Remember when exactly one year ago today the world celebrated a bisexual woman being harassed by her abuser, and applauded him for successfully using the court system to further humiliate and hurt her. Remember when they showed his homophobic/transphobic texts in court—which he used as justification for his DV—and the jury decided that it didn’t really count. Remember when people waited outside the court house to hug and congratulate him for successfully getting away with it. On the first day of pride month.

Hate to break this to people but the Brad and Angelina situation is just like the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard situation, with one major difference — there are children involved.

Amber and Angelina are two women who’ve been abused by their husbands who are rich and famous. I heard Brad might’ve sued Angelina for defamation, sounds familiar??

I see people who “lowkey wants Brad to win” because they hate Angelina. And Angelina is an even bigger star than Amber is — but it doesn’t matter because people will take every opportunity to turn on women and hate them, even when they’re finally speaking out against someone who abused them.

It doesn’t matter how much evidence, or in Brad and Angelina’s case, the testimony from their kids. People would rather believe a woman has poisoned the mind of her kids rather than the fact that they grew up in an abusive household where they witnessed and lived through their fathers abuse.

As someone who knows people who’ve been in a marriage that was abusive, let me tell you: the kids always know.

Can we not repeat history again? Can we not treat Angelina the way people treated Amber? Is it too much to ask that people believe women and children?

someone said it on twitter but i can’t find it - but it’s astonishing how people found it more believable that a woman in her 20s concocted a scheme over multiple years to frame her millionaire, worldwide-famous actor husband of domestic abuse, as opposed to the possibility that this famous actor (who is almost 20 years her senior and has publicly-known problems with alcohol and drugs since the 90s) was so angry that his moment in hollywood had passed, he wasn’t as popular as he used to be, but that his wife was doing better at the box-office than he was, she wanted to leave him and he just couldn’t stand the idea of her being happy or financially stable without him. misogyny is a fabulous thing isn’t it.
