Sadly things are still pretty hectic on both work & personal fronts and I haven’t read a fic in months :( I barely had the chance to advance on my book reading (which I’ve been trying to prioritize this year) and that makes me really sad. I wish I could give you a more encouraging answer but the truth is that right now I don’t know when or in what capacity I’ll be able to come back to fandom. I need to take some time off to rest and see if I can re-connect with reading and reccing. In any case I still check Tumblr every now and then, so I appreciate your message! Thanks for checking in, anon! Rio is doing really well all things considered, no further seizures since last time and his body has finally adapted to the new medication, so I don’t feel like crying every time I look at him anymore :,)

As for me, I’ve been extremely busy at work and it’s taking a toll on my body. I just came back from a business trip and feel dead on my feet and ready to sleep until next month lol I was saving my vacation days for Sep-Oct but I might take some time off in July bc I’m just too tired to even enjoy summer properly. This year has been a lot so far but I’m hanging in here :) I hope you’re taking care of yourself too ❤️

It’s been a rough couple of days. Yesterday my dog had a seizure and we found out that he probably has (idiopathic) epilepsy. I’ve never felt so helpless or brokenhearted in my life. I’m trying to stay positive while navigating this emotional rollercoaster, and once again Vale Sanare was there to hold my hand and save me from spiralling. After months away from fic, this felt like coming home. @thegertie I cannot thank you enough for sharing this achingly beautiful story which has comforted me so many times over the years, and now when it matters the most. thank you 🤍

Thank you, anon! Yes and no lol, I’m doing okay just haven’t been feeling fandom lately. I can’t pinpoint when it all started, my fandom energy has been pretty low in the past year and I didn’t bounce back after my vacation break in February. I considered adding an “hiatus” note on my bio, but I still check Tumblr every now and then (my BL sideblog is running on queue, and I’m always happy to respond asks but it may take a while to get to them), I just prefer not to post anything during this time. The lack of inspiration always hits hard - there’s so much I’d like to read and rec! But I’m just doing my best to respect the process and enjoy other hobbies in the meantime. I’m sure it’s just a temporary detox and I’ll come back when the time is right 😊 I hope you’re taking care of yourself!

HELLO TUMBLR 👋 i am ENORMOUSLY excited to say: i've written a book! and i'm writing two more! and they're all queer romcoms! and the first one, FALL INTO YOU, will be out in JUNE. there is a LOT of my heart in this novel, and i absolutely can't wait to share it with you 💜

if you've ever enjoyed my fanfic, particularly stories like What We Pretend We Can't See and I've Got Nothing to Do Today But Smile, then you'll love FALL INTO YOU. it's full of ROMANCE and JOKES but also REAL, MESSY PEOPLE with PROBLEMS and TRAUMA, because those are the stories i love telling! it's chock full of things i adore: set on an APPLE FARM in NORTHEAST OHIO, main characters who hate each other more or less immediately, gratuitous depictions of food, and they were ROOMMATES?, people healing wounds they didn't even know were still open, AND MORE.

i'll be sharing more about this book in the weeks to come (i promise i will try so hard not to be obnoxious about it 🫡 ), and about the next two as we get closer to publication! but until then, i just want to say: the fic stays UP and the author stays GRATEFUL, always. i am honored and humbled by your readership, and really proud of the work i've done for and with fandom, and that's not a tune you're ever going to see me change.

Thank you, anon! No pressure felt on my end, I promise. I’ve decided to live one day at a time and re-direct my energy to the things that are bringing me joy atm. And it’s been a fairly fun and healing process, if I’m honest! I’ve been reading a lot, also working a lot and spending more quality time with my dogs and my friends. I took several fandom breaks over the years so it’s a familiar feeling that I know how to navigate. I do miss the tumblr energy though! They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, so I’m sure this is only temporary and I’ll feel the pull to come back at some point 😊 thanks again and I hope you’re taking care of yourself, too!
