Thanks to a certain krosrios on instagram ive been thinking up a new dpxdc fanfic

Cause listen having Danny leave his town cause of angst or college is cool. Having Danielle leave the town out of angst or just because is grand.

But hear me out

Dan going to Gotham because he has bonded enough with Team Phantom that they trust him to not destroy the world. He has gotten attached to Dani and reattached to Jazz and though he wont admit it is maybe a little too attached to purposefully destroy what they love.

Maybe he is following Jazz to keep her safe. Maybe he is just getting out of dodge for personal reasons and someone (cough cough) nudged him in the direction of Gotham.

But like imagine

Some angry kid settles down in crime alley of all places and quickly becomes talk of the town bc for how agressive he is he is also well known for helping when he can, in a perhaps too agressive way (not unlike a certain red hooded individual).

I imagine he is probably in his twenties and while lanky in his human form built like a tank in his ghost form. He works at a bouncer at a local bar or club and makes some side cash fixing appliances for people.

Some kids start whispering about him maybe being red hood or being related to red hood which obviously catches the vigilantes attention. Especially when some young street kid pulls a “well you would help me wouldnt you…. DAN??” *stares hard to see his reaction*

When Hood doesnt find anything he reluctantly flags it to Tim who only manages to find the name Daniel Fenton but that cant be right. His phone is actively pinging him in a small town in illinois. Unless its a twin of some kind? Or a clone, time jokes, but that cant be it bc thats just some kid. Nobody would have a reason to clone him.

Regardless some random unidentified man who can clearly fight and for whatever reason sets Jason off is a pretty big red flag. And while neither Tim nor Jason particularly wanna tell the Bat since they dont have anything concrete it is pretty concerning.

Maybe they end up breaking into a tired Dan’s apartment and questioning him.

Maybe Duke is walking through town and sees a kind old lady lecturing a fucking ghost?? God??? Guy??? And shoving food into his hands even tho he looks like he could kill her.

Maybe Barbara is spooked by a guy appearing beside her in a bookshop and reaching around her to grab a pretty in depth psychology book.

Maybe Tim finds him later with a young girl who looks just like him playing in the park.

Who knows!! I just think there is a lot to work with and his personality would be just wonderful to add into the batfamily boilin pot.

- I just read the article and I can’t believe that got out lol. I didn’t think I was gonna speak on it but yeah it’s part of the reason they’re not on friendly terms. It’s a mix of Ellen finding out about the Luke thing (post skate), Sammy writing an email responding to a news outlet asking for details about their romance ( I’m not sure how Ellen specifically found out it was Sammy, but basically their PR team was sent the emails asked for further comment from Ellen and Ellen got pissed tf off) and the Zionist stuff, she’s not a fan favorite.

- they just use it as a personality trait, like look at me I’m “ethnic” and different and cool. They also use it as an excuse to be rude sometimes. Like for example one time she was in class with her friends and they were doing a group project and they were really stand offish towards this girl and when confronted they claimed it was bc they were Jewish and Jewish ppl are standoffish. - So I’m not 100% she’s ever cheated on him. One of their mutual friends told Jack she cheated on him at a party, but there wasn’t any proof and Sammy denied it so I think he just let it go. He’s definitely suspicious of her tho and she’s been known to cheat on boyfriends before. But I can’t confirm she did.

- no there isn’t any plans, they’re not serious. I meant they’re together like bf/gf but they aren’t serious like moving in planning the future serious. Sorry for the confusion.

- I know their team sometimes lurks here when the boys (mainly Jack) does something stupid. But the boys not so much. The boys normally avoid fandom stuff, but they do see twitter, instagram, and TikTok stuff.

What are sammys friends like? Are any of them nice? Idk I couldn’t be friends with someone like that even if they were nice to me

- they’re basically just like her, some are nicer than others, some are meaner than others.

why do i, personally, think he said it? aside from being hurt? i sort of have a very nebulous idea of it that i noticed on a rewatch (yes i will rewatch this season consistently, it's now my among my favorite comfort tv shows along with 2005's p&p (which is a movie i know), that one season of friends, that flea market show i hate (don't ask), and the entirety of bob's burgers) but colin has no idea penelope loves him until episode 6 so it's connected to that.

like, he's flying blind and after the carriage (insert pitbull music...and fingers here) he's pretty insecure that's he's moving a lot faster than she is. it's unsettling to be head over ass in love and feel like you're not worthy of it and then not even be sure where the other person is. that penelope doesn't reciprocate when he first says it to her is noticeable but he moves on so quickly you can sort of assume he doesn't want to give her a chance to, like he's scared of the answer if he asks.

colin waxes poetic about love, about penelope, etc all through eps 5 and 6. he's consumed by it and to be fair, they were on different wavelengths in part 1. she was trying to let him go and move past him and he was stumbling and staring and wanting to die with wanting her while she was like, "hey this guy you hate for no reason likes me, isn't that cool?" and it's pretty fresh for him so i would think something like that lingers.

when she tells him she loves him in ep 6, he's happy. and relieved. i also think he's been expecting bad news (which, you know. it, uh, will be later) so it's a relief to hear that they're on the same page but, and this stuck out to me the first time i heard it, she says she loved him while pretending to be his friend. she corrects herself because of course she was actually his friend but she loved him underneath of it all as well but penelope isn't always the best with words when on the spot and it takes her a moment to calm down and gather her thoughts. the relief (and guilt of him not knowing/reciprocating) is very obvious in the moment and i think he was thrilled to hear that she loved him back.

which leads us to the LW fight. which makes him question if he ever knew her at all. he does, of course he does, but she's been this secret second person who has written about him, his family, her best friend, and her own family for years. penelope's intentions are never malicious when it comes to protecting the people she loves but the execution can leave a fair bit to be desired. she doesn't lie but she isn't always kind, either.

so you have this man beyond in love with a woman he doesn't think he can trust who just admitted she'd loved him for years. it's easy to live in that hurt and anger and assume the worst of someone when they've just betrayed your trust so deeply. it would probably be easy to feel manipulated. i don't think him questioning her motives is beyond the realm of possibility but i do think penelope is better than me because if i get accused of something i didn't do i would act up something fierce (see this is why my husband had to marry me, he had to keep me from terrorizing the rest of the population with my dramatics. a hero of our times, really).

anyways, what i mean is, i think it's easy to ignore the lead up to that betrayal as an audience since we know penelope's anguish and hurt over what she's done but colin has no idea and it's very fresh for him so it's easy to lash out and think everything had a motive. penelope as LW is very calculating and pointed. i think it's smart of her, actually, to continually tell him she loves him and not constantly poke at the argument. she's not giving him anything else to hold up and use against her after the fact. she's very frank and open even when they have their argument in the street.

this idea he has of LW is this hurtful, manipulative person playing with people's lives. like, LW would entrap him but penelope wouldn't so it's easy to hate one and love the other and i think his inability to bring them together as one person could play into that dynamic of feeling insecure of what her intentions were. you can sort of see each time he breaks because he knows penelope loves him but he steps back each time he's reminded of LW and how it comes between them.

something i also think plays out in his inability to communicate effectively and how deeply his self-loathing goes into his jealousy of her success and how he's incapable of being intimate with penelope until he's in a better headspace. he loves penelope. he wants to marry her and be with her and live a life with her but there's a 3rd person in his marriage in his mind and what does one do with all of that when you're so firmly penelope-sexual you're staring at the walls in a brothel when you're still single? idk man.

just remember if you're sorry for having read this, i am sorrier for having written it. except for the penelope-sexual part. that's still funny to me.

OKAY SO i need to get this out of my system

It's probably obvious that Mick had been a difficult kid (of course, given that he was an outcast probably: the slim, small, weird kid with no body hair) and very much without friends. He'd have been the object of, mockery and nasty jokes and things like that; school sucks buddy!

Applying that into a Pokemon world: Mick would have definitely wanted a huge, strong pokemon. Probably to be able to properly defend himself, one like Kangaskhan, or a Zangoose or a Seviper (or even better, a Charizard just like he'd seen on TV!). Of course, having a strong pokemon would require years of training (and bonding too!), something that required a level of patience little Mick hadn't built yet. So, knowing his way into the woods due to always hanging around there by himself (comfort? escape? who knows), he goes deeper and deeper. Yeah, he tries to catch creatures he deems "strong", and horribly fails, again and again.

During one of these awful attempts, he returns home, frustrated and tired. However, the constant trips to this unknown part of the outback (and, of course, making a lot of noise) had attracted a teeny tiny creature: a Trapinch! The weak link of his group, low level, weak thing (but fierce and with a high defense), its presence isn't recognized until Ms. Mundy finds a lot of her crops missing and others bitten.

Of course, Mick finds the plague and brings it back to the outdoors, away from home. But it refused!Going back to the little boy's house each time it is taken away. Catching it on a small trap, Mick is willing to exterminate it, but something talks to him. Maybe he saw himself in the eyes of that tiny critter (who was struggling in a cage that wasn't made for it), or maybe he learned some empathy from his mother, or maybe he just wanted to contradict his dad. So, he keeps it in the end.

Clearly, the kid doesn't expect much from this, little creature that fits in his backpack (bad idea: he shouldn't have brought it with him to school, now he's also the weird pokemon kid). But still, he feeds it, he brings it with him everywhere (can't trust his dad enough), and slowly gets used to its presence.

The Trapinch soon tags along Mick into his hunting trips. The kid trains his precision with the bow and, in a couple of years later, his dad's rifle. Understands his companion's hunting method too, and slowly begins to train and teach new moves to it. A bond is forming! Through the years, Mick starts seeing the Trapinch as a pet (not that his family didn't had pets, but this one? it was his. the connection was visible between them)

The bullying problem doesn't stop though. Mick learns to avoid it, and avoid telling his parents about it (given that he already defends himself, and he doesn't want to make a fuss out of it). He drops school around his last years, dedicating himself to only hunting for some time, taking about a sixteen/seventeen year-old guy probably.

And wahoo! Word gets around about the quiet guy that headshots all the bunnies and deers and just like that he gets his first actually sniper job. (Not really going into that, let's focus on the pokemon aspect instead)

Trapinch probably evolves around this time. Not an extremely incredible event (some evolutions are televised) but Sniper might have not expected a Big Dragon-Fly. Vibrava is such a cool pokemon tho, it gets a while for Sniper to get used to the new name.

- Fun idea a friend of mine commented: "Vibrava can get him his jars to pee. It can also work as a bomb helicopter or smth: it grabs the jarate, flies above the enemy and drops it in their head"

However I do think they wouldn't have gone in much sniping jobs together, given a feral Vibrava's nature of, uh, the ultrasonic waves thing. It probably goes away a lot, into the outback all by itself. That's fine, but Sniper can't stop thinking his pokemon is going to leave and not come back some day.

Around this time, Sniper gets his contract at RED, travelling to Americs (probably around, 23 years old?) Forgive me for I don't know much about dates and ages! I headcannon Sniper to be in his mid 30's during the comic (Even though I'm pretty sure he's canonically 26, I'm sorry, I can't imagine him being younger than 30)

Sniper brings Vibrava with him into his (recently obtained) van, close to RED headquarters. For obvious reasons, it is not taken into the matches, but it's left out of its pokeball to explore around. At first, it doesn't return to sleep one night. Then it happens more often.

And it finally happens. Vibrava doesn't come back for a day, two days, a week. Of course, Sniper feels devastated, thinking it's gone for good (but leaving his window open everyday, just in case...)

He wakes up one day (or is it night? probably too early to notice), having heard a strong wind move his van. Groggy, goes outside to check if a storm of some kind is approaching, and he'd greeted by an enormous, dragon-bug thing that grabs him by the arms and lifts him up in the sky.

Flygon is way stronger than Vibrava. Bigger, of course, and more active. But still playfully bites at his hands, and still lays on its back demanding belly rubs like a dog (just like it used to do when it was a Trapinch). They go on camping trips together a lot. Sniper could technically go on its back, but he doesn't want to leave the van alone.

Sniper probably looks back to when he was a kid and is glad to not have uh, eliminated the pokemon when he had a chance.

I've never understood the whole Naruto hangs out with his family as a clone thing. And not just because, if I was Boruto, I'd both understand that the clone is, psychologically, still Naruto, and think it was super cool that my dad could semi-permanently be in multiple places at once.

I mean, Boruto is a kid tho so he doesn't need to make sense, but still.

Like, I never understood why Naruto would insist on working as his actual self specifically, and not as a clone. Straight up, it can't be because that way his main body will always know what's up, because the clone can dismiss itself instantly and take the info back to actual Naruto. And if I were ninja president over the start of a new era that I already know some people aren't happy about, I would want a clone sitting at my desk for me. As a decoy. In case somebody managed to, like, blow up the ninja oval office or something.

Hell, I'd probably staff the hokage's office almost entirely with my shadow clones, so I'd have instant, first hand, experience-based updates on all matters each time I ended the jutsu.

Wonder Comics YJ Thoughts

My re-read of Wonder Comics YJ reminded me how much I've been meaning to play in that sandbox. I remember when it was coming out and how much people complained about it, and I was sad bc I thought it would be so EASY to fix those flaws with a lil' fanfic.

Which brings me to the fact that I wanna get back into writing fic. I've missed it. Why not start with this lil' era that caters to so many things I like anyway? I've got a buch of bunnies/concepts I wanna explore...

Kinda obsessed with Kon's storyline. I dig that he was trapped there, got fake-married, helped raise a baby for a while, and skipped out on the Crisis group memory-wipe as a result. I'm gonna go ahead and read some of his storylines that take place after the YJ series ended, bc I also love what all that whackness did do his relationship with the super-fam.

Amethyst on the team. I should be exploring this. Full stop. Gen, shipping, world-building.... I can go in so many directions with my fave princess and fave team actually being put together, and I should.

Tim's memory reboot a la Zatanna. This was really a cool idea. I like that the core four all have reason to remember their time with each other, even if OG YJ adventures have technically been erased from timeline. Kon was protected by the Gemworld. Bart by his speedster shenanigans. Tim got help from Z, and Cassie... well, I don't think we quite covered why Cassie remembers...

Which means I could do a story about what Cassie remembers and why. Probably involving some Greek god bs. Could be angsty. Could be fun.

That also begs the question of HOW MUCH DO OTHER FORMER MEMBERS REMEMBER? Cissie. Greta. Anita. Cissie shows up toward the end of Wonder Comics YJ, and there has to be some complexity there. I head about her being threatened to return to the cape by Amanda Whaler, and I've considered toying with it.

Then there's the new kids on the block. I admit I don't have a lot of ideas for Kid Lantern and Jinny Hex, but I've got a couple. And I really like the idea of incorporating Naomi into the team. I enjoyed S1 of her trade. I would probably stop there at growing the roster, tho. The big teamup at the end of the book with all the new young heroes was a bit... much.

How much do the Titans remember? The core four were pretty buddy-buddy with Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Raven in their post-YJ Titan days. Do those relationships still hold water? Or not? Hmmm.

oh totally!! i just think that semi and reon are probably the most approachable out out of the third-year starters—yamagata has serious RBF, ushijima is their untouchable idol, and tendou . . . well, tendou's tendou. semi and reon, on the other hand, are much more mild-mannered and relaxed, so people often talk to them more. they probably get the most friends who cheer for them outside of the organized shiratorizawa cheer team

also, semi's literally a musician. i know we all generally that he started in high school (or younger) and practiced throughout, so people definitely fell in love with the cute bad-boy-looking guitar (bassist?? piano?? whatever) player who turned out to be a total sweetheart like UGH i'd be so soft. the other third-years pretending to date him on his behalf is so fucking funny tho oh my god like can you imagine the gossip mill at shiratorizawa???? everyone is so confused before they probably just end up concluding that semi is dating all of them but then they're also like "why don't they all just show up at once???? wouldn't that be way more efficient??"

of course tendou catches wind of this and so the next time someone asks semi to meet behind the building or whatever EVERYONE goes with him and this poor starstruck sap of a first-year has to face down the rest of the third-year starters. reon is the only reason they're not shitting their pants while semi kindly rejects them and so they get to live to tell the tale

"Liv, every time we come to Wembley and you go to the bathroom, you end up getting lost" she laughs.

"That isn't happening today."

"Ha!”

"It isn't. You'll see."

"Yeah, we'll see" she says, making everyone else laugh.

"Fuck" I say when I find myself outside the vip area. How did I manage to end up here?

"Liv?"

"Declan?" I say as I turn around, my heart skipping a beat when I see him. Will that ever stop happening? Probably not. And definitely not when he is looking as hot as he is right now. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same question" he says, making us both laugh, definitely remembering when we met at Madders’ house. 

"I told you I was coming to watch the lionesses game with my friends."

"You did, yes. But I thought you said you had tickets next to the pitch. What are you doing up here?"

"I… I went to the bathroom and got lost" I shrug.

"What?" he laughs.

"Yeah… It happens every time I come to Wembley, I don't know how I manage to do it."

"Have you tried not going alone?" he asks with a teasing smile that is definitely not turning me on. 

"We somehow still get lost, so now they don't want to come with me anymore."

"So they let you get lost on your own? What if something happens to you? What if you cross paths with a weirdo?”

“Are you calling yourself a weirdo, Declan Rice?” I ask him, trying to tease him and not sound like… a weirdo.

“Rude, Olivia. Rude” he laughs. And it is one of those loud laughs of his, so I guess I managed to do it right. “Do you want to go somewhere else?”

“That sounds like something a weirdo would say.”

“Stop teasing me, Liv” he says, closing  the space between us a bit and looking at me in a way that makes me gasp. If I was turned on before, now I'm… Well, you can imagine how I'm feeling. 

“Sorry, I just… I… Umm… Where do you want to go?”

“Well, the game is basically over, the girls are winning 4-0 already. So I thought we could go have dinner.”

“Us? I mean, you and I?” Oh my God, Olivia. Of course he means you and him. Who else would it be?

“Yes, you and I” he smiles, moving a bit closer. “What do you say?”

“What about my friends, tho? And your brothers? You came with them, didn't you?” 

“Yeah, but I don't think they will miss me. And seeing that your friends allowed you to be alone around Wembley knowing your history…”

“Rude, Declan. Rude” I chuckle, repeating what he had just told me and making him smile.

“So, are you in? There is this really cool restaurant I want to try and that I think you would also love. They apparently have some of the best cakes in the city, and if there is something I've learnt since I met you, it is that you have a sweet tooth.”

“Who, me?”

“Yes, you, Olivia” he smirks. “Are you coming with me or not?” Declan says, offering me his hand.

“I am” I reply, taking it and feeling that electricity I always feel when we touch.

“That was the best cake ever” I say as we leave the restaurant. “The food was great too, but the cake? Urgh. Thank you for bringing me here, Declan.”

“You're welcome” he says as we start walking, his hands in his pockets.

“Then why do you look so… off.” 

“I kind of regret bringing you here.”

“What?” Oh, shit, Olivia. What did you do?

“Yeah” he shrugs.

“Why do you regret it? Did I do something wrong? Is it because I let you pay for everything?” 

“What? No, no” he says, stopping to look at me. “You did nothing wrong, Liv. That was one of the best dates I've ever had.”

“Wait, it was… a date?” I ask. I'm sure my eyes are so wide right now that they could pop from their sockets.

“What did you think it was?” Declan laughs.

“I don't know… Just… two friends eating together” I say, nervously playing with my bag's strap.

“That was a date, Liv. And like I just told you, one of the best I've ever had.”

“Then why do you regret taking me to that restaurant?”

“Because…” he sighs, running a hand through his hair and making me feel funny things in my belly. Maybe a bit lower too. “Because I got jealous.”

“Jealous? Jealous of who?”

“It wasn't a who. It was a what.”

“You are not making any sense, Declan.”

“I got jealous of the cake.”

“What?” I laugh. But it isn't a cute laugh, no… It is a horrible one, one that makes a woman who is walking past us give me a weird look. 

“I know it sounds like I'm crazy, but you should have seen yourself, Liv. The way you were looking at it, the way you were enjoying it, the noises of pleasure you were making…”

“Noises of… what?” I may not be able to see my face, but I know my cheeks are starting to turn bright red. 

“Of pleasure” he says, moving closer. “I got jealous because I want you to look at me like that, Liv. I want to make you enjoy yourself like that, to hear you make those noises because of me.”

Is he… Oh my God, is he talking about what I think he's talking about? About us…

“You… I… Ummm…” I mumble, my knees feeling like jelly once again as he moves even closer, one of his hands cupping my face.
