talking about her and she will call me (I do not answer)#my job was not and is not to be a personal assistant yet that is the position I've been forced into#and quite frankly I do not get paid enough to deal with being a personal assistant to#an immature people pleasing 34 year old woman who lacks basic empathy and doesn't give a shit about her employees#like I wanted to like her! I want to like her! she's gay and Jewish! but she also stinks of white rich kid privilege#also she's having a baby with her wife and this is a baby she actively does not want and a baby they're having to fix their marriage#which is a very tough thing for me to watch from the sidelines#she also is always picking apart peoples appearances and shes also told me she would probably leave her wife if she grew her hair out#anyway there's a lot more on a personal and professional level but my break is over
