snippets from my first zine-- started a little while back and finished recently-- i wanted to capture the feeling of my first year out of college-- the feeling of disconnect from everyone and everything familiar-- shunted into the unknowns of adulthood with not enough guidance-- trying desperately to find hope in the midst

(it feels odd to post right now-- as the world is feeling bleak and life is feeling overwhelming-- the air is dry and filled with smoke-- but as a dear friend told me recently-- we have to believe that hope is inevitable)

There will be always highs and lows in life. "Esteban Ocon, his first podium!" These moments don't last forever, so you need to enjoy it as much as you can.

My all-time high in racing has to be my first victory in Formula 1.

"Ocon wins the Grand Prix!" There has been quite a few high moments at times, but I think the ones, that I will remember the most, is when you are at the highest point. Those will be the ones to remember.

It's a full life of sacrifice and dedication really, that brings you to this point. It means even more, all my family, they've sacrificed so much, for me to get to the point to where we wanted. When we succeed all together, it's always all together. It's always a high moment in in everyone's life, in my family, when we get something special like that.

I would say a relief, a boost in confidence.

It proves to yourself, you always believe that you are capable of doing that. But once you have the confirmation that it has happened on track, then you know you can perform at these levels. And that's even sweeter.

Low points in my career, there's been quite a few. 2014 before Formula 1, I won the Formula 3 title and had no possibility to continue further until March, which is quite late in the racing. So that was the first really tricky moment. 2018, the end as well, when I stepped on the side for a year in 2019. I have to say I've learned a lot in that year, working alongside the people that were dominating the sport, a great team and a very successful team. I grew up a lot as a driver. I'm still carrying forward, all that knowledge nowadays. It hasn't been for nothing.

There will be always highs and lows in life. When you're on the highs, everything feels easy, everything feels fine, but these moments don't last forever, so you need to enjoy it as much as you can take all the benefit from it. All the learning, all the joy. When you know the low comes, you use those highs to counteract a bit of both, to have the balance.

Ok I wanted to come out and say this but

Yes Alastor is a narcissist. He is incredibly npd (narcissistic personality disorder) coded and I love him for it

However can you guys please stop calling him narcissist without really knowing what npd is? Because I know most of you looked at alastor, saw he had a very high opinion of himself and hes a bad person and labeled him a narcissist based on that

Please do more research into npd and, if you can, speak with people who have npd themselves before slapping narcissist on whatever you like. It is not a fun little character trait, it is a mental illness

I've been reading the emesis blue screenplay whenever I have a bit of free time, and it's so interesting to see the small changes they've made to some scenes.

But also, the knowledge that Fritz was supposed to have visions of being mistreated in prison in that one scene when he has a panic attack at scout's house makes me go hhhhhh

yk i always loved how in robin and gary's livestreams as medic and heavy, they always give them such dorky wholesome personalities, like those excitable fun grandpas, i'm surprised i don't see them characterized that way more often in fanworks

I think it's because the two recognized how fun it'd be to bounce off each other if they did since i recall gary being a improv actor at one point (and currently a teacher for that kind of acting!)

(insert ramble here along the lines of 'improv being the ability to adapt to another person's ideas without fully rejecting it' '"yes and" instead of a "no" being the ultimate rule of improv' yadda yadda)
