THE TREATY PRINCIPLES BILL IS BEING PRESENTED TO THE HOUSE TOMORROW!!!!!!!
EDIT: SIGN THIS PETITION THAT CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT AOTEAROA TIME 18TH NOV
EDIT: Here's a link with more info on the Bill and it's contents and breaches!
This matters to EVERYONE in our country! If you're Māori this is about our LITERAL existence, if you're Pākehā, tauiwi, tangata Tiriti this concerns you because Tiriti is what gives you the privilege of existing on this whenua! The Waitangi Tribunal has already said this Bill will be the biggest Waitangi breach ever. YOU have a responsibility to do something.
ACT, our coalition government, and the Ministry of Justice have been intentionally keeping this bill under the wraps. Mad mihi to the MoJ analyst who leaked that draft though (I'm sure they got sacked if not massive repercussions).
What we know so far is that Te Pāti Māori, Green Party, and Labour WILL NOT be voting for this and that ACT, NZ First, and National WILL be voting for this tomorrow. NZ First and National have said that they WILL NOT support this Bill after its first reading so it will go to Select Committee and then die at first reading.
National and NZ First have said they'll only support this Bill to first reading (thankfully) but there is always the chance of closed door promises & favours and we still need to advocate for this disgusting bill to die.
I'll post more about submissions when they open for Select Committee but I'm happy to help answer questions or help with that and the process.
But the racist idiots to email and drill in that you DO NOT want this Bill are...
ACT MPs
1. David Seymour (Email: [email protected] ) (the one bigoted brain cell behind this bill)
2. Brooke Van Velden ([email protected])
3. Nicole McKee ([email protected])
4. Todd Stephenson ([email protected])
5. Andrew Hoggard ([email protected])
6. Karen Chhour ([email protected])
7. Mark Cameron ([email protected])
8. Simon Court ([email protected])
9. Parmjeet Parmat ([email protected])
10. Laura Trask ([email protected])
11. Cameron Luxton ([email protected])
AND
- Prime Minister Christopher Luxon ([email protected])
- Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters ([email protected])
If you're able to participate with any part of the hīkoi please do and please be safe!!!!
Toitū te Tiriti! Ake ake ake!

Despite relentless pressure to acknowledge her illegitimacy, Mary had always held out. But now, under the very real threat that her dear friends would otherwise go to the block for supporting her claim, Mary finally submitted and put her hand to the document that declared the invalidity of her parents' marriage and her own bastardy. The lives of Exeter, Carew, and their allies were saved, if only temporarily, by Mary's sacrifice, but their political influence had been shot.
Henry VIII’s Last Victim: The Life and Times of Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey, Jessie Childs
#they would have but the...thing is that all of them immediately disavowed that claim#the depositions regarding this are one of the best examples of the slipperiness of courtier faction.#'i thought she might inherit because she is bona fides. no i do not know what that means.#no i did not come up with it by myself. no i do not recall where i heard that.'#there also is an odd rhetoric to them wherein...#her supporters say that of course; she should not be restored until she rescinds her willful disobedience#and swears to the oaths#but these same oaths are what would illegitimize her#so it's almost like they had this belief...that if she submitted with a bit of theatre#it would then be henry's remit to restore her . as if she had to admit to the justice of his marital case first#for him to admit to some bona fides principle#it is all very strange. i am not sure where they got that impression; certainly not from henry himself unless he was dissembling#or did have some volte-face which the evidence of april 1536 at least does not suggest (not regarding mary ; anyways)#but i think it really might've been that it was a very deeply entrenched belief that the only obstacle to her total restoration was her#stepmother...so that with her execution it was safe to speak in mary's favor.#mary's disillusionment is often spoken of but that of these men is as well#after having their influence so greatly reduced they must have had plenty of time to ...wonder what that had all been for#i think it is no coincidence that exeter and carew are executed two years after this.#it is very plausible that their harsh words in private (“”) finally were about the king rather than his 'whore'. now that she was dead#and it was clear that his policy to diminish his daughter was. well. his own

G.R.R. Martin once planned to have a time skip in between each chapter of the books, but discarded it because it would require large amounts of flashbacks and expositions to get the audience up to speed. Boy, it sure is great that YJ only had one season so we didn't have to worry about each sequential season having to allocate precious episode time to explain what happen in the gaps while also developing new characters and plot lines /s
Sadly I cannot speak to or for Mister George Raymond Richard Martin's storytelling as I managed to miss the boat on both ASOIAF as a book series and Game of Thrones as a TV phenomenon. However, it certainly seems like he made the right decision there. Smart man.
As for the Young Justice Animated series... I can only agree. While I would have loved to see a continuation of the mystery, and think there was a lot of potential in the original cast of heroes and interesting things they could have done with The Light, I'm glad that DC made the call to cancel the show and move on to new projects when it became clear that the tone and themes didn't fit with their brand-pivot to New 52 edginess, rather than trying to forcibly crush the series into an incompatible mold for use as a marketing vessel.
Plus, the more complaints I've heard from other franchises about what happens when you leave Greg Weisman creatively unsupervised, the more likely it is that we would have just been in for a bad-fanfic barrage of random new characters, arbitrary time-skips, jumbled perspective-hopping, attempted twitter-retcons and general throwing-ideas-at-a-wall that he seems to use in place of actually learning basic narrative techniques like developing a story arc, maintaining character consistency or creating proper causal links between concepts, all seasoned with a heaping helping of Joss-Whedon-inspired performative virtue-signalling, creepy rape-y garbage and fetishistic sexism. Bullet dodged, methinks. Our city now.
There are fine things that are more brilliant when they are unfinished than when finished too much. - François de La Rochefoucauld
Here's to a rare and pleasant display of creative honesty.
Tumblr media
[Goof-posting because there's really not a lot about YJ's problems that I haven't already dissected at length. If you want a serious technical look at the scope and structure problems the timeskips cause then I've gone into it here. You can also try here for a deeper dive into how the timeskips are actually just a symptom of a bigger problem of narratively directionless story-contradictions being hastily papered over by a largely-untalented privilege-poisoned embodiment of George Lucas Syndrome and a largely-inexperienced adaptation producer who didn't have the original-storytelling chops to compensate for his co-runner's bullshit once the actually talented original production/ directorial team left the picture. C'est la capitalisme, I guess.]

Aotearoa made history with Hīkoi mō te Tiriti reaching Paremata (Parliament grounds). This hīkoi was against the racist, anti- Māori Treaty Principles Bill that passed its first reading last week.
50-100,000 Māori, Pākehā, and tauiwi showed up! The lowest estimation is more than the turnouts for both the Māori Land March (1975) and the Foreshore Seabed March (2004). People came from all over the country and there was no room on Parliament grounds for most of us! The last photo is a drone shot to show how packed it was!
Thank you to everyone who showed up but I just want to say that this isn't over! Submissions for Select Committee opened today and close Tuesday Jan 7th 2025! Please make a submission in support of Māori and AGAINST this Bill! You're submission can be five words long or five pages and ANYONE can make a submission! (Even if you're not on this whenua technically you can) It's the most important thing you can do right now! If you are a Pākehā or tauiwi- you HAVE TO!
I'll post more about submissions but if you have any questions I'm happy to answer or them or help write submissions!

In a context where Batman is known and seen through his public League appearances, the misogynistic, homophobic, "alpha male" guys start using his image to illustrate their discourse of going to the gym, and seeking submissive women. They admire and misinterpret his traits as endorsements of their toxic masculinity. Online, they share images of Batman with stuff like "Be the Alpha, Be the Batman". They even use the word Batmen as a synonym to Alpha Male. "Real Batmen don't show weakness".
When Bruce becomes aware of this, he hates it. He despises them for all their messed up views, knowing they completely misunderstand his principles. Batman's true strength lies in his commitment to justice, empathy, and respect for all individuals, values that are fundamentally opposed to the toxic masculinity they promote. Bruce is determined to distance his image from their rhetoric, seeing them as nothing more than sexist and homophobic idiots.
So he decides to be a tiny tiny bit more Brucie when they appear in public. Not in form, but in substance :
When he's asked a question, he tries to go "I have no clue, I'd have to ask Black Canary.", or "I'm not sure, I'd have to see what Wonder Woman thinks about that", or "This time, we really couldn't have done anything, anything at all, without Supergirl."
Also, Batman becomes more visibly affectionate with Superman. During public appearances, if he senses a camera on them, he makes sure to be seen clinging to Superman. He would rather face dating rumors every day than be associated with those idiotic discourses.
(It's also a good premise for a superbat fake-dating fic !!)

Looking both at current events and historical conflicts, it really seems like it’s human instinct to collectively blame an entire group of people from wrongs committed on their behalf or by other people from that group.
#a lot of times that’s what radicalisation functions as#and frequently the radicalisation is in reaction to genuinely horrific things#I remember reading in Rwanda#after the genocidal forces lost power#there were (smaller scale) massacres of Hutus#which (while obviously not justifiable) is understandable#in so far as victims of genocide feel that the entirety of the Hutus is responsible for the genocide#something I also remember#is at one point I read about I think Volga Germans in the USSR#something where during deportation there was a photo where they were forced to like#walk through I think it was mass graves? of the victims of the Nazis#and it was very much it seems meant to inspire guilt#but of course despite the Volga Germans being ethnically German—they lived in Russia#and of course we have so many modern examples#cycles of violence where violence against civilians is retaliated against by more violence against civilians#it really seems like this is kind of a human instinct#something that needs to be actively countered#and of course many people don’t actively counter it#and so it goes on and goes on and goes on#that’s also why I hate the sorta like ‘oh this terrible thing happened to this group of people so they should know better!’#oftentimes mistreatment radicalizes#especially a genocide#something like that makes people angry and! frightened#and fear I’ve always found makes people ugly#like their politics and actions#that’s why so much right-wing campaigning focuses on fear#that gut-fear makes people care much less about principles and justice—it makes people#Idk selfish? for lack of a better word#Idk. I hope there’s peace#but I don’t think it’s the natural state of the world—it’s something that must be maintainedand it’s not easy

Here is a brief summary of what is happening in Wikipedia right now:
In the last few years (3-4 years) the WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America, which was originally created to improve the quality and coverage of native issues and native articles on wikipedia, has been hijacked by a small number of users with an extremist agenda. They have been working diligently over the last few years to change the definition of both what it means to be an Indigenous American and even what it means to be state and federally recognized.
The four or five key players (Mainly Editor Yuchitown, Bohemian Baltimore, ARoseWolf, (now retired editor CorbieVreccan, Netherzone and Oncamera) who are part of the “Native American Articles Improvement Project” started implementing these changes slowly, but they started pursuing their goals aggressively after November 2023, when state-recognized tribes retained their voting rights in NCAI. Essentially, after the movement to delegitimize state-recognized tribes failed officially, the key players doubled down on altering and controlling the flow of information about Native Americans through Wikipedia.
The talk page of Lily Gladstone’s article has a relevant discussion here. Initially, the leaders of the WikiProject removed any reference to her being a “Native American Actress” and instead had her as “Self-identifying as Blackfoot” and “Self-identifying as Nez Perce” because her blood quantum was too low to be enrolled in either tribe.
You can see some of the discussion here:
 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Lily_Gladstone
Eventually they relented and changed her category to being “Of Nez Perce Descent” but you can see in the discussion that they are referring to an article that these editors (Yuchitown, Bohemian Baltimore, and CorbieVreccan) themselves appeared to have mostly written and revised:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_American_identity_in_the_United_States
This statement is very much at odds with even the government’s description, as seen below;
The DOJ Office of Tribal Justice Office on their webpage “Frequently Asked Questions About Native American”, question “Who is an American Indian or Alaskan Native” states:
“As a general principle, an Indian is a person who is of some degree Indian blood and is recognized as an Indian by a Tribe and/or the United States. No single federal or tribal criterion establishes a person's identity as an Indian. Government agencies use differing criteria to determine eligibility for programs and services. Tribes also have varying eligibility criteria for membership.”
In addition, “List” pages have been created on Wikipedia for federally and state recognized tribes. The Wikipedia “List” page for state-recognized tribes is inaccurate in its interpretation of state recognition and not supported by expert reliable sources--(1) Cohen’s Handbook of Federal Indian Law 2012 edition, (2) NCSL.org current stand on state recognition (not the archived list from 2017 which NCSL no longer supports), (3) Koenig & Stein’s paper “Federalism and the State Recognition of Native American Tribes: a survey of state-recognized tribes and state recognition processes across the United States” (both 2008 & updated 2013 in book “ Recognition, sovereignty struggles, and indigenous rights in the United States: A sourcebook”)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State-recognized_tribes_in_the_United_States
State-recognized tribes who have received recognition through less formal but acceptable means have been moved from the Wikipedia list page on state-recognized tribes to the Wikipedia list page of unrecognized or self-identifying organizations.
The Wiki page "List of organizations that self-identify as Native American tribes", in particular, is being used to purposely defame legitimate Native American individuals who are members of the tribes/Native communities that are on this list.
By the parameters set up on Wikipedia, only the colonizer’s governments can acknowledge who is Native American through either federal recognition or state recognition. If an individual is not a member of a federally or state-recognized tribe, then it is determined that they cannot be Native American and are, instead, considered “self-identifying” or only “a descendant of ...” (example Lily Gladstone). As a result, Native individuals are currently being tagged as “self-identifying” and their names are put on “list” pages that strongly imply they are “pretend” Indians.
These editors have indicated that they would like “self-identification” to be the default setting for any people who they deem do not fit within the parameters that they themselves created within Wikipedia.
Moreof, these editors are admin and senior editors within the Wikiproject Indigenous Peoples of North America, and are being called in specifically to weigh on Native Identity, and any project involving any Indigenous Group.
Any attempt to correct misinformation, add information, or change any of these articles is often met with being blocked, reported for various offenses, or reported for having a Conflict of Interest, whether or not that is actually applicable. They have use this strategically in many different pages for many different individuals and groups within the scope of their Wikiprojects.
While changing things in Wikipedia does not change the truth, it is a way to control how most people take in information, and thus they hope to manipulate the narrative to better suit their goals.
This is quick and messy but:
Here is a link to the google document with the other state recognized tribes (Including yours) that were edited by these editors. This is an incomplete list so far that only goes back to September 2023 but I am going to add to it. If you can add to your own part of this list, and send your complaints and information to the arbitrator committee (the email is below) with the involved editors, this will help our case.
The  more tribes who complain, and the more Wikipedia editors complain, the better our case will be.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YNDEjLTrrZ_mMIRCVxtvt69FwCYpJWKs71lBhWa5a9M/edit?usp=sharing
The place to make complaints on Wikipedia is oversight-en-wpwikipedia.org , and
arbcom-enwikimedia.org . It is most helpful to have an editing account on Wikipedia, because Yuchitown and the others will try to defend themselves using Wikipedia methodology and make anyone who confronts them look like the aggressor (see the other tribes who tried to fight back on Wikipedia I found).
The more people and tribes make complaints the more likely it is that this will work and we can rid ourselves of these monsters.
Some of the tribes I have spoken to are taking legal action against these editors. Any groups affected by their policies should also reach out to the news to make knowledge of this more widespread.
Thank you
- quoted with permission from an email sent by an associate of my tribe. Message me for their email address if you'd like to reach out to them.

A list of moral questions to developing a villainous character
Is mercy a sign of weakness in your eyes?
What is your primary motivation or value that drives your actions?
Are there any principles you refuse to compromise on, even in your pursuit of power?
Do you believe lying is justified if it serves your goals?
How do you manipulate others to achieve your ends?
Would you betray an ally to further your plans?
Do you believe in justice, or do you see it as a tool to manipulate others?
Would you sacrifice yourself for a cause or ambition?
Would you destroy something beautiful or innocent to achieve your goals?
If you had to choose between your ambition and the life of someone you care about, what would you do?
Do you feel any responsibility towards society, or do you act solely for your gain?
How do you justify your actions to yourself and others?
Can you forgive someone who has wronged you, or do you seek revenge?
How long do you hold grudges, and what actions might provoke them?
Do you respect any form of authority, or do you see yourself as the ultimate power?
These questions can help you delve into the psyche of your villain.

Unfortunately, your own suspicions came true in the future & instead of “kindred spirits” in within the context of Lin Kuei matters only as in being in a Professional Relationship only NRS Writer of MK1.2 D.C. still chose to repeat his Massive mistake with Sindel in MK11 the “Evil Power Couple shtick that simply makes NO sense to the characters involved” basically it’s a repeat of Sindel/Thotdel and Shao Khan just replace them with Bi-Han/Sub-Zero/Twindel II and Female!Sektor in MK1.2 because D.C is still most likely salty of his Sindel idea in MK11 being rejected by the MK Fanbase especially the Sindel Fanbase
Additionally, Bi-Han/Sub-Zero has been “Twindeled” AKA a type of Character Assassination in both the base game’s Story Mode and the DLC Khaos Reigns expansion just like Sindel and even Kabal in MK11
Please take note of the Yellow Highlighted part in the picture below
Tumblr media
Mostly because it’s heavily Criticizing MK11’s presentation for being a smokescreen to hide it’s negative performance as a Fighting Game
Edit 1: Here’s another picture showcasing why D.C. has to GtFooH
Tumblr media
And a lot more BAD decisions for the entire Story Mode of MK1.2
in the description of Sektor it is said that Sub Zero found a kindred spirit in her. I really hope that this means exclusively general views on the future of the Lin Kuei. I would not like to see any romantic relationship between Bi Han and Sektor. What do you think?
Oh god yeah, I would lose my mind if NSR dared to make Sektor his lover or romantic interest...I would rather see him with Sareena or die single instead of with Sektor
