Ah, yes, when I think of "taking the plunge" the first two examples I always think of are leaving my job and (checks notes) becoming a prostitute.

Google docs isn’t deleting your docs just because they have lewd text.
OP turned off reblogs of the post due to being debunked, but here’s a link of the reblog so you can still read stuff. Hate Google all you want but misinformation helps no one.

I just saw a post that claimed the origin of the term "squick" was a portmanteau of "squeamish" and "ick" and while I can absolutely believe there are multiple origins and convergent evolution and all that jazz for a term so useful, I am absolutely appalled that people will think that's actually the main origin.
It's an onomatopoeia for the sound of someone fucking the eye socket of a skull. Which understandably was a concept a lot of people found uncomfortable, and so it became more generalized for "wow that makes me uncomfortable."

I know Urban Dictionary is far from the most reliable source but there are *multiple* similar origin/definitions all submitted around 20 years ago.
Wiki agrees:

~it's a portmanteau~ I'm sorry I refuse to accept this washing of history and I also refuse to get into it on someone else's post.
It's skull-fucking. 🤣

From Wikipedia: The Portrait of Juan de Pareja is a painting by Spanish artist Diego Velázquez of the enslaved Juan de Pareja, a notable painter in his own right, who was owned by Velázquez at the time the painting was completed. Velázquez painted the portrait in Rome, while traveling in Italy, in 1650. It is the earliest known portrait of a Spanish man of African descent. (Source link:

Like seriously it's so funny so far. The mc is a transmigrator and had just read the first five books he's found himself in, so he doesn't know how it ends but he knows he's gonna get beat nearly to death and doesn't want that, so he's like, "okay I can do this. All I have to do is keep acting like a lout!" and then he proceeds to do such ~terrible~, ~loutish~ things as,
* having breakfast with his family
* thanking the cook for making delicious food
* getting tea and reading a book
* feeding stray kittens
* offering hungry kids food
* making sure a homeless guy gets a place to spend the night
* massively overpaying for literally everything he buys and telling the commoners to keep the change
And the whole time his inner monologue is like, "ha, I am such an amazing jerk, I had the gall to talk to my dad while he was eating! I'm gonna get an A+ in lout, something that is both reasonable to want and possible to achieve!"
And meanwhile the butler is like, "I don't know what's going on with young master, he only got a *little* drunk AND he actually *came home* last night!" and his dad is like "damn that sounds serious keep an eye on him."
Grabbed the first vol of Lout of the Counts Family from Libby and so far I'm loving the vibe. "I'm such a lout, watch me share a lovely meal with my family." "Look I'm feeding these two kittens ain't I a bastard?" "I don't need a reason to help a random needy guy [who is the "actual" mc, transmigration aside] cause I'm such a jerk." The mc is an idiot. I hope he never changes. 🤣

So I read DunMesh and watched part of the anime earlier this year, but last night I rewatched the first two episodes with my wife, and lemme tell you, the loving descriptions and depictions of Senshi making meals are about 8x funnier now that I've read What Did You Eat Yesterday? and am therefore more aware of the entire genre of manga meticulously and pointlessly spending page upon page telling and illustrating the preparation of a meal.
