I was walking out of the Walmart today, and a car passed me, and I got this incredibly vivid impression. It wasn't really in words, but if I had to put it into words, the two key points would be

a). I needed to watch that car and

b). That I needed to be careful, because the driver of the car was a massive bitch.

It kind of took me by surprise, because I really had no reason to be beefing with that car, and I also hadn't really had an impression like that since I was religious, which was in my teen years. Right? It'd been a decade since I had a little voice whisper in my ear, and I'd basically written it off as nonsense.

Anyway, I watched the car, because The Spirits or whatever were very insistent that I did. Car drove fine, went into the parking spot, inched forward, and right when it should've just stopped, the driver gunned it for some reason and it ran into the curb and cracked its bumper.

So, the driver got out, and she went to the front of the car to check that yes, she had cracked her bumper, and then she turned to look at me. The parking lot wasn't empty, but we were the only two people standing in that row, and I'd probably been staring at her for tenish seconds now.

She demanded very angrily to know why I hadn't warned her of the curb. And I could have said I didn't know you were about to gun it or is it my job to help every stranger park, or even could you have even heard me, inside your car?

And all of those would have been fine, but I was really, really busy digesting that I had somehow communed with Mormon Jesus again for the first time in fifteen years, and that the communion had mostly been there to let me watch someone park badly (?), so what I responded with was:

"Because it was foretold."

And I can't tell which would be funnier, if she went silent because there's not much to be said to that, or if she went silent because in Utah, she might actually believe me, but we parted ways without more words.

I'm still kind of digesting this myself, actually.

Hello hello dear friends! Time has come!

It's been little more than a year since I started this project and today I can happily announce: I MADE IT. IT'S DONE. YAY. \o/

My computer died a few times on the way but he's okay mostly. And school/work almost drew me insane but I survived! I want to say "thank you" to my mutuals and all people who wanted to see this as much as me.

i’m completely and utterly in love with the concept of reader developing feelings for alastor, but she knows he’s aroace so she doesn’t know how to communicate/doesn’t wanna cross any boundaries. so the next best thing? distance and close herself off from him.

when they’re in the same room she will not look at him or talk to him in case it slips that she’s head over heels.

she even goes as far as standing on the other side of the room because being too close to alastor sends her into a nervous frenzy.

but alastor, being the very observant demon that he is, notices how closed off she’s being when he’s used to her standing close to him. used to her soft and calming voice. used to having her presence around him all the time.

does he miss it? yes. will he ever admit that out loud? absolutely not.

so alastor confronts her about it. and maybe it takes a bit of poking and prodding to finally get reader to admit everything and she’s so terrified because “i don’t wanna lose you to my stupid and idiotic feelings”

but then… hehe. alastor just says;

“my darling, i love and cherish your company more than any of the others here. it’d be a downright shame to not have a beauty like you on my arm”

my final graphic design thesis project from about this time last year! i made a sleeve for a diy vinyl record (track featured by my friend aria @everlastingwife ^_^). this process was so much fun to experiment with!! on my first attempt, i tried to 3d print a record using a 3d model i generated from the wav file. this did not work because i didn't have access to any printers with a fine enough resolution — all of the grooves holding the audio information totally melted. for my second try, i used a subtractive process instead and badgered my department into buying the gakken toy record maker, which was essentially a tiny record lathe. the audio quality was total ass but it worked much better and was playable! lot of trial and error involved but i'm overall very satisfied with the final outcome :-] hope to make some cd mixtapes now that i no longer have access to that little lathe.

I hate calling my little stories podcasts, because the assumption is that it’s two dudes talking about politics or economics. Like, no, buddy, I am listening to a guy experience the Horrors with a full plotline, not Michael and Josh talk about society for three hours

Yeah everyone likes to play different. This kid right there? Their dolls are always the same but they make different scenarios each time.

Some children make up a new play every time they came, but others are following the same pretend since they got here.

There is even kids that dont even play pretend as much as they like to dress up their dolls and make fashion shows. Others prefer to set up doll houses and little places they never use. But they will let you play on them if you ask nicely.

Oh these kids? They are actually very talented and make their own doll clothes, wigs, and even furniture for the doll houses. Yes, they share their creations, so we can play too!

Hey! Let me introduce you to my friend. I dont know her name but her doll is married to mine <3 yes if you make friends here you can borrow their dolls and they will play with yours too, its very fun!

Oh, this kids. They are kinda spoiled and bratty. They have those expensive doll accessories and like to show them off. You can play with them if you give them your lunch money or wait until their toys arent as new anymore so they will let you play for free. The new kids like them but most of us will just steal some toys from time to time (dont tell them tho)

Some kids can be mean but i promise there is nice ones you can befriend and they are really cool. Hope you like here <3 do you wanna see the setup i did for my dolls wedding?

I’ve had a lot of conversations since Tuesday revolving around the question of why Donald Trump won. The economy and inflation. Kamala Harris didn’t do this or that. Sexism and racism. The border. That trans-inmate ad that ran a jillion times. And so on.

These conversations have usually proceeded along lines where people ask incredulously how a majority of voters could have believed this or that. Weren’t they bothered that Trump is a convicted felon? An adjudicated rapist? Didn’t his invocation of violence against Liz Cheney, or 50 other examples of his disgusting imprecations, obviously disqualify him? And couldn’t they see that Harris, whatever her shortcomings, was a fundamentally smart, honest, well-meaning person who would show basic respect for the Constitution and wouldn’t do anything weird as president?

The answer is obviously no—not enough people were able to see any of those things. At which point people throw up their hands and say, “I give up.”

But this line of analysis requires that we ask one more question. And it’s the crucial one: Why didn’t a majority of voters see these things? And understanding the answer to that question is how we start to dig out of this tragic mess.

The answer is the right-wing media. Today, the right-wing media—Fox News (and the entire News Corp.), Newsmax, One America News Network, the Sinclair network of radio and TV stations and newspapers, iHeart Media (formerly Clear Channel), the Bott Radio Network (Christian radio), Elon Musk’s X, the huge podcasts like Joe Rogan’s, and much more—sets the news agenda in this country. And they fed their audiences a diet of slanted and distorted information that made it possible for Trump to win. [...]
