woobie destroyer of worlds is one of my all-time favorite tropes.
i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good
#musings#tropes#on writing#and like#this is often how i write#ryoko otonashi#and the fall into#junko enoshima#and the idea of knocking down the dominoes that were already set up#seeing the human experimentations that already happened#and probably would have happened MORE after that success because hpa had so many willing labrats#and that's ONE school in ONE place#and with her ultimate analysis#junko wanting to burn everything down? makes sense#like a wildfire burning in a forest allows for new growth#and is actually an important part of the ecosystem#a junko who tears everything down so that something else could be built in its place#who is so tired of everyone saying that things are so good when she knows better#she KNOWS better#LOOK AT THE KILLING GAME YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEST OF THE BEST AND YOU'RE. okay is she being actually immature or is it just a woman over 30 expressing a human experience you find to be immature.
like yeah. at certain ages... let shit go. im not defending the real immature shit. im not defending the karen you're picturing. i worked in retail i hate those people too. (once somebody got mad at me because she didn't like how our winter window decor was a snowman smoking a pipe. i wish i was joking).
but men at 57 will write books about how 17 year old girls are soooo sexy. they will invent worlds where women have to be naked for "armor reasons." they will write songs that treat women as objects. people rush to defend them. meanwhile a woman at 35 will be like "heartbreak is hard, actually" or "i feel betrayed by a friend" or "i am struggling with something emotionally." immediately people will say stuff like this woman is 35 by the way. by the way this woman is SO OLD to be experiencing this. BY THE WAY.
im 31, almost 32. the other day a poet was blasted online because at her "big age", she had written a poem about feeling unloved. top comment was "this woman is 29 by the way." this woman is too old to still be useful, by the way. she has to behave better . maybe if she was a good wife and mother she could stop existing loudly, and the story could continue on without her. this woman has served her purpose, by the way. she's so cringe, by the way. at 29 - so old! - she still hasn't figured out that her existence should be one of shame.
#what the fuck.#unfortunately by the time i'd switched accounts (from personal to my poetry one)#i couldn't find it :(#this is why u SEND URSELF THE POST. WHICH I KNOW TO DO BUT!!!#i was so mad i just was like âi'm about to tear this commenter in twainâ and . lost da post#if u urself are the 29 and got recently flamed by instagram#i love u. come here. write with me. i was about to pick up a sword for u.#i mean a BIGASS sword.#like we all know im a wlw girlie but the way ppl will be like ''id NEVER write sad poetry about a MAN not LOVING me!!!"#..... wowwwww ur so cool. anyway. people often experience emotions regardless of what u consider cringe.#& if ur gonna shame straight/bi women for feeling a certain way. hope u never write about the#weird relationship between u and ur father. or feeling different from ur brother.#or how ur male best friend fucked u over. since it's SO CRINGE. to have ANY feelings caused by a MAN#like be so for real. beloved. nobody is fucking saying this when men do it.#''oh it's cringe to like a woman or feel heartbroken by her.''#controlling women's feelings and actions???? it's more likely than u think.#btw op is nonbinary do NOT be gender essential on this post i'll kill u with my teeth#edit: btw for the person who dm'd me ''when is it misogyny and when is it actually valid''#pretty easy. if a man had done it#would it be cringe? . like if a man sang a sad song about ''she broke my damn heart''?#if he said ''i want to have kids with her'' or something sexually explicit?? like would u even LIKE IT if a male poet had said it?#& if it's like. nah a 35 yr old man being upset about this is cringe too. yeah it's just cringe. that exists. we both know it does.#but .... often i see this ONLY about women. and i can't help but hear like. how back in middle school#we were fed the lie ''girls mature faster.'' ... why do i have to be emotionally regulated? but if a man wrote about the same things?#..... idk . im pretty anti cringe culture to begin with. but this one feels so bad to me . ur still a person past 33.

thinking about how the extra area added on to a pacifist run of undertale, the true lab, is about alphys's past mistakes. how it ends with the story reaffirming that, despite the pain she's caused, the thing that matters is that she has now made the choice to do the right thing. she's still worthy of her friends' love.
thinking about how undertale doesn't expect the player to get a pacifist ending for the first time. how it's more likely than not that the player will kill toriel the first time they battle her, how lots of players don't initially figure out how to end undyne's fight without killing her, etc. what it expects â not even expects, really, but hopes â is that the player, if they care enough, will use their canonically acknowledged power over time to make up for those mistakes.
no matter how many neutral runs a player has done before committing to the pacifist run, the thing that matters to the characters, to the story, is that you've chosen, now, to do the right thing.
compared to alphys, the player honestly gets off lightly, in that you're the only one (other than flowey) who really remembers any harm you might have caused. and any direct guilting the game could have done about it is long past at this point. instead, as undertale often does, it makes its point via parallels: alphys caused harm, and she knows it. she has committed to being better. in doing so, she has unlocked for herself a better ending to her story. and she deserves it. she's forgiven.
those structural narrative parallels are all over undertale, if you know where to look. and that's one of the things that makes it so fuckin' good.
#undertale#alphys#true lab#this inspired by a mutual's alphys posting#and a discord convo i had a couple weeks back about ut's stance on ''punishing'' the player vs the monsters for their actions#and thoughts i've had generally post a certain fangame with a color in its name about just how well ut is structured as a narrative#everyone rightfully praises toby fox's character writing but stuff like this i think flies under the radar a bit by comparison#and it deserves to be appreciated#there's obvious Lore reasons why the true lab is only visited in a pacifist run (what's revealed about chara and flowey)#but this is the other half of it: the message of alphys's story hits hardest on a paci route post neutral runs#toby fox is a good writer more often than not

Come watch dungeon meshi we have a (seemingly) typical white autistic man who doesn't understand social norms, an autistic man of colour who overcompensates for social deficits by being too good at social norms (while still struggling socially), and we even have the "grew up autistic but also Asian so I have a very good understanding of cultural and social norms but I still struggle socially" variety of autistic man.
#this post lacks a great deal of nuance obviously#but seriously i love how toshiro/shuro kabru and laios are all so clearly autistic just in very different ways#you dont get to see that often in media#and Ryoko Kui's writing is really good so she's able to explore the dynamic in pretty interesting ways#dungeon meshi#laios touden#shuro dungeon meshi#toshiro nakamoto#shuro dunmeshi#dunmeshi#kabru of utaya#kabru dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#kabru

Imagine you live in pelican town. The new farmer has been here a couple weeks now and seems to be settling in, except... He's picking the weirdest friend choices. Like sure it's not weird to befriend the local fisherman, especially when he has an interest in fishing himself, but you're pretty sure you've seen him rooting through the Saloon's garbage with the local homeless man. As well, he keeps harassing the poor guy who works at Joja even though you KNOW he doesn't want to be friends with him.
And since you're on the topic of weirdness, isn't it odd he seemingly runs everywhere at a full sprint? Or just... Eats entire raw fish while fishing for "energy reasons"...
...
Despite all that, it's too early to call him off putting or anything... He has been engaging in town traditions, and he's started helping out with the old community centre. He's probably like the rest of you. Someone with a few quirks, that will fit in with the valley great!
Surely he can't get any weirder... Right?
#been playing my new sdv save some more recently#i keep thinking about the whole âeldritchâ farmer thing#where the famer is just... objectively strange#i fucking love it#i love the idea of the farmer being some sort of higher being#someone who doesnt understand local conventions#someone who doesnt get why its considered weird to eat whole raw fish fresh from the river#or how it might be offputting to greet someone for the first time using their name#but at the same time#this eldritch entity genuinely wants to be a part of the community#they want to learn and they want to love and they want to learn to love#i see minmaxxer/speedrunner eldritch famer a lot#mainly played off for gags#but not genuinely loving their live in the valley eldritch farmer#at least not often#theres so much temptation to write an eldritch farmer x shane fanfic set in spring 1 or some shit lmao#text post#stardew valley#sdv#sdv farmer

I came here for the silly haha doodles, but I've stayed for the absolutely blazing commentary in the tags. Your analysis of this story is so so so good! Thanks for all the work and thought you put into this!
I am just a silly little comics blog. I am not hiding anything in the tags, no way. Never.
#ask#digital art#I truly am grateful for the amount of people that not only read my journal-essay-thoughts on my comics#but also take the time to respond and/or write their own thoughts on the themes and scenes.#I really love taking apart stories and seeing how the threads weave together. Like flipping over an embroidered tapestry!#Some people thinks it ruins the illusion of what a story is - to me it *elevates* the experience to see the seams.#It's like knowing how they did the practical effects and stunts in a movie. It give you a deeper appreciation for the work that went into i#Thank you for acknowledging the work I put into every part of this project!#When I started drawing I....well...wasn't really the strongest with my visuals.#Humorously recapping scenes played off of my strengths (silly billying) and also just made the project *fun*.#But right from the start I also wanted to take my time and marinate on the themes and journal my thoughts.#I never really expected people to read them!#What might seem like a quick comic takes me several hours and I often spend a good bit of time with my tag essays too.#I owe so much to everyone who's dropped by to cheer me on and make this blog into part of the community.#to those who just lurk or drop by once in a blue moon - I thank you as well for coming along for the journey.#So even though it adds extra time; these little essays are a treat for you B*)

Overindulgent father Astarion who tells his children theyâre allergic to any kind of jewellery that isnât made of the highest grade Dwarven crafted gold.Â
Itâs not even because Astarion might have a certain aversion to silver, no, he just raises his children to have standards, thank you very much.Â
And it doesnât end with shiny things, oh noâŚÂ
The AncunĂn brood is known to be dressed in perfectly woven cotton, silk and soft leather clothes, no matter the occasion.
Theyâre seen playing with expensive toys, reading artfully illustrated books that certainly belong behind thick glass, not in childrenâs sticky hands.Â
Thereâs even talk that one of the children is not as naturally inclined to music as his parents claim him to be, surely his lyre must be enchantedâthe instrument certainly looks extravagant enough!Â
And then thereâs always this air of effortless haughtiness surrounding the AncunĂn children whenever their nannies and servants are parading them through town as if they were perfect little dolls; objects to show off the wealth their parents acquired in quite the mysterious ways.Â
So, itâs no secret that Astarion and Tav are pampering their childrenâsome might say theyâre even spoiling them rotten.Â
And maybe they are, especially Astarion.
But he doesnât see why he should raise them any other way, nor does he want to. Â
When it comes to his children, Astarion has his own standards, and as long as Tav agrees with him nothing really matters.Â
Because, these people, they donât know anything about the AncunĂns.Â
They donât know that itâs not unusual for Astarion to wash out dirt and mud and strawberry stains from comically small finery, leaving behind only the memories of a day spent playing in the garden, chasing after ducks, picking flowers, lazing in the sunâŚ
That any holes and tears the childrenâs clothes might suffer are quickly mended, making them look as good as new in no time.Â
Nor do they know that Astarion doesnât mind fashioning a brand new dress to match that of a favourite doll, either. Or to embroider a pretty vest with the likeness of that stray cat the children seem to adore, although their father would rather they donât touch the mangy animal.Â
No, those people know nothing at all...
âNot tired!â Astarionâs youngest cries; the vehement denial of her fatherâs earlier accusation is cut short by a telltale yawn.
The room still smells of fragrant lavender oil and peaches even when the bath water has already grown tepid, just one or two degrees above what Astarion would consider too cold to be enjoyable.Â
Amused, he raises an eyebrow at the protesting toddler before he lifts her out of the copper bathtub with little effort.Â
By now, he knows every step of this game.
âTut-tut, my dear child, what did mama and I say?â Astarion kneels, quickly wrapping a soft towel around the child to keep her warm. âWe only tell lies outside of this house.â
Unfazed by her fatherâs gentle scolding, the girl crosses her arms that havenât yet lost their puppy fat across her chest, reminding Astarion a little too much of a very displeased Tav.Â
Suppressing a sigh, he leans back to consider the pouting child, wondering what could possibly be upsetting her this timeâthe list is growing longer by the day, after all.Â
âWhatâs the matter, dear?â Astarion asks gently, hoping itâs something easily fixable as itâs growing rather late.Â
âWant apple!â
Decades ago, Astarion mightâve rolled his eyesâhe knows exactly which stupid apple the child wants, itâs been haunting him all dayâbut once he started to treat his childrenâs problems as if they were his own, his life has grown somewhat easier.Â
âWhy, letâs get an apple on our way to bed, then. Would that be alright, Your Highness?âÂ
The girl promptly nods her head, allowing Astarion to pat her hair dry before dressing her in a clean night dress.Â
She rests her cheek against her fatherâs shoulder as he carries her first to the kitchen to grab a fragrant apple and a knife, then to her bedroom where they settle on the cosy window seat, just like they do every night.
Soft moonlight is pouring through the windows; the child giggles at the way the knifeâs blade is catching the silver light as Astarion peels and cuts the apple into even pieces.
âHere you go,â he finally says, giving the slice of apple one last examining look before surrendering it to the impatient little hands reaching for it. âA sweet treat for my little sweet. Doesnât it taste so much better when we donât eat it off the floor, darling?â And when itâs not crawling with antsâŚ
The appeased toddler nibbles at the juicy fruit as Astarion carefully combs through her still-damp curls.Â
Her hairâs getting long, he notices, knowing that taking care of it will become more time-consuming each day.Â
Once, Astarion wouldâve thought this task tedious, brushing out hair thatâs not his own, oiling and braiding it for no other reason than knowing his children enjoy him doing it.Â
But thatâs why he loves doing it in the first place, he supposes.
Astarion can tell by his toddlerâs heartbeat that sleep is about to claim her.Â
The half-eaten slice of apple is still clutched in her little fist as he cradles the child to his chest, slowly rising from the window seat to put her to bed.Â
Heâs just about to lay the child down that the fruit drops to the floor, his daughterâs tiny hand clutching at his shirt instead.
âThank you, papa,â she mumbles, more asleep than awake.
Astarion pauses.
He breathes in the clean, yet unique scent of the little girl that is forever engraved in his brain, the same way he knows under which exact constellation she was born. When she took her first steps, what her first word was. Soon, he will have to memorise her favourite colour, and what she likes to eat when dirty apples wonât be that appealing anymore.Â
By now, Astarion knows this game by heart, knows that with every year that passes, he has something new to learn about his children.
And sometimes he wonders what itâs like to grow up with clean bed sheets and full bellies. Sleep filled with naught but warmth and happy memories. Ever open doors and tears that are dried by tender kisses. Living in a house where mistakes and anger are welcomed, safe.Â
He wonders what itâs like for his children to know that their fatherâs love comes without conditions. Not now and not ever.Â
Sitting down on the bed, Astarion holds his youngest a little closer to his chest, unwilling to let go of her, yet.Â
Heâs often accused of spoiling his children when most people can only just grasp the very surface of his love for them, the bare minimum of what he feels for his one and only, precious family.Â
These baseless accusations are as unimportant to Astarion as the people voicing them.
Heâs raising his children to have standards, wants them to take their fatherâs love for granted, to accept nothing less but pure devotion.
Itâs the only way Astarion knows how to love them, the only way that comes most naturally to him.Â
Astarion looks down at his little girl, now fast asleep, a gentle smile tugging at her lips.Â
After all these yearsâall these childrenâheâs still in awe watching them sleep in his arms as if no harm in the world could ever befall them.
And it wonâtânot if Astarion can help it.Â
âNo, thank you, my heart,â he whispers, pressing a kiss against the crown of the toddlerâs head.Â
When it comes to his children, Astarion holds himself to the highest standard.

Thinking about how Telemachus has heard "You are just like your father" by so many people for most of his life. How different yet refreshing it is to hear said father tell him warmly "You're so much like your mother".

đ Ray x GN!Reader, because I have been neglecting my man. sorry sweetie đ
âYouâre being a terrible kidnapper by the way.â
Ray tilts his head idly, a sardonic smiles tilting the left corner of his lips at your words. His smirk is playful and dangerous. Knowing.
You lift your chin in mocking defiance from the couch where heâd placed you. Itâs probably not as intimidating as youâd hoped considering the ropes binding your arms behind your back. Your legs are free, but itâs not like you could go anywhere. Even if you could somehow manage to escape Ray, his lair (âPlease donât call it that, Star.) was located on the topmost floor of the tallest apartment building for miles around.
He leans against the glass window-walls that look down onto an ocean of shimmering city lights. Flashes of purples, reds, and gold are blanketed by a moonlit black velvet. The colours reflect off the edges of his face, sharpening gorgeous features and softening others. A cigarette dangles loosely from between long fingers, trailing an almost invisible thread of smoke up to his lips.
Lips that are now stretched in the most self-satisfied smirk you've ever seen.
âYouâre staring, Star,â Ray taunts. You snap your head to the side, cursing mentally. Youâre hyper-aware of Rayâs tall form as he moves closer, not stopping until heâs standing over your seated form. His free hand reaches up to caress your jaw, knuckles brushing the apples of your cheek. The cigarette is gone, but the scent clings to his skin â somehow warm and enticing â and you canât quite stifle the urge to lean into his touch.
Fingertips trace your skin, rough pads mapping every spot he had claimed and memorized countless times before.
"Explain yourself," he murmurs, tilting your head up so youâre forced to meet those unfathomably dark eyes. "How am I a bad kidnapper, Star?"
You open your mouth to reply, nothing coming to mind for several seconds. It's as if his gaze is a black hole sapping you of your usual sass and wit. "Um, w-well...well what do you think you should do with me?"
Ray kneels in front of you, which does nothing to make you feel any more in control of this situation. Body still tightly bound, you can do nothing other than pout and writhe in place when he leans closer, lips brushing against your heated cheek.
"Oh, that's an easy one," the villain murmurs into your ear before he gently bites your earlobe. You squeak, barely able to hear his next words through the rush of blood in your veins. "Iâd keep you all for myself. Lock you away where no one can find you except me."
Huffing, you manage to regain a bit of your mental faculties and lift your chin with a playful scowl. "Hmph, don't villains usually use traps to keep their victims in place? Iron cages, steel chains, etc.? Come on, Mr. No. 1 Most Wanted Villain, where's the showmanship? Did watching Megamind teach you nothing?!"
A laugh escapes Ray at your demand, a burst of mirth that has you fighting back matching snickers. One hand slides up your arm and, and he pulls you closer until your chest is flush with his. The other grabs you by the waist, tipping you off balance and pinning you to the couch.
"How's this for showmanship, Star?" Ray scoffs as he rakes over your prone form with carnal amusement. His hand leaves your hip, dipping beneath your shirt before tracing upwards and taking the fabric with it. Your nipples pebble in the cool air, vulnerable beneath those void-black eyes.
Youâve gotten a taste of Rayâs possessiveness before â several times in fact â but it never fails to stun you, to send heat rushing between your thighs every time you catch a glimpse of that depthless stare. The lengths heâs gone, that he would go to, for you. Especially after having cast off the NAHAâs paper-thin restrictions.
Fear would be the normal response, the expected emotional outcome. Yet when callused fingers pinch your nipples all you can do is moan.
"So whiny, Star,â Ray coos against your chest, teasing and tasting your buds until theyâre bruised and sore. You scream when his mouth closes over the right one, tongue laving over swollen stiff peaks. âAnd so loud. Is this what you want, hm? You want me to ruin you?"
You canât speak. The only thing that leaves your throat are helpless, wordless sounds. Ray clicks his teeth, and his hand slides up, applying just the slightest bit of pressure on your throat. A warning.
"Whatâs that Star?â The villain queries, voice dripping with false curiosity. âIsnât this what you like? To be helpless under me, in my control. All for my own selfish pleasure? Come on sweetheart, speak up."
âY-You wish!â you kick out your feet, but Ray simply cants his head to the side and catches your flailing ankle. When he wedges himself firmly between your thighs and hooks your legs over his shoulder, you realize what a terrible mistake youâve made.
"You little bratâŚ" Ray pushes your ankle further up on his shoulder, restricting you even more as he smirks down at you with a gentle yet terrifying arrogance. It is the look of a wolf watching a caged rabbit, a predator contemplating what to do with cornered prey. Pressing his taller frame against you, Rayâs free hand moves to your hip where the pointer finger dips past the edge of your underwear. Itâs barely a brush, and yet the sensation makes your head spin. âDo I have to force it out of you, Star?â
You stubbornly bite your bottom lip, and Ray let out a helpless sigh as if to say, you asked for this.
âMmph, R-Ray!â The sound of flesh meeting flesh echoes in the room, desperate screams filling the air as you squirm and struggle to escape the steel-trap of Rayâs arms though you know itâs futile. âP-Please, mâsorryâ!â
âIf youâre so sorry, then stay still,â he grunts, punctuating his words with a harsh thrust, one hard enough to jolt the couch several inches across the floor. Your neck and chest are a canvas of bruises and bite marks. Drool falls from the corner of your lips, filthy and messy. The sight of you underneath him, teary-eyed and begging for mercy, was intoxicating and the ex-hero canât stop the dangerous smile that crosses his face.
Your body convulses as another orgasm shakes through you, the fifth in the past hour, and Ray groans when you squeeze around his cock. He pulls out to admire the sticky mess between your thighs, cum glazing your puffy hole in a lewd display.
Just as youâre catching your breath, Ray pinches your chin and drags your gaze back to meet his. âUh-uh, weâre not done Star,â his grin widens at your stricken expression. âI want a proper apology, sweetheart. Now open your mouth and say ah.â

Keferon. Please read Ninth by Kyn on AO3. I think you would love it very much. It has a large chapter count, but don't be intimidated, it's very easy to get into. It is currently unfinished, but is being updated regularly.
You are the seventh person that recommended this fic to me so ahahahaha yeah
Iâm doing great Help I hate some parts of it but I love the other parts Iâm spinning in the blender
âŚ..I made the moodboardâŚ.
#chapter 37#of 120 or something#I must be like 90k words in haha#large word count is not an intimidation. Itâs an invitation haha#I love the fics that I canât read in just one hour:)#I gotta say I donât enjoy the concept of making robots into organic life#itâs just my preference#seeing them as humans or animals or whatever feels so fucking wrong#the concept itself drives me off#like. Strongly#But at the same time. This fic isnât about them being âhaha cute organicsâ#itâs âoh god. I was turned into something Iâm notâ#instead of teeheee theyâre fluffy#itâs please free me from this fucking nightmare. please let me be myself again.#idk how to explain. I resonate I guess#it often feels very disturbing but the characters are also disturbed#So now Iâm kind of stuck reading this fic because I just canât stop lol#just politely skipping the parts that make me too uncomfortable#also#the body horror isâŚ.damn. Impressive. I didnât expect to read about grotesque fleshy creature turning itself inside out#itâs not even aesthetic or symbolic#it literally looks like a fucking nightmare. Which is impressive also.#the flesh is g r o s s#the beginning got me struggling and skipping#but the intermission is currently ruining my sleep schedule#oh fuckâŚ.I usually send my posts to the authors of the fics I readâŚ..but I feel like I might offend the author of Ninth if do thisâŚâŚ..#thereâs a tiny chance theyâre following meâŚ.if itâs true then I wanna tell Iâm sorry pls donât take this seriously#your fic got me waay out of my comfort zone#huge points for writing Ratchet. Drift in this fic isâŚthe grossest fucking thing I could probably imagine but Ratchet doesnât even hesitate#he helps him and he cares for him. Which isâŚ..imma be real my first instinct would be to set Drift on fire to end his misery

#glenn howerton#guy who should get to dress in drag#im just. ill never be over the fact that glenn wrote Two episodes in season 3 that involve dennis doing drag#i know he doesn't really want to write for the show but there's something so special abt how early sunny was an actor's sandbox#esp hearing glenn talk abt how den is like. an outlet for him and a way to play around with shit he would never do for one reason or anothe#my point being that i think its been a while since he was able to utilize dennis again in that way#but 16 was a definite change. especially with dtamhd it feels like dennis is becoming more glenn again. like he was in the early days#theres a pretty good stretch of the show once it got into the double digits that feels like den was. co-opted.#but like i wonder how it feels to explore sexuality and gender via your character#it must be similar to doing that through fandom and OCs but there's a whole other layer to it here#esp when its not Just being presented as comedic as it was in past seasons. like dennis is Actually queer and this is a normal plot point#its not the punchline like den's femininity often is its literally just part of what makes him able to help mac and dee#id argue we've gotten this in the form of. dennis doing dee's makeup and shit. but#anyway. glenn. now that you have two of your former writing assistants in that writers room i hope you get to do drag again đ#its been 16 years. show us the new and improved victoria.#i honestly can't imagine pitching something like that to a room of people Without some sort of comedic twist but#man.#ada speaks#iasip#it's always sunny in philadelphia#rcg#i won't ever forget the way he lit up talking abt queer dennis jhksvfjhksvdfgjhkds#love u king...... i hope you get something in s17 that you Certainly Don't Mind

What would you all think if I made small mini comics about the skelebros as babybones đđ
Like...I would sometimes upload some pages that are self contained mini comics but there would be multiple parts and they would be different but also kind of linear?(also small effort drawings sjdhwkrj)
How does that sound?
They would be complementary to the main comic hehe you don't have to read them but they might bring some insight about certain stuff and also it would be cute to see them as babybones that's always fun
#I wouldn't update it super often since it would be just a little side thing but...uh.#how does it sound?#I just...I've been writing some little scenes and I kind of want to draw them RIGHT NOW#but...if I were to put flashbacks in the main comic that would be until WAAAAAY later on#so...not right now....

Thinking about Cuddy.
House is a genius. Iâve written about how Wilson is equally talented.
But Cuddy is, too.
One of three(?) female deans of medicine in the country. One of the youngest. And every time the spotlight turns onto her, she does things no one else can do.
She has a kid by herself. Wilson points out that a man in her position would have a wife, two nannies AND two assistants. (She tries to hire an assistant and the job is so demanding they quit regularly.)
She consistently gets things for the hospital no one else can get and is the trump card only she can play. In 5 to 9, she gets (I think) 7%, which is far and away better than her opponent, her board, or anyone else but her thought she could get.
In season 1, iirc itâs implied SHE brings in Vogler, and sheâs the only person who can stop him when he starts tearing the entire hospital apart to get at House.
In season 3, she ends the nonsense with Tritter.
Sheâs also the only person who can and will keep House on her team (no one will hire House or Foreman, other than her). And sheâs the only person who can wrangle him, canonically (I disagree with canon, but Cameron does hand the reigns back to Cuddy with this exact statement). Moreover, she makes House an ASSET. In 5 to 9, she explains that PPTH is on the cutting edge, which includes their world famous ddx department.
And! Despite the fact that House routinely accuses her of being an administrator and not a doctor anymore, she still successfully treats patients from time to time. She helps ddx the babies in Maternity. She saves her patientâs baby in Fetal Position. In s5 Joy, she clocks that something is wrong with the mom when no one else does, and pushes until the diagnosis is made and saves both their lives. She figures out the diagnosis in Joy to the World at the same time as House, and is so kind and respectful to the folks caring for the baby, yet still makes sure she gives the baby what she needs.
I have to admit that I donât remember s7-8 well enough to go through those, but itâs clear to everyone that Cuddy is a great doctor. Much like Wilson, she gets dismissed in part bc she gets too emotionally involved. And itâs also clear that no one really understands her work or how good she is at it. Everyone only sees their part, and she has to see all of it and make it all fit together, making sure everyone gets what they need. Her ability to flip between caring and hardass undermines her ability to seem tough, but itâs also necessary. If she couldnât care, she wouldnât take such good care of her people or patients. If she couldnât toughen up, sheâd let people walk all over her. Itâs a unique style, and not without its pitfalls, but itâs all hers.
And like Wilson, she doesnât get seen as a genius. In fact, she barely gets acknowledged as smart at all. A lot of her successes come from charisma and social intelligence. And those things often get dismissed in women, especially women who care as deeply and obviously as Cuddy does. The ability to juggle so many things gets dismissed as âbasically being well-organized,â and also, no one really SEES what she does. It sometimes takes her a minute, but she reads people like THAT. She figures out and outwits that sociopathic drug dealer. She sees through most of Houseâs lies. She often settles with plaintiffs because of guilt, but she also often talks them out of suing the hospital in the first place.
Cuddy is just as good, and just as brilliant, at her job as House and Wilson. But she doesnât get seen as a genius anymore than Wilson does.
#this isnât quite as good as the Wilson one#but I got really tired of Cuddy not being included in thinkpieces#I too love hearing about how awesome she is#but I think we can go further with this one guys#the narrative doesnât center on her#and often her story centers on House instead of her#but Cuddy is brilliant and richly developed too#and although I admit I donât understand her quite as well#Iâm gonna do my darndest to center things more on cuddy#lisa cuddy#house md#meta#bees meta#bee writes meta#my meta
