Tomorrow is Eid, and my daughter Rajaa dreams only of being happy in a new dress, just like she used to before the war.

Happy pride month. I don't get to celebrate much because I'm currently homeless with my family. Two of my sisters, my mom, her mom, and I are all just trying to make it by. We've all been in abusive situations recently and are trying to escape these cycles of abuse. I swear I'm on here constantly begging for help to keep us afloat as we're being tugged down. We deal with so much bullshit on a day to day basis if I didn't live it, I wouldn't believe it. We have people stalking us, stealing from us, trying to take advantage of my sisters car. All we want to do is have a roof over our heads, piece our family back together, and never be bothered by our abusers ever again. One was in jail but is getting out this month. The other is supposed to be going to jail but is evading the police and hiding my other sister. She is disabled and non-verbal, and is being physically and emotionally abused. It is torture knowing that no one is protecting her but everyone is protecting her abuser. We're drowning over here just trying to get on steady ground once again. Tonight we have nowhere to sleep and will probably run out of gas. We're running low on sleep because every night we're unsure where the hell we're going to sleep. This heat is killing us. And every step we take forward, we're knocked ten feet back. This isn't a battle we can afford to lose but we are. We just need help. If you can spare a dollar or two, maybe even five, it makes a difference. A dollar can be the difference between shelter, having money for food, or making sure we don't run out of gas on the side of the road. I'm putting a large amount down, because it's how much we do need to just keep going. I don't expect anyone to give us the full amount. Not with this economy. But if you have a dollar you can throw our way, and you do. Well, that'll mean the world to us. This is so long, and probably repetitive but I am exhausted and just trying to make it to the next day. We are not okay. We are not safe. We are living in unimaginable conditions — and tomorrow is Eid al-Adha, a holiday that should bring joy, new clothes, laughter, and celebration to children. But how can my children celebrate when there is no food, no water, no medicine? How can they smile in new clothes when their weak bodies can barely stand?

We are in Gaza — trapped, starving, broken. Every day is a battle for survival.

ive seen so many gazans who've had their fundraisers shut down for no apparent reason. all of them were depending on that fundraiser to afford necessities. how does one afford to buy basic necessities (that are scarce and expensive) when their singular source of money has been unjustly closed?

my friend suad is a mother of a little baby boy, khaled. her son was born in the current genocide and has known nothing but the sound of bombing. he has respiratory issues. suad's gfm was unjustly shut down. she's moved to chuffed to ensure that she can raise money to ensure her child's well being.

you cannot talk about the homophobic murder of jonathan joss without including in the conversation that he is indigenous.

american indian men are at the 2nd highest risk of death by murder compared to all other ethnic groups. in their lifetimes, 82% of native men report having experienced domestic violence. yet the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are non-natives (88% of native men and 92% of native women who reported violence said their attacker was non-native). what’s more, tribal governments are often stymied in their attempts to bring justice against non-natives, meaning that many of these cases go unresolved.

this was an intersectional attack. the fact that he is indigenous matters, even if the motivation was homophobic, because it made him even more vulnerable and disposable in the eyes of his killer.
