1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?

Honestly- and this PAAAAAAINS to me to say since my middle-school self would be furious at me-but probably Troyella. Obviously, still love them. Still think of them fondly, but compared to other ships, they're on the lower end.

2. Which ship would you consider your first one?

I'm TEMPTED to say troyella again since they were the ship that made me realize what shipping was- and how hard it can go for a fangirl. But in terms of a ship you remember watching, loving, and loving seeing their interactions, that would have to be Tom and Kimberly from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Their chemistry, their moments were the reason why I loved the show so much

I didn't know what ship or OTP meant, but they were the definitely the first couple I remembered LOVING seeing them together

3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?

That would be Troy & Gabriella. The movie wasn't enough for me, so I decided to make more stories on them

4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?

That would be a tie between InuKag and Robstar. Those were the top 2 ships I remember seeing TONS of Youtube videos and fanart in middle school.

5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?

*thinks hard* I want to say....no. Least I can't remember. I just chill in my little corner with my friends, gushing & reading fics of our ships

6. Did you used to have any no-otp or have it currently?

The way I DESPISED LOATHED AND HATED TROYPAY with a burning, burning deep passion. Couldn't stand the ship. Still don't like the ship. And obviously, Tommy x Kat because NO NO NO NO

7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?

Payurain in this WIP I'm really enjoying. Seriously, love these two boys

8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?

Oh dear lord, my OTPS literally have their yachts at this point. And the list of the top ones constantly switch, but at the moment I can say my top 6 include: drarry, zutara, sheith, tododeku, payurain, and of course dickkory

9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?

Oh. Dear. Lord. The way at least several ships can fit this question, but that belongs to my top 3 ships that were done so dirty.

OBVIOUSLY-and forever fuming about it-THESE TWO:

Forever and ALWAYS THESE TWO that had everything. The history, the chemistry, best friends to lovers, ride or die, battle couple...and yet the writers were like, nah

TO INFINITY & BEYOND BEYOND BEYOND: DRARRY . You can't tell me NOTHING. If Harry was a girl, they would have been endgame. If Draco was a girl, they definitely would have gotten together. I will forever stand on this hill

10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?

I wouldn't dislike at all, but I can definitely say after the previous season, they got more on my radar and that would be Geto x Gojo. I've always been intrigued by their dynamic, but season 2 really showed so much depth in their relationship, their friendship, and how things went wrong. Just so well done and also extremely heartbreaking

11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, was considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?

Maybe.....Honestly, I can't think of one. Like none are coming to my head. Closest one I can think of would be Alison x Emily or Spencer x Toby. The former because the toxicity of the ship, the way Ali manipulated and gaslight Emily's emotions was fucked up. Just as Toby letting Spencer think he was dead, let her think she found his corpse, and watch her break down...only to give a half-ass apology.

12. What was your favorite crack ship?

Honstly, Kyo x Arisa from Fruit Baskets- and that is solely because watching the way Arisa constantly rifled Kyo up was too damn hilarious.

13. Who is the couple you read more fanfics off?

Hands down, that would have to be drarry

14. What most of your ships usually have in common?

Probably two sides of the same coin. Different in many ways but similar in others. With drarry, both being just a boy in time of war. For zutara, the sun and the moon. Grump x Sunshine, which is a similar dynamic for many of my ships.

15. What you absolutely hate in a ship?

Hands down, the quickest way for me to hate a ship is the following: A always loving B, B being OBLIVIOUS to A's affections even though the whole country is aware of it, and then when A finally moves on THAT'S WHEN B suddenly realizes OH MY GOSH I LOVE THEM. 🤢🤮🤬😡 I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Also, if the dynamic of the ship is unequal such as bully and bullied, in which the bully spends 90% of them torturing the love interest and then final 10% actually showing some care...NOPE. NOPE. NOPE.

The (Third) Worst Year hit 500 kudos today!

It’s my second fic to ever get 500 kudos so I just wanted to say thank you so much for all that read and loved it! It was super fun to write and my first long-Drarry fic ever. Also thank you to @ellamcsmellbella who did an AMAZING podfic for it if you ever want to check that out too! Here’s a sample from one of my favorite moments...

JUST PAST MIDNIGHT

Actually, it was twenty-three midnight if you wanted to be exact. Surely that was an acceptable time to leave. It was a weeknight after all. Still, Draco chose to pull an Irish goodbye and leave out the back exit without anyone seeing. He had spent the majority of his time drinking with Theo, chatting with some of the Gryffindors including a very heated conversation with Weasley about Quidditch, and none of it dancing.

Occasionally he spoke with Potter when the brunette came by the table for a drink or to escape Granger’s grasp, but definitely not enough to appease Theo’s glaring eye. Which is why he was escaping while Theo was distracted by Lovegood’s hips pressed to his on the dancefloor.

The night air hit him instantly, cool and welcoming. Its crispness was an instant slap in the face alerting him to how much he drank. He wasn’t drunk, but he could feel the liquor on his cheeks and his perfect white teeth were numb. Okay, maybe he was a touch drunk, but just a touch.

He took another step and found just around the corner of the door, Potter sitting atop a short brick wall, cigarette in hand, looking up at the stars. The constellations reflected in his glasses, making his eyes sparkle in the way that always made Draco breathless.

“I didn’t know you smoked, Potter,” Draco drawled. He should have walked away, he should have just left the man alone, but the liquor didn’t let him. His decade and a half crush pushed him to walk over and sit right next down to his once enemy.

“I don’t,” he chuckled, but that damn blush crept upward. It made Draco want to put his mouth on the tanned skin of Potter’s clavicle. He regarded the cigarette in his hand and shrugged. “Well, only when I drink. And sometimes when I’m stressed. And sometimes just when I want to? Please don’t tell Hermione. It’s a clove if that helps.”

“I’m not sure that’s any better,” Draco chuckled.

“You’re probably right but,” Potter shrugged and took another drag. Draco watched as the other man took a drag and then plucked the clove cigarette from between his fingers and brought it to his own lips. The smoke slightly burned his insides. He knew better to inhale, it was not his first cigarette, but the dim fire in his lungs reminded him of his future.

The sweet taste of the clove lingered on his lips, causing him to lick them softly. When he looked up, he noticed Potter staring.

“You can call me Harry, you know,” he whispered like it was a secret between them. His eyes twinkled.

Draco chuckled and nodded softly, whispering in return, “I know.”

“Then why don’t you?” Potter asked innocently. Draco looked up, the green connecting once again with silver, pure and pleading, sincere and drunk.

“It makes it easier to ignore,” Draco said, biting his lip. He could feel the cigarette start to burn his fingers, but he also couldn’t look away from the man in front of him.

Potter’s brow furrowed a bit. “Ignore what?”

“How much I like you,” Draco whispered, biting his lip as the tingle of whisky and feelings took over.

Draco headcanon time!

This is long, buckle up

Ok so this is post war and Draco was exonerated to an extent but he had to pay some hefty fines(but you know the Malfoy coffers are bottomless so it was ok) and also had to spend one month in Azkaban.

Narcissa Malfoy had to serve two years in Azkaban while Lucious was serving 50.

Draco is in the Manor but it's pretty lonely because he's not welcome in Diagon Alley and stuff like that so he is all alone and he doesn't know what to do because for the first time he has nobody telling him what to do.

His Slytherin 'friends' also are busy because they have to build up their individual reputations and hanging around a Malfoy isn't recommended.

So he ventures out into the Muggle world (because it's not like he had anything better to do) and he freaks out at first.

On the first day, he could barely spend an hour in the in the streets of London; but he persists and eventually after a month he is able to spend time in Muggle restaurants and cafes and engaging in some small talk with the people.

One day he is roaming about and enters a gadget shop, (he has a debit card now ok!) where he buys his very first smartphone(let's just fast forward and say this is around 2018 cause so many things weren't there in 1999) and a laptop.

The shopkeeper was around his age and baffled that this person was completely oblivious of technology. But he is a decent sort and helped him set it up and showed him some popular essential things like fb, insta, google.

Draco went to a library and read a lot about history of technology and other important stuff and was thinking about enrolling for some basic highschool level classes for fun (also because he was pretty sure that he won't get a job in the wizarding friend).

But he was still upset that he couldn't get internet and wifi in his manor... but then he researched and researched and found a solution!

And now he has internet at the manor, but he is still lonely and depressed. So he googles all sorts of things.

He starts all these movies and TV series' and reads novels and tries all sorts of different food and even buys makeup products.

Because we all know that Draco's such a big gossip and this social recluse lifestyle isn't helping at all.

So he starts recording videos about him trying all these new things and his reaction and basically just his daily life and it keeps him motivated to keep getting out of bed. And he's getting decent in editing and stuff so his videos are pretty great.

He starts 'saving' them on youtube... but get this, he has no idea that he is uploading them and other people all over can see his vids (yeah yeah, just roll with it)

Basically he's account is all sort of things from reviews on food, movies to straight up makeup tutorials and reviews. His personal style has improved a lot, and his blond hair is fluffy and flying all over in a pleasant tousled way. He has like 'winter skin care routine' and 'how to style for sweaters this winter' type videos. He also has like scathing dramatic jefferey star level videos.

He pretty much trending and has like 4,00,000 subscribes and my oblivious Draco has no idea.

Okay this is endgame drarry but i'm very sleepy and maybe I'll continue later so bye bye

“In society,” Kavika said. “Not in your heart. You don’t have to learn to love Draco Malfoy, Harry. You don’t even have to accept the new person that he is.”

This rec has been sitting in my drafts for the longest time - I had made my peace with never posting it despite spending hours searching for a decent tree pic because I struggled so much trying to write something coherent and concise that could adequately convey just how important this story is to me. Eventually I accepted that I’d never make it justice and left it at that, until I finally interacted with Lettered for the first time this week and she mentioned that sometimes, like all of us, she also struggles with confidence. Reading that made me realize that nothing could ever be more “adequate” than just… putting my feelings out there. It doesn’t have to be perfect or particularly well-written, just real. It’s funny to realize that I’ve written so many recs at this point and yet the thought of being perceived still scares me to hell 🤡 so here’s my humble and tentative rec, self-aware and imperfect but coming from the deepest part of my heart. Special thanks to @tackytigerfic for being the best wingman and looking this over!

What to say, where to start? I haven’t felt as overwhelmed after finishing a fic since Far From The Tree and I’ve been trying to collect my thoughts about this all-encompassing fic into something (hopefully) coherent, concise and mildly adequate for months. I see now it’s impossible to find the right words but I never erased this draft and I really like that banner so here we go, inadequate, all-over-the-place kind of rec and all. BtG has changed me forever. I began reading it in early 2020 when the first chapter was published; it was the second WIP I decided to jump into after Bixgirl’s In the Dark and it was before I created the blog, which now feels like a lifetime ago. I don’t remember much besides being immediately intrigued by the unique tone and by Draco’s unusual voice, so completely different from anything I’ve read before or since, including other Lettered fics that I adore. Even through Harry’s skeptical, wary eyes, I found this aloof and earnest Draco absolutely captivating, pitiful and complex but fierce; a puzzle begging to be figured out not only by Harry, but by us, the readers. He was the first reason that made me fall in love with this fic.

The second was Harry’s journey (boy, do I love myself character-driven stories!). His introspective POV makes for such a powerful narrative voice, naturally biased and unreliable but incredibly compelling and relatable. His strength and vulnerabilities create a fascinating character who’s both inspiring and flawed, and therefore very real. It’s so wonderful to watch Draco develop over the years, both as a student and as a person, through his eyes - sometimes it feels like we’ll never grasp Draco’s true essence but that’s because we’re actually learning Harry through him, not the other way around. I found myself particularly invested in his side relationships: his commitment to teaching, the way he challenges his colleagues and superiors, the camaraderie and comfort he searches in Ron and Hermione, his achingly tender devotion to Teddy (who, by the way, is just as perfect in this fic as he’ll ever get), his growing generosity towards Draco despite not loving him back — yet.

This fic is a Drarry triumph and one of the most intimate, nuanced, sensitive and emotionally satisfying rides I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience in these 20 years of fandom. In my humble opinion this might be Lettered’s very best work - or at the very least the most challenging - among a collection of already excellent classics. The contemplative tone brings a subtle and original layer to these characters and a complex yet exciting political discussion that doesn’t take anything away from the character development, nor from the slow (and I mean, veeery slow) burn. As it should be, it takes years of therapy (and I cannot stress enough the importance given to therapy in this fic, it’s so refreshing to see!), growth and self-awareness to get to the romance. Long before being a love story, this is mostly a poignant and breathtaking tale of healing, understanding, hope and self-forgiveness. Here love is generous and resilient, and an active choice instead of something disorienting, ruining, inevitable. This love brings edification instead of tragedy, and self-forgiveness instead of redemption. It’s the love story of a lifetime, impossible to comprehend or recreate, and when you’re finished you finally realize that every little thing happened exactly the way it was supposed to be.

It took me over a year to put my thoughts into words that still don’t feel adequate or enough, but as I said before this is me trying to establish a new rapport with my reccing and this might as well be an exercise in embracing the feels and letting go of perfectionism. Dear Lettered, I know this fic was an immense challenge for you and it might not have happened the way you expected or envisioned at first. But please know that somewhere out there, at least one person still thinks daily about the line “Have I taught you, then, to want things for yourself?”, someone who found this story deeply cathartic, transformative and thought-provoking, someone who’s incredibly grateful that you decided to tell it and share with the rest of us. Thank you 💜

On the 9th day the sad fangirl wrote a sad fic - Stucky -Endgame Compliant

It’s been 9 days since I’ve seen Endgame and I needed some catharsis because I keep crying over the tragedy that is Bucky Barnes. I might slam this on AO3 later as I have some ideas about actually making a Fix-It fic out of this, but I don’t have time for that rn. (also I stole some lines from my own drarry fic).

Inspired partially by Paloma Faith’s song Only Love Can Hurt Like This

Endgame Compliant, Angst, Bucky Barnes deserved better, Unrequited Love, I cried.

You know, for the longest time, I wasn’t even sure it was true. For the longest time, I told myself knowing every quirk of your best friend’s lips was normal, that knowing every wrinkle around your eyes, every wink, every smile, every shrug was normal. And maybe it was. Maybe it is.

What wasn’t normal was how I appreciated it. How, when you rolled your eyes at one of my stupid jokes, I wanted to kiss you. How one time I did. How you let me. Not because you particularly wanted to kiss me, I imagine. Must have been I was just persistent enough to convince you.

“Wanna know what it’s like?” I asked. A throwaway comment, leisurely, casually pronounced.

I’d been planning it for weeks.

“You know I wanna know what it’s like, Buck,” you said, probably tired of my endless exploits with the Brooklyn dames I always insisted on telling you about. You can’t blame me for that. It made you blush. You’ve always looked so beautiful all flustered.

“I could show you,” I said, the smallest feeling of dread prickling in my stomach. It intensified when your eyes flew to mine, shocked, big, your eyebrows up under your fringe.

“You’re not a dame, Buck,” you told me slowly, looking closely at my face, searching. I’ve always been a good actor, so I don’t think you noticed, but I had to fight so hard not to squirm.

“‘S no difference, is it? Everyone’s got lips.”

I lied. It would have been different for you, I had some stubble going on at the time already. You didn’t. Face still smooth as a dame’s. Wouldn’t have minded if you’d had a beard though either. Don’t think these things ever mattered where you were concerned. “I’ll pout my lips some more for you. Look, do I not look like a gorgeous lady?”

You rolled your eyes, smiling.

So I kissed you. Just like that. Think I missed the mark a bit and hit the corner of your mouth first. You have to forgive me, I was nervous. Besides, I did always love that corner so much. Always loved how when you fought down a grin it was that corner of your lips that betrayed you. Maybe I missed your mouth on purpose, who knows.

It’s blurry, that memory. All the memories from before are. Brooklyn, Ma, my sisters. I can’t even recall their faces, did I ever tell you that? But I remember yours. When you were still small, your face much thinner, ending in a pointy rebellious chin. The freckles on your cucumber nose. You hated them, wanted them gone. And they are gone now. Disappeared as soon as you got bigger. Well, I still know every single one of them. I could run my fingers across your face, now still, tracing the aimless zig-zag line they made.

How could I have ever fucking doubted it was true.

If it weren’t would it hurt this much? Would my soul be drowning in a chasm of pain? Would my heart be hammering itself into shards of glass?

No. Only love can hurt like this.

You’re leaving now. For a long, long time. You’ll be back in five seconds, yes. But for you a lifetime will have passed. You think it won’t for me, but I already feel like I’ve aged a hundred years just seeing you step on that podium. You’ll come back, old and close to death. But here I am, dying right before your eyes and you don’t even notice.

Should I have told you? Would it have made a difference? They say love wins every time, but I never wanted love to be a fight. I don’t think love wins anything. I think love just is. Sometimes it warms you, it caresses you, it takes you high, like a drug, and sometimes it hurts.

I’ve been hurting for so long, Steve. God, I’ve been hurting for so, so fucking long.

And I wasn’t even sure. I wasn’t even sure it was true. But I know now. Now that Bruce is counting down the seconds and with every thump my heart shreds itself to pieces with missing you.

Only love can make your chest collapse, deflate completely, suffocating you with pain, until you’re unable to take another breath. Only love can make your eyes sting hot and cold at once. Sting as if whipped by a freezing wind in a flaming room.

I hope you never know how it feels, Steve. I hope you never have the chance to find out.

But I tell you, if I’ve ever thought it wasn’t true, there’s not a shred of doubt in my mind anymore. I know ‘cause only love can hurt like this.

I had a lot of problems w loto too what were urs??

firstly, thank you for letting me know that i’m not alone in how i feel about loto because it seems to me that most of the rest of the fandom adores it and i liked it i guess? not as much as i love simon vs but enough to not say i absolutely hated it. secondly, these opinions i’m gonna share might be a little summarised/simplified for convenience’s sake

before i start digging into what i didn’t like, let’s start with the pros:

first and foremost, i really liked the idea of visiting the simonverse again, especially since the last book had been so good and personally meant alot to me and i was excited to see these characters in the pages again! (extra excited after seeing them grace the screens)

general excitedness aside, i loved garrett so much! i think he is hilarious and i loved that we got to see more of him and how he kind of fit himself in with the squad (he is my Angel Bro and deserves the world)

SPIERFELD!!!!! i loved seeing more simon/bram interactions and that promposal! wow i love them so much

i liked the way that morgan’s racism was handled. it was handled well and not shoehorned in to seem Progressive

as a subpoint(?) to morgan thing, i loved that there was just this acknowledgement of the entire squad’s nerdiness. you think they’re that group of kids who hang out together just because? lol no they’re all major nerds and that’s why

leah’s experience with finding a prom dress was so relatable; especially the part where she keeps struggling to find one that fits and suits her. i went through the same struggles finding a dress for my secondary school prom and it was so accurate i loved it.

now for the cons:

most of my issue with loto can be easily boiled down into a few reasons. namely, leah’s characterisation herself, the assassination of nick’s character, the way bisexuality was approached by the characters and the whole cal/nora thing

leah’s characterisation: i know she is one of the most popular simonverse characters, but leah isn’t really all that imho? i feel like she is a caricature of what people perceive a fangirl to be, from the m/m shipping, to the active fandom participation and the love for anime among other things. and another thing; i get that she has issues with bottling up her problems and communication, and that is fine and completely normal, but it just culminates in a rally ugly jealous and possessive streak when it comes to her friends. evidence? see: her feelings towards simon coming to abby, nick and abby taking simon to midtown, simon spending time with a friend who is Not Her. she is also really mean at times and i don’t get it? why are you so mean, especially to your friends?? why leah? and why can’t you accept that simon felt more comfortable coming out to abby first than you? are you not bisexual? or even if this wasn’t established in simon vs, you’d think her extensive fandom knowledge and knowledge of gay relationships (that granted, comes from fandom which is sorely missing in nuance when handling lgbt issues at times, but certainly has How to React When Your Friend Is Coming Out 101 down pat) would be of some help? coming out was simon’s thing and i don’t think it’s fair to do that to your best friend, regardless of how you feel about the person he came out to. also she ships drarry and that is a no-go for me just saying why would you ship drarry when deamus exists????

the assassination of nick’s character: now, this one goes hand in hand with how by breaking up nick and abby, nick gets character assassinated and the whole leah/abby thing seems more and more like fanservice. first off, nick and taylor metternich???? he doesn’t even break up with abby for an extended period of time before he attempts to move on? are you sure?? he was all for abby up until the very moment they break up and then he drops her for taylor? i’m not saying that leah shouldn’t have been with abby, more like, nick doesn’t/didn’t have to be paired off with someone else to give him a happy ending. you don’t need a romantic partner to be happy, and with nick, this message could have been conveyed in a beautiful way. also, nick and abby are pretty much head-over-heels in simon vs and for abby to suddenly have a change of heart and fall in love with leah doesn’t make sense to me. maybe that’s just me, idk. in conclusion, taylor and nick was so unnecessary and just made the leah/abby endgame seem very fanservice-y and shat all over nick’s character in the process.

the way the characters approached bisexuality: i felt that the way abby approached her sexuality, while normal was still rather upsetting, specifically the ‘lowkey bi’ thing. i felt that this is something i personally have heard straight people, specifically straight women say, when they find other women even moderately attractive and yet shun the idea of two women in a loving and committed relationship. you can be like figuring yourself out and trying to find your label (and you don’t even need one) but the ‘lowkey bi’ just sounds like a classic case of straight women with one (1) #wcw they would ‘totally date if like they had no choice!!11!!1!’ i know that this isn’t the case with abby, i know she isn’t straight and that is totally fine and cool and really awesome! i love it! but i think it could have been addressed in a better way, especially since many bi woc, particularly black bi women, were looking to abby as representation. it also seemed rather incongruent with abby’s characterisation to me. again, it could just be me, but this is something that just rubbed me the wrong way. (don’t worry, i still love abby and adore her with my whole heart!)

the whole cal/nora debacle: this to me was really sketchy because cal used to have a crush on simon and asked him out in simon vs, but got rejected. we also know that nora and simon (book!simon at least) look really alike. it just rubs me the wrong way that cal gets together with nora, simon’s younger sister who looks really alike to her older brother, who cal had a crush on. does that not seem very sketchy and shady and not very good? or healthy? just me?

okay also last point but more of an unpopular opinion that you might not agree with but i felt that the leah/abby relationship was super fanservice-y. i know i briefly touched on this in the second point but i just… why did you need to break nick and abby up in senior year to give leah a gf? it doesn’t make sense to me. we could have had a new character or brought another of the supporting girls like anna or even taylor be leah’s love interest. i know that based on canon, abby and nick might not have survived through college realistically, because long distance relationships are tough, but the hope of ending your last year of school in love, with your friends, finally yourself seems to be an ending with a more bittersweet feeling as college draws near and time together runs out than awkward relationship drama at prom and tension everywhere. i know that it isn’t as realistic, but i think that the characters, having been through what they have, deserve a happily ever after. i think it also is a powerful message to teenagers that yeah, high school is rough and things get dramatic and confusing, but there are people who care for you and will be there for you and stand with you and these friends will quite literally change your life. i just want some happy endings for these kids okay? sue me, i’m a little bit of a romantic.

I MEAN i’m a luna lovegood man i relate to her so much because i was always the odd person ever since i was a child... i wanted so desperately to believe in something that no one else could see or know, and i have always loved magic and the supernatural so much... that said one big reason why i’m a ron man is that i also relate to that feel when low self esteem and always feeling out of place and awkward.

eeeehhh if we wanna go #deep i used to be a huge fan of tonks when she was first introduced. i HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE what jkr has done to her, she wasted her character potential so much, if you like the remus/tonks storyline you do you but personally i just felt bitter and really pissed off about it and about jkr fitting every and any female character in her stupid books into a “wife and mother endgame” storyline but that’s none of my biz

cho chang because i always thought the romantic subplot in gof/ootp was TERRIBLE and terribly executed, AND now that i am an Adult i still think her plot was terrible HOWEVER i can see the depth in her character and i believe she deserved so much more than the shallow teenage crush/love interest role that jkr gave her. i still think harry/cho endgame would have been a much, much more interesting choice than harry/ginny endgame which was an even worse and more rushed romance subplot. at least would’ve given us a chance to know more about cho’s personality, passions, struggles, seeing a couple of teenagers OVERCOME something like the death of a dear friend instead of sweeping it under the rug or reaching a breaking point but wyd. Anyway cho chang deserved better 2k18

Fics I Read While On Vacation 2.0!

Last month I went on a trip to Italy, and you know what that means... I downloaded a ton of long fics to keep me sane on the long plane/train journeys, and now I’m sharing a few of my faves with you guys! Pro tip for travelers: DO THIS! When you do’t have reliable wifi, and don’t want to pay for the in-flight wifi, downloading a PDF (or ten) from AO3 is the way to go. Their easy system is one of my favorite features of the site, and has multiple downloading formats other than PDF, too. Plus, they include links back to the work in the PDF so you can go back and comment when you do have wifi! Which you should always do, because authors are a gift, and giving kudos and love in the form of comments in return is a wonderful thing.

This time it’s mainly stevetony, with a few phlint, a cherik series, and one reaper76 (r76) for good measure. And guys. The stony and phlint especially...oh my god. Even when Phil and Clint aren’t the mains, I’m screaming about them. For whatever reason, the Marvel stuff I read his time blew me away, to the point where I’m still thinking about some of the stories, despite it being nearly a month since I got back to the states. One fic genuinely changed me, and I never thought I’d say that without a hint of sarcasm, but here we are.

Tony gets into fights with Steve all the time and it's driving him insane. Sure, he's not the nicest guy in the world, but all he did was steal a little of the guy's sesame seed bagel - he didn't deserve to get yelled at for something stupid like that.

After drowning his sorrows in hot chocolate and complaining to Pepper about what happened, Tony gets a phone call from Natasha telling him to hurry back home. Something's happened - Steve has been attacked and he's not quite the same man he once was - he's been turned into a child.

With Steve out of commission, the team struggles with what to do and Tony finds himself filling roles he had never expected: babysitter and friend.

THIS is the fic I mentioned in a textpost pretty much immediately after I finished reading. I couldn’t wait for this rec list. My dear friends, this fic gave me a crisis of faith. That’s a tad dramatic, you say? This fic had me rooting for Bucky Barnes and Tony Stark. Winteriron. Yeah. Bucky has an unrequited crush on Tony, and he killed me with it.

Don’t get me wrong, the stevetony here is endgame, and it’s beautiful, but wow. Like. I’m not one to multipship people often - especially not with my top otps - and stony is an og pair of mine. Something about this Tony and this Bucky just...fit? I mean...I think I get it, now. I can see it. You guys win.

I’m still recing this as stevetony, but I had to mention it becasue I’m still in shock weeks after finishing this, and it’s stuck with me. Tony is a character near and dear to my heart, and the story is told from his POV in a way that felt a bit different from the norm to me, and I dig it. Don’t be put off by the child!Steve thing, it’s not forever and it is handled really well in the story. No child sexual/romantic/abuse situations occur. Personally, I would not rec that kind of story.

Falling Into You by sabrecmc Words: 53k+ Rating: M

Tony and Steve end up as fuck buddies after the events of The Winter Soldier until Steve calls it off. When Loki's spell wipes all of Steve's memories since the last time Loki was in town, Tony decides it will be so much easier to just not tell Steve they had something of a relationship. Spoiler: It isn't.

Or, how Steve fell in love with Tony and forgot about it, and how Tony fell in love with Steve and realized it.

Sometimes, you read a fic that is infuriating, heartbreaking, and sweet all at once, in almost every paragraph (at least for the first three quarters of the story). Tony is at his oblivious, slightly self-destructive best here, and you just want to shake the man, sometimes. Not to worry, I also wanted to shake Steve. It’s equal opportunity obliviousness in this one. The story is told with flashbacks to Tony’s memories of their “fuck buddy” relationship as he remembers them while the present mind-wiped-Steve situation is happening. It was done in a way that felt familiar without feeling redundant, the way this trope sometimes does for me. The ending is so worth it, and melted my heart.

A Higher Form of War by sabrecmc Words: 292k+ Rating: M

Tony is a King with a surprising number of people out to kill him. Steve and the rest of the Avengers are fighting for Pierce's rebellion and end up with Tony as their prisoner. Oops.

Basically one of those bodice-ripping romance novels I don't read (ahem) but with far more gay.

Speaking of melting my heart, this fic obliterated it. When I say Slow Burn, I mean it. Oh my sweet lord, do I ever. But you NEED this one if Stevetony is your thing, trust me. It’s AU in the best ways, and uses so much from the first Iron Man movie, as well as the Captain America movies and general MCU. Steve and Tony are painfully true to their characters at times, which brings both the good pain and the bad pain, the way you know you love. Fluff and plenty of angst, along with gorgeous tension and resolutions, and can I just have more of this world? Please? Forever? What is the team up to now? How is everyone? We got two novels worth of story, and I still want more of this universe!

The phlint really is blink-and-you-miss-it, but I am a sucker for the little nods and they made me happy. Also, there are the beginnings of Bucky and Tony being good friends, and I am so here for that friendship right now.

Deep in the Heart of Me by Finely Honed (jaqen_hgar) Words: 257k+ Rating: E

There were days when the realization that he was someone’s father made Steve's head hurt, but mostly he was grateful that he could trust his instincts, because apparently Peter was what had been missing from his life. Yes, he still had lingering, unresolved issues from his time in the Army, and sure, he had what Bucky annoyingly referred to as a criminally untapped ass, and no life outside of work and Peter, but Steve was okay with how his life had turned out because of trusting his instincts.

Unfortunately, those same instincts had straight up betrayed him by going absolutely haywire upon being exposed to Tony Stark.

Veteran single dad Steve runs a tattoo shop. For his 40th birthday, Pepper arranges for Tony to get that tattoo he always wanted, and he winds up with the mother of all crushes instead. Jumping out of airplanes is one thing, but falling in love is something else entirely. Steve struggles with the idea of actually letting someone into his life. Tony is left trying to keep his heart from being broken while Steve figures things out.

I have been holding off on this story for a long time. Something about Steve being the adoptive dad to Peter had me skeptical, and the heavy mental health aspects were not something I was eager to deal with when I first saw it.

That being said, I am so glad I read this. Getting real for a sec, I signed up for a mental health counselling consultation after finishing this. I connected so thoroughly with Steve and his experiences, and of course with Tony, too. But Steve’s journey through this story is honestly on a completely different level of fiction for me. Its heartbreakingly real, and downright visceral at times in the descriptions of how Steve feels, as well as how Tony feels, being in love with a person struggling with mental illness.

I cannot recommend it enough.

Aside from that, the love story between Steve and Tony blew me away, and I fell so in love with their love, it killed me. The ending is beautiful, and Peter is such a wonderful part of it. The family dynamics surprised me with how much I loved them too, with all of Steve and Bucky’s dads, and Clint and Nat being a part of their squad in the military, it fit perfectly in the story. Also: Let Tony Be A Good Father Figure 2k18 is my new crusade.

(I even grew to like Clint/Bucky in this. Phil is kind of in the world? Not a part of the main crew, but he cameos, and that was nice. Maybe that’s how I rationalized it in the beginning: Clint doesn’t know Phil, it’s fine! I like Clint and Bucky individually so much that it worked for me.)

Holding Out For A Hero by Wordsplat Words: 100k+ Rating: T (yeah, I know, cue the comical surprise that one of these is rated Teen and Up)

When Tony was a prince and Steve was his manservant, they were young and reckless and hopelessly in love. But an attack on Tony's life convinces Steve that he can't protect Tony, so he leaves in the dead of night to train until he can. Ten years later, Steve returns to the kingdom a strong and able knight, but his king is both furious and broken-hearted.

One of my favorite things is when I get to be unreservedly on Tony’s side when he fights with Steve. Steve’s reasoning is understandable for his character, sure, but BOY. Plus, Tony has the Avengers backing him up too, and I live for the team supporting Tony. In the MCU right now, the team is basically all for Cap, but the lack of multiple, meaningful, interpersonal connections from the team to Tony in those movies is a rant for another day.

Again, this is another story where the supporting cast has my heart. I also adored the knights being made up of the Avengers, and Bruce’s role, which kicked ass and made me happy. But, this story focuses primarily on Steve/Tony, and their relationship just kills me with how sweet/painful it is in turns. The fluff to angst ratio is spot on.

AND: Tony is a good dad! (LTBAGFF 2k18)

I love their love.

He’s The Captain?

This was not good. This was so not good.

There were theories of course, of what The Captain would look like. Most followed the typical Hollywoodesque belief that he was some version of the Godfather, sitting in a dark room with a cigar, commanding his forces with a flick of his wrist. There were even some that even thought that The Captain was not one person, but a whole network of people with eyes and ears everywhere.

The blonde Adonis in front of him was definitely not what Tony was expecting.

Of course, in the end it didn’t matter.

There was a reason no one knew what The Captain looked like.

Because anyone who saw his face never lived to tell the tale.

This is not a finished story, and I am perpetually on the edge of my seat waiting for the next update. I’ve rec’ed cherik Mob/Mafia AUs before, but I’ve never read one with steve/tony and the avengers. I’ll admit, Steve as a mob boss? I was skeptical about how well I’d vibe with it.

Now? Holy shit, friends, I’m living for it. The aspects of Steve’s character that the author explores are everything I didn’t know I needed. Likewise with Tony, but I’m emphasizing Steve becasue it’s so unlike the usual representation Steve gets in fandom.

Apparently the running theme of this rec list is stories where the team is amazing and important to the story, becasue it’s true here, too. They’re Steve’s crew, becasue naturally. I adore the dynamics between everyone, especially when Tony starts to interact with them on the regular.

But guys. The phlint in this hit me in the feels so hard, I didn’t see it coming until I was ready to tear up. The writing is so good, I forgot a key aspect of Phil’s arc in the MCU for a split second and I was distraught. Clint has POV chapters (Phil also had one very recently, but I think Clint has more content overall), and so you get into their relationship and all the emotions Clint’s going through, and and I won’t say more becasue you need to read this one, even if you’re just in it for the phlint.

I know I’m a massive sucker for Clint, and love him wherever he shows up, but this time I’m genuinely impressed. The tags have it as minor/background, but it punched me in the chest like it was the main pair.

Of course, the steve/tony is amazing and addictive, but I had to scream about Clint and Phil for a sec.

Phlint

First Impressions by raiining Words: 76k+ Rating: M

Mr. Clint Barton does not like Mr. Phil Coulson. The feeling is not as mutual as he had thought.

A Pride & Prejudice AU.

So, I will be the first to admit that I have a serious affinity for Austen retellings in fanfic. The only downside with is that I tend to be overly picky about them, to the point where I check out fast if something bugs me, even if literately no one else would be bothered, much less notice it in the first place.

This AU fed my Austen-loving soul and gave me every Phlint thing I’ve ever wanted in an AU like this. Clint’s perspective here is spot-on, and his relationships with Nat and Tony were awesome to read. Not to mention that the author filled character roles perfectly? People were chosen that I wouldn’t have expected but as I was reading I was so on board at every turn, like, yes, of course, this is exactly it! They also twisted the classic P&P story and made it their own, making it fit and make sense for the characters above all, which I absolutely loved. Bookmarked for life. Probably will end up rec’ing this forever.

Phil just breaks my heart, and so does Clint, and I have way too much love for this fic, go read it right now!

And Eternity in an Hour by Selenay Words: 60k+ Rating: E

He comes from a secret place, far below the city streets, hiding his face from strangers, safe from hate and harm. He brought me there to save my life...and now, wherever I go, he is with me, in spirit. For we have a bond stronger than friendship or love. And although we cannot be together, we will never, ever be apart.

As Phil heals, he learns that Clint is part of a community hidden below the city, where people who don't fit into the world above can live in safety. In time, Phil has to return home, but he vows to change his life and find a happier, better future.

Phil and Clint believe their time together is over, but they are destined to meet again when their worlds begin to collide.

A Beauty and the Beast (TV, 1987) fusion fic.

I’ll be honest, this show was before my time, and while my mom loved it and I know the basics of the story through her, I’ve never actually seen it. That being said...hell yes. I was hesitant, because Clint is right next to Tony for Marvel characters that I hold really close to the chest, and making him a “monster” had me cautious in the beginning. Fuzz, claws, really? Yes. If you’re thinking like me, go for it anyway! This story won me over so quickly, I don’t think I even knew it was happening - suddenly I was hooked.

It’s alternating POV, with a bit more of Phil, I think, since he’s the character we relate to more, being the outsider character to Down Below. Phil isn’t a secret agent in this, but he’s still a competent badass in that way Phil always is, and he was my favorite from the get-go! Their love story is so sweet, you’ll melt by the end. Also, there are explicit sexy times, and they are great. Plus, body image is dealt with wonderfully without feeling like a PSA.

It’s also not told in first person! I thought it was from that part of the summary, but it isn’t, and I was v happy about that.

The Clockwork Murders by Selenay Words: 76k+ Rating: M

Phil Coulson has two lives: by day he's a quiet, respectable Edwardian gentleman and his biggest risk is on a hand of cards at his club; at night he's a masked vigilante, fighting to make London safer. Keeping those lives separate is difficult enough when his closest friend is the head of a special task force within the Metropolitan police. It becomes even more difficult when his latest case gets dangerously close to home, bodies start washing up on the banks of the Thames, and Detective Inspector Fury's team is tasked with capturing the vigilante.

Clint Barton, Coulson's new valet, is down on his luck and inexperienced at valeting but his skills from his former life may be exactly what Coulson needs. They just need to negotiate their way through Coulson's secret life and their growing attraction to each other. And save London from a terrifying new threat along the way.

Alright, this fic might just be my absolute favorite out of the whole bunch. Not to say the others are lesser in any way, but I LOVE this one! Edwardian Steampunk has never been my thing, but I guess I can’t say that anymore?!

One of the best Phil POV’s I can remember, along with a romance that just consumed me. Phil is kinda like an Edwardian Batman with less gadgets and slightly lower social standing? I was so on board. Let Phil Be Batman. I’m starting that campaign right now. Clint is also a bit like Robin, if Robin was also Hawkeye. The slow build of their relationship is delicious, and so, so rewarding when it finally comes to a head (lol). When they finally got together, I actually fist pumped (just a very small, non-distracting one, because I was on a train at the time and didn’t want to look like a complete loon, but that’s how much I loved this story). Phil and Clint are vigilante detectives and Clint gets to be smart! What a novel concept!

I’m also a massive sucker for AU’s where the Avengers find each other and form a team all on their own. The scenario here is AMAZING and everything I never knew I wanted in an AU team-up. When Nat first showed up, I almost squealed out loud. No shame. Steve and Bucky are off being cops with Fury, off-page, so they’re the only ones missing from the story, but Darcy is here!! Plus, she and Nat have a side thing towards the end, and I am HERE FOR IT. This fic just has me so excited, weeks after I finished it. I’m invested and it hurts.

You know when I care about the plot of a phlint story, that the plot is genuinely compelling, because usually the phlint is all I care about. And the relationship is the foundation from the start, and always the underlying focus, so no worries for the people in it for the tension/sexytimes.

Cherik

An Ideal Grace by afrocurl and nekosmuse Words: 86k+ Rating: M

Cherik is one of the few pairings where the No Powers AU’s are some of my favorites. This is one of those times! Both boys have some mental health issues, especially where Erik as concerned, but it handled fairly well. Erik’s mental health specifically is a major arching plot piece, and his therapy sessions are important to his daily life and aren’t just mentioned off-page.

It’s important to say that there is no underage or professor/student relationship between Charles and Erik. There is past professor/student trauma in Erik’s life, but that is always a clearly negative and traumatic aspect of his life, and something he is working towards healing from in the story.

The only thing that had me a little iffy was the co-dependency between him and Raven, who is his adoptive sister in this, but it is called out, and they are moving forward in this story as well as the sequel. Having those two be siblings instead of her and Charles is a bit different, but I think it worked for the story, even if I still love Raven and Charles as siblings.

The sequel: Love’s Own Crown, I actually think I enjoyed more, since it was less about the identity mix-up and more about their relationship/therapy

The Other One Where Jack is the Gay Roommate by pfaerie Words: 16k+ Rating: E

Straight guy worries he's being homophobic to gay roommate, realizes he's fallen in love with him. Turns out Gabriel Reyes is fine with Jack Morrison kissing guys if it's him Jack is kissing.

This is kind of a remix of the author’s previous fic of the same name (minus “Other” in the title), but with sexytimes and additional editing. This is the roommate trope at it’s finest. It’s Gabe’s perspective, and in a non-powered/modern day AU, which works 100% to the story’s advantage. Gabe cracks me up, and I liked Widow in this too. All the kudos for the humor and smut! I really love this author’s writing style, especially with the way they write r76′s dynamic.

It’s one of those fics I’d give to a friend who wanted to read r76, but hadn’t before. The angst is mostly “I’m not gay, bro! ...oh wait” kind, plus Gabe just being a pill, not any of the massively heavy and dark content you tend to see with this pair.

Ummmm hard to say??? favorites are. impossible. right now i’m fully back into StormPilot tho because Star Wars got me back in its grips, and also queerplatonic!JediStormPilot (bc i love Finn and Poe being romantic as heck together, but my bby Rey is v aroace and v happy to queerplatonically cuddle with her two dork boyfriends or fall asleep on Finn’s shoulder.

Then there’s also Ringsy (Ringo and Easy from Unter Uns) which is trash, and i’m fully aware it’s trash, but anyone following me can see that i also completely sold my soul to this ship whoops i live for my asshole bi boy and my pure gay cinnamon roll and i got no regrets

but i guess when it comes to all time/long time faves, I also have to say George Squared from Call Me Katie, and WolfStar (Remus and Sirius) from Harry Potter.

uuuhhhhh *sweating nervously* my very first ship, before i even knew what shipping was, was Lisa/Rokko from Verliebt in Berlin (for anyone who doesn’t know: that was the german telenovela version of Ugly Betty).

is there a ship that you used to ship, but don’t anymore?

Drarry is definitely one of those. I also used to ship a couple of rarepairs in HP that i don’t really care for anymore, like Ron/Draco, Ron/Blaise Zabini, Remus/Severus (cringeworthy, i know, but to my defense, that was before half blood prince) and stuff like that. I also used to ship Johnlock a lot, but I lost interest in BBC Sherlock, so i don’t really care anymore.

what’s a ship you like that most people don’t?

ummm Jonathan/Steve/Nancy from Stranger Things maybe? And Nancy/Barb. Oh and Rory/Jess in Gilmore Girls - which, I know, there are loads of people who ship that, but there are also loads of people who have a very strong opinion against that ship.

Also, maybe Cho/Harry/Cedric?? Idk how most people feel about that, it’s not a very well known ship or anything, and I mostly ship Harry with Ginny anyway, but I do like the idea of their dynamics.

and ummmm this probably doesn’t count, but in the webseries Project Green Gables, I ship Anne with Reggie Gardner, which. Ummm. Reggie Gardner is not really a character that exists yet, but it’s just my version of how I imagine Roy Gardner in this adaptation of Anne of Green Gables. It’s not really fair to say that other people don’t like this ship because how can they, if this character only exists in a few of my posts but not really in the show??? but anyway, doesn’t matter, because Anne/Gil is still OTP and they’re definitely endgame

huh. well I guess I don’t really hate it, but like i said before, to me, Rey is aroace, so I don’t really care for romantic/sexual FinnRey. but like, everyone, do your thing.

oh, but i definitely don’t like mike/el in Stranger Things. I haven’t seen s2 yet, but uuuggghhhh it just weirds me out and makes me uncomfortable, the way heteronormativity gets pushed on El, who would be the perfect character to explore breaking boundaries beyond the binary and the normative rules of society about girlhood and sexuality and all that.

what is the most underrated ship, in your opinion?

Basically, all femslash ships??? Like, I used to love MorGwen back in my Merlin days, but there was so little content for them, and while I love Merthur, too, it was extremely unbalanced.

Also very underrated: friend-ships. like damn, i friend-ship Joan and Sherlock in Elementary so much!!! I dig all the friendships in B99!!! I need more friend fic!!!

what is the most overrated ship, in your opinion?

ummm idk probably johnlock and destiel?? this is definitely nothing against people who ship it. i have shipped both of these. i just got tired of seeing people fall for the queerbaiting, and still holding on to impossible hope. I get how we’re all desperate for representation, and it’s absolutely vile to drag us into shows with promising pairs and amazing chemistry, and then just teasing us for eternity without ever going through with anything - i get that’s not the fault of the shippers. but i’m just tired of queerbait ships. give me real queer representation damnit!!

oh, also kylux. I’m just not feeling it?? honestly, Hux hates Kylo, and Kylo is an angry manbaby, there’s just nothing appealing about this ship to me at all.

All-Time Favourite Ships!

From books, movies, Broadway, and TV shows!

(list not in any particular order and may contain spoilers).

1. Bellarke: Bellamy Blake and Clarke Griffen from The 100 (TV)

Okay, I know I said that the list is in no particular order, but this ship is my all time OTP since I started watching The 100. And I can’t sleep at night knowing that they are not officially canon yet, even if it was pretty clear in Praimfiya that it will be endgame! So exited for their reunion in Season 5. I spend hours on end reading Bellarke fan fiction all day, every day. And Bellamy is my baby and I love his so much. And I can’t wait to see how he is after the six-year time jump on the show. Sometimes, I think that I watch the show just for these two.

2. Haleb: Hanna Marin and Caleb Rivers from Pretty Little Liars (TV)

Again, like I said that this list is in no particular order, this ship would defiantly be in my top 5. Anyway, I still have to properly sit down and watch Season 7B of Pretty Little Liars so don’t spoil anything for me. Haleb in my opinion, is the best ship on this show, but I think towards the early seasons I used to ship Ezria more but when Caleb showed up with his long hair, I died. And therefore, they became my favourite ship. I remember, I put watching the show on break after Caleb left to do his own show is either season 3 or 4, I don’t remember exactly. But yeah, these two are pretty cute together and I hope it stays that way.

3. Stydia: Stiles Stilinksi and Lydia Martin from Teen Wolf (TV)

Okay, again, probably in my top 7. So, the thing with Stydia is that they dragged it out for so long that the anticipation killed me. But I love them still so much. And Dylan O’Brian is just on a different level of awesomeness (and cuteness). And Lydia, even though she used to annoy me at first, and Teen Wolf is probably not my favourite TV show, but it’s still good, and Lydia’s character started to grow on me and I need to catch up on Season 6, (don’t judge me guys, the past few moths for me have been really busy) and I just recently started to watch this show, like maybe two years ago, but still, love love love.

4. Linctavia: Lincoln and Octavia Blake from The 100 (TV)

Okay, so another The 100 ship, but oh my lord I scream every time someone mentions them! They are so adorably cute and the flyest of power couples who don’t give a damn about what people think. And every time I think of Lincoln, I just might well cry because he didn’t deserve what he got. Fucking Pike. I’m glad Octavia killed him. And the song to which Lincoln dies to, and the one where Octavia’s scream and cries are kinda muffled, it’s called Cloud by Elias, and it’s in my playlist and then I have a mini breakdown when it comes on and think of Lincoln falling on his knees in the tiny puddle and Octavia and I just cry a little more on the inside. Anyway, probably the best couple to ever exist on the show and maybe even ever in this whole damn world. They were so fucking badass together, I loved every minute of it.

5. Sciles: Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski from Teen Wolf (TV)

Okay, so this is like my favourite BROTP of all eternity. I just think that their relationship is so cute and how much they care about each other, and the hug in season 3 is my everything, ahhh, I just love them so much it hurts. And throughout the show we can see their friendship grow even though they have been friends since they were little. Damn, I wish I had a friendship like that.

6. Chair: Charles “Chuck” Bass and Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl (TV)

Ahhh, Blair and Chuck, Chuck and Blair! I don’t think anyone will ever know how happy I was when the endgame for their endgame actually happened. Honestly, I was rooting for them since Blair’s birthday episode in the first season, even when everyone was after Nate and Blair, but no, not gonna happen. I just thought that Nate was very innocent and nice for Blair. Blair needed someone like Chuck and I don’t think anyone ever loved anyone else as much as Chuck loves Blair. I love them, they are so perfect for each other, with their games. I wish I had a Chuck. Blair’s lucky. Haha.

7. Literati: Jess Mariano and Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls (TV)

I wanted them to be endgame so bad. I remember I stopped watching Gilmore Girls after Jess leaves to go to the West Coast, and I wanted to punch his so bad, but I didn’t want to destroy his pretty face like the Swan did (if you know what I’m talking about HMU). And I low-key hated Logan, I don’t know exactly why, but I just did, but I think I’m over it now. But still I wanted these two to be together forever, cause they are just so perfect for each other and so balanced I loved it while it happened. But they can’t be together, and I shall be forever sad.

8. Percabeth: Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase from The Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series, and The Heroes of Olympus Series (Books)

Okay, so the kiss underwater made my 4th grade self go absolutely crazy with happiness. But I guess, my favourite moment from (both) of the series is probably at the start of Mark of Athena when they run towards each other and fall into each others arms and kiss when they reunite after eight long years, and everyone knows that they were endgame except when Percy had that thing with Rachel, but I was glad when that ended. Anyway, I just re-read the Heroes of Olympus series and I fell in love with all the characters again.

9. Jasiper: Jason Grace and Piper McLean from The Heroes of Olympus Series (Books)

Ahh, absolutely love these two. Too cute! Okay, I don’t have much to say for them besides that they are completely badass together. I mean, I was really sad for Piper when she realised that her memories pre The Lost Hero were not real. But the whole “look at that comet from the rooftop when it’s just us” would have been too cute it it was real.

10. Dramione: Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter Series (Books)

Okay, so I read a lot of fan fiction, and this is the one that I fully support no matter what the circumstances. I really really did wish that this could be possible but it’s not, it was never even canon! But yeah, I think that they would make an amazing couple together, and would be so cute, even if it is a very unlikely pair. But still, I do think that love sparks between them still.

11. Drarry: Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter from the Harry Potter Series (Books)

Oh, my god the amount of fan fiction I read for this is incomparable. I just love this pairing so much I can’t handle myself sometimes. Anyway, maybe in another world this is true and the people are happier there.

12. Aridante: Aristotle Mendoza and Dante Quintana from Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Books)

Okay, I don’t know how this ship name makes sense but whatever. I love love love this book so much, and I think these two, in whatever kind of relationship, make so much sense together. If anyone has not read this yet, what are you doing with your life? Anyway, this book is amazing and Benjamin Alire Saenz is an amazing author.

13. Adlock: Irene Adler and Sherlock Holmes from Sherlock (TV)

Okay, it was hard to chose between Johnlock, Sherlolly, and Adlock. But then A Scandal In Belgravia will forever be one of my favourite episodes, and honestly, their relationship just excites me and that message tone in the last episode got me all excited and happy again. Anyway, I wish they were canon but I respect whatever Sherlock is and how he does not want a relationship.

14. Triles: Tristan Milligan and Miles Hollingsworth III from Degrassi: Next Class (TV)

Anyway, I was getting so mad when I could not find a gif that fit the aesthetic of this post, but then I finally did and that’s all that matters. Anyway, I’m so glad that this is cannon and hopefully endgame, but Miles little slip with Lola in Season 3 got me so mad! Like, how could he, his boyfriend was in a coma and he’s cheating on him! That’s totally unacceptable! But then I guess I came to terms with why he did what he did. And I’m glad that Tristan (kinda) forgave him. Yay.

15. Bughead: Betty Copper and Jughead Jones from Riverdale (TV)

Okay, so I haven't read enough fan fiction to say that this is my absolute favourite yet, and since this is a newer ship than most others mentioned on here, it’s kinda hard for me to feel for them what I feel for the others. But I still really like this pairing, it’s kinda unique, and a little different from the normal TV shows, so yeah.

16. Lams: John Laurens and Alexander Hamilton from Hamilton: An American Musical (Theatre)

This is my favourite theatre ship, but somewhere in my heart, I think Jefferson and Hamilton secretly love each other. No, but seriously, I think John and Alex are just the cutest friends, and the fact that their friendship existed so heavily in real life makes me so happy.
